Ménage à Trois

Vivian stands at Bo and Hope's door holding a bouquet of flowers. Silence reigns as Carly attempts to pick her jaw up off the floor. Finally Vivian says, "If you don't say hello I won't think you're happy to see me."

"Hello."

"In times of grief families should pull together," says Vivian.

"Go away."

Vivian takes Carly's hand, walks her inside and says she doesn't know how she gets through each day, what with the terrible tragedy she's suffered.

Meanwhile, over at the Kiriakis ranch, Hope rants about her situation, "Carly is the damsel in distress and me..."

Magnanimous Justin interrupts, "Are you OK?"

"No."

Justin hugs, "You're not alone. I'm (say it with him) here for you. You have me and always will."

In walks Beauregard, "That's good to know, Hope. You'll always have your boy Justin there."

Mia whines and cries, "That's a horrible thing to say." Maggie insists Chloe tell Mia it isn't true. Chloe, remarkably, is silent. Mia turns on the waterworks, "No! Grace can't be my baby. No! She's dead. My baby is dead. Blawhhhhhhh."

Nicole begs as they read her rights. She charges Sydney but the cops pull her back. Rafe backs off, anticipating the nuclear blast.

Sami and EJ come face-to-face. Sami. EJ. EJ. Sami Sami. EJ.

"That's my daughter," mumbles EJ.

"She's our daughter," whispers Sami.

Nicole bawls.

"I should have known," says EJ, "I had my own daughter in my house and then I threw her out." Sami tells him she didn't know. EJ walks up to Sydney and caresses her cheek, "I'm so sorry. I should have known."

"There is no way you could have known because of all the lies," says Sami.

"Nicole will pay for this," says EJ.

Sami looks over at broken, beaten Nicole, "Take a look... She's already paying."

We pan to Nicole, "Blubberwah."

Bo makes a few cynical cracks and asks Hope, "You keeping this guy on retainer?"

Hope cynicals right back, "Good to see you, Bo." She says she thinks Bo is overreacting. Bo overreacts.

Justin decides to leave, "But I have something to say." He turns to Bo, "You're acting like a complete jerk."

"Good to see you again," says Bo. Justin leaves before the shrapnel starts flying. Hope tells him he's a jerk too.

"Maybe some guys act like jerks when they find their wives having a good time with their cousin. Anyway, I came here to say..."

Hope steps on him, "Carly's exonerated. I know. Justin told me."

"Snort-Huff."

Carly threatens to have Bo throw Vivian out. Vivian knows Bo isn't there so she comes on in to reminisce... and talk about how Lawrence died.

Mia breaks down. Again. Maggie tries to calm her down. She turns and pumps Chloe for more info, "Say it slowly so I can take good notes."

"Nicole said she would be her mother," sobs Mia, "She lied to me."

Chloe backs up the story, "She switched her with Sami's baby."

Maggie wonders if Nicole can be believed. She tells Mia they can't overreact. Mia overreacts. Maggie goes to call Roman. Chloe apologizes as Mia says now she understands why Nicole had her hold Grace when Grace was dying.

"Maybe in some weird way she was trying to do the right thing," says Chloe.

"Don't try to defend her," screams Mia, "Everything makes sense now except... why... why would she switch babies?"

Sami gives Sydney to EJ. EJ holds her and says he's sorry he kicked her out. He thinks it's time to go home. "Not yet, says Sami." She goes over to Nicole and tells the cops standing there, "Guys, before she goes there is something I have to do." EJ and Rafe take cover behind the granite Tony DiMera memorial marker.

Mia stays on the "why" train. Chloe tells her Sydney is Sami's baby with EJ, "EJ is her biological father."

"This can't be happening," bellows Mia, "It's unbelievable."

"It's DOOL," says Chloe, "It's happening. Believe it."

Mia wails, "I lost everything and it is my own stupid fault."

Maggie hugs her, "I know honey, this is terrible. But, man is my bridge club going to be great tonight when I drop this on them."

Sami goes back to EJ, "This is a pivotal moment. We hate Nicole and we hate what she has done but Sydney loves her and we have to respect that. She deserves this." Sami reaches for Sydney. EJ resists. They have a tug o' war over Sydney. Sami wins. EJ walks off as Sami takes Sydney over and asks the cops to uncuff Nicole.

Nicole blubbers, "Thank you."

"DON'T," snorts Sami, "Don't you talk to me."

Sami hands Nicole the baby. Nicole cuddles her, "She's getting another tooth... She's fussy."

"I'll handle it," snaps Sami.

Nicole cries, "I didn't want anyone to get hurt."

"Well Nicole," says Sami, "They kinda did."

We re-exchange the baby and the cops drag Nicole off screaming, "Mommy loves you. She always will."

Rafe's turn, "Well, that was uh... you OK?" Completing thoughts is not Rafe's strong suit.

Sami says she will be OK and starts for home. EJ butts in, "Her home is with me." Sydney begs the cops to take her off, too.

Bo and Hope play the-who-told-what-to-whom-when game. Bo wonders why Justin telling her led to him having to comfort her, "Would he be so sympathetic if you weren't drop dead gorgeous and fun to be around." Not only is Bo's sense of fun as warped as it gets, but apparently he's gone blind, too.

"That was smooth," says Hope, "You're trying to play me. It's good news Carly has been exonerated, but we know when it comes to the Alamains things aren't always what they seem. This could be a setup. Carly will need you."

Vivian disses the décor, "We really don't pay our public servants enough, do we? Oh... waitaminute... Hope has money. OMG, she decorated this way on purpose!" She wonders if she and Carly have gotten off on the wrong foot, "Perhaps we should start over."

"Oh, no," says Carly, "What's a little premature burial among friends?"

Vivian says, "I just want to say I'm so sorry for trying to have you killed. I could just shoot myself."

Carly says, "Oh, please, let me."

Vivian says, "I'll find a way to bury the hatchet."

"With me holding it, right," asks Carly.

SLAM!

Nicole wanders alone in her cell. She sits, "Oh Sydney..."

EJ reminds Sami Sydney lives at the mansion. Rafe the reconciliator steps in and reminds Sami she just did something nice for Nicole and suggests she should keep up the good works.

Hope asks if Bo can tell her the big secret he and Carly share. Bo can't, so Hope figures things haven't changed. Bo says he will tell her when it's appropriate. Hope ain' happy. Bo reminds her she's the one who moved out.

"Oh," she asks, "so everything is my fault?"

"Yes," says Bo, "But that's beside the point. You know who I am. I'm not that hard to read. I don't coddle kidnappers and I don't like it when my cousin has his arms around you all the time. And I do love my child more than life itself. If that doesn't work out for you I'm sorry.: He storms out.

Justin comes back, "That didn't look like detente." Hope rants. Justin thinks she loves Bo. Hope thinks that just complicates things. She asks Justin why Carly would say she killed Lawrence if she didn't. Justin dunno. Hope thinks this is a setup, "So who would be setting her up?"

Vivian rambles, "You, Bo and Hope together — ménage à trois. Do you darn his socks together... plan his special meals?"

Carly tells Vivian Hope is staying at Victor's, "He might like to bury the hatchet too. Right in your head."

A cop takes Nicole to a phone and tells her to make it snappy, "Word is you're been a very bad girl.". He leaves. Nicole makes her call. She chooses lucky Chloe.

Chloe answers. Nicole asks her to come bail her out. Chloe refuses, "How could you do it Nicole?"

We're back in the rumpus room. Sami blows her stack. EJ says he wants to say something, "I have a daughter." He turns to Rafe, "I will ever be grateful to you for that."

"Yeah," says Rafe, "And I'm alive so I guess we're square."

"Well," says EJ, "You certainly are, anyway... the biggest square in town as far as I can tell."

Rafe decides this is between Sami and EJ and he starts to leave. Sami pulls him back. Sami tells EJ Rafe will be a part of her life. EJ says he understands. Sami tells EJ they all have to deal with this and they can use it as a new beginning, "What do you say?"

Sami Brady does not sleep around. She only sleeps with guys she loves. One of her goals in life is to prove she loves all mankind.

Mia has turned into a zombie. She sits with Maggie at a Java Café table. Maggie tells her Roman said Nicole has been arrested and will pay. Mia thanks Maggie for what she's done and gets up, "There is something I have to do."

Nicole begs Chloe. Chloe isn't feeling the love, "I'm not your friend I'm your patsy."

"Please help me get out," says begs Nicole. Chloe tells her she's exactly where she belongs and hangs up.

EJ says he's glad his children have Samantha Gene's genes. He insists he won't be a father who gets to see his daughter every weekend and vows to be involved in her life. The baby babbles. So does Sydney. EJ says the babbling means Sydney is telling them she wants her mother.

Carly and Vivian continue to trade snide remarks. Carly asks her to leave. Vivian suggests they have lunch as Bo walks in, "How the hell did you get in?"

"I've always been able to open doors with my smile," says Vivian. She grabs her broom and leaves.

Bo asks, "You think she's here to get a little revenge?"

"No," says Carly, "A lot of it."

Justin answers the doorbell to find a stranger standing there, "Justin Kiriakis?" He slaps an envelope in Justin's hand, "You've just been served."

"That's an awfully small pizza," says Justin.

Sami has taken over 'mommy' duties, "Mommy will cook for you. I'll learn to cook first." EJ is amazed when Sami picked Sydney up she just quieted right down. He suggests maybe Sydney should stay with Sami tonight.

"OK," says Sami, "I'll see if I can get a babysitter.

EJ insists this isn't a precedent. He turns to Sydney, "Can you tell daddy's a lawyer?"

The doorbell interrupts. EJ leaves to answer it and Sami tells Rafe this might work. The cop at the door wants EJ to come down to the station and have the proverbial 'little chat.'

Justin tells Hope, "Adrian has served me with divorce papers." Justin is stunned. Hope moves in to console him.

Bo asks, "How long was the dragon lady here? And remind me to fire the guard she got past." Bo suggests Carly leave Salem. Carly refuses. In other words, the game they're playing is... when Bo wants Carly to stay, she wants to leave. When he wants her to leave Carly wants to stay. Isn't this fun?

Vivian drinks coffee at the Java Café, "OMG! I ought to make the girl who served this swill taste it herself!" She removes a flask from her purse and gives the coffee a little oomph. Gus comes in. She thanks him for distracting the guard at Bo and Hope's house and tells him this will be difficult because Carly has wrapped Bo around her little finger, "I don't think she's gotten what she came for yet."

The cop at the DiMera door says they have to talk about the attempt on Rafe's life. EJ takes it out on Sami. He thinks she was stalling until her daddy's boys got there, "Sydney stays!" Rafe and Sami scoot past him and run off with Sydney. EJ stares.

Nicole broods in her cell as a guard comes up and tells her she has a visitor. Nicole perks up, "Chloe! She changed her mind! Thank God! I'm going to get out of this place!"

Mia walks up.

POP!

Nicole's balloon bursts.

Completing thoughts is not Rafe's strong suit. and a whole orchestra of crickets echoing in his head.

Loving Vivian right now. I love that she busts Hope's decorating style!

Freakin Sami and Rafe think they can just stroll out with EJ's kid. Hello, he is a victim here too. Rafe is soo sneaky for setting up EJ like that. What a lunk head. Nice, and I think I want to puke. Leslie, Section 2 & 3 need more barf bags because they are going to have to endure SAFE and more drawn out baby switching storyline.

So Justin got served. Wow. Talk about Captain Obvious. Those DOOL writers are using their story wheel again.

Well part of me is completely relieved that the BIG reveal has come and gone. However, in typical DOOL fashion it was a complete stinky pile of Salem River sludge. And it's not going away any time soon.

By the by, whatever happened to Vivian's henchman Ivan?

I simply could not type fast enough to get in all the quips between Vivian and Carly. It's worth watching.

Can someone just kill Rafe like he's killing the show?

Sami looks over at broken, beaten Nicole, "Take a look... She's already paying."

For a woman who constantly reacts before she thinks, Sami is being far too calm and philosophical. If someone had stolen a child from me, I would be doing a Google search on “kidnapping” and trying to find out the maximum number of years that person would be serving hard time.

Vivian knows Bo isn't there so she comes on in to reminisce... and talk about how Lawrence died.

It appears that Vivian and Kate would make quite the tag team.

EJ and Rafe take cover behind the granite Tony DiMera memorial marker.

That would be the smartest thing either one of them have done since this whole mess of a storyline started.

"This can't be happening," bellows Mia, "It's unbelievable."

"It's DOOL," says Chloe, "It's happening. Believe it."

Once again, DOOL is Prevuze’s straight man. It’s unbelievable that someone would actually write that line. Are the writers going for tongue in cheek? Hardly!

"Would he be so sympathetic if you weren't drop dead gorgeous and fun to be around." Not only is Bo's sense of fun as warped as it gets, but apparently he's gone blind, too.

You bet! Bo should be counting his blessings and offering to send the rest of Hope’s belongings to the Kiriakis crib.

Bo reminds her she's the one who moved out.

I seem to remember that Hope wanted to move back in but Bo wouldn’t let her.

Chloe answers. Nicole asks her to come bail her out. Chloe refuses, "How could you do it Nicole?"

Is Salem’s court system so speedy that Nicole has already gone before a judge who has set bail? If the judge did agree to bail, it certainly would be a hefty amount, and Chloe doesn’t have a job. Where’s she supposed to get the money to post bail? Of course, the next call will be to deep pockets Brady, and Nicole will be back on the streets in no time.

The Vivian/Carly stuff sounds like a lot of fun but Mia/Maggie/Chloe not so much. EJ/Sami/Rafe appears to be disappointingly anti-climatic. Bo/Hope/Justin is just "who cares?" Yep, Prevuze, Vivian does remind me of the wicked witch of the west. Thanks for the great update!

Perhaps Bo is smarter than we give him credit for.

You know, when I think of EJami, only one thing comes to mind - ill-contrived storylines (i.e. the writers are making it up as they go).

First EJ forces Scami into sex and all of a sudden its okay because the writers decide that EJ and Scami falling in love would be a good story line. So they explain it away as Scami really wanting EJ - all is forgiven.

Then, just as the viewers were starting to accept the victim falling for her rapist story line, back comes Luclueless to provide us with yet another love triangle/who's the daddy storyline.

Now, Scami was going to hide EJ's baby from him and never let him know she existed. Nicole (though we all know this is just her latest excuse) actually came up with a plausible explanation for her actions that she took Sydney BECAUSE that was the only way EJ could be with his daughter. EJ immediately forgives (ignores?) the fact that Scami wanted to keep him from his daughter and turns all his wrath on Nicole because the writers apparently feel we need yet another love triangle (quadrangle? isn't Luclueless due to come back soon?).

Do the writers have any sort of a master plan in mind? Or are they just spinning the story wheel and whatever it lands on, they rewrite history to fit? Why am I even asking that question - I think we all know the answer to that one...

"That's my daughter,"
Oh, now she's your daughter. I'm sure EJ is elated he managed to get out this situation with Nicole, especially since it was her actions which caused the rift. Now he can enter a triangle with Rafe and Sami. Guilt free.

Mia says now she understands why Nicole had her hold Grace when Grace was dying.
"Don't try to defend her,"

And there goes common sense. Bye!

Sami says she will be OK and starts for home. EJ butts in, "Her home is with me."
Right after he gets her stuff from the curb and has Henderson move it back it in.

OMG, she decorated this way on purpose!"
Hah!

EJ reminds Sami Sydney lives at the mansion.
Since when?

Hope asks if Bo can tell her the big secret he and Carly share.
More like; Hope checks to see if Bo is still disobedient.

Chloe refuses, "How could you do it Nicole?"
What!? It's not like she tried to kill someone, or infect someone with flesh eating bacteria... oh wait.

Chloe tells her she's exactly where she belongs and hangs up.
Oh, how holier-than-thou. Maybe she should stop making pledges to God.

"Adrian has served me with divorce papers." Justin is stunned.
How so. He's always at Victor's house hanging out with Hope. Did he not see what is happening to Bo. Observation skills, man!

I hate these holier-than-thou lectures. Now everyone and their mother will say how awful Nicole is while carrying on in an unscrupulous manner. Nicole will be free soon enough. And then she'll have to watch her fellow kidnappers, murderers, adulterers, extortionists, rapists, liars and thieves look down on her. Mostly because she was stupid enough to get caught. Play the game better, Nicole.

Note to self: don't try to sneakily read Prevuze while your boss is further down the aisle. You never know when you'll come across something like "You're acting like a complete jerk!" "Who's acting?" HAHAHAHA Fortunately I recovered quickly and am still employed.

I also loved Vivian dissing Hope's decorating. Which I was just looking at in yesterday's episode! Bare walls in a bland color and a cheesy starving artist picture over the fireplace. I totally see Viv's point.

We still have Brady Brady to get the big reveal. Maybe he'll go nuclear on Nicole.

Great Prevuze and pictures today. We needed it on this gloomy/snowy day. :D

I managed to squeeze in Prevuze before I had to leave for my all-morning meeting, but couldn't comment. Now most of the Prevuze gems have already been noted. I'll just add that I LOL at the picture of Maggie getting kicked out of the dance troup for spreading gossip.

I'm still shaking my head over Chloe bustling all over town spilling (or almost spilling) the beans about the baby. She's giving Maggie a run for her money as the town busy-body.

You're right, Bulldog, Brady Brady still gets to find out he's been duped. And Chad hasn't heard the good news yet nor has Lucasloser or Kate.

I guess we're NOT going to get to see Roman finding out on screen. I wonder how many other people will get the news off-screen, ruining our chances to see all the juicy reactions?

A belated thank you to Prevuze for getting be going this morning! I look forward to watching Vivian and Carly zing each other. Unlike Chloe/Victor, Carly & Viv are pretty evenly matched in the snark department.

After dragging this storyline out or almost a year I can't believe this is the "payoff".

DAYs used to be able to give you a great payoff after months and months of drudgery. What happened to those days?

This is the most anti-climatic payoff I can remember and it certainly isn't worth months of boring storyline.
