A True Whore

Chloe waits behind her curtain of fear. Daniel rushes back in and tells her he's there to make things right.

Carly comes in. Melanie tags along. Carly stops him from opening the curtain. Chloe cowers. Daniel tells Carly, "This is just common courtesy. Why would you think otherwise?"

Doug joins Julie at Bo and Hope's house. Julie tells him something has happened with Hope, "She's in trouble. It's very bad."

Nicole is shocked to see Dr Baker alive. Hope walks in. Baker sees her, "Hope?" A surplus of stares descends on the police station.

Daniel asks Melanie to go find sister Anne. Carly stops her and says she can translate. She forbids him to open the curtain.

Baker backpedals and says detective Brady doesn't know him, but he knows her. Bo thinks it's more than that. "I do know this man," says Hope.

Baker booms, "Hey, lady, come on, you've seen me because we both live in the same town."

Roman says Baker is the break in the case he told Bo about earlier, "He bought the stuff to torch your place. Let's see how much he wants to talk." He turns to Baker, "You're either the perpetrator or an accomplice. You're either going to get fifteen years or life. What's it gonna be?"

"I definitely know him." says Hope.

Carly says Daniel seeing the patient would upset her, "She is from the middle east, and can't show her face to any man but her husband." Daniel wonders why she would be doing a risky procedure now. Carly explains, "She had serious doubts about her husband and turned to someone else. Now she's getting back together with her husband. Her relationship is on the line."

"I see," says Daniel, "She can't show her face to any man except her husband but can get naked, down and dirty with the first guy that comes along. That makes sense." Carly continues to insist. Daniel gives up and takes Melanie to see his burn patient. Carly flips the curtains open. Let the paternity screening begin...

Melanie and Daniel talk about Carly's immigrant work, which Daniel knew nothing about. "I don't believe her," says Melanie.

Julie tells Doug there was a lot of tension when she was there with Bo and Hope. Ciara wakes and asks for Mommy.

Hope says she saw Baker on the pier during her investigations. Baker is too quick to agree. Hope can't remember anything else. Baker says there is no other reason she would know him, "She's not involved."

"Yes I am," says Hope.

Bo stops her and asks for a moment, "You have to think before you speak."

"Thinking isn't my style," says Hope, "I'm the one who tried to kill Bo."

Melanie says she doesn't think Carly is lying, because her lips have stopped moving.

Chloe thanks Saint Carly for what she has done, "If the baby is Daniel's, we can all relax." Carly stays silent. Chloe whimpers, "OMG you're not gonna back out of our deal again, right?"

Ciara wants her mommy. Caroline arrives looking for Bo. Doug tells her Bo has left. Caroline says she's there to apologize. She tells Doug about yesterday. Julie holds Ciara.

Hope drones, "It's true. It was me. I'm responsible for all the muggings. My next victim was going to be Bo, except this time I was going to kill him."

Baker chimes in, "I'm a doctor. This woman isn't well."

Roman bares his fangs, "Get this man's ass a chair!"

"We don't have chairs that big," says Officer Krupke.

Hope continues to insist she is guilty. She apologizes to Bo, who sloughs it off. Roman thinks this doesn't make sense. He doesn't know how to handle it when he actually catches a criminal. Bo thinks Baker is Hope's accomplice. He tells Roman they shouldn't be doing this out where they are, so he and Roman decide to take things into the inquisition chamber. They leave. Nicole sweats.

Inside, Roman asks what this is all about.

Outside, any thought that crosses Nicole's mind goes straight to her mouth. As she rambles, Brady leaves her side and walks over to Baker.

POW!

A cop immediately grabs Brady as Baker drops like DOOL ratings in sweeps month. His ass never found a chair, so it found the floor instead.

The cop gets a death grip on Brady, "Why did you do that?"

"With Lucas Horton out of town," says Brady, "Someone has to step up to the plate and be the cowardly Salem sucker-puncher."

Carly tells Chloe she will remain faithful to her word. She leaves. Chloe prays, "Lord, now that I've sewn my wild oats, please let there be a crop failure."

Sister Anne lectures Josie the dimwit. Josie leaves and sister Anne tells Melanie it was a pleasure to meet her. She offers her a job at St. Mary's.

Roman goes off the record. Then he goes off the wall. He says he doesn't buy the fact that Hope was trying to kill Bo. Hope says it's true. Bo backs up her confession. Roman asks, "You do this knowing full well that she could be put away for life?"

"I look forward to it," says Bo.

Baker rubs his jaw, "This is not my day." Brady continues to rant and scream. Baker yells, "Hey, do I ever get a lawyer? I think I lost a tooth."

Brady wants to know what Nicole's part in this is.

Baker turns to Nicole and whispers, "Not a good day for you, is it? How come Brady dragged you down here? Are you in trouble?"

Nicole grits her teeth, "Not unless someone decides to be a rat bastard and take me down with him."

"I won't," says Baker, "But the question is... is Brady giving you up for something?"

Chloe has just seen her baby on the ultrasound. Carly tells her they will know soon. Chloe asks when that will be. Carly takes out her smart phone and shows her dumb accomplice a date on the calendar. "That's my birthday," says Chloe, "I hate winter and I've always hated the fact I was born in December." Carly assures Chloe there will be confidentiality.

Julie has dumped Ciara in the kitchen with milk and cookies. Caroline tells them about her visit. Julie riles against Carly and mentions the pills, "I told Hope to stop taking them and I assumed she did."

"Poor kid," says Doug. Caroline wonders how this affects Ciara.

"It's teaching her to drown her sorrows in high calorie comfort food," says Julie.

Bo refuses to blab until Hope has a lawyer. Hope insists she will admit her guilt. None of this makes sense to Roman — As usual. He tells them Baker is the baby switcher, "I'm going to charge him with so many crimes I'll probably run out of paper, and he was involved in the attempt on your life. To hell with this plan to let Hope take the blame."

Hope says Bo has proof it was her. She asks Bo to show the video, "It was me! Please just show him." Bo pulls out the tape and dramatically drops it on the table, "This will explain everything."

Baker asks, "What does Brady know? How you framed his girlfriend. I won't talk, but my guess is if Brady knows, he's talking to the cops right now."

Brady comes out and asks Nicole to come with him.

Chloe says she doesn't know if she can wait. Carly says, "If the test comes out that Phillip is the father, I don't know how I will be able to face Daniel or Melanie. And this is, after all, all about me."

Sister Anne again offers Melanie a job, "St. Mary's has very high standards and is known for its quality of care. In fact, we're so good, we need to bring our ratings down a notch and with you on board, that would be easy to do." Melanie says she is flattered, but wants to work with her parents. Until she hates them again. Sister Anne, bucking to become Saint Anne, is soooo understanding.

Brady and Nicole are back at her hovel. Nicole says she is grateful he has given her this opportunity to explain. She kisses him. Brady doesn't kiss back.

Roman watches the video. He stops it midway, "What is this?"

Bo tells him about the pills and their side effects. Roman wonders what reason Hope would have to mug people. Bo fast forwards to Hope saying she realized the only man she wanted power over was Bo and wants to see him dead.

Roman shuts it off, "I've heard enough." Hope says she loves Roman and he's one of the best friends she has, "What I've done is unforgivable. I'm sorry."

Hope bawls. Sensitive, understanding Roman hugs her, "Being friends means never having to say you're sorry..."

Bo steps up and apologizes to Roman, "It's because of me all this happened."

As she leaves, Sister Anne tells Melanie, "About the job offer... call me if you change your mind."

"I change my mind as often as I change the oil in my car. Only with my mind, the crankcase is empty." Carly comes up. Melanie says Daniel has left. Sister Anne takes off. Melanie and Carly go for coffee.

Chloe rushes out of her room. She gets into the elevator. Unfortunately, after her fling with Lucas, elevators give her acute horniness and she rushes back off. As the doors close behind her she sees...

DANIEL!

Nicole says she didn't tell Brady about the money because he would think the worst of her. Brady wonders if she blackmailed someone. Nicole promises she will never lie about this. Abusive Brady pushes her away, "Do you know what a true whore is? It's not someone that just sells her body, but sells her soul, too. You did that years ago. You lie, cheat, steal and have no self-respect. And I let myself believe in you. I thought my love could change you."

"It has," blubbers Nicole, "Brady, please stop!"

"Get someone else to pull your scams on because my eyes are open," screams Brady, "You are dead to me!" Brady's really getting into the abuse thing now. He slams her onto the bed and turns to leave.

Doug, Julie and Caroline continue to speculate about what is going on. Ciara comes in and asks if her mommy will ever come back. Julie hugs her, "Oh, sweetie..."

Bo and Hope argue about who's fault this was. "No one is to blame but me," says Hope, "You and Roman know what you need to do. Arrest me."

Carly and Melanie sit on a couch, have coffee and Melanie tells Carly what she said to sister Anne about her. She says she's impressed Carly has been doing volunteer work, "I'm proud of you."

"I hope you always feel that way," says Carly.

Chloe tells Daniel she came there to see him and since the opera tickets have magically appeared out of nowhere, she wants to spend the day with him. Daniel wonders how she found him. She says she called the hospital and they looked at his schedule, "Is that OK."

Daniel smiles, "You went to all that trouble... of course it's OK."

Nicole grabs Brady. Cruel Brady flicks her away, "Don't cry... it's over!" He leaves. Nicole grovels on the floor...

"BRADY..."

Hope asks for a few minutes alone with Bo. Roman leaves. Hope says, "Do what you know is right. Just do it. Read me my rights."

Bo gulps, "Hope Brady, you are under arrest for six muggings and one attempted murder. You have the right to remain silent... which, of course, you've already blown that to hell."

Oh! A triple shot! Bo! Hope! Julie and Ciara! Such artistry! Alert the people in the Louvre there will be a new video exhibit!

Dispensing with the charade of a trial, Bo starts to lead Hope off to the lethal injection chamber. But, wait! Mayor Abe Carver comes in and stops the proceedings, "Princess Hope, we know you were just doing undercover work and, of course, the pills made you do everything, so, instead of punishing you, I'm granting a pardon and presenting you with the key to the city, a citation for bravery and I'm promoting you to Assistant Commissioner. Well-done, officer!"

Carly flips the curtains open. Let the paternity screening begin...

What’s the point in doing a pre-natal paternity test? The procedure carries some risk to the unborn child, and it’s not like Chloe is going to opt for an abortion if the baby turns out to be fathered by Phillip.

Baker says there is no other reason she would know him, "She's not involved."

Good grief – baby switching, illegal gambling/adoption Dr. Baker is throwing himself under the bus for Hope. By this time, he’s probably asking himself why he returned to Salem. I can’t believe the writers resurrected Dr. Baker to be part of this silliness.

Baker chimes in, "I'm a doctor. This woman isn't well."

Why did it take him so long to come up with that diagnosis?

"With Lucas Horton out of town," says Brady, "Someone has to step up to the plate and be the cowardly Salem sucker-puncher."

Someone’s gotta do it.

She offers her a job at St. Mary's.

Nice – just what we want. Nurses hired without an application review or a background check.

Roman watches the video. He stops it midway, "What is this?"

…another Ridley Scott epic that’s destined to tank at the box office.

You lie, cheat, steal and have no self-respect.

Those are Nicole’s good points.

Holy smokes, this is cliffhanger Friday. I can hardly wait. Yeah, right. Sounds like a good time – not! To think I was overjoyed about the return of Dr. Baker. What a waste – grrrrr! Of course, then there’s Brady whose insta-love was supposed to change Nicole. I’m sure he can find a pill or twelve to pop that will make things seem a whole lot better.

Thanks, Prevuze for starting starting my day with a number of a hilarious asides. I loved "His ass never found a chair, so it found the floor instead." Cheers!!

Loved your observations, too, Leslie. Especially your point about nurses being hired on a whim!

Carly says Daniel seeing the patient would upset her, "She is from the middle east, and can't show her face to any man but her husband."

That’s quick thinking on Carly’s part and does make sense.

Daniel wonders why she would be doing a risky procedure now.

And what the hell business is it of his??

Roman thinks this doesn't make sense. He doesn't know how to handle it when he actually catches a criminal.

LOL. It IS about the first time they’ve actually brought the real perp into the station. Of course, it wasn’t due to any police work on their part. It was just Hopeless’s inability to get the job done that led to Bo overpowering her.

With Lucas Horton out of town," says Brady, "Someone has to step up to the plate and be the cowardly Salem sucker-puncher."

Besides, Baker was probably handcuffed. On top of not expecting it, he couldn’t have punched back if he’d wanted to.

She offers her a job at St. Mary's.

What kind of job Prevuze? She hasn’t graduated from nursing school yet.

Chloe has just seen her baby on the ultrasound.

Why were they doing an ultrasound? Unless they wanted to see the position of the fetus when they stuck the hypodermic into Chloe’s abdomen to collect the amniotic fluid, I don’t know why they would throw in this expensive procedure. Yeah, I know, it's DAZE.

I'm pleased and surprised that there was a feed today. I just read something in the latest SOD mag that DAYS was being pre-empted on Friday. If that's correct, we might have to steel ourselves for no feed tomorrow.

Finally, great pictures as always you guys. (And my husband thought I was testy during that time of the month.) LOLOL

Roman asks, "You do this knowing full well that she could be put away for life?" Gee, Pard, I don't know. Whatever you'd do IF IT WASN'T ST. HOPE OR ONE OF YOUR OTHER RELATIVES.

I did enjoy Bo's comeback:"I look forward to it."

So we all had the same thought - the nun offered Melanie a job without even knowing anything about her? She could be the dunce of her class. Hmmm...waitaminute...what am I saying? HAHAHAHA

Caroline wonders how this affects Ciara. "It's teaching her to drown her sorrows in high calorie comfort food," says Julie. Much like the cookies they were always stuffing in poor Claire's mouth. Stuck on a boat with Shawn and Belle she must be as big as a barn by now.

And DEJA VU ALL OVER AGAIN!!: Nicole grovels and bawls on the floor... "BRADY"... Please substitute Sami bawling on the floor yelling ("AUSTIN!" "LUCAS!" "BRANDON!" "EJ!" "RAFE!")

Thank you, Prevuze, for getting us to AFD. (Almost Friday Day). :D

I'm sure St. Mary's would be really concerned about hiring her if she had been the Internet's "Premiere Party Girl" or a world famous Internet porn star or something. Oops. Waitaminute. You're right. Perhaps they'd better do just a bit of background checking. But at least she never did something like turning tricks to support her sleazy father's gambling addictio...

Yeah, Salem General is the place for Melanie.

You lie, cheat, steal and have no self-respect.

Those are Nicole’s good points.

Dang. Wish that would have been a Prevuzism.

She offers her a job at St. Mary's.

What kind of job Prevuze? She hasn’t graduated from nursing school yet.

See above. Maybe St. Mary's thinks Premiere Party Girl is a hot property.

Much like the cookies they were always stuffing in poor Claire's mouth. Stuck on a boat with Shawn and Belle she must be as big as a barn by now.

How appropriate since she was conceived in a barn.
