Chum

Nicole tries to think of something she and EJ can do with no one else in the place. EJ thinks they should take advantage of the old man's absence. He moves in. Nicole takes his mind off his troubles.

Marlena returns to the DiMera mansion. She says she's there to collect her things. John tells her Ava's gone. He wants her to hear him out. Marlena is all ears.

Phillip and Morgan maul each other. Phillip tells her this isn't right. Chloe walks up to the docks and sees Morgan and Phillip glued to each other. The look on her face is the same as if she were witnessing the SSK slicing up a half dozen victims and tossing the pieces into the water as chum for the Salem River sharks.

Meanwhile, over at Dean Robbins' hotel room, Stephanie asks, "What do you want him to say"

"I want him to tell the truth," says Max, "I want to hear him say it – That he's my father."

Nicole suggests going up to Victor's room because Victor would hate that. EJ doesn't want to waste any energy running upstairs. He pulls her over to the couch.

Marlena asks, "Can you say what you want to say so I can leave please?"

John says, "My behavior at the pub was wrong." He says he didn't turn her down because he didn't want to be with her, but because she had hurt him and he wanted to hurt her back, "It was childish. I've picked that kind of behavior up living here with Sami, Lucas and EJ. Ava is just a friend. I don't have that many."

Marlena picks right up on that one and snaps, "Who's fault is that? I didn't hurt you intentionally."

John realizes that and also knows that she has been hurt more than anyone, "You lost someone you love and I have been callous. For that I am sorry."

Chloe interrupts Phillip and Morgan's slurpfest. Phillip makes a desperate dive for the Guy Manual, but Chloe snatches it from him and reads, "This isn't what it looks like... It's not what you think... We're just friends... What excuse were you going to come up with?"

Phillip asks, "Can we not make a scene?"

Chloe doesn't just want a scene, she wants a murder scene, "This is just a prologue. I'm just getting warmed up."

Robbins admits he's Max' father. He asks them to leave. Max gets snotty. Robbins says he came to see Max in Salem when he was little and learned Frankie had taken him under his wing and the Bradys had adopted him. Max says Robbins didn't give a damn about him. Robbins says he knew Max was well taken care of. Max goes off the scale, "I have the blood of a coward running through me." Max wants to know why Robbins didn't give a damn about his own son, "You are gonna start talking."

Robbins says, "I don't have to justify myself to you."

Max says, "The hell you don't."

Marlena is stunned. She accepts John's apology. John wants to make it up to her. Marlena wonders about Ava. John insists there is nothing going on, "You saw how she behaved with Steve. When she gets her claws into someone she won't let go."

"Right," says Marlena, "But the important thing is Kayla was so understanding about catching them doing the nasty."

Chloe rams it into high gear. Morgan says the kiss wasn't planned. The woman scorned goes berserk. Morgan starts to leave. Phillip stops her. Chloe steps in, "Weren't you leaving?" Phillip tells her to cool it.

"The past is just the past," says Robbins, "And the future is just the future and the present is the present. That should about cover things."

"You forgot eternity is eternity," says Max, "I wonder how the faculty members would like it if I ran your past by them? YOU SEDUCED MY MOTHER! I want to know about her. She died and I was left in the care of less than loving foster parents. All I feel is hate. How do you feel, Dad?"

"My feelings are my feelings."

Nicole and EJ work on getting their clothes off. While Max and Robbins are over discussing nuclear physics and such things, here at the Kiriakis mansion, EJ deals with a much more complex and difficult subject – the female brain. Suddenly and without warning, Nicole calls things off.

Talk about slicing people to pieces, Chloe goes to work. Morgan understands what Phillip was trying to do and says she appreciates it. Morgan leaves. That's fine with Chloe, since now there won't be any witnesses to Phillip's murder.

John asks Blondie to stay for dinner. Blondie accepts. "What would you like," asks John, "French? Italian? Inuit?"

"Surprise me," says Marlena.

John gets a call and excuses himself. Out in the hall a guy tells him Hollingsworth is getting ready to leave town. John will get back to him. He hangs up, "Oh, Paul, you're not going anywhere."

Robbins offers Max a bribe to keep quiet – ten grand. A gal in the audience shouts, "That might not be enough. Offer him more!"

"This is making me sick," says Stephanie.

"Us, too," chants the audience.

Stephanie tells Robbins he doesn't even know Max. Max says his real father was OMB, " He was a simple and decent man. Especially simple. I can't take your money, but maybe we can work a little something out. I want to know who the girl in the picture is. If you tell me that I'll think about your offer."

EJ is flabbergasted, "I thought I was helping you forget your troubles."

"I’m not upset any more," says Nicole.

"No," says EJ, "You're hostile."

Nicole wants him to leave, "Go home to Sami. You're in love with her. You thought you could say the word and I'd just jump into bed with you. You are shocked I'm not as much of a tramp as you think I am."

John says, "If that's what it takes," and hangs up. He offers sake. Marlena wants sherry. He says the call was just business. He toasts new beginnings for old fogeys. Marlena says it means a lot he apologized and cared about her feelings.

Chloe says she knows she and Phillip had an arrangement, but she's rearranging the arrangement. She's starting to have feelings for him.

"That wasn't supposed to happen," says Phillip, "I care about you too. I didn't want to make you angry or jealous."

Chloe whines, "You don't have the same feelings for me that I have for you."

EJ leaves the Kiriakis mansion, heads for the nearest monastery and signs up. Then he goes into the pub. Tony joins him and orders a martini, "Shaken, but not stirred."

EJ greets him, "Hey, you're back. How's Anna after the wedding?"

"Shaken but not stirred," says Tony. He toasts, "May you find happiness... but not too soon." He thinks EJ is wallowing in self-pity, "I'm going to take a stab at making this right."

EJ asks, "Isn't that what O.J. said to Nicole?"

They go to a table.

Nicole broods. She remembers telling EJ about her love life – that the right guy just doesn't exist for her.

Victor walks in, "What are you doing here? I'm surprised you are not pillaging the silverware." He wants to toast their mutual liberation. He sees the champagne, "I see what's wrong. You made a cheap play for someone and they rejected you. It was EJ, wasn't it?"

Robbins claims he has never seen the picture before. Max doesn't buy it, "Who's the girl?"

EJ and Tony discuss women. The conversation bears some similarity to Abbott and Costello discussing, "Who's on third." Tony says EJ marrying Sami and having a child was what Stefano wanted. He is not sure EJ wants to desecrate Stefano's memory.

Paul meets Morgan. He says he's got to leave town. She tells him to take care. He asks her to stay away from Phillip. Morgan protests but Paul insists. Morgan nods, but doesn't really come out and say she will stay away from him. Hugs. Tears. Paul leaves. Morgan sobs.

Phillip picks up the well-worn guy manual and leafs through it. He finds the appropriate section and drones, "You are the only one I want." He starts to kiss her but his phone rings, "I'll just be a second." He answers, "Just make sure he keeps his mouth shut. Do not let him talk."

John and Marlena sit on the couch. John thinks this feels familiar. You look exceptionally beautiful tonight. Marlena giggles like a schoolgirl. John raises his glass, "To second chances."

"I see since you lost your brain you also lost your ability to count," says Marlena.

Max asks, "Is the girl my sister?" Robbins tells him he has no idea who he's dealing with. "Actually," says Max, "I do."

Robbins says it will be hard for Max to move forward if he's dwelling on the past. Robbins suggests talking tomorrow. They agree to meet at the pub. Max and Stephanie leave. Robbins stares.

Phillip hangs up. He suggests going to Chloe's place. Chloe isn't sure. He assures her he just wants to talk. Chloe agrees and walks off. Phillip sneers.

John is back on the phone, "Just find him and handle it." He hangs up and joins Marlena.

"Bad news," she asks.

John takes a drink, "Very bad news... DOOL has been renewed for another season."

Tony wants EJ to understand how important it is for him to fight for Sami, "Are we clear now?" He raises his glass, "Here's to miracles." EJ thanks him.

Victor growls, "What is with your attraction to married men?" Nicole says all she wants from him is cold hard cash. He asks her to leave, and then goes upstairs.

Nicole sits on the couch, "That's not true. That's not what I want at all."

Tony bumps into Morgan on the way out of the pub. He asks how she is doing and she says she's not doing well. He offers to have her intern again. She'll call when she's ready.

We fade to a dark section of the boardwalk. A body rolls into view. Someone rolls it over. Paul! They roll him into the river. The Salem River sharks head for their new helping of chum...

Nope she's worse.

Max says his real father was OMB

Evidently not real enough to keep you from dating your nieces.

Great Prevuze today, as always.

EJ asks, "Isn't that what O.J. said to Nicole?"

Yeow! That was a good one.

"You thought you could say the word and I'd just jump into bed with you. You are shocked I'm not as much of a tramp as you think I am."

Actually, I'M shocked at this HUH? moment. Nicole has been doing nothing but trying to get EJ to bed her and now she's upset he decides to do it?????

Great Prevuze today. The Prevuze team, as always, is on the cutting edge of cultural trends - Password. Loved it. LOLOL

Would like to comment more, but I'm running late for a meeting.

Thanks for the shot in the arm.

Tony says EJ marrying Sami and having a child was what Stefano wanted. He is not sure EJ wants to desecrate Stefano's memory.

WTF??? So now Ejami is nothing more than EJ wanting to please his daddy? What happened to the love he's been showing Samantha for the past two years? Don't the writers know that you can't change history with a single scene?

EJ asks, "Isn't that what O.J. said to Nicole?"

NOT FUNNY. Sickening actually.

Who needs the river Prevuze? Salem is crawling with land sharks.

It was childish. I've picked that kind of behavior up living here with Sami, Lucas and EJ.”

You think?

"This isn't what it looks like... It's not what you think... We're just friends... What excuse were you going to come up with?"

It appears that Chloe could have written the Guy Manual.

Marlena says it means a lot he apologized and cared about her feelings.

Chloe whines, "You don't have the same feelings for me that I have for you."

OK, cue up the Morris Albert.

"Feelings, nothing more than feelings,
trying to forget my feelings of love.
Teardrops rolling down on my face,
trying to forget my feelings of love.
Feelings, for all my life I'll feel it.
I wish I've never met you, girl;
you'll never come again.
Feelings, wo-o-o feelings,
wo-o-o, feel you again in my arms."

"I'm going to take a stab at making this right."

EJ asks, "Isn't that what O.J. said to Nicole?"

The ref puts his hands on his hips and gives Prevuze a game misconduct!!! Harsh, oh so harsh!!!

Another great recap and outstanding photos and captions…Prevuze you are the best!!!

I'd really like to meet that gal in the audience sometime, she always stands up and says exactly what I'm thinking. HAHAHAHA

Now that Robbins should be pretty sure Max is the one who broke in and trashed the place why doesn't he call the cops? Oh...I forgot. Max is a Brady* and nothing would happen to him anyway.

Loved Hope rushing out to get the scoop ahead of Maggie, The Steph picture and the Jawlena pic - which is almost about the way the dialogue really is these days. Great Prevuze!

*But not enough of one to not date his nieces. Good one, too, Deb! LOL

These new "mommy wannabes" are really having trying times. Stephanie and her "son" Max. Morgan and her "son" Dayuhdee" and Chelsea and her "son" Daniel.
I tell you, you take your eyes off of them for one second and the mischief they can get into without mommy there to guide them. Tsk..tsk.

Great prevuze today...as always. You make me laugh so much. I just read the preview's for tomorrow...OMG...I see where this storyline is going!!! Nicole is going to be Max's mom!!! Do you see it coming???? That is going to be hiliarious!!!!

Is Nicole old enough to be Max's mom? I was thinking she would be his sister. But this is DOOL and you never know!!!!

The Guy Manual has been getting a heavy workout. Do they all have a copy or do they meet at the He-man woman haters Clubhouse to pass it around like Daddy's old Playboy?

Please don't make Nicole out to be the gold digging tramp with a heart of gold. I like her being a nasty ho drunk. She's such a nice contrast to the nasty ho whiner.

Phillip sure is getting around. Belle, who's Belle?

Loved the Prevuze again.

"the nasty ho whiner"

Unfortunately in Salem you have to specify which nasty ho whiner you are talking about. There are so many of them.

Alison,

I was thinking, too, that Nicole is probably Max's sister, and that she suffered sexual abuse at the hands of her father, Trent. At least that would explain why she is so frightened of him.

Nicole father was Paul Menendez! He reign of terror was several years when he rape Jan Spears.

WTH is going on with this show?
Somebody please shoot me now. LOL
Nicole and EJ, UGGGGGGG!
This is totally BS, everyone know that EJ has been in love with Sami for two years now. This show is raising my blood pressure.

But Thanks to Prevuze, I can at least have a good laugh.

Possible that Trent is Nicole's pimp from the past? Now, when will I see the separated at birth picture of Nick and Napoleon Dynamite?

5:27 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Okay, Tony is really confusing me. He openly hated Stefano. So why would he care what Stef wanted or if EJ desecrates his memory? If he cared at all, maybe he should be trying get him out of that coma, or better yet never have agreed with Lexi and EJ to keep him that way. It's not that I think Tony should forgive him, but this is a complete reversal of behavior.

Or better yet, the separated at birth picture of Stephanie and a roll of saran wrap (clingy). Has anyone else noticed that Chloe only changes her facial expression twice per episode? Can we say Botox? I thought it was funny the other day when Stephanie said Lil Joe looks just like Poppa. Last time I saw him, he looked like one of the california raisins. C'mon. Hire a five year old Joe already and get rid of the babydoll in the blanket.
I have a suggestion for Sami. Leave them both. Take the kids, agree to weekend visitations and just leave them both and start off new. Let Lucs and EJ just bully each other till one of them caves in. Put them both in the nervous house with Stefano.
I'm looking for Caroline to sell the pub to Max and the Queen of Cling. Then, she can open her own daycare center for all the kids in her family. No wonder she made Max manager. She hasn't the time to manage it with tending to all those children. I don't know how Maggie does it, tending to babies and running the Chez Rouge.
I'd still love to see a picture of Nick in a "Vote for Pedro" tshirt.

Possible that Trent is Nicole's pimp from the past?
Nicole's father drugged her and forced her into doing a porn movie but she was never a prostitute. But watching this show while the writers have absolutely no clue where they're going, that could easily change.

Loved the Jammer banner. Didn't Dena learn her trade at the feet of Reilly, king of 'tell them what you're gonna say, say it, and then tell them what you said' style of writing, also known as cut/paste?

Open question to everyone, where else can you get a job at a place where you were already fired, hired somewhere else, tanked that one, too, and get rehired so you can tank that show again?

Ha! I knew from day one when Dean Robbins entered the pub that he was the father of Max.

I'm so glad I discovered this blog...Days has got me hooked for the first time since HS.
