The Party's Not Over Yet

Chelsea runs from the cops. Abby tells her to pull over. So apparently the girls didn’t wreck, yesterday. Or maybe they did, but it wouldn’t be the first time DOOL writers rewrote history.

Patrick is on the phone, “I know what I need to do. I need more time. Will this put her in any danger? If you don't' tell me, count me out. I don't' care what I owe you.”

Max slides out from under his car, “Sounds like you have a problem on your hands, tough guy.

Patrick says, “You’re gonna forget everything you just heard.”

Jennifer can’t believe Jack would be that careless around a grill. She gets the food together and Frankie gives her a hand.

Billie asks Jack if his hand hurts and he tells her no. Billie says, “It didn’t hurt because you couldn’t feel it. I worked with an ISA agent who had the same symptoms you did. He died but that doesn’t mean you will.”

Jack asks, “How long was it after he showed the symptoms that he died?” Billie doesn’t answer. Jack says, “That quick, huh? I’m gonna have to pick up on my plans. I have to make sure Jennifer is taken care of.”

Billie tells him, “The only way is to tell Jennifer the truth.”

“I won’t do that and that’s final,” says Jack.

Everybody sings happy birthday to Lucas. Sami pops out of a cake. Lucas asks what she is doing there. I just want to give you a birthday you’ll never forget. Julie and Maggie high five as the lovely couple smooches. All stuff we’ve already seen, but it should be firmly established the writers of this show would never drag anything out.

Kate wants to know what’s going on. Julie ‘splains Sami’s giving Lucas a birthday present.

Belle says, “My sister really loves your brother.”

“Not like I love you though,” says Phillip.

“It’s not over yet,” says Sami, “This is just the beginning.” Translation: We’ll be opening our Christmas presents before Lucas plays the tapes.

“This doesn’t change anything,” says Lucas.

Chelsea says she made a decision when she lost he parents. Nobody is going to take anything from her again, “I have a plan.” The plan involves the accelerator.

Sami says, “I just anted to do something nice for your birthday.”

“You can’t expect things to suddenly go away, Sami,” says Lucas.

“I don’t expect that,” says Sami, “I just want to show you how much I want us to be together.”

“You’ve just taken too many steps in the wrong direction. I’m sorry,” Lucas walks away.

Sami walks over and hugs Roman.

Roman tells her, “I just wish your little surprise had more of the affect you were hoping for.”

“Don’t worry, Dad, the party’s not over yet,” she says.

Belle tells Lucas Sami still loves him. Lucas says, “It’s too late... it ended when she decided to sleep with Brandon. I can’t forgive her.”

Eugenia tells Kate, “If I were you, I wouldn’t relax just yet. I don't think Sami’s done yet.”

Julie says, “Kate, It doesn’t look like you’re having a very good time.”

“I’m surprised you helped Sami put this together,” says Kate.

“I think it was sweet and romantic,” says Julie, “Everybody knows those two belong together.”

Kate loved that, “Sami’s a terrible person. She’s up to something.”

“Of course she is,” says Julie, “She wants to win him back.”

“She wants to get back at me,” says Kate.

Julie asks, “What would that be for, Kate?”

Roman tells Sami about the specialist.

Sami says, “The only therapy my mom needs is you.”

“Don't' start, Sami.”

Sami says, “Don’t leave yet. It means a lot you and Kate came.”

“You mean Kate, my wife,” asks Roman.

Sami says, “I understand you’re trying to make things work. I feel badly about all this. I’m sorry.”

“Sami,” says Roman, “You’re up to something. Tell me what it is.”

Frankie asks Jennifer when she learned how to bake.

Jennifer tells him not to touch the brownies. They are for desert.

Jack announces the burgers and his hand are almost finished. Jennifer goes outside.

Jack thanks Frankie for covering with Jennifer, “I noticed you and Jennifer are really having a good time together. It’s obvious you really were in love once.”

Frankie is defensive, “If you think something’s gong on...”

“No-no-no, I’m not saying that at all,” says Jack, “It’s just obvious the two of you... I’m just glad you’re here.”

“It’s none of my business,” says Frankie, “but you’re a little on edge lately. Do you think Jennifer is in trouble? Who is it?”

“It’s Patrick Lockhart,” says Jack.

“Do we understand each other,” asks Patrick.

“If you’re smart you’ll get your hands off of me now,” says Max, “and stay out of my garage.”

“Your garage,” asks Patrick, “This is Jack an Jennifer’s garage.”

“What are you doing here,” asks Max.

“Looking for Billie.”

“I don't' blame you. I’d like a piece of that myself,” says Max, “And then there’s Chelsea...”

Patrick says, “I don't want to see Chelsea get hurt.”

“She’s got more maturity than you know,” says Max.

Patrick gets him in a headlock, “I’m only going to say this once. Keep your hands off of her.”

Billie walks in and sees Max in the chokehold, “Patrick, what the hell’s the matter with you?”

“Eat my dust, sucker,” says Chelsea. They pull up in front of the Devereaux house and run. The cops come up and radio in the information about the car.

The girls run toward the house.

Jennifer asks where they are going.

Kate tells Julie she won’t let Sami hurt Lucas again.

“People change,” says Julie.

Kate digs up history, “For years Lucas didn’t know Will was his son. Then she takes him to court and accuses him of child abuse.”

“I’m sure she’s changed since then,” Says Julie.

“I’m not going to let her get her hooks into him again,” vows Kate.

Sami tells Roman she’s not up to anything, “Please stay.”

Roman says, “All right. I’ll stay, but I hope you’re telling the truth.”

“I am,
says Sami, “You’ll see.”

Belle asks Sami what she’s up to, “Why did you invite Kate and Eugenia?”

“Kate is Lucas' mother and Kate and Eugenia are friends.”

Roman tells Kate it looks like they got things resolved with the little conversation they had in the hospital. Roman is dreaming.

Kate wants to go home.

“I just promised Sami we’d stick around,” says Roman, “I gotta ask you a favor. Will you think about giving Sami her job back at Basic Black?”

WHAT?

“Just think about it,” says Roman.

Kate says, “I’ll think about it, but no promises. I need a drink.” Roman goes off to get Kate’s drink.

Eugenia asks Kate, “What is Sami up to?” Kate doesn’t know.

Lucas announces maybe it’s time to wrap up the party.

Sami interrupts him, “None of you can leave, not yet.”

Frankie says he doesn’t trust Lockhart, “but do you think he would hurt Jennifer? Jack, you sound like you are going away – like you’re not going to be around.”

“I’m not,” says Jack, “I’m an investigative reporter. It would put my mind at ease to know you’re back here looking after the woman we both care about when I’m on assignment. Can I count on you?”

“Yeah.”

Max tells Billie he overheard Patrick talking about some things Patrick doesn't want her to know about, “He’s going to do a job that someone he cares about might get hurt.”

Patrick goes outside. Billie follows, “What was Max talking about? Has Tony DiMera or some of his people contacted you?”

“No,” says Patrick, “It’s nothing like that. Those burgers smell good. Let’s crash Jack’s party.”

Jennifer asks where the girls are running off to. As they take off, they tell Jennifer they are going to a movie.

Billie and Patrick show up.

Jack and Frankie walk out of the house as Patrick hugs Jennifer.

“This guy’s like a bad rash,” says Jack, “He just keeps coming back.”

Max works on the car. The girls run into the garage.

Chelsea tells him they are in trouble. She tells him about the police chase.

Max can’t believe it, “You ran from the cops? You know how much trouble you’re in?”

“Max,” says Chelsea, “You have to help me. I need that car for school in the fall and for work. You’re Max Brady, maybe if you give them an autograph...”

“Somehow,” says Max, “I doubt it will be that easy.”

He goes to investigate. Abby lectures Chelsea. “I’m sorry. I don't know what I was thinking,” says Chelsea

Max finds a cop outside. He asks, “Do you know a Chelsea Benson? Her vehicle was involved in a high-speed chase tonight.”

“I know her, but I was driving the car,” says Max.

Sami drags Lucas across the room and hands him a present.

Lucas says, “Accept it, Sami, we’re over.”

Sami begs, “You have to give me another chance.”

Kate butts in, “You cheated on him Sami. What you did was unforgivable.”

Lucas says, “You lied to me. I begged you to tell the truth. You didn't know how you innocently wound up in bed with Brandon.”

“You’re right, I lied. I’m sorry, Lucas,” says Sami.

“So it’s true,” says Lucas, “Its’ been a lie from the very beginning.”

“Yes.”

“You did sleep with Brandon!”

“Well,” says Sami, “Congratulations, Kate. You got what you wanted. You made sure Lucas and I won’t be together.”

“No, you did that,” says Kate, “You’re the same destructive childish girl you’ve always been.”

Sami turns to Roman, “Dad, don’t hate me.”

Roman takes her aside, “I could never hate you. I’m disappointed in you.”

“Well,” says Sami, “you should be. I’ve done some horrible things to both Kate and Lucas. I’ve been awful to Kate for a long time. I made her life a living hell.”

“All right, Kate, I’m sorry,” says Roman, “I’m sorry I ever doubted you.”

“I know you’re disappointed in your daughter,” says Kate. They decide to leave.

Julie tells Lucas she’s sorry. “I’m sorry you had to be here to see that,” Says Lucas.

Sami slams the door, “I got Lucas a birthday gift. I think it’s something you should all see.”

Max tells the cop he promised Chelsea he would help with her car. He was out testing it and didn’t hear the siren.

The cop says, “Let me see your license and proof of insurance, NOW.” Max pulls out his license.

The cop says, “Max Brady? You’re the racecar driver?”

“Guilty as charged,” says Max.

“Ggooollllllyyyy, are you the one who drives that big red number eight and gets all the girls?”

“No,” says Max, “I’m the big zero and I go for the teeny-boppers.”

“I told you he’d get us out of this,” says Chelsea.

“Now he’ll be in trouble,” says Abby.

Chelsea says, “Don't worry he’ll be fine. I’ll repay him. By finally giving him what he wants. My virginity.”

“That bastard has the nerve to show up here again,” says Jack. Frankie tells Jack to chill.

Jack goes to tend the burgers.

Billie looks at the grill and says, “Jack, are you burning these?”

“No, just burning,” says Jack, “I don’t want Lockhart here.”

Billie says, “You just don’t want him around Jennifer for when you...”

“... are not around. He’s Mr. Teflon. Nothing sticks to him,” says Jack.

“Calm down,” says Billie, “He might just be a little bit of a hero.”

Patrick talks to Frankie, “You have to do something about your little brother. If he hurts Chelsea, he’ll have me to answer to.”

“Is that a thereat?”

“Just watch him,” says Patrick.

“I’m watching you,” says Frankie as Patrick walks away.

Billie wants Jack to tell Jennifer to give her time to prepare. Jack wants Jennifer to enjoy the last couple days they have together. He wants’ someone of his choosing taking care of her. Frankie looks on in the background.

The cop writes Max a ticket.

Abby tells Chelsea, “You can’t have sex with Max.”

Chelsea says, “It would be good practice for when I get together with Patrick.”

“Then why not save it for Patrick. Having sex for the first time, that’s huge. You should save it for the right time,” says Abby.

The cop has left. Chelsea goes out to talk to Max, “I heard what you did. You took a huge bullet for me.”

“It’s just a ticket,” says Max, “If it gets out, I’ll be crucified by the press.”

Chelsea suggests, “Why don't we go talk about how I can make it up to you?” Max thinks that’s a great idea. They leave. Abby watches.

Jack has a show planned. Horton home movies. Jack was cleaning out the garage and he thought Jennifer and Frankie would enjoy seeing them.

Jennifer watches and says, “That seems like a million years ago.”

We see Frankie and Jennifer dancing.

Jennifer asks, “That was quite a night, wasn’t it Frankie?”

As they watch, Billie tells Jack he is making a big mistake.

Jack says, “That’s the love that’s going to protect her when I’m gone.”

Patrick is back on his cell phone, “I’ve made up my mind. I won’t do it. Not now, not ever.”

Sami hands Lucas his gift, “Please open it. It’s not just from me it’s from Will, too. If you want me to leave after you’ve opened it, I will.”

Eugenia gets a call and leaves.

“Cassettes? What are these,” asks Lucas.

Sami flashes back to Eugenia’s apartment, “Well why don't you play one?”

Belle tells Phillip, “I don’t know what’s going on here. Something tells me it’s not good.” Of course it isn’t – we’re in Salem.

Lucas asks Sami, “Right now? You want me to play it right now?”

Sami says, “I do. I think it’s something everyone is going to want to hear.” Kate stands behind Sami and worries.

Same FF as yesterday, Symbolic of the fact we’re moving very slowly here.

Whaaaa? DAZED writers dragging something out until viewers don't even care anymore?? Blasphemy!

LOL at the exchange between the great race driver and the cop. Max must be racing in the Junior Kiddy-Kar League to have all this time to hang around Salem.

So Jack is losing feeling in his extremeties, leading to injuries he can't even feel. Sounds like leprosy to me. The make-up person who was having such a field day with black eyes could start making Jack a nose that is flaking off.

Great Prevuze. Great Pictures.
