Sheer Torture

EJ pours the J&B as Nicole tells him she never wanted this to happen. He rants against Dr. Baker. Nicole cowers, "Are you enjoying yourself?"

EJ blows up, "AM I ENJOYING MYSELF? You didn't give birth – you purchased a baby. And I'd guess Dr. Baker's services didn't come cheap."

"You wanted a child," whines Nicole, "and we have one and the only thing that could ruin this dream is you. And my big mouth, of course."

EJ asks, "What are you going to do when someone shows up at our door asking for her back?"

"That won't happen," says Nicole, "That baby is Sydney Anne DiMera and nothing will change that."

"I must admit," says EJ, "I've been wondering what her middle name was."

Sami meets Phillip at Chez Rouge and asks if he's having trouble bonding with his new stepdaddy. Phillip doesn't appreciate her lame attempt at humor, but thanks her for helping get Lucas into rehab.

"With everything that happened to me... even with Grace," says Sami, "he was (say it with her) there for me. A lot has happened to him, too, including the fact that his mom poisoned his cheating wife. It seems like there are never consequences for Kate."

"There will be," growls Phillip.

Bo reminisces about his relationship with Hope. In spite of that, he and Justin are able to finish their meal. Bo thinks maybe he and hope pushed things too far after Zack died.

Carly sits on the plane and flashes back to her last moments with Lawrence. He forbids her to leave and she tells him to stay away from her. Then she slices and dices. Carly pops out of it and drones, "Bo can help me. I know he can. He has to."

Bo decides he wants to change the subject. He asks when Justin is going back to Dubai. Justin says he's possibly not going back and tells Bo he and Adrian are going through hard times themselves. Bo gets phillysofikle, "It's weird when you love someone but that person takes you completely by surprise."

Carly swills drinks on the plane and remembers those thrilling days of yesteryear when she told Lawrence she wanted to be with him. Then she remembers shanking the SOB.

Phillip gives Kate a nasty look across the room. Kate notices, "Phillip thinks you married as payback for Tony." Stefano tells her that isn't true and is indignant that she could even think such a thing.

Carly tries to sleep on the plane.

William Shakespeare reminds us, "This would be a good place for one of my famous quotes:

"To sleep, perchance to dream.
To dream, perchance to flash back."

Carly flashes back to another plane as she and Lawrence vow to have a great life.

Nicole tells EJ she didn't want any of this to happen. He asks why she didn't just come to him. She says she would have if she knew he loved her, "But it wasn't you... It was me."

EJ consults the Guy Manual: "When she says, 'It wasn't you... It was me' you can bet your last dime it was you."

Nicole claims their love started with the baby and then they became happy, "Think about it... I did the right thing."

Carly sleeps. She dreams about Bo protecting her and fighting Lawrence. Turbulence wakes her. She picks up the seat phone and says, "Operator, I'd like a number in Salem." The operator complies, picks a Salem number at random and gives it to her.

Stefano tells Kate Phillip is acting like a spoiled child. Kate says, "He's acting like a child who has been badly hurt, but fortunately we live in an age of technology and spare body parts can remedy that." She tells Stefano she wants to go. Stefano says it's too late for that.

Phillip walks up and taunts, "You having second thoughts, Mrs. DiMera? He can put you on display whenever he feels like it. This won't stop. You think he didn't know I would be here? It's only just begun. This is your life." Phillip says he can't forgive her and leaves.

Just when you thought it was safe to eat your lunch, Chloe and Daniel walk in.

EJ and Nicole continue to argue. "I wanted my own child," growls EJ.

Nicole whines, "You have your own child. Could you be any more self-absorbed? I couldn't bear to see you hurt so I lied to you. And that made you the happiest you have ever been. I turned myself inside out for you. And all you can see is she is not your biological daughter."

Maggie seats the two dwarfs Whiny and Gropey. Kate sees that and decides she really wants to leave, but Stefano tells her not to give Chloe the satisfaction of seeing her run.

Daniel says he has something for Chloe. He reaches under the table and digs for the present. "You might have better luck finding it," says Chloe if you tried fumbling for it in your pocket rather than under my skirt."

Daniel holds up a box. Chloe opens it to find a key to Daniel's apartment. Virginal Chloe, pure as the driven snow, gasps, "I thought we were going to wait!"

That doesn't suit Daniel, "Let's wait together. It will be sheer torture, but I will love every minute of it." Dr. Jonas moves in for a radical tonsillectomy.

Out in the audience, Fern and Goldie regret the fact that they weren't paying attention when the usher announced barf bags were located in the seat pockets in front of them.

"I can't take this," huffs Kate, "I'm leaving!" She gets up and starts out on a dead run but...

DOWN GOES STEFANO!

Even the bug guy can't handle the tongue lashing Daniel is puttin' on Chloe.

Sami sits at Grace's grave and rambles. She says she's trying to be strong but there is a part of her, one of her other 127 personalities that just can't ever be whole again.

Nicole tells EJ he has to love Sydney and be happy, "She may not be our biological daughter but she is ours. You have to believe that."

A hotel attendant comes into the room and discovers Lawrence. He checks him out and gasps, "OMG, he's dead!"

Bo gets a call. Carly asks, "Bo?"

Bo asks, "Hello, who is this?"

Stefano lies unconscious on the floor. Dr. Daniel to the rescue! He works on resuscitating Stefano. As Daniel pumps away, Stefano looks up and asks, "Are you groping me?"

Kate plays the part of the distraught wife, "What's wrong?"

"That depends on what you did to him," says Maggie.

Sami blathers, "There is a hole in my heart... to match the one in my head." Will shows up. He says he comes out here about once a week because it makes him feel close to Grace. Sami spirals into despair and says last night she dreamed Grace was in a swing laughing but then she started crying and Sami held her, "It felt so good to hold her again even if it was just a dream."

Nicole bounces in with Sydney as EJ steams, "EJ, it wasn't a lie. My love for both of you is very real. She's been the center of our lives and she may not be our biological child but she is ours in our hearts and souls. You believe that don't you?"

EJ blows his stack, "She's not my daughter and she never will be."

Turbulence hits the plane and Carly loses the connection, "Are you there?"

Bo looks confused as Justin asks, "Who is it?"

Daniel pumps. The medics arrive and Daniel tells Chloe he's not sure Stefano will make it. They wheel him out and Daniel calls the hospital.

As the gurney disappears, Kate sees Chloe and Maggie soaking it all in, "What are you two staring at. Maybe you could offer comfort to the distraught widow."

"Don't be sad just because he didn't drop dead on the spot," says Chloe.

"Keep up the good work," taunts Maggie, "The next heart attack will do him in."

Kate hits back, "You go to hell. Both of you. I'll look you up when I get there."

Nicole continues to insist Sydney is EJ's daughter. EJ tells her to back off. Nicole begs, "Look at us and tell me she is not your daughter."

Sami apologizes to Will for falling apart. Will tells her it's OK. He's used to it. Sami says she knows he's going through a lot with his dad and Mia. She tells him Mia came by that morning to get her chemistry book, but Sami thinks that was just an excuse to come over. Will asks about Rafe. Sami tells him she's had no word from him since the email, "Promise me you will never dump a girl in an email." Sami figures Rafe is better off without her.

Will insists Sami and Rafe were great together, "I ought to know... I caught you two going at it enough times to be a good judge of that. I know you still love Rafe a lot."

"But he's gone," says Sami, "just like Grace. And they're out of my life and I have to deal with it."

I can't do this," says EJ. He kisses Sydney on the forehead and says he just kissed her for the last time. Nicole whimpers.

Bo says the call came from an airplane, but he didn't get a good read on the voice. Justin wonders if it was Hope, "Maybe she and Ciara went away and now they are flying home... back to you."

Carly takes off her sunglasses. Unfortunately, moving an object that large inside a plane throws it off balance and it goes into a tailspin. Carly once again flashes back to the stabbing. Lawrence lies bleeding and gasps, "You'll never find...

Will places his flowers on Grace's grave. Sami says she has to go pick up the twins and get them to a babysitter. She says they keep asking about Will, "I am so blessed to have my beautiful sweet Allie my funny fearless Johnny and then there's you. You are smart, strong and probably bored to death listening to me. I am lucky to have wonderful children to pawn off on other people." They turn to leave Sami says goodbye to Grace, "If you had been an only child, I don't know how I could have gone on."

Nicole says Sydney needs EJ and is innocent in all this. She tells EJ the reality is they are a family. EJ reminds her she told him Sydney was his flesh and blood but fudged a DNA test and compromised Sydney's safety just to protect the lie.

"It's not a lie," bawls Nicole, "Sydney means the world to me. I love you both and you are my life."

EJ asks, "What would have happened if she got sick and I had given blood. It would all have meant nothing because I have no connection to her."

"You do," says Nicole. She plays her trump card, "You are Sydney's real father."

I loved Lawrance Allamaine (or however it is spelled). Can't believe the killed him off right off the bat.

Not sure I was watching DOOL when Carly was onscreen.

Finally some movement in the baby switcharoo storyline. Now how long will they drag out the paternity???

Oh the soapiness of it all. This is the perfect time for a writers strike!!

Why do the writers think we still believe these attempts at fooling into going where they're trying to lead us?

Carly tries to sleep on the plane.

William Shakespeare reminds us, "This would be a good place for one of my famous quotes:
"To sleep, perchance to dream.
To dream, perchance to flash back."

Methinks that’s more like a quote from Prevuze Shakespeare – Willie’s lesser known but snarkier relative.

"Operator, I'd like a number in Salem." The operator complies, picks a Salem number at random and gives it to her.

When someone answers, Carly takes on her wacky morning DJ persona and asks “is your refrigerator running?”

Kate says, "He's acting like a child who has been badly hurt, but fortunately we live in an age of technology and spare body parts can remedy that."

I assume that the last part of the quote should have been italicized because the DOOL writers are absolutely incapable of coming up with such interesting dialogue.

Dr. Jonas moves in for a radical tonsillectomy.

Out in the audience, Fern and Goldie regret the fact that they weren't paying attention when the usher announced barf bags were located in the seat pockets in front of them.

Hopefully, Fern and Goldie won’t make that mistake a second time.

"You do," says Nicole. She plays her trump card, "You are Sydney's real father."

Did I miss a month? Is it already November? Nope, today is only October 5 so that means that the ever so clever DOOL creative team is once again trying to fool the viewers into thinking the baby switch fiasco is finally over. Since the delusional writers create delusional characters, they apparently expect the audience to be equally delusional as well as endlessly gullible. It’s time they looked into fables put together by a guy named Aesop. When they find the fable with the word “wolf” in the title, it should be required reading. Geez.

I’m thinking that compressions are not the best emergency treatment for a diabetic coma. Killing Stefano by encouraging an inappropriate diet would be right up Kate’s alley. She wouldn’t even have to worry about leaving around rubber gloves as evidence. DiMera Enterprises had better watch out for a hostile take over by Kate! Could be fun!

Since Nicole has played the "you ARE the daddy" card, I'm guessing her follow-up to that will be a story about using his sperm and a surrogate. We'll see...

“It seems like there are never consequences for Kate."

True. On the other hand, looking at it phillysofickly, when your life consists of butting into your kids' business and with sons like Lucas & Philip who disown you every other day, what worse consequences could there be?

Carly…remembers those thrilling days of yesteryear when she told Lawrence she wanted to be with him

Which is the good thing about not recasting. You get to see flashbacks that are “real” and not obvious do-overs using a recast actor. I don’t care how much make-up you use on the actor or how many filters you stick on the camera lens, a 40-50 year old will not look like their 20 year old self.

Which may cause some problems with any Bo/Carly flashbacks. I think the Carly era was when the other actor was playing Bo.

Out in the audience, Fern and Goldie regret....

I bet the folks sitting in front of them weren’t thrilled about it either.

He works on necessitating Stefano. As Daniel pumps away, Stefano looks up and asks, "Are you groping me?"

Great Prevuism. Is "necessitating Stephano" something like Bo being Phillysofikle?

Very nice boost on this Monday. Thanks!

Oops. Well, here's how that works. The following is the guarantee of accuracy you get with every single Prevuze post:

"That won't happen," says Nicole, "That baby is Sydney Anne DiMera and nothing will change that."

Anybody else catch that little Sydney's initials are SAD? I wonder if this was another hackneyed attempt by the DOOL chimpanzee...er writing team to appear all philosophical-like, or just a coincidence...

And going back to Friday's show (busy at work and didn't get to catch up on my daily Snark-fest until this morning - with a bonus Saturday post in there as well), Prevuze questioned whether Maggie offers a kiddie-care service for her employees. Of course she does - it's called Alice! Something's gotta' be keeping her busy these days...

Word verification - minessa. Add another a at the beginning and it's what every DOOL character has at one time or another (amnesia)

"With everything that happened to me...even with Grace," says Sami, "he(Loserclueless)was there for me." When was that, Sami? When he and Kate gaslighted you with the Will doll and tried to get you to run off a cliff or when they left you to die on death row? Or was it one of the too-numerous-to-count times he pulled your name from his disownment Rolodex?

Why doesn't Nicole insist EJ have a paternity test taken at the lab of his choice? Oh waitaminute, that would speed things along too quickly.

LOL over Carly's sunglasses tipping the plane and Bo reminisces about his relationship with Hope. In spite of that, he and Justin are able to finish their meal. My favorite, tho: Maggie seats the two dwarfs Whiny and Gropey. HAHAHAHAHA

The sun is out and Prevuze had no technical snafus. That's the best you can hope for on a Monday. Thanks! :D

Okay okay... save me a google wiki search and who are Carly and Lawrence??

Whiney and Gropey!!! - LOL. I love Prevuze!

I really am starting to fell bad for EJ. Grace dies, he finds out it was 'his' baby. Sad. Now, he finds out this baby isn't 'his.' Sad. And then to find out it is his, and Nicole lied again, sad. I know it's fiction, but I think it's really sad. I feel bad for Chad and Mia, too. Come on November!
