An Old Story

It's getting to be an old story, but the Prevuze satellite equipment bombed out again this morning. Forgoing a long, convoluted diatribe about the problem I can narrow it down to a short, convoluted diatribe: The equipment seems to be working properly, just not working on the DOOL channel. So Norris, the only satellite technician around, would prefer to diagnose the problem as the feed comes in. Unfortunately, this channel only feeds in the wee hours of the morning, and Norris refuses to come over here while the bars are still open.

He gave me a few things to try. So this morning I got up in the wee hours and tried them. Obviously, they didn't work.

All I can say is I'll call Norris later today and get him out here to see what he can do without seeing the feed. In the meantime, I'll continue to check in and keep you updated.

So, there you have it. The bad news: no feed. The good news: I still have time to join Norris over at our local version of the Cheatin' Heart and have some... uh... breakfast.

Why does this always seem to happen on a Monday?

To get Norris out, perhaps Prevuze needs to open the Best Sport Blog on the Internet Bar and Grill. Of course, you'll need an all night liquor license. Since she'll be out of a job by the end of the week, you can get Felisha Terrell to manage the place for you.

Sigh, bummer, drag - to make matters worse, we're having a stormy dreary day in the Windy City. Gosh Prevuze we feel your pain. For that matter, Tiger Woods must also be feeling your pain. There you have it - proof positive that Prevuze is the best sport blog on the Internet!

Monday, lightning & thunder & rain, no Prevuze. How much worse can the day get?!!

I do heartily thank Prevuze for the pictures. That little bit of snark will at least get me into work.

It's pouring here, too. A real toad-strangler.

Which is also the sensation when there's no Prevuze. Altho I did enjoy the pictures, especially the Salem Sleazebucket. :D

We can only pray the satellite is all fixed up by tomorrow!

For someone who thinks golf is boring, you sure seem to be up to speed with everything that's going on. Can we expect you to come out of the (golf) closet soon?

A WHAT?

Note to self: The next time it's raining on DOOL, it's not pouring, it's not raining cats and dogs, it's not even a gully-washer. It's a TOAD-STRANGLER.

It was a dark and stormy night. In fact, it wasn't just stormy, it was a toad strangler...

Nobel Prize for literature, here I come.

I am a retired TV station Chief Engineer and well familiar with satellite reception. Being digital, the signal problems appear to be caused by low signal strength. You can install a stronger LNB, or re-aim the dish. Your best choice is to install a dish rotor that allows you to aim the dish whenever it moves or the satellite shifts. They are not that expensive and might solve your problem.

Fred: Thanks. If you would email me at prevuze@gmail.com I might have a couple more questions.

Being one of the few people who still purchases a newspaper, this morning I was assaulted with a sports headline that reads as follows: Y. E. Yang rallies to beat errant Woods, becomes first Asian to win major. If you read a paper, listen to the radio, and/or watch television news, it's impossible to avoid all things that are Tiger. I also work with a guy who keeps trying to tell me that golf is the most difficult sport in the world. What he's trying to sell me I'm not buying. Just how long would John Daly last on a soccer field? Yes, that's just another bit of information that a non-golf person shouldn't know. What can I say? Knowledge is power. Anyway, that comment now makes Prevuze the best sports talk blog on the Internet.

I don't know. As an avid player of both hockey and golf, I've got to say that from an athletic standpoint, hockey is harder. From a skills standpoint and being able to make a golf ball do what the pros can make it do (as opposed to me who shanks every third shot into the trees) I've gotta' agree with your coworker that golf is one difficult sport.

Prevuze® - Still the best darn sports blog on the Internet.

PS - Word verification = aticalui. Maybe the nickname of Luclueless's next-cell neighbor (Attica Louis)?

About as long as Michael Jordan lasted trying to become a pro golfer? Or was that baseball? Or both?

Sorry, Leslie. Gotta go with WingNut and your coworker on that one. Perhaps we should say golf is the most difficult skill in the world.

I'm sure you know, on a golf course, the "S-Word" is "Shank." One does not even whisper it in polite company for fear of putting that terrifying idea into someone's head. Then one day I actually found myself playing the "SHANK" Golf Course. The psychological impact was overwhelming. It may be the most inappropriately named golf course in the world.

Prevuze - Best ramblin' about anything because we didn't get a feed today blog on the Internet®

Nothing intelligent to add about DOOL. Although - DOOL/Intelligent - is an oxymoron if I've ever seen one.

And speaking of weird English phrases, my word verification is "gonog". A very nice, if nonsensical, palidrome.

KOTU - the best "I can ramble about stuff about as well as anyone in the absence of Prevuze to comment on" commentor on the Internet®.

I suppose you would all like to know I have contacted Norris (Who, by the way, owns several golf courses, two of which have been purchased directly from the proceeds of working on the Prevuze satellite dish). The good news is he will be here Thursday morning. The bad news he has made an appointment with his Bentley dealer on Friday to "trade up" as he put it.

He said he'll let me know if he has a change of plans, but the only thing that might prevent him from coming here is some King of Prussia commitments. I told him I had no idea he worked as far away as King of Prussia, PA. Then he told me he doesn't work there. Rather, he purchased the country of Prussia and had himself named King.

Oh My! I am new to this site, only got a little skimming in so far (can't wait to dig more) and this is hilarous! Love it! I have been watching DOOL for over 20 years, lol and I am only 31, my mom got me hooked when I was in Kindergarten on my off days ;-) (Thanks mom) Anyways, I have stuck with DOOL for the good, the bad, & of course the ugly. It is finally starting to get better again, goes threw it's phases of good and boring, but finding this site will make it alot more interesting, it is funny to find someone who see's the same humor in this soap as I do. Even though I am a die hard fan, you just have to laugh at some of the scenes and think, WTH were they thinking! lol Ok going to go dig threw some earlier blogs of yours, keep up the great work Prevuze!! Sincerly Jenah
