Psychobabble

Belle gets out of bed and goes to the window. Claire cries. Belle stares. Phillip holds the baby and wonders what is wrong. He calls for Belle. No answer. "At least somebody is sleeping ," he says.

Shawn and Mimi are coming back home. Shawn hears the baby crying. He remembers JT doing that when they had no idea he was sick.

Mimi asks, "Do you think there could be something wrong?" Yeah, the kid found out who her mother is.

They decide to butt in. Phillip answers the door. "Are you OK," asks Shawn.

"No," says Phillip, "I'm glad you guys are here."

Alex finds the jewel, "John has had too much time with Marlena. We have to get him out of the picture."

John and Marlena dance. "Are you remembering," asks John

"I'm remembering dancing with the man I love," says Marlena

"Thank God," says John, "your memory is coming back."

Jack and Jennifer dance. Jack twirls and collapses. Jennifer calls for help. John and Frankie rush to check him out. Jack gets up and insists he is OK. He doesn’t want to go to the hospital.

Alex takes the opportunity to check on Marlena. He asks if she is OK. "No," says Marlena, "I am a doctor. I should be able to help."

Alex drags out the jewel, "Do everything I say... I want you to tell John you want to go home; that you don't want to see him any more."

Marlena says, "But that's not true. Why do you want me to tell him that?"

"Marlena," says Alex, "I know what's best for you. You don't want to be with him. He's not good for you."

Marlena asks, "Are you sure?"

They ease Jack into a seat. John thinks Jack needs to see a doctor.

"There isn't anything a doctor can do for me," says Jack. He turns to Jennifer, "If you don't mind going home with a crumpled cape crusader, I don't mind going home with you." He asks Frankie to take him home.

Jennifer asks John to call Lexie.

John tells Jennifer he's sorry to hear about Jack's condition. Jennifer asks how things are going with Marlena. John says things may be turning around for them, "If there is anything I can do..." Jennifer leaves. John calls Lexie.

Phillip doesn't know what is wrong with the baby. He tells them Belle hasn't been nursing. He gives the baby to Mimi so he can go up and check on Belle. Mimi dumps Claire like a hot potato. Shawn intercepts.

Belle stares. Phillip asks if she heard him call. Yes she heard. She should have come down. He asks if there is anything he can do. Belle says there isn't.

Phillip has an epiphany, "You're not right."

"I don't know that I ever will be again," whines Belle.

Meanwhile, down in the living room, Shawn holds the baby. Mimi turns on TV. GUESS WHO! The Stones! Streets of love. Shawn asks if Mimi is OK. Mimi says she is. We watch the video. Again. Shawn looks at Belle's picture.

Phillip tells Belle things will get better. Belle goes off the deep end, "How do you know that? You can't see the future. Don't say that."

Phillip says, "When I lost my leg I hated it when people said that, just like you do, but they were right."

"How do you know, when I don't," says Belle, "I have no control. It's like I'm a different person. Everything makes me anxious. I can't focus. I'm numb inside."

Phillip asks, "Have you taken your medication?"

"What?"

"The medication I picked up for your moods," says Phillip.

"No," says Belle, "I haven't taken it."

He gives her a dose. Silence. Phillip says, "The baby has stopped crying."

Belle snaps, "You left her alone!"

"No," says Phillip, "Shawn and Mimi came. Do you want to say hi?"

"No."

"They're our best friends," he says.

Belle is a little touchy, "STOP PUSHING ME!"

Phillip says, "You have to see them sooner or later."

Belle whimpers, "They seem to be doing everything together lately."

Phillip says, "Every time I mention the two of them together, you get very upset."

Belle protests, "I do not!"

Phillip says, "That's because you're afraid of losing Shawn." Belle stares through the tears.

Jack, Jennifer, Frankie and Lexie are at the Devereaux house. Jennifer goes to make tea. Frankie offers to help. He says he wants to get away from Jack.

Frankie tells Jennifer she is scared. She needs to let it out.

Jennifer asks, "Why did I let Jack take me dancing?"

"He wants to be close to you," says Frankie, "He has every right."

"I'm so scared. I feel like his is the beginning of the end," says Jennifer. Don't we wish?

Jack asks how much time he has. Lexie dodges the question, "You are getting weaker."

"No kidding," says Jack, "Super-Guy just fell on his keester. How bad is it going to get? I'll tell you what. I'm going to change back into mild-mannered Jack Devereaux. Then we will talk. You have to give it to me straight."

Marlena protests. Alex has her hold the pendant, "When we first came here, you were so upset with people pushing you. I couldn’t believe how selfish they were. I am the only one who put you first, last and always. I am the only one who truly cares about you. I love you."

John overhears, "What did you just say to my wife?" Alex says, "There is no point in trying to hide it any longer. Marlena and I are in love." John squints like a mole in the sunlight.

Frankie comforts Jennifer. Jennifer says, "I should not be leaning on you like this." Frankie says, "I got a perfectly good shoulder going to waste here."

"I just feel so weak sometimes," says Jennifer.

Frankie says, "What you're dealing with is so difficult. You've mourned Jack twice already. Off in the distance was a clock ticking and you didn't know it until Jack got sick. Now you have to say goodbye again. That's got to be the toughest thing in the world."

"I'm so worried about my children," says Jennifer, "Abby idolizes him."

Jack says, "You know, for the longest time, I didn't want to know what I was up against but now I do. Let's palaver. Tell me, Lexie. Have you told me the worst? I can handle it."

"OK," says Lexie, "You will lose most of your muscle control and your motor functions. There are no medications that offer effective pain control. Your family will want to take care of you."

"No," says Jack, "I won't put them through that."

"I'll arrange for a private nurse," says Lexie.

"No," says Jack, "Jennifer wouldn't allow a stranger in her house. She'd rather have me run off and kill myself and wonder what happened to me for the rest of her life. She would be there for me wondering if it was spoon-feeding time or diaper-changing time. One kid in diapers in this house is enough. There are lots of things you don't think about when you say 'for better or worse.'"

"Unfortunately it happens to all of us eventually," says Lexie.

"I won't be there for that," says Jack, "I'm going to commit suicide. With the help you and your medications."

Lexie stammers, "I've taken an oath."

"Forget the oath," says Jack.

"No," says Lexie, "I can't give you the medications to do this."

Jennifer steps out of the kitchen, "NO JACK! I will not let you do that!" Nobody's buying this, right?

John asks Marlena if she has fallen in love with Alex. Marlena says, "I've turned my future over to him."

"I knew you were after her," growls John. He turns to Marlena, "It's been him all along. He 's the one who wanted the divorce."

"Yes," says Marlena.

"Marlena asked you for the divorce because we love each other," says Alex, "I know this won't be easy for you."

"Drop all that phony psychobabble, pal," snaps John, "How did this happen?"

Alex says, "It's quite simple. I love Marlena and she loves me."

"Just answer me this," says John, "How did you do it?"

Alex says, "We were together and we talked and nature took its course. Its' enough for you to know we love each other and Marlena wants to end it with you."

John says, "Before Jack fell, Marlena and I were doing well. What happened? Go ahead, Marlena, tell him what happened earlier." Marlena stares.

Belle asks, "Why do you keep bringing this up? I am not jealous of Shawn and Mimi."

Phillip says, "I'm going to put this carefully." Good decision "I don't think you are jealous. You and Shawn are through and I am clear on that. Mimi still blames you for Rex. In her mind, he left her because of what you said."

"That's ridiculous. She comes over every day," says Belle.

"She comes over with Shawn," says Phillip, "I'm not threatened by what you and Shawn used to have. I know I have your heart, right? I'm going to check on the baby and will tell them you are asleep."

Shawn checks the kid. Mimi asks if he is OK. "Yeah."

Mimi asks, "Music is a powerful thing isn't it?"

Phillip comes down and tells them Belle is resting. He appreciates them coming, "This PPD is a lot harder than I thought it would be."

"You look wrecked," says Mimi.

"I haven't gotten a lot of sleep lately," says Phillip, "The baby has been fussy. I keep her down here with me so Belle can sleep. I love both of them very much. I just want to make the baby happy again. Claire, too. I'm starting to be obsessed with it."

"It goes with the territory," says Shawn, "I know I always came first with my parents.

"I came first with Henderson," says Phillip, "I have to get my life going again."

"How is the leg," asks Shawn

"It's been bothering me a little," says Phillip.

Shawn offers to take Claire for the night.

"Oh you guys are the best," says Phillip.

"She'll have such a good time she won't want to come back," says Shawn, "We can handle her." Phillip gets the worst end of this bargain. He has to handle Belle. Mimi stares.

Jennifer will not let Jack take a habit-forming drug. Jack points out, "I don't have that much time to get hooked."

"You can't just give up," insists Jennifer.

"Actually," says Jack, "Lexie and I were in the middle of a doctor-patient thing."

Jennifer goes back to the tea, "You can't give up, Jack."

Jack says to Lexie, "That kills me. No pun intended. Seeing her live in a dream world."

"That's a natural tendency," says Lexie, "And it's a better course than committing suicide. Jack, if you do this, the consequences for your family will be devastating."

"No," says Jack, "They will never know when I leave this planet. They won't have my death haunting them forever."

Lexie says, "Jack, millions of people go through the ritual of saying goodbye. It's a necessity."

"I know it's against the law for you to assist me," says Jack.

Lexie says, "No, Jack, I can't help you. My ethics won't do it. I draw the line at romping around with Tek and being unfaithful to Abe."

"You are entitled to say no," says Jack, "But those same ethics bind you not to tell anyone what we just talked about." Lexie scowls.

John says to Marlena, "Tell him you love me so he can pack his bags."

Marlena clutches the pendant, "I'm sorry. I can't do that."

"He has brainwashed you," says John, "You have to fight. Don't let him tear you away. Open your eyes."

Alex butts in, "I am not doing anything to her except loving her more than you ever have. You are a danger to her. I will make sure you can't get close to her. I have already requested the restraining order."

"Damn that restraining order," says John. Marlena tells him he is making a scene. "I don't care if anyone is watching. How do you expect me to react? Can't you see what is happening here? He did something to you!"

"We're going," says Alex. He takes Marlena's arm.

"You get your hands off of her," says John.

Shawn hands Mimi the baby. Mimi freaks. The baby wakes up and cries.

"I didn't ask if you were OK with this," says Shawn, "I am so sorry. I saw how overwhelmed Phillip was. What do you want to do?"

"Just get the door open so I can give her back to you and she will stop crying," says Mimi.

Belle lays in the fetal position, "What is wrong with me? It should be the happiest time of my life. Why am I so unhappy?" Phillip watches.

Jennifer pours that great healing elixir. Lexie tells Jennifer Jack will deteriorate. She asks if Jennifer is OK.

"I have to be OK for Abby and Jack Junior," says Jennifer, "But every bit of strength in me I have to give to my husband. I can't let him down."

Jack asks Frankie, "You really do still love her don't you?" Silence. "Ho boy... Sigh... Be careful what you wish for, Frankie. I can't tell you how much that hurts. Maybe I could just die of a broken heart and save everyone a lot of trouble. You are my gift to Jennifer. You will be here for my family. You will give them support and protection." Guy hug.

"John, let go of my arm," says Alex. Marlena begs him to let go.

John loosens his grip, "You're not leaving with him."

"That's Marlena's choice," says Alex, "I could have you arrested for assault. One last thing. You accused me of making Marlena fall out of love. All I did was remind her of the love we shared. So obviously the love we shared was considerably stronger than any love she shared with you." Alex leaves with Marlena. FF on the tormented John.

Mimi panics, "Shawn! I don't know what to do!" Shawn picks up the baby.

Belle says, "I don't know what's wrong with me." She fumbles for her pills. Phillip yells, "Belle, NO!"

"It's not easy giving up on someone you love," says Austin. Nicole says, "The reason you're not telling me who this woman is... it's because I know her. It's me!"

"I know you love me as much as I love you," shouts Sami. "That's right," yells Lucas, "I love you but I can't..." Sami grabs him and kisses him.

Smell The Gumbo

Belle and Phillip arrive at the dance. Belle is not feeling well. Phillip wants to know if this is PPD or because they saw Shawn's car in the parking lot, "Are you nervous about seeing Shawn and Mimi together tonight?"

"No," says Belle, "But I'll whine around about it anyway."

Shawn Tarzan. Mimi Jane. "I have a new sympathy for Chippendale dancers," says Shawn.

Mimi says, "I could kill my mother for making us come as Tarzan and Jane." Shawn tells her she looks hot. She says she's cold, especially when the door opens, "My goose bumps get goose bumps."

"Tarzan take Jane back of bar and get warm," offers Shawn.

"That's tempting," says Mimi, "but I have to work."

Shawn talks about his new opportunity with Max, "If you had told me a year ago I'd be happy as a mechanic, I'd have said you were crazy. Becoming a lawyer was my mother's dream, not mine."

Mimi suggests Shawn build the garage female clientele by wearing a speed-o while he works.

Bonnie stops Roman coming in, "Hey, you can't be at Alice's without a costume."

"I am in costume. I'm dressed as a police commander."

"Nice try," says Bonnie, "No cigar. Lucky for you years ago a boy scout taught me to be prepared." She helps him with a sheriff's costume, and stabs him with the badge when she tries to put it on. Roman watches Marlena and John.

Marlena tells John the place getting busy. "The only person I see here is you," says John, "As we spend more time together, you will learn just how much I love you. And I believe you will reconsider asking me for that divorce."

Alex comes in. Bonnie has a conniption, "Doesn't anyone in this town know you're supposed to be in costume?" She turns him into the town villain - black hat. "I don't want no gunplay in my place," says Bonnie, "So, if you like, you can check your weapon."

"That's all right. I'll keep it holstered. Thanks for the hat," says Alex. He thinks to himself, "Damn, I've worked much too hard to let John get Marlena now. Looks like this villain has some work to do."

Jennifer is on the phone. Jack struggles to get it from her. Jennifer asks, "Did you say something about suicide?"

She confronts Jack. "It's not suicide," says Jack, "It's sushi-side."

"You hate sushi, Jack. You turned green when we had it on the show," says Jennifer.

"That was years ago," says Jack, "Look, when I was captive on Tony's island, they served sushi every day. I learned to love it and I know you love it, secretly, and I wanted to surprise you with it."

"Sushi and pizza," says Jennifer.

"Bad idea," says Jack. He tells the guy on the phone, "Hey, kill the sushi-side, please. Bye." Jack gets the party rolling. Bo goes for plates.

Jennifer turns to Hope, "There is something else he is not telling me. I know it."

Belle has a conniption, "Why would I be uncomfortable with Shawn and Mimi being here? They are our daughter's godparents. I do not have a problem with them being together and even if I did, I HAVE TO GET USED TO IT, RIGHT? JUST LIKE I HAVE TO GET USED TO BEING A MOTHER AND HAVING POST PARTUM DEPRESSION!"

"Waiter," says Phillip, "Over here! Prozac, please."

Mimi tells Shawn, "It's funny, you don't want to go back to college and your mom is upset and I am desperate to get the money to re-enroll and my mom could care less."

"Maybe we should switch mothers," says Shawn, "... Or not. Listen. I know how important a college education is to you. Why don't you let me dip into my trust fund? Then you can pay me back after you graduate."

"NO WAY," insists Mimi, "that's for your education."

"I told you," says Shawn, "I'm not going to school. I'm doing what's right for me."

Phillip and Belle walk up. We are all uncomfortable. I'm not sure what Belle's costume is. Given her mood, it may be the Salem Serial Killer II. AND, Streets of Love continues to play over and over and over in the background. Two more minutes and I'm going as SSK III.

John tells Marlena, "You know, once you get your memory back..." He sees Alex, then gets a phone call, "Frankie... let me guess... Yeah, I know. He's right here. I can handle things from here." He hangs up.

"Is something wrong," asks Marlena.

"In a way," says John. He takes her hand, "I want you to look into my eyes. What I have to say is very important."

Roman comes up to the town villain who is watching John and Marlena. Roman says, "I wouldn't bother them if I were you."

"Why would I bother them," asks Alex.

"Because," says Roman, "You're afraid Doc's remembering. Then you lose."

"Far from it," says Alex, "I am her doctor. I am helping her recover from her amnesia."

"Really," says Roman, "I think the last thing you want is for Doc to regain her memory."

"I think you're confusing me with yourself," says Roman, er Alex, "Because if Marlena regains her memory, the only one who loses is you, because John winds up with his wife back, I wind up with a healthy patient and you wind up with absolutely no hope of getting back together with the woman you love."

"The only thing that matters," says Roman, "is if Marlena is happy."

John tells Marlena he thinks Alex planted the idea of a divorce in her head. Marlena flashes back to the hypnotism session. "The bond we had was powerful," says John, "All you have to do is believe. Because if you do it will empower you to fight this amnesia."

Marlena asks, "What amnesia?"

John gasps, "OMG! It's worse than I thought!"

The pizza party is in full swing. Jennifer is glad to see Jack hasn't lost his appetite. The girls take the empty boxes into the kitchen. Bo tells Jack, "I don't know if I'd have the strength to do what you are doing."

"You'd do what you have to," says Jack, "We have to protect our families."

Bo asks if there is anything he can do. Jack just wants people to watch over his family after he heads for the great beyond. "I will," says Bo, "No way Patrick Lockhart will get anywhere near your family."

"That's what I wanted to hear," says Jack. Hug. Man-hug, of course.

Jack tells Bo he'll be watching over Jennifer from the big Soap Opera In The Sky. Jennifer comes out and says she heard her name. Jack says, "I was just saying I love you so much."

"I love you Jack... so much." Hug. Not a man-hug.

"The night is young," says Jack, "Let's go dancing. I want to trip-the-light-Fandango. Come on. I want to give you a night to remember for all the Days Of Our Lives."

People scatter to get ready. Jack starts to call Mickey and Maggie to look after Jack Jr. He hesitates and says, "This might be our last big night ever, Jennifer."

Belle ain't happy. But, what else is new. She tells Shawn he has to finish college. "Why are you giving me such a hard time," asks Shawn, "You dropped out of college, too."

"I TOOK A LEAVE OF ABSENSE BECAUSE OF THE BABY. I'M GOING BACK!"

"You are doing what is right for you," says Shawn, "and I am doing what is right for me."

"It is not right for you," says Belle.

"I'm just taking your advice, and getting on with my life," says Shawn.

John says, "There is Belle. She has grown into a beautiful, but wacko, young woman. There is no doubt you are her mother." Marlena remembers Baby Belle. "She needs you so much. We all need you so much."

Roman watches, "Maybe Marlena is getting her memory back."

Bonnie comes up behind him and rubs his shoulders, "Some people read palms and some people read tea leaves. I read shoulders. You're wondering if Marlena gets her memory back, will she want John or you."

"John is her husband. Believe me, no one will come between John and Marlena," says Roman.

Alex dangles the bangle, "I have to make sure I didn't leave any hint of a memory of John, or Roman could stir up Marlena."

Bonnie backs up and bumps into Alex. He yells, "Hey watch it."

"Hey," she says, "You are taking this villain thing seriously. Good for you." Alex walks off.

Bonnie looks down and finds the jewel from Alex' pendant, "Well, look what we have here."

Alex notices the jewel is missing, "Where is it," asks Alex, "I had it just a second ago."

Belle tells Shawn, "Getting on with your life is one thing. Throwing it away is another." She sees John and Marlena and goes over to talk to them.

Phillip stands like a deer staring into headlights. Mimi asks how he's doing. He's suffering from Postpartum Depression Depression.

Belle says it's good to see John and Marlena together, "I'm sorry. I shouldn't be bothering you." John says it's OK – nothing is more important than Belle. Belle knows that. "Nothing is ever going to be the same," she says.

"Honey," says Marlena, "You're going to get through this. You are."

"I want to believe you," whines Belle, "But if I do, then I'll have to find another way to be the center of attention."

Marlena suggests they go freshen up.

Roman sits down with John. John says, "The way Marlena just reacted to Belle, I think she is starting to get her memory back."

"I just want you to know," says Roman, "All I want is for Marlena to get her memory back."

"I've missed you so much, Mom," cries Belle.

"I'm sorry," says Marlena, "But you know what?" Yeah, we know. "I'm here for you."

"I thought having this baby would be the happiest time of my life," bawls Belle, "But it has been the worst. I am a total failure as a mother and as a wife."

Marlena reassures her, "Now, I don't want to second guess Dr. Carver, but I wonder if this isn't about PPD. I wonder if it is about losing Shawn." Belle stares.

Phillip asks Shawn if he thinks he will be happy being a mechanic for the rest of his life. Hope swoops in and announces SHE won't be happy.

Bonnie doesn't know what the jewel is, but thinks it will look good on her. She puts it in the abyss for safekeeping.

Alex obsesses. He has to find the jewel or all his work will be for nothing.

Jack returns the call to the suicide boys, "Yes, I am still interested. I need to be circumspect, and so do you." Jennifer listens. Jack continues, "Yes I understand the laws in the United States are different."

Jack hangs up. Jennifer says, "That sounded very important."

"Oh," says Jack, "It was. I was just checking my horoscope. It said if I choose to spend the night with the woman I love, we could have a night we will never forget." They decide to put it to the test.

Alex rummages around for the jewel. John comes up, "Lose something?"

"Yes," says Alex, "My car keys."

"Here," says John, "Take mine. See ya later."

Alex says, "No thanks. Marlena might need me."

"I don't think so," says John, "She's with her husband – of her own free will."

"She also filed for divorce of her own free will," says Alex.

"Before this night is over," says John, "Marlena will change her mind about me, the divorce and a lot of things." He walks away.

"We'll see about that," says Alex.

Roman tells Bonnie he isn't into relationships. "Who said anything about a relationship," says Bonnie, "I just want to have a good time."

"What the hell," says Roman, "All right." They clink their longnecks. Perhaps Roman should back off on the beer.

Hope lectures Shawn. Bo jumps to his defense. Hope drags Mimi into it. Mimi doesn’t really agree with Shawn's decision even though she has taken a leave from college herself. Hope presses. Shawn leaves. Hope tells Mimi to go talk some sense into him. That would have to be a llooonnnggg talk.

"I may not agree with his decision, Mrs. Brady, but I respect his right to make it."

Mimi starts to leave. Hope yells, "EVEN IF HE DECIDES TO THROW HIMSELF OFF A BRIDGE?"

"Waiter," says Bo, "Over here! Prozac, please."

"I can't cry about Shawn any more," cries Belle, "Phillip is my future."

"Are you sure," asks Marlena, "I know we have been apart for a while now and I don't remember a lot, but things are going to change. So whenever you start to think you are alone, please remember you are anything but alone." Bawl. Sob. Hug.

Jack comes in dressed as Captain Nitwit, "'Scuse me ma'am, are you alone?"

"I'm waiting for my husband," says Jennifer.

"Well," Jack lifts his mask, "Your wait is over."

Jennifer laughs, "Where did you get that costume."

Jack says, "A super hero never reveals his sources unless he is out to have a super time. So, how about it? Wanna dance?" Jennifer asks if he is sure. Jack says he wants to enjoy every minute he has left with her. A-whirlin' they go.

Hope ain't happy. Bo tells Shawn they need to talk, "Your mom just wants what's best for you."

"No," says Shawn, "She wants what she thinks is best for me."

Bo says, "I know I've been preoccupied with Chelsea lately, but that doesn’t mean I'm not interested in you and your brother. I'm there for you guys."

"How do I convince Mom I have to make my own decisions," asks Shawn.

Bo has the right answer, "Very carefully."

Hope talks to Belle, "I hear you don't agree with Shawn's decision to quit college." Belle can't believe Mimi isn't trying to influence him. "Between you and me," says Hope, "I'm not sure Mimi is good for him."

Bonnie walks up and says, "My Mimi is the best thing that could have happened to your son." Mimi yells for Shawn, then nods toward Bonnie, Hope and Belle.

John has Marlena imagine they are in New Orleans, "Smell the gumbo. Listen to the Dixieland Music. Fell the breeze. That's when I take your hand and ask you to be my wife." He puts a ring on her finger.

Marlena flashes back, "I remember."

Alex asks the DJ to play a special request, "This has to work."

"What do you remember," asks John, "Tell me everything."

Music box music plays. "John says, "You remember me giving you the ring. How about the wedding?" Marlena is distant. "What is it," he asks.

Jack tells the DJ to lose the music box stuff and put on something with a beat. He and Jennifer hop it up.

"Damn," says Alex, "Curses, foiled again!"

Marlena says she got distracted for a moment, "I remember being engaged."

"We danced that night," says John, "Let's do it again. Maybe it will stir up another memory."

Alex stews, "I have to find that charm."

Jack and Jennifer twirl around to their wonderful memories.

Bo asks Roman if he is there alone. Roman says, "I was talking to Bonnie a while ago, just having a few laughs."

"Actually," says Bo, "She's still here. She's over talking to Hope. They don't look too happy."

Bonnie threatens, "One more snide word about Mimi..."

Shawn steps into the lioness' den, "What's going on?"

Bonnie says, "Your mother thinks Mimi is a bad influence on you." She turns to Hope, "Let me tell you something about higher education. I happen to be a graduate of Hairhopper's school of beauty with a major in manicures and a minor in pedicures, plus I'm working on a license to drive eighteen-wheelers and I only have a few hours left to qualify for home heating and air conditioning maintenance – HVAC to you, and I am this close to being certified in TV and VCR repair."

Hope says, "Well, it sounds like you've taken every course matchbooks have to offer."

"Well," says Bonnie, "We all weren't born with silver spoons up our you-know-what."

Mimi tries to calm her down.

"No," says Bonnie, "It's time Princess Hope learned what we are made of. I am not ashamed of what I am."

Mimi is embarrassed. She runs off. Tarzan follows.

Phillip is confused. He asks Belle, "What was that all about."

"It doesn't matter," says Belle, "I want you to take me home right now!"

Alex searches for the charm. Focus in on Bonnie's cleavage. Alex wonders.

Mimi wails, "She's not your mother. You don't understand."

Shawn says, "Your mother does not speak for you any more than my mother speaks for me. I care about you. No matter what they say it's not gonna change how I feel about you." Kiss.

Belle and Phillip come out. Phillip says, "See, I told you Shawn and Mimi were getting closer." Funny, I don't remember Belle wearing green face paint.

Bo asks Hope what was going on. Hope wants the rest of the evening to be about them. That's OK with Bo.

Roman lassos Bonnie, "Now, what can Sheriff Brady do to help?"

"You're off to a good start," says Bonnie.

The charm has dropped out of the abyss. Alex finds it, "Lucky charm, let's hope it's not too late."

John and Marlena dance. Marlena is remembering more.

Jack picks Jennifer up and whirls her around. He collapses. FF.

Recipe For Disaster

Austin talks tech. Ohhhhh.... wireless. He is sooooooo hi-tech. Sami says Nicole is so down and out she doesn't know if she even has a computer. Austin says, "I think I can provide my Executive VP with a computer."

Sami confides, "Austin, I have to tell you I think I'm going to have a hard time working with Nicole."

"Hey," says Austin, "My company – my call."

Sami says, "I just really think you should have talked to me first before asking Nicole to move into my apartment."

"She’s living at the 'Y.' She doesn't have any money," says Austin, "Besides, I thought this was our apartment now."

Sami caves in, "Well, when you put it that way..."

Austin says, "This arrangement is just until we get up and running. I'm sure Nicole's not thrilled living with us either."

"Living with me, anyway," says Sami, "I'm doing this for you, Austin. I like working for you and your company. We'll get rich together. We'll be billionaires."

"Let's not get ahead of ourselves," says Austin.

Nicole reports for work. She comes in dragging boxes behind her, and immediately takes Sami's workstation.

"That's my desk," says Sami.

"No, honey, you're going to be fielding calls for Austin and me," says Nicole, "I know the right place for you."

Victor comes in to see Lucas, "Welcome back to Titan."

Lucas assures him, "I won't let you down. Austin, Sami and Nicole can't compete with me. I will do what it takes to succeed." He thinks for a moment and says, "I didn't mean to sound too competitive."

Victor growls, "How do you think I got where I am today? When you meet your competitor you don't shake his hand, you crush him."

Marie comes in. She has a flower delivery for Lucas. "I wonder if they are from Sami," asks Victor.

Hope says it's been a bad day. She can't believe Bo gave Chelsea more money.

Bo goes on the defensive, "She said she would spend it on necessities. Besides, money's not that tight right now." I guess it can't be tight if you don't have any of it, huh?

"It's not the money," insists Hope, "Chelsea can't hit you up every time she ants a spa treatment. She will be completely out of control if she keeps this up." Will be?

Jack computes. Jennifer comes in and he blanks the screen. She brought him a protein shake. "No more wheat grass," says Jack, "Do you want to hasten my death?"

"It's good for you."

"I can't... I can't do this anymore," he says.

Alex tells Frankie, "Marlena will deal with your client only through her attorney."

John doesn't take it well. He lunges at Alex. Frankie pulls them apart. "Please," begs Marlena, "Stop this. I can't take any more of this."

Frankie suggests he and John leave. "Listen to your lawyer," says Alex, "I'm going to follow through with that restraining order."

John tells Marlena Alex is no good; he's brainwashing her. Marlena wants John to go. She can't take any more.

"I'LL BE BACK," says the Johninator.

Frankie and Johnnie leave. "He's using his position to break us up," says John, "He wants to break us up, I'll break his face."

Frankie advises, "That would be a big mistake."

John snarls, "He's manipulating her mind to impose her will against me. That's something even Stephano could never do."

Alex hypnotizes Marlena, "It's time for you to forget John Black."

Bo isn't happy Chelsea spent the money at the spa. He will straighten it out with her. As soon as he gets more cash.

Hope reminds him, "You have two sons. Shawn and Zach need you."

Bo rambles, "Shawn has been great these past two months. He pleaded out of the charges against him and did his community work. He's moving forward with his life. We talked about that today." Well, I guess that answers the burning question about what happened to the charges against Brainiac. Apparently he has paid his debt to society.

Hope says, "Good."

"Look," says Bo, "I know you wanted Shawn and Belle to be together..."

"They can't be," says Hope, "I understand that."

"He's not aimless," says Bo. Witless, just not aimless. "He might get a job with Max as a mechanic."

Hope is crestfallen; her son, a greasy mechanic. Bo says, "Hey, we're a couple of blue-collar cops. That's how he was raised. It's nothing to be ashamed of."

"Chelsea is ashamed of it," says Hope, "I don't know how much I can take. Shawn, Zach and I aren't a priority to you."

Jack apologizes for snapping at Jennifer. She force-feeds him pills and the protein shake.

Jack vows, "I will do it for you." He guzzles the shake. "EEEEYYUUCCKK! I just wish I could chase it with a little pizza. I enjoy pizza. Please don't deny me my one last craving."

Jennifer snaps, "You have months to live. Why do you say that? Is there something you are not telling me?"

The flowers are from Sophie. "This job will be a real challenge," says Victor, "I think you are up to it. I wouldn't have hired you otherwise."

"I know your first choice was Austin," says Lucas, "Him working with Nicole and Sami will be a disaster."

"Nicole can be formidable competition," says Victor, "especially when she's had a couple of martinis. If Nicole and Sami work together under Austin's guidance, they can be your downfall."

Nicole's stuff smells like garbage. That's because Victor threw it in the trash and Nicole had to dig it out. Sami says, "I can't believe you brought this crap into my home."

"OUR home," says Nicole, "Besides, this blouse is worth more than your whole wardrobe. I might let you wear it sometime. Of course, we're not the same size." THAT DID IT!! Sami tears into Nicole. Austin breaks them up.

Nicole wants to put Sami In the kitchen, "where she can make coffee."

Austin assigns places, "Now, shake hands and promise you will work together and get along as roommates.

"ARE YOU SERIOUS," asks Sami. Nicole smiles.

"This isn't a contest," says Bo, "I've been here for Shawn since he was born but Chelsea didn't know I was her father until a little while ago."

"It means discipline Bo," says Hope, "Chelsea needs to be responsible. I hate to say I told you so but I told you she wouldn't spend the money wisely.

Bo jumps to her defense, "She gave money to Light the Night and bought clothes for work. Then she spoiled herself at the spa, just like you did." Bo must be tired of living.

"You are missing the point," says Hope, "She lied. And you are enabling her. You've got to put your foot down. If you don't, you will create a monster. You know what? Maybe you already have."

Jennifer wants to know if Jack's condition is worse than he is telling her. Jack insists it isn't, but they have to face reality. More force-feeding. Then Jennifer goes to order a pizza.

Jack starts to spit out one of his pills, but sees Jennifer's picture and puts it back in his mouth, "I don’t want to put you though this any more, so I have to hurry the process along. He goes to the computer and types "Please contact me at this number to talk about death with dignity."

Jennifer comes out of the kitchen and says, "I can't believe it, Jack."

Frankie says John can get power of attorney if he can declare Marlena incompetent. John doesn't think they can do that.

"There has to be something inside her to remind her of you," says Frankie.

Alex tells Marlena, "John has gone to far. He is possessive and not good for you."

Marlena sees the love clock. She remembers John giving it to her, "What if you're wrong about John?"

As John leaves he turns to the penthouse door and says, "You come back to me, and you remember our love and all the good Days Of Our Lives."

Marlena remembers their wedding vows.

Here's Jennifer's big deal: "I was just looking at this pizza menu. You remember we used to order wild pizzas with pineapple and anchovies when I was pregnant and used to get all those cravings?"

"There is one craving I will never get over," says Jack, "I love you so much." Kiss.

Victor says, "Nicole was really good at Titan and now she knows Titan's secrets."

"She might have been great then, but look at them now," says Lucas, "If you ask me, Austin's new company is a recipe for disaster."

Victor says, "They are lean and hungry. Those women will do whatever it takes to succeed."

"Even murder," says Lucas.

"I'll vouch for that," says Victor, "Don't underestimate them."

"Yeah," says Lucas, "But they shouldn't underestimate me."

Nicole and Sami bicker. Sami has an idea for the business, "We have to tell everyone Austin is back in town, so I will contact the Spectator."

"Why bother with a newspaper when there is TV," asks Nicole, "We should set up a press conference."

"That's even better," says Austin, "Your opposing viewpoints make you a terrific team."

They ask Sami to make coffee. After Sami goes to the kitchen, Nicole takes Austin aside, "In the press conference I wouldn't tell people Sami is working for you, what with her being Stan and everything."

Sami thinks, "I have to find a way to get Nicole out of here once and for all."

Bo explodes, "Did you just call my daughter a monster? You don't like her. She thinks you don't, anyway."

"I'm sorry she feels that way," says Hope, "I don't want to fight with you any more. I'm going to call Jennifer."

"Nice way to change the subject," says Bo.

Jennifer answers. Jennifer tells Hope they are doing great and invites her and Bo over for pizza. Hope agrees. Can we bring wine or anything?"

"No," says Jennifer, "I didn't invite Belle."

Hope corrects her, "I'm sorry, you misunderstood. I said wine, not whine."

Bo asks for a truce. Hope thought they already had one. "We'll get through this. Just like we always do," says Bo.

"John isn't thinking rationally. Further contact with him will cause you irreparable damage," says Alex.

Marlena remembers their wedding night. Alex is on the phone, "I want a restraining order against John Black. OK, if you can't do it today, then do it first thing in the morning."

Marlena walks out of the apartment. John is standing there. She says, "I thought you'd gone."

John says, "I just couldn't get on the elevator."

Marlena asks, "You want to spend time with me, don't you?"

"Yeah, I do," says John.

Alex wants Marlena to come back. She refuses, "I have to get this resolved. When did you want to go out?"

John says, "Right now."

Marlena smiles, "All right. I'll change." Alex steams.

Frankie tells Alex to stay away. Alex says he already has called for the restraining order. "Make sure he doesn't follow us," says John. He leaves with Marlena.

Ho and Dope have arrived at the Devereaux house. Bo asks how Jack is feeling. Jack stammers around but says he is OK. The pizza arrives. Bo goes for beer.

Jennifer tells Hope she is praying for a miracle. The phone rings. Jack stumbles around, trying to juggle the pizza transaction and trying to get to the phone before Jennifer does.

Lucas is going to check out the competition. He assures Victor he is motivated. Victor has high hopes for him.

Sami downloaded the customer list. Austin tells her to put it on Nicole's desk. Sami goes over to Nicole's desk and sees a proposal laying on it. She picks it up, starts reading and thinks, "Wow. This is really good. She takes it to Austin, "I've been working on this proposal..."

Austin looks it over, "This is really good, Sami."

Austin tells Sami to go get creamer. Nicole tells her, "I saw kid snacks in the cupboards. Is Will living here? Is he even speaking to you?

Austin tells them to keep it professional. Nicole goes back to her desk, picks up the proposal and takes it over to Austin. She asks his opinion.

"What do you think about it," asks Austin.

"I think it's perfect," says Nicole.

"REALLY," he asks, "No changes?"

"No."

Nicole asks Sami for a spoon and sweetener and a napkin. While Sami is gone, Nicole takes a family picture off the mantle and sets it next to Sami's computer. She types something.

Sami brings the stuff. She sits down and reads what is on the screen:

I never want to see you again.

Will

Have a lousy life.

Sami runs out of the apartment.

"What's wrong? Where did she go," asks Austin

"I have no idea," says Nicole.

Time passes. Well, actually, it was a commercial break. Nicole says Sami has been on break too long. Austin tells her they have to get along. Nicole agrees, "But Sami won't be able to. Before long she will self-destruct like she always does."

Sami cries in the hall. Lucas comes in and looks concerned. Sami says, "Don't act like you care, Lucas, I know you hate me."

Lucas says, "That's not true. I still love you." Sami stares.

Alex tells Frankie he can't keep him there against his will.

Frankie says, "Sooner or later Marlena will get her memory back and you can't destroy what she and John have."

"Well see about that," Alex runs out. Frankie chases.

Streets Of Love plays. John and Marlena are at Alice's. John tells her the history of the place. It used to be formal but now is casual. He wanted Marlena to be comfortable, so he brought her to a casual place.

"I'm just a little confused," says Marlena, "I don't know if these are memories or not."

"No rush," says John, "The fact you are alone with me is a good start."

"Do you have any magic words that might help me make some sense of this," she asks.

He takes her hand, "The magic words are I love you." Marlena smiles.

Jack tips the pizza guy. "I'LL GET IT," he yells. Too late. Jennifer already answered the phone.

Jennifer has a bad connection, "What did you just say? SUICIDE?" Jennifer looks at Jack, "What is going on, Jack Devereaux?"

FF on the suicidal maniac.

Paris Hilton Without The Hotels

Note: This episode of Prevuze is best viewed with Streets of Love playing in the background, loud and continually, until it gets so bad you run out screaming for mercy. Alternatively, you may watch five more seconds of Jack insisting he has to kill himself, which will have the same effect.

Hope is on the phone trying to contact Shawn. No luck. Bo comes in. Hope tells him about the incident at the spa. Hope is wise to the fact Shawn isn't gong back to college. She is livid. She tells Bo the information originally came from Mimi, "She must have misunderstood."

"Mimi got it right," says Bo, "Shawn isn't going back to school."

Chelsea is with Max in the garage. Chelsea ain't impressed, "Why would you invest all your race winnings into a place like this? There are so many better things you could put your money into... like jewelry."

"If you want bling," says Max, "You can call, whoozit, P. Diddy, Diddy-Diddy, Puff Daddy..." Puff Daddy, no. Sugar Daddy, yes.

Max says, "A place like this, for a racecar driver, rocks." He just needs someone who can take care of the place while he is gone. Chelsea asks about their date. Max still needs to take care of Bo's bike. That's her cue to leave. She goes for a soda.

Max revs the throttle. He doesn't like the way the bike sounds. Shawn walks in and goes right to the problem. One spritz and it tunes right up.

"You know bikes," says Max.

"Yeah," says Shawn, "Especially this one. It's my dad's. I understand you're looking for a mechanic."

"Thing is," says Max, "I'm looking for more than that. I need a business partner."

Frankie comes into Mickey's office. Mickey tells him John is coming in to talk about the divorce. "By the way," says Mickey, "When you were shaving this morning, you missed a little patch right under your lower lip." Mickey asks if Frankie needs anything else.

"All I need says," says Frankie, "is any additional information you have on John and Marlena's divorce."

John steps in and says, "All you need to know is this divorce isn't going to happen."

Alex wants Marlena to look at photos of them together. Marlena asks, "Why are you showing them to me? So I will remember?"

"I'm hoping that will happen," says Alex.

"Shouldn't we look at John's photographs to remember the past," asks Marlena.

No," says Alex, "That was the other past.

Mickey tells John Frankie will be taking over for him, "You're in good hands."

Mickey leaves. John tells Frankie it's good to see him again. "By the way," says John, "When you were shaving this morning, you missed a little patch right under your lower lip."

John fills Frankie in on the whole Marlena/Alex thing, "The man has been a disaster in every way. I think he is brainwashing Marlena." He tells Frankie about Alex taking her up to the cabin.

"Sounds a little unorthodox," says Frankie.

John says, "I went up there. I dropped in unannounced. He's kissing her. Says it's transference. The only way she would come back here is if he came along. She thinks the sun rises and sets on the guy. Then I found out he's using hypnosis on her. He's abusing it. I think he wants Marlena for himself. He's hypnotizing her to block out any memory of her family and me. When I get her alone she improves, but North sweeps in and stops it. He has convinced her to get rid of me."

Frankie says, "So North is in the penthouse? Where are you staying?"

"With Kate," says John, "It's not a bad move. From her window I can look right inside my apartment. I saw North going into Marlena's bedroom from the terrace. I'm a hothead, so I went over to confront him."

"That's not being a hothead," says Frankie.

"He said he would get a restraining order against me," says John.

Frankie says, "There are a number of approaches we can take here – medical malpractice, alienation of affection, incompetent writing, but first you want to work things out with Marlena."

"If I can get her alone I can work things out," says John, "I just need the chance."

Alex says, "When we are done, if you still want to see John's photos, of course we will do that." He thinks, "What the hell is going on here? I thought I erased all of your memories of John."

Marlena sees a picture of her and Alex with curly hair.

"It was a long time ago," says Alex.

"Wow," says Marlena, "I don't' remember. I'm sorry. I guess we really were together. Was that before Roman?" Not exactly. "Maybe if you just told me everything I would remember."

"You will remember in your own time," says Alex. He pulls out the pendant.

Max talks about an equity position for Shawn. "I'm a little low on cash," says Shawn.

"I'll provide the capital," says Max. He tells Shawn how it will work, then asks, "But what about school?"

"That was the plan," says Shawn, "but I changed my mind. College isn't the place for me." Now there's an understatement...

Chelsea interrupts and says Hope won't handle this very well, "I wouldn't want to be you when she does find out."

Hope is peeved, "Why didn't you tell me? I hope you helped him come to his senses."

"How can I," says Bo, "He doesn't have any. Maybe if we give him time he'll wake up."

Hope says, "He has been out of school over a year already. Look at the trouble he's gotten into. He's not thinking about the big picture. Two years ago he was working for Mickey. Damn that Jan spears! If it wasn't for her he'd still be in school. He isn't making this decision without me. I'm going to find him and shake some sense into that boy."

Bo says, "Hope, you can't do that."

Frankie says he will draft a letter and send it to Marlena immediately requesting she and John meet with a marriage counselor, "I hope it gets to her before her petition for divorce is filed. Then the judge will see you were on the level and might order her into counseling. Sit tight while I go dictate the letter."

John's tight all right, "Oh, man, this has gotta work. I've gotta get her away from North before he erases every memory of me."

North hypnotizes Marlena, "Clear your mind. Picture a chalkboard from school. Picture your teacher erasing the chalk. The surface is completely clean. Three... two... one... Open your eyes. You should feel relaxed. I need you to do something, which will erase every memory of John. I just need you to do what I tell you to do. Can you do that?"

Marlena nods, "Uh-huh."

Bo stops Hope from trying to call Shawn. "Don't grab the phone from me says Hope. You just told me Shawn is throwing his future away."

"I tried talking to him," says Bo, "He said he's a grown man; he's been making his own decisions."

Hope explodes, "Decisions? How about driving his motorcycle through the stained glass window at church? What about his wreck at Lookout Point? Those were his decisions. He's not as mature as he thinks he is. This could affect his life forever."

"Not everyone needs to go to college," says Bo, "You and I didn't, which he was quick to point out. I don't see him as a corporate type."

"He was talking about law school," says Hope, "If you had been more encouraging..."

Bo says, "You want me to spend more time with him. I can't do that if every time I see him I tell him he's making the wrong decision. He's not our little boy anymore."

"He'll always be my little boy," says Hope, "I can't stand by while he makes a mistake."

"It's his mistake and his life," says Bo, "We have to give him some space."

Hope asks, "Even if I see him driving off a cliff?"

"At some point," says Bo, "we have to have faith he will take care of himself. This parenting thing is pretty hard. I think all-in-all we've done a pretty good job."

"How about Chelsea," asks Hope, "I ran into her at the spa today. With her, you definitely have your hands full." Full, yes. Full of cash, no.

Chelsea says Hope isn't too crazy about the fact Shawn's dad had a wild child with another woman. She asks about his decision to drop out of college, "Hope doesn't know yet, does she?"

Shawn says, "She does not."

"She will go ballistic when she finds out about your decision. She really chewed me out at the spa."

Shawn asks, "Why?"

"No reason."

Shawn says, "That doesn't sound right. Things will work out between you two. Other than that, how ya been."

"Considering everything, OK," says Chelsea. She looks at Max, "I found a few nice distractions."

Shawn offers to finish Bo's bike while they go out. He tells Max, "This way you get to see my work."

"Just say yes," says Chelsea. Max agrees.

As they leave, Chelsea tells Max she is surrounded by grease monkeys, "Bo, Shawn and you." Max says he's going to take her some place she has never gone before. Someplace where she can get a meal, no doubt.

Chelsea says, "Where? The penthouse grill? Paris?"

Max asks, "When are you going to start trusting me? Let's go."

"Knowing I have your complete trust means a lot to me," says Alex, "Lets look at the pictures later. Now lets focus on our future. He pulls out a document. I have a document I need you to sign."

Marlena asks, "What is it?"

"It's something that will insure your future happiness," says Alex, "You know I have your best interests at heart. So just sign here..."

Marlena signs.

"Good," says Alex, "Thank you. Wait here. I have to go fax this, and will be right back." Marlena looks at the love clock and remembers John's words. Alex faxes the divorce papers.

Frankie tells John he thinks this will work. He gives John the letter to sign and instructs the assistant to messenger it to Marlena immediately.

"Right away. "By the way," she says, "When you were shaving this morning, you missed a little patch right under your lower lip."

Frankie asks John if he has any marriage counselors in mind. John says he was going to leave that up to Frankie. They start to discuss it, but the assistant interrupts and hands Frankie the fax from Alex. Frankie says, "He beat us to the punch."

John says, "The hell he has. No way North's getting away with this."

Chelsea says, "Wait. This is the church rec-room. I thought this was a date."

"It is," says Max, "We're going Salsa dancing. The instructor is a friend who invited us to the class." He introduces Chelsea and Amber Wallace. She and Max used to date. Amber went to Mexico to learn Spanish and asked Max to come with her.

"I was still working on learning English," says Max.

"You were working on a Swedish blonde," says Amber.

Chelsea isn't impressed with Max' choice of a place to go for a date.

"What's important," says Max, "is we are spending time together. Dancing is a great way to be close." Chelsea is peeved. Max asks if he is in trouble.

"It depends on how this goes," says Chelsea. They practice. She steps on Max' toes, "This isn't me." She starts to leave but Max stops her.

Shawn gets a call. Mimi. She tells him about her new job. He tells her about his. Mimi tells him about her conversation with Hope and also tells him Gloriane spilled the beans about his college decision. "Oh, God," says Shawn, "She's going to kill me."

Hope says, "Chelsea is a handful, Bo."

"Tell me what teenager isn't," says Bo, "This isn't easy for any of us. If we stick together she'll feel like she is part of the family."

Hope asks, "Don't you think I'd want her to accept me. But she wasn't receptive to me."

"She was thrown into this family," says Bo.

"Which I'm sure is overwhelming," says Hope, "But it doesn't excuse being rude. What happened to her job at Basic Black? What was she doing at Gloriane's? It is so expensive. She had every service they offer. It had to cost a fortune."

Bo looks for a hole to crawl into, "Maybe Billie or Kate gave her the money."

"No," says Hope, "Neither one of them gave her any money." Bo sweats. Hope catches on, "OMG! Oh, no... Don't tell me... You did! You gave her money! She's playing you!" Poor Bo. Back in the doghouse again.

Chelsea says she has two left feet. Max tries to encourage her. The break is over. "Just listen to the music and don't worry about your feet."

"Easy for you to say."

"Just look into my eyes," says Max.

"That I can do," says Chelsea. The music starts and, of course, they dance like Fred and Ginger.

"Max, we did it," she squeals.

Max asks, "Are you still mad at me?"

"No," says Chelsea, "You're right. Its kid of fun." Hot kiss.

Hope is a living, breathing 50-megaton bomb, "WHY WOULD YOU GIVE HER MONEY? WHAT WOULD POSESS YOU?"

"She came to us with nothing to her name. I'm her father."

"Giving her money to live on is one thing," yells Hope, "But money for the spa?"

"I will talk to her," says Bo.

"Go ahead," says Hope, "He daddy is a pushover."

"It'll take her time to adjust," says Bo.

Hope piles on, "Your daughter is a Paris Hilton in the making without the hotels."

"OK," says Bo, "I will try harder with her.

"Now," says Hope, "you need to do me a favor. Talk to Shawn again and impress how important a college education is."

Bo says, "OK, but if he sticks to his decision we have to accept it."

Hope snaps, "No I don't!"

Shawn says he should have been the one to tell Hope, "Oh, I see. Maybe you should have known Gloriane would spill the beans if that place is 'rumor central.'"

"The petition arrived before we had time to deliver the letter," Says Carolina. She tells Mickey Frankie and Johnnie are headed over to the penthouse.

Frankie tires to calm John down. John blurts, "He's not taking advantage of my wife anymore." He pounds on the door.

Alex says, "The Calvary has arrived. I can almost hear the hoof beats."

He opens the door. Frankie and John walk in. Alex asks Frankie, "Who are you?"

"I'm John's attorney," says Frankie.

"I see. Advise your client Marlena will only deal with him through their attorneys. "By the way," says Alex, "When you were shaving this morning, you missed a little patch right under your lower lip."

John lunges at Alex as Frankie tries to break them up. FF Marlena.

Bills, Debt, Flat Broke, No Credit

Mimi calculates, "Bills, bills, bills! Aaaarrrggghh! She throws a fit. Shawn avoids the shrapnel. He comes over to her and asks what is wrong. Mimi says, "Now that I am managing my money by myself everything is going wrong! I can't balance my checkbook! I don't have enough money for tuition! I'm broke!" Cool tantrum.

Shawn suggests financial aid. I suggest a prozac.

Mimi explodes, "I missed the deadline!"

Shawn asks, "What about your mom?"

"She spends everything she makes and then some," says Mimi, "And now that Mickey is gone she is in debt up to her eyeballs."

Max is working in his spiffy new garage. Frankie comes in to see him.. He's glad Max is investing some of his winnings, but he isn't sure this is the way to do it, "It's pretty quiet. Do you have any customers in the pipeline. Bo motors in on his bike.

Gloriane is attending to Chelsea, "You really don't need too much in the way of a beauty treatment. Youth is beauty."

"I've waited too long to pamper myself," says Chelsea, "Now, I'm gong all out."

Gloriane says, "From all you've had done, it looks like you hit the lotto."

"Actually," she says, "I kind of did."

Jennifer thanks Hope. She leaves. Hope waits. Outside, Jennifer is pensive. She stares at a picture of Jack and Abby. Hope comes running out and tells her she forgot her scarf. Jennifer is crying. Hugs.

Jack tells Billie she can't tell anyone what he has planned.

"I will not stand idly by," says Billie, "while you commit suicide. How could you do that? Your family will want to be with you at the end... when you... you know what I mean."

"Yes I do," says Jack, "When I die a slow, painful death. I won't put them through that. I don't want that to be their final memory of me. I'd die first... you know what I mean."

"There has to be another way," says Billie.

"There isn't," insists Jack, "It's what I have to do. If you can't help me, I'll have no choice but to disappear and do it myself."

Billie says, "This is crazy Jack. It's wrong. If you don't let Jennifer say goodbye, she'll never forgive you for the rest of her life."

"I realize that," says Jack, "But I'm thinking of the audience. They'll go crazy if they have to watch one more day of this ridiculous story-line."

Jennifer tells Hope, "I've actually gone through this before – twice. Why does this keep happening to us? I hate this disease. I wish there was something I could do."

"There is," says Hope, "Let's pray for a miracle."

Jennifer says, "It will take more than prayer. It will take hard work. I'm going to find all about this disease. There has to be some experimental cure. I'm not giving up. I have to go." Hope watches as Jennifer leaves.

Chelsea gets the treatment. She is crying. "What's wrong," asks Gloriane.

Chelsea says, "My mom and I had planned to come here together. It never happened because she died. My life pretty much has sucked since then."

"I'll bet she is right here with you now," says Gloriane, "She's happy you've done this for yourself."

"Yeah, she would say it's way to extravagant," whines Chelsea.

Gloriane says, "We all need a little spoiling now and then. And when you're here you can pretend you're Cinderella going to the ball."

"Cinderella was lucky," says Chelsea, "She only had one wicked stepmother type."

Gloriane leaves. Hope finds Chelsea, "Hi Chelsea. I was hoping we could have a little chat."

Mimi thanks Shawn, "But there isn't much you can do. I know what you make at Alice's and it's not enough for parking let alone tuition."

Shawn says, "I'll use my trust fund."

Bo is Max' first customer. Frankie thinks he should hire another mechanic while he's on the circuit. Frankie is a real tycoon. One customer – double your labor force.

Max says, "You can't find enough trustworthy people."

"I know someone," says Bo, "My son. He's trustworthy. His rap sheet is less than six pages long. And he can remove stained glass from every part of a motorcycle."

"Bring him in," says Max, "I'll talk to him." Max checks out the cycle, "This bike needs attention. These are specialty parts. I'll have to order them. Would you mind paying half in advance, in cash?"

Bo rubs his beard. He flashes back to dumping the money on Chelsea. Bo no-can-do, "I'm flat broke, Max."

"That's OK," says Max, "I know you're good for it."

"I know the parts are expensive," says Bo, "That's why I haven't brought it in." Sell the yacht, Bo.

Frankie leaves. Bo says, "Max, we gotta talk about your relationship with my daughter." Only on Daze can a guy talk to his brother about his brother's relationship with his daughter.

Max plays dumb (no stretch), "What about it?"

"Little brother," says Bo, "you got a reputation. You can pretty much get any girl you want, including Chelsea. This isn't a lecture this is a warning. She's vulnerable." A warning, huh? Bo better hope the wheels don't come off his motorcycle after it's "fixed."

"I know that," says Max, "I understand. I kind of went through that myself. We'll take it slow."

Bo asks, "So I have your word?"

"Absolutely," says Max.

"Good," says Bo, "'Cause if anyone hurts my daughter, they will have to deal with me." That does not, however, include people who shower her with gifts and money she doesn't deserve so she will become more and more of an irresponsible brat.

Chelsea says she was telling Gloriane all about her new family.

Hope wants to change their relationship. Chelsea says she isn't the one who has had a problem with their relationship. Hope looks at Chelsea's bill. She goes though a rundown of everything Chelsea has had done. "Pricey," says Hope, "I assume Billie picked up the tab."

"I've been down lately," says Chelsea, "I decided to splurge."

"This is a splurge for me too," says Hope, "A few years ago Bo and I had some financial setbacks. We worked our way out of it, or we wouldn't have been able to send Shawn to college. If you're looking to go to college, you should save your money."

"I see what this is all about," snaps Chelsea, "You don't want Bo spending money on me for college."

Jack rambles on. Billie is sorry, "I have to break my word for your own good and your family's."

Jennifer comes in. She says she's sorry for being late. Jack stammers. He's glad she's late. Jennifer thinks something is wrong.

"No," Jack insists, "I'm just reminiscing with Billie."

Jennifer doesn't buy it, "Billie, is that true?"

Billie is unenthusiastic, "Yeah."

Jennifer says, "Jack kept his illness from me so long, I wonder if he's keeping something else from me."

"No," says Jack, "Nothing."

Billie says she has to go, "I have a business meeting. Victor wants me to go back to Countess Wilhelmina and do some consulting."

They talk about Billie's rocky relationship with Chelsea. Billie leaves. Jack follows her out the door, "Look, if you don't want to help me, that's fine but tell me you won't tell Jennifer. If you ever considered me a friend, consider this my dying wish."

Billie promises. Jack hugs her and she says, "I still pray you change your mind."

Jack insists, "No, I won't."

Jack goes back inside. Jennifer asks if Billie is OK, "I know she has concerns with Chelsea right now. How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine," Jack notices all of Jennifer's packages, "What's all this?"

Jennifer says, "On the way home I stopped at the hospital and did research on this disorder. I figured out a way to beat it, Jack."

Mimi didn't know Shawn could get to his trust fund. Shawn says he can't, but could ask Victor for an advance.

Mimi says, "That is the nicest thing anyone has ever wanted to do for me. But I can't let you do it."

Shawn says, "I know how hard you have worked."

"I'm not going to let you get into your trust fund," says Mimi, "I'll take a semester off and get another job."

"You are amazing," says Shawn, "You never let anything get yourself down for very long." Yeah, except for her little mistake at the clinic which we've had to endure for months. "You won't take help form anyone."

Mimi says, "You have helped me every day since Rex left."

"You have helped me too."

"We're lucky to have each other as friends," says Mimi.

"Yeah," says Shawn, "Just purely friends." The friends get it on.

Mimi breaks things off and says, "I have to go. No time to waste. But thank you so much for the offer. I'll never forget it."

Mimi leaves. She stands outside the door and sighs.

Shawn huffs. There is a knock at the door. "Hey," says Shawn, "I'll bet you forgot your keys." He walks over to the door and opens it, "DAD!"

Bo announces, "I think I got you a job."

Frankie congratulates Max on getting his business started.

Max says, "It'll keep me OK financially until next season."

Frankie says, "I heard what Bo said about Chelsea."

"Frankie, I know Chelsea is vulnerable right now."

"I know you. You have a tendency to go too far, and there is no turning back," says Frankie.

Mimi is applying for a receptionist job at the spa. Gloriane says her resume looks good, but she needs to check references.

Good timing. Billie walks in and says, "No need for that. I've known Mimi for a long time." Billie and Gloriane tell Mimi they go a long way back. Billie helped create her most successful product line.

Gloriane turns to Mimi and announces, "Mimi, you have the job."

Mimi thanks Billie. Billie says, "Anything for Patrick's little sis."

Hope assures Chelsea, "If you want to go to college Bo and I will make it happen. But if you have a little money left over put, it aside or donate it."

Chelsea says, "I just worked for the Light the Night walk."

"Chelsea, I am so proud of you," says Hope, "Jennifer said Abby was saving money for helping people with aids in Africa. The good feelings you get from doing things like that will last a lot longer than your manicure."

"OK, I'll donate $10," says Chelsea, "Where is your donation?"

"I plan on writing a check," says Hope.

Chelsea asks, "You think I am a spoiled brat don’t you?" What ever would make anyone think that?

"No," says Hope, "I hardly know you. Bo and I both want you to be part of our lives. I'd love to invite you over for dinner, and get to know your brothers. If you'd give it a chance, things might not be as bad as you think."

Chelsea says, "I have some advice for you, Hope. Just because you are married to my dad, you still aren't safe. As long as my mother Billie is around, you'd better watch your back." Chelsea walks out. Hope has a mini-tantrum.

Jennifer says she found the information about the disease right there on the hospital computer, "Diet and herbs can slow the disease. If you start the regimen now, you can see results in six to eight weeks."

Jack says, "I don't have six to eight weeks."

"Of course you do," says Jennifer, "This isn't false hope. I'll show you. I can get to the hospital mainframe from your computer." She starts to work on the computer, "GASP! Oh my gosh, Jack, have you lost your mind?" In a word, yes.

Gloriane asks Billie, "So you're back at Wilhelmina?"

Billie says, "I do have ideas for reinvigorating the product. Like including a budget line of skin products."

Hope interrupts. Gloriane excuses herself. Hope says, "I assume you're here to pick up Chelsea."

Billie asks, "Chelsea's here? What's she getting?"

”Just about everything," says Hope.

"Really..."

Hope says, "Bo gave her some money a while ago, but there is no way she would have enough left for this."

Billie says, "I made my mother promise not to give her money."

"You should have seen the wad she pulled out," says Hope.

"If I confronted her there would just be another blow up," says Billie.

Hope says, "You can't back off form being a parent just beause you think your child would get mad at you."

"You're right," says Billie, "I have to handle this before she gets into trouble."

Chelsea shops. She tells the sales clerk she can't afford the top.

"Why don't' you just charge it?"

"I don't' have a credit card. But... " BOING! "If you will take a post dated check I am sure I can get my dad to cover it."

Bo tells Shawn about the job, "You can do that and go to school at the same time."

Shawn says, "About school... I'm not going back."

KABLOOIE! "The hell you aren't."

Shawn says, "I'm grown up now, and you can't tell me what to do. I have a couple years of college under my belt and that's enough."

"Your mom will go through the roof," says Bo, "You were going to go to law school..."

"College is not for everyone," says Shawn, "It's for people who actually have brains."

Bo caves in, "OK, you can make you own decisions. But tell me you'll think about it."

"Dad... I'm not going back to school. I'm too uncomfortable riding that crowded little short bus."

Frankie tells Max, "In the past, you haven't controlled yourself."

Max rages out of control, "Frankie! I’M IN CONTROL!"

Hope knows it isn't easy being the bad guy, "Welcome to parenting."

Billie goes off to find her wayward daughter. She flashes back to their 'hooker' conversation.

Hope sees Mimi. Mimi tells her about the job. She's working both jobs now and will be taking time off from school.

"Isn't there some other way," asks Hope, "They say people don't ever go back."

Mimi insists, "I'll be going back next semester."

Gloriane passes by and says, "You better tell your roommate the same thing."

Hope explodes, "What!?"

Gloriane says, "There goes my big mouth again."

Hope says, "Shawn will go back to school if I have anything to do with it."

Shawn hits Bo up for money. Bo is dry, "If you want to swing by the house later..."

"No," he says, "I don't want Mom to think I'm broke."

"OK," says Bo, "I'll try to smooth things over on this school thing. I wish you'd become a lawyer and support me in my old age. All I want is for you to be happy."

"I am," says Shawn, "I just hope Mom sees it that way."

"Why did you unplug the computer," asks Jennifer.

Jack flashes back to working on it, and finding the best way to die, "This was the only way I could get you to hear what I have to say."

"This research could make all the difference, Jack."

"OK," says Jack, "I'll do anything you want as long as you listen. This disease is irreversible."

Jennifer says, "We have to keep fighting, Jack."

"Jennifer," he says, "you have to accept the fact I am going to die."

"Just promise me one thing," says Jennifer, "When the time comes, you will let me be there with you." Jack stares. Hug.

Blonde Bimbo Deal

Nicole wants to know what Lucas' problem is. He says Austin's business is doomed.

Austin can understand why this would be uncomfortable for Lucas, since Austin will be working with his ex wife and ex fiancée. Austin tells Lucas the three of them need to make it work.

"She's your ex wife," says Lucas, "and whatever Nicole was to you... This is a joke. I tried to make it work with both of them for years. It burned me in ways I couldn't explain. When they lie to you, I'll be down the hall laughing my butt off." Lucas storms off.

Austin looks puzzled. Sami asks what he is thinking. "I don't know," he says, "This might not be the best idea I ever had." YA THINK?

Chelsea buys the works. Cash. Hope watches her dump Fort Knox on the attendant.

Jennifer thanks Hope. Hope is distant. Jennifer asks, "What's wrong?"

Hope says, "With all the time Bo spent looking for his daughter, it never occurred to me she would turn out to be someone I didn't like. She just paid for her treatment with cash. Where would she get money like that?" Maybe she followed in her mother and grandmother's footsteps and walked the Streets Of Love...

Jack presses Billie to help him kill himself. Billie tries to talk him out of it. She reminds him there is a higher power who controls those things. "My apologies to the higher power," says Jack, "He has put my family through the wringer too many times. I am going to decide where and how I die and you're going to help me."

Jennifer says, "Well, maybe it wasn't Chelsea."

"She's pretty hard to miss," says Hope, "unless she turns sideways. You know how much she spent? I've never got the Platinum Treatment myself. How could she afford this? I know Billie didn't give her this money."

Jennifer suggests, "Maybe it was Kate."

"I don't know," says Hope, "And to blow it all on the Platinum Package at the day spa... Jennifer... you're distant. Is something wrong?"

"My dad is working at a new clinic in Soweto. Talk about slums. If we all gave a little maybe it would help. Maybe Chelsea could learn something from that."

Hope says, "If she were here listening she wouldn't give a damn."

Billie says, "You're not thinking rationally, Jack."

Jack says, "Rationally? This is my finest hour."

Billie says, "Use your head, Jack. This is about emotions and hearts that will be broken."

"See," says Jack, "I'm sparing them as much pain as possible. I'll be gone. They will mourn and move on but they won't watch me die a slow death."

Billie says, "Jack, there are people who would give a year of their lives to comfort the people they love. It's the sudden shock that changes them. I learned that in police counseling. You are depriving them of hope."

"We're all gonna die. I'm just giving it a little push," says Jack.

Billie says, "I never thought my best pal would turn out to be such a coward."

Lucas enters the Java Café. He finds Maggie. He tells her, "You're the only woman I've ever known who hasn't ruined one moment of my life."

"That lucky woman is out there somewhere," says Maggie.

"If I succeed in business," says Lucas, "I'll worry about marriage and all that later."

Maggie has a gift for him. It's a sign that says 'Believe In Yourself.'

"You know that's something I have trouble doing," says Lucas.

"Put it on your desk," says Maggie, "Victor obviously believes in you. This is your opportunity. It's up to you."

"Victor will watch me like a hawk, especially with St. Brady gone," says Lucas.

Maggie assures him, "You will pull Titan out of its slump."

"I know what you're dong," says Lucas, "You're my AA sponsor. People don't accept me because I worked for Tony."

Maggie asks, "Are you ever going to do anything that stupid again?"

"No," says Lucas, "I'm going to make the most of the chance I've been given."

"If you have a moment of self-doubt," she says, "you have my number."

"It would be easier if I had a scotch in my hand," says Lucas.

Sami blames Nicole for half of Lucas' problems.

Nicole says, "You have some nerve blaming me, STAN. Austin pulls them apart. He says they are proving Lucas' point. He doesn't think they can work together. Sami points out she worked for John and Kate, "If I can work with them I can work with anyone."

"Correction," says Nicole, "You won't be working with me you'll be working for me."

Sami asks why Austin isn't her boss.

Austin says, "So far Nicole hasn't said anything that isn't true. She has the experience and you don't."

Hope doesn't want to be a hypocrite but this day of pampering is an exception for her and Jennifer, "How do I get Chelsea to understand no amount of money will take away the pain of losing her parents?"

Jennifer asks, "Do you think she just cares about herself?"

Hope stops her uncontrollable laughing long enough to say, "I can't imagine Abby would do anything like this."

Jennifer says, "She grew up working with my dad in Africa. She has a whole different view of the world. She loves helping people. She's sending a container of money she has saved to my dad for Christmas."

"I can't imagine Chelsea doing something like that. Bo missed eighteen years of her life. I'm afraid he will try to make it up to her by overindulgent. She's hitting him up for cash when she doesn't need it. If she is lying to him, that will really make me angry."

Chelsea gets the works. She flashes back to Bo giving her the $250 and thinks, "I'll never run out of money. There's plenty more where this came from." The First Bank of Beauregard.

Billie says, "Remember your wedding vows, Jack. IT was 'till death do us part. Not 'till suicide do us part."

Jack says, "They have been through enough. I found the perfect way to die, but I can't do it alone. You're in the ISA. You can make this look like it wasn't a suicide."

"Do you know what would happen if the insurance company found out," asks Billie, "Jennifer and your kids would get nothing."

"They won't find out," says Jack, "Don't feel sorry for me. I'm past that. It's about taking care of my family."

Billie insists, "It doesn’t have to be this way."

"It's my life, my death, my choice," says Jack.

"OK," says Billie, "It's my life, my conscience. I'm sorry. You're on your own. I won't help you kill yourself." She storms out.

Maggie is in shock, "You are kidding me! A glass of scotch? You can't mean that!"

"I do mean that," says Lucas, "But I won't do it"

"I have a confession of my own," says Maggie, "I walked past a lot of liquor stores when Bonnie horned in on Mickey. How are things with you and Sami and Will?"

"I didn't marry her," he says, "She's out of my life and out of my son's life. That's all there is to say."

"Nobody wants to be taken advantage of," says Maggie, "Are you truly over Sami? Isn't there a part of you that is still in love with her?" Lucas stares.

Sami tells Nicole, "It's not like you have a college diploma."

Nicole counter-punches, "You don't even have a high school diploma."

Austin interrupts with a shrill whistle, "If you don't stop arguing I will change my mind about both of you. You are both very competitive. I'm expecting that to work for me. We're going to get rich together, like Bill Gates and all his dudes. They're all multi-millionaires now."

Nicole fanaticizes about a day at the spa with Sami. She puts something in the hair color. Sami unwraps and finds green hair. SCREAM, "OMG, Nicole!"

Sami has her own fantasy. She doctors the facial mud. The spa attendant rubs it on Nicole's face. Nicole lays there for a few moments then discovers the stuff has turned to concrete. SCREAM.

Dueling treatments.

Mickey calls Austin. He tells them, "It's Mickey. I have to leave and take this call, so play nice."

Austin leaves the room. Ladies, start your engines. Sami tells Nicole Austin knows why she didn't graduate. They bicker. Nicole says she has already staked out Austin.

Sami reminds Nicole Austin is living with her, "Lucas has made it clear he wants to move on. And he made it really clear with a cocktail waitress last night. So I have to look somewhere else. But I'm not going to be chasing after Austin."

Sami runs through Nicole's checkered past, "There was Eric. You scared him so bad he had to leave town and never come back. And Lucas. You were paid five million to marry him. That makes you nothing more than a cheap whore!"

Nicole beats me to the punch, "He gave me five million. I'm not cheap."

Sami piles on, "Then there's Brady..."

"I love Brady," insists Nicole.

"Yeah, you run deep, Nicole," says Sami. Nicole tears up. Sami goes for the kill, "Awwwwww... Are you gonna start to cwye? I could tell the whole town about the flesh-eating bacteria. Austin would lose all respect for you."

Austin comes back into the room. The good-buddies start chuckling and get all chummy. "Good," says Austin, "You're getting along." Two peas in a pod.

Chelsea asks if she could buy some of the facial mask the attendants are applying. They tell her it is $50 per tube. She tells them to ring it up.

Jennifer asks Hope if Bo might have given Chelsea the money.

Hope is certain he didn't, "No. Bo agrees she needs to learn responsibility. Chelsea plays Bo against Billie."

Chelsea tells the attendants, "I am not happy with the color you put on my nails. It's too light. It doesn't do anything for me. What color is Mischa Barton wearing these days? Why don't you go get me a magazine so I can see. The attendants hesitate. Zis does not make zee Führer happy, "Uh... MAGAZINE... NOW!"

Jack tries to convince Billie. Billie resists.

Billie asks what Jack expects Jennifer to do, "Go dancing?"

Jack says, "After a suitable mourning period, yes. You're going to help her get on with her life. There won't be a breakthrough. I've done the research. It's terminal. I’m going to die."

"You never know Jack," says Billie, "We haven't seen next month's scripts.

Jack says, "I'm trying to be positive. It ain't easy. I'm not going to walk my daughter down the aisle when she gets married – probably to some worthless guy. My son will never know me. When Jennifer remarries... She's a beautiful woman – that will happen. I love her. I want her to be happy."

Billie says, "Then do her a favor. Don't commit suicide."

"I'm going to do this with or without you," says Jack.

"It will have to be without," says Billie, "I won't do something I don't believe in. Are you going to tell Jennifer?"

"No," says Jack, "Are you insane? We're talking about the one person who could talk me out of this."

Billie whips out her cell phone. Jack asks her, "What are you doing?"

Billie says, "Calling the one person who can talk you out of it."

Lucas tells Maggie the coffee is the most potent liquid he has had in a while. He insists, "I am not still in love with Sami."

"You are in denial," says Maggie, "You and Sami will always be tied together through Will. Do you really expect me to believe you are already over your love for Sami?"

Lucas caves in, "All right! I still love her! But why would I get back with that lying little manipulative bitch? I might fall in love again, but not with Sami. Would you like to know how serious I am about that? I would go back to drinking before I would go back to Sami. It would be a more pleasurable way of killing myself."

Sami tells Austin she will try to be more humble, "It will be good for our company. I like the sound of that. Our company. I can work with anyone you hire."

Nicole agrees, "I can put aside my personal feelings."

Austin is delighted; "I want to get this off on the right start. I am going to be really conservative financially at first, so don't expect a lot in your paychecks."

Sami says that's fine with her, "Since we will be sharing rent, that will help a lot."

"I'm at 'The Y'", says Nicole, "I can't get a new apartment. They want first and last month's rent. Victor is making sure I get nothing. So, I have to have a place to live."

Austin says, "Wow! You know this is totally crazy, but I have a great idea. Why don't you move in with Sami and me?" Sami spews her drink.

Lucas makes a blonde bimbo deal with Maggie, "I won't bring up the Blonde Bimbo who runs Alice's if you won't bring up the Blonde Bimbo I almost married. Today is the first day of my highly successful career. No more blonde distractions."

Nicole says, "This is great. We could brainstorm 24-7. That would give us an edge on the competition. Yes! I am in!"

Sami reminds them, "Hey! This is my apartment."

"I should have asked you first," says Austin.

Sami says, "We are going to try to get along, but 24 hours a day is a lot to ask."

Austin says, "If you won't be honest with me, this won't work out."

Nicole hauls out the puppy-eyes, "I really do need a place to live."

Sami topples like a house of cards, "OK, you can stay here."

Austin says, "We're all gong to be giving up a little privacy, but it will work out."

Sami thinks, "You are going to pay for this, Nicole."

Nicole thinks, "Twelve more hours a day to get my hooks into Austin."

Chelsea tips the girls. She leaves the smiling attendants.

Jennifer thanks Hope. Hope decides to wait and talk to Chelsea. Jennifer tells Hope, "She'll run straight to Bo and that will put him in a tough spot."

Hope says, "I just want to make sure she's not taking advantage of her father – my husband."

Jack tries to wrestle the phone from Billie, "If you value your life so much..."

Billie asks, "Is that a threat?"

"I am a desperate man," he says.

Billie says, "I understand it, but my heart won't agree."

Jack reminds her, "You promised me you wouldn't say anything."

"That was before I knew what you were planning," says Billie, "Now, for your own good and for Jennifer's, I'm sorry, but I'm breaking my word."

FF on the furious, suicidal Jack.

Speaking Of Floozies...

Streets of love plays. Lucas dresses. Sophie gives him a wolf whistle.

"Thank you," says Lucas.

"The pleasure is all mine," says Sophie.

Lucas wants her to help select a tie, "Which tie says 'power?'"

"You say power," says Sophie, "You're gong to kick ass at Titan."

"I have to support Will now," says Lucas, "Sami doesn’t have a job. With her track record no one would hire her."

Sami is ecstatic. Austin has hired her for his new company. Austin says, "Well, we'll give it a try and see how it goes."

"You won't regret it," says Sami, "Your company will do so well, and I will be a great assistant. With you living here, I will be available 24-7."

"That won't be necessary," says Austin.

"Think how much money you will save on office space," says Sami.

"You're sure I won't be in the way," asks Austin, "

"No," says Sami, "It's perfect."

Austin says, "Before we make this official, I want to set down some ground rules."

Nicole announces herself to Mickey's receptionist, "I'm Nicole Walker. I have a meeting with Mr. Horton."

"I'm sorry," says the assistant, "His schedule has changed. He's meeting with a VIP form New York."

Donald Trump comes in, "I'm sorry to keep Mr. Horton waiting."

"That's all right," says the receptionist, "You may go right in, Mr. Trump."

"WOW," says Nicole, "You're The Donald!"

He nods, "Yes."

Nicole babbles, "The Apprentice is my favorite show, and you are more handsome in person."

Donald isn't interested, "I really have to go. I'm late."

Nicole doesn’t care, "This must be fate. I'm in the process of a divorce form a rich husband. Perhaps you have heard of him, Victor Kiriakis?"

"As a matter of fact," says The Donald, "I have."

"The point is," says Nicole, "I'm available."

"Excuse me," says Donald, "I'm really very flattered, Ms Kiriakis. If you're looking for a job I, have all the apprentices I need but perhaps I can set you up with Martha."

"Thank you," says an unenthusiastic Nicole.

Frankie, fresh from Lucas' butcher/barber, comes out and introduces himself to Nicole, "I'm Frankie Brady. Sorry to keep you waiting. I'm helping Mickey out here."

"What's The Donald here for," asks Nicole.

"I really couldn't say."

"Couldn't or wouldn't," she asks, "Do you know anything about my situation?"

"Yeah. I have some bad news," says Frankie.

Chelsea knocks. Bo answers. "Hi," she says, "Am I interrupting?"

"No," says Bo, "Come on in. Hope is spending time with Abby's mom. Is everything OK?"

Chelsea says, "No, not really. It's Abby. I'm sure you heard about her dad. I still can't believe it. I don't know what to do to help her."

"Just be there for her."

"It just hurts to see her in so much pain," says Chelsea.

"Sad as it is," says Bo, "it will just get worse for her."

"If Hope were here she would just say I'm being a spoiled selfish brat like she always thinks," says Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Hope is at Jennifer's. Jennifer is trying to be strong for Abby. She feels like she will have a nervous breakdown. Hope tries to comfort her. She tells Jennifer she needs to get away. Hope is treating both of them to a day at the spa.

"That sounds like heaven," says Jennifer, "But I can't leave Jack. Every minute is precious to me."

Jack stands on the stairs and listens. He says to himself, "Sorry, Jennifer, I need you out of here. There is something important I have to do before I die."

Hope puts on a full court press. Jack comes in and agrees. Jennifer says she isn't going.

Jack says, "If you won't do it for yourself, do it for me and Abby and the baby. I need some time to rest."

"If you really want me to go," says Jennifer, "I won't have a good time, but I will go. Let me grab my things. I'll be back."

Jack tells Hope, "I'm telling you, we need this more than anything." He takes out his wallet, "Spare no expense." Hope won't take money. Jack thanks her.

Jack says, "This means so much to both of us. Your support will mean more after I'm gone."

"We Horton's stick together," says Hope, "We will be there for both of you."

Bo tells Chelsea, "Hope never said you are a spoiled brat, even though you are. She knows you are kind and loving and have had to put up with a lot." One out of three ain't bad.

"You understand," says Chelsea, "You're cool about everything."

"Not everything," says Bo, "There's Lockhart."

"Patrick helps me out," says Chelsea, "If I'm short on cash..."

Bo interrupts, "Don't take cash from him, or anything else."

She gives him the big eyes, "I feel bad asking you for it all the time. Billie and Hope think I am a loser. Patrick doesn't judge me."

"Just a few days ago I helped you out," says Bo, "What happened to the $250?"

"It's gone," says Chelsea, "I donated some money to the Light the Night Walk – that's OK, isn't it? Then I needed a few girl things like bras and panties..."

That did it. Bo's had enough, "OKOKOK. I guess girls are more expensive than boys. I love having a daughter, but I guess that means my wallet will be a little thinner. I'm giving you another $250. Don't spend it in one place."

"Oh, really," says Chelsea, "I don't need that much."

"That's OK," says the pushover, "I'll hit the ATM."

Chelsea says, "Thanks Dad, you’re the best. Do you mind if we keep this our little secret. I don't want Billie to know."

With the timing only a DOOL character can have, Billie steps in and asks, "What's this you don't want Billie to know about?" Everything.

Austin lays down the rules, "During working hours I'm the boss. Strictly business. After work, we're roommates, friends, sharing expenses in every way. I want to lay all the cards on the table – I don't want anything even remotely non-platonic."

Sami says, ""Oh, Austin we've been down that road before. When do we start?"

"I have to meet with Mickey Horton," says Austin.

Sami is a-rarin' to go, "I could go with you!"

"I can handle this on my own," says Austin, "Take the rest of the morning off. Relax while you can."

"Whatever you say, boss," Sami escorts him to the door. Austin leaves and Sami leans against her door. She's delighted, "Working with Austin. Living with Austin. My luck is about to change."

Mickey thanks his good-buddy Donald for the contribution.

Donald says, "I've learned with success comes the responsibility of helping. You do good work here and I want to wish you a happy 40th anniversary."

"We do have a colorful cast of characters here," says Mickey, "Maybe we could start reality show and give you a run for your money."

"Actually I think it would make a great soap opera," says The Donald. Great?

Nicole tackles him on the way out, "I was more than a trophy wife. I was CEO of a major corporation. I was wondering if you would consider me for a place in your organization. I would be a very willing employee working under you."

"I will get back to you," says Trump.

"Really?"

"No."

Frankie the skinhead invites Nicole into her office, "Shall we get started?"

Nicole snarls, "I'm still mad at Mickey pawning me off on some assistant."

"I assure you, I am a very experienced and accomplished attorney," says Frankie, "I have reviewed your case. Your husband has unlimited funds. They won't settle unless you accept a minimal payout."

"Like hell," says Nicole, "I got five million dollars for Lucas. Am I supposed to settle for less with Daddy Warbucks?"

Frankie says, "If you think you're getting five million from Victor Kiriakis, think again."

Sophie tells Lucas, "You have my number. You can call me." Hot kiss. Sami's jaw drops as she watches the shenanigans. Streets of love...

"Thanks for last night," says Sophie, "You were great."

"Any time," says Lucas.

Sophie leaves. Sami walks over to Lucas and says, "It didn't take you long to move on did it?"

"Sami," he says, "maybe you should do the same thing."

"I already have. You're not the only one with a new job," says Sami.

Lucas can't believe it, "Somebody hired you?"

"Yeah," says Sami, "It's a start up company. I'll be working at the right hand of the CEO."

"Who would hire you," asks Lucas.

"Your brother Austin," she says. Lucas stares.

Chelsea tells Billie, "You're following me again."

"No," says Billie, "I came over here to talk to Bo. What's the secret?"

"It's no big deal," says Bo.

"It was a big deal to me," says Chelsea, "Thanks DAD. See you Billie." She throws the money in a wheelbarrow and struggles out the door with the heavy load.

Bo and Billie chat about their darling daughter. Then they talk about Jack. Bo thinks Billie should give Chelsea a little time. A little cash would be more effective.

"In her eyes I'm the bad guy," says Billie, "I refuse to spoil her."

"I don't think giving her a gift now and then spoils her. We have to trust her a little more," says Bo.

"I'm glad you talked to her," says Billie, "She can talk to you."

"I don't want her going to Lockhart for anything," says Bo.

"Last night Patrick was just comforting her," says Billie.

Bo asks, "How can you be so sure he's not coming on to her?"

Billie says, "I know because Patrick has been coming on to me." Bo is ready to join the Kate Roberts 'Just Shoot Me Now' club.

Jennifer and Hope are at the spa. Jennifer is in shock, "Hope, these prices are outrageous."

"I promise you it won't break the bank," says Hope, "I'm not taking 'no' for an answer,"

"What would I do without you," says Jennifer.

"You'll never have to find out," says Hope.

Jennifer says she will get a basic massage and then head home. Hope says, "Jack made me promise I'd keep you here. Why do you think there is something else Jack is not telling you?"

Jack is on the computer, "This is it! This is definitely the way to go. As long as Jennifer doesn't find out."

"So Austin," says Mickey, "Carolina will get your incorporation papers."

Austin says, "Thanks Mickey."

Mickey says, "Your business plans are ambitious. I'd like to give you some ideas. If you're as successful in business as I am as an attorney, you're company will go down in flames in no time."

Nicole is ballistic. She isn't going to accept some meager settlement from Victor. Austin overhears. He tells her, "I was impressed with what you did for Titan."

Mickey takes Frankie aside and tells him, "Didn't I tell you she was something to handle?" Mickey introduces Frankie to Austin.

Austin asks for a word with Nicole in private.

Lucas asks, "Austin hired you?"

"Yes," says Sami, "We are going to compete with Basic Black and Titan. We will be very successful." Yeah, and Mrs. Murphy's Nursery School has challenged the New England Patriots to a football game this week, too.

"He made a mistake if you ask me," says Lucas.

Sami whines, "Why can't you be happy for me Lucas? You want to see me fail!"

"I want to see you succeed for Will," says Lucas, "You and Austin together... given your damn history?"

"He stood by me," says Sami, "I can pay him back. He will live with me and work from my apartment."

Lucas asks, "Are you saying he is moving in?"

"That is exactly what I am saying."

Belly laugh.

Billie assures Bo Patrick isn't coming on to Chelsea, "I'm not eighteen. If you can't trust Patrick at least trust me."

Bo says, "It's your life. I can't do anything about it. If you are wrong about the Boy Scout, though, our daughter will be the one to suffer."

Chelsea comes into the spa. She remembers Bo's words, "Don't spend it all in one place." She says, "What the heck. You only live once."

Jennifer can't stop thinking about Jack, "I can't put my finger on it. He is so worried about Abby and me. He will try to find some way to soften the blow for us."

"This won't be easy," says Jack, "I will need some help." He dials, "Luckily I know just who to call." Billie answers. Jack says, "Billie, I need to see you right away. It's a matter of life and death."

Mickey is glad Frankie is there. Frankie tells him, "I'm just glad to be working with you again. "

"That's right," says Mickey, "We worked together on the hospital fundraiser. That was some time ago. It seems like a lifetime. Or a couple of months in DOOL time. But I'm glad to have you here. My caseload is getting pretty heavy. There is the Kiriakis divorce, and It seems Marlena has asked John black for a divorce. On top of all that, I heard about Jack. It's terrible."

"I want to make sure Jack's things are in order," says Frankie.

"Everything. Totally," says Mickey, "I'm glad you are here for both of them. Jennifer says you have been a real comfort. A long time ago Maggie and I thought you and Jennifer would be married."

"It didn't quite work out," says Frankie.

"I hope you will be there for her. After Jack's gone," says Mickey.

"I will, Mickey, I promised Jack I would," says Frankie.

Nicole thinks it's great Austin is starting his own company. Austin says, "I'm hoping to eventually compete against Basic Black and Titan. I will need help. I was impressed by what you did for Titan. You not only kept it running but posted higher profits than ever before."

"Brady and I had great chemistry," says Nicole, "Now I am down and out."

"Maybe not for long," says Austin, "I have a proposition for you."

Lucas says, "I don't care if Austin is moving in. It won't take long until you are at each other's throats."

Sami insists, "Austin and I are friends."

"You don't have any friends Sami," says Lucas, "I heard you threatening Nicole. What do you have on her? Why don't you give her a break?"

Sami says, "If she stays out of my face, she won't have any problems. Speaking of floozies, I hope Will didn't see you with Sophie. I think he should be with his mother."

Lucas says, "He doesn't want to be with his mother. The only person you have to blame is yourself." Sami runs off.

Billie arrives at the Devereaux House of Doom. Jack says, "Thank you for helping me out. I need you to keep a big secret. Promise me you'll keep it to the grave."

"No," says Billie, "I hated keeping that secret form Jennifer. Please don't do this to me again."

"All right," says Jack, "I won't."

Billie does a 180, "I can't just refuse you. What is it?"

Jack asks, "Will you promise to keep the secret?"

"Yes I promise," says Billie.

"As long as you live? No matter what," asks Jack.

"As long as I live," says Billie, "No matter what. Come on. What is it?"

Bo opens his wallet. A couple of bucks and that's it. Bo says, "Hope and Billie will get rally cranky when they find out I gave more money to Chelsea."

Chelsea tells the attendant, "I'm going with the Platinum Package."

The attendant asks, "Will that be cash or charge?"

"Cash," says Chelsea. Hope watches as Chelsea hands the attendant a wad.

Austin returns to the apartment. He tells Sami the meeting at Mickey's office was great. He got the paperwork done, "I hired a new Executive VP. It's someone you will have to report to."

"Who is my new boss," she asks."

Nicole appears at the door, "Hi Sami. Say hello to you new boss!" A lead balloon crashes down on Sami's life.

Lucas walks up. "Oh yeah, this can't miss."

Frankie says he will do the best he can for Nicole. If he's as good as Mickey, Nicole will wind up paying alimony to Victor.

"Maybe Nicole can pick up the pieces and move on," says Mickey.

Frankie says, "I just hope Jen can do the same."

Jennifer vows to make every second count, "Maybe a miracle can happen. Maybe they can find a cure. Anything is possible as long as Jack is still alive."

Billie swears an oath to absolute secrecy, "What do you want me to do?"

"Nothing much," says Jack, "I need you to help me commit suicide." FF.
