Buzz Kill

Sami comes down and finds John playing a solitary game of chess. John says, "Apparently my big brother really enjoyed this game. Rolf said he spent hours staring at the board."

Sami says, "I think Stefano thought the game would help him strategize the destruction of my family."

"That sounds like overkill," says John, "This is chess, not tiddlywinks."

Neither John nor Sami can sleep. They've tried everything, including watching DOOL reruns. "My problem is a scrambled brain," says John, "I guess that's why we both can't sleep, eh? " He wonders why Sami doesn't just let EJ get deported. Sami says her daughter already lost her father. She doesn't want Johnny to lose his. John suggests Sami could always go with EJ.

EJ meets Nicole in an alley.

Sami tells John she's not moving. He wonders if Sami wants to see him get back to his old self. She reminds him they didn't get along, "You were righteous. It bugged me. Aren't you even the least bit curious about how you used to be?" John says he isn't. Sami asks about the disc.

John says he hasn't watched it. He isn't sure it's a DVD. He thinks it may contain things he doesn't want to know about. He recalls seeing it in the laboratory. He'll look at it eventually. He's more interested in talking to Sami right now. He thinks she'll be objective. John wants her to tell him everything. If she does, we'll all be asleep by the time this is over.

Nicole accepts a wad from EJ. She says she can't believe what she will do for money these days, but she enjoyed her little mission, "Did you see Sami freak out?" EJ says he paid her to speak to Burke not to torment Sami. Nicole says she told Burke that EJ and Sami are deeply in love, "Have I no shame? Of course not."

John wonders why Marlena fell in love with him. "That's easy," says Sami, "She thought you were my dad. But by the time we found out you weren't it was to late." Flashback to Marlena telling John she never stopped caring about him. Then Sami watches as they go at it. She discretely closes the door and runs off. Later she tells Marlena she saw them.

Sami tells John he destroyed the love between her mom and dad. John thinks Roman has put it all behind him. "Yes he has," says Sami, "but he wasn't happy about it." John accuses her of having a chip on her shoulder. Sami says it's because of him. John thinks she can't forgive Lucas.

Nicole says if EJ weren't so in love with Sami she might go after him. "Well," sighs EJ, "I am in love with Sami." Nicole remembers she's also still married and since EJ is her lawyer, that would be unethical, "None of which has ever stopped anybody in this town before." He tells her he now has other clients.

"So," says Nicole, "That's where you got the mucho dinero to pay me."

EJ doesn't want anyone to find out about their deal. He's willing to do whatever it takes to make sure Sami loves him.

Sami says she loved and trusted John and one day he wasn't her dad any more, "It's like we have been living a big fat lie. One time you left Mom in the middle of your honeymoon to hook up with Hope."

John gasps, "Bo Brady's wife?"

Sami says, "Pretty crazy, right?"

"Yes she is."

Flashback to John saving Hope from drowning and then Hope and John on the sub romping.

Sami says it wasn't all John's fault because Hope didn't know who she was either. John says all this takes the pressure off, but is a lot to absorb. He wants to know more about when Sami thought he was Roman. Sami thought it was a complete betrayal when she found out he wasn't, "Once Mom even thought you might be Stefano."

Flashback to Marlena discovering the phoenix tattoo on John's back. That's when she truly believed you were my dad," says Sami.

John says when Stefano gave him the tattoo he marked him as a possession. Little did he know he was branding his brother. Sami says, "So you're gonna start acting like a DiMera – Great."

Nicole likes the intrigue, "It makes me all-tingly inside. I don't get tingly for just anyone. Let's go somewhere." EJ says he is very tempted but he reminds her he's in love and she is married.

"Buzz kill," says Nicole, "So your charming British routine was for show?"

"You wouldn't be the first person I've fooled," says EJ.

John has no intention of being driven by revenge or living his life for anyone else. Sami says, "I wish the past would stay in the past."

"That's impossible," says John, "If it did we couldn't have these time-wasting shows full of flashbacks. Just forget about it."

"With all I've done it would take a severe case of amnesia," says Sami.

John wouldn't wish what he has on anyone. He says he focuses on the future and shoring up the DiMera enterprise. Sami encourages him to look at the disc. John takes it and puts it in his computer. He hesitates, and then starts it up. Gobbledygook appears on the screen. Sami has to walk away or she'll get a headache. John thinks it must be encrypted. Sami offers to call her dad who can send it to the ISA.

Nicole thinks EJ is charming. "I find you sexy bad girl act rather entertaining," says EJ. Nicole says Sami will always side with Lucas even if she falls out of love with him.

John says he has a few sources also. Sami encourages him to do something soon. Sami thinks he's not half bad once she can get past all his weird behavior. "I think the same thing about you," says John.

Sami tells him Victor discovered him. Flashback to the discovery. Victor grills John, "What does the name Alex Marshall mean to you? Nurse Honeycutt? Roman Brady? Stefano DiMera?"

Sami tells him he then went to a mission and that's how he got his name. John thinks this is unacceptable, that he has been used over and over by Stefano and manipulated by Victor, "My days of being a victim are over."

EJ says he has a plan. He doesn't care to share, however. Nicole wishes him luck. "I don't need luck," says EJ, "Samantha is going to be mine."

Sami says John was good with Belle before he knew she was her daughter. Sami tells him about sneaking into the lab and changing the paternity results. Flashback to Marlena giving John the results. Then Sami kidnapping Belle. Then Marlena lecturing Sami for kidnapping Belle.

John is silent. Sami says, "Come on John, say something."

John thinks it over, "So you kidnapped your kid sister because you didn't want anyone to know the baby wasn't your father's. That makes sense."

Sami is shocked, "You're not mad?"

"Mad, yes. Angry, no," says John, "The fact is, I don't remember any of it. I have no connection to any of you. The blonde is more twisted than I realized." Sami begs him not to tell anyone who told him all this. John says he won't reveal his sources.

Nicole says once she gets the settlement she will stay in Salem. Once she gets half of Victor's stuff she is thinking of taking the other half, "his hot-as-hell son Phillip."

Sami thinks John for agreeing not to tell who told him this. John says he likes the way she handled things with Belle. Sami is shocked. "Aw," says John, "Blondie's no worse for the wear." Sami thinks that's heartless. John likes that she took maters into her own hands.

Sami thinks it's cold to sympathize with his child's kidnapper, "Maybe I just figured you out." Sami thinks John tries to keep people at arms length. She thinks he really does have feelings for Marlena, "Do you love her?"

"I don't know what that is," says John. He decides to go to bed, gets up and leaves.

Sami sits alone, "I guess I struck a nerve." Suddenly, the baby monitor sounds off. Sami goes upstairs, leaving the disc sitting on the table. The black mummy comes in through the door wall and takes it.

Upstairs, John sleeps. Sami gets Allie settled down and they both go to sleep. The audience has been asleep through this whole snoozer.

"Upstairs, John sleeps. Sami gets Allie settled down and they both go to sleep. The audience has been asleep through this whole snoozer." Talk about time-killing flashbacks! Obviously they're trying to bring new viewers up-to-date but for us faithful fogeys the only reason to watch them is to see how young they looked back then.

I'm still laughing over the latest Jr. and Belle update. Good one, Prevuze! HAHAHAHA

It's nice to have our uninterrupted Prevuze back!

The black mummy is probably Rolf.

I get that EJ paid Nicole to lie to Burke. What I'm still puzzling over is why Burke asked Nicole to give a statement in the first place? She hasn't been in town for three years, wasn't that close to Sami before she left and had never even met EJ before she came back. TLT

I'm relieved to see the further adventures of Shawn & Belle, LOL over Ava's jaw surgery and her demand for SoapNet NOW. And can certainly empathize with Patch's prayers for a better SPD.

Sami says, "I wish the past would stay in the past."

"That's impossible," says John, "If it did we couldn't have these time-wasting shows full of flashbacks."

Sounds like that pretty much sums up the show. Thanks for the warning Prevuze!!

Neither John nor Sami can sleep. They've tried everything, including watching DOOL reruns.

Obviously, they didn’t watch enough Ava/Patch/Kayla. I’m getting drowsy just thinking about it.

John accuses her of having a chip on her shoulder. Sami says it's because of him. John thinks she can't forgive Lucas.

There isn’t a casino in Vegas big enough to hold all the chips Sami is carrying around.

Sami says, "I wish the past would stay in the past."

"That's impossible," says John, "If it did we couldn't have these time-wasting shows full of flashbacks.”

Oh, goodie, a show devoted to trips down memory lane. You know what I say to that? ZAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At least the flashbacks will remind everyone why Jawn is infinitely more entertaining than John.

It’s a gorgeous day in the Windy City and Prevuze has returned to my computer screen!! What more could I ask for? Greedy person that I am…a Cubs win. Have a great day Prevuze!!! Loved the smokin’ hot Chelsea/Dr. Cradle Robber picture!!!!

I just can't turn loose of the shows where Dan gets blamed for Chelseas botched surgery. He DIDN"T do it!! It was another dude. Dan was botching Bo's surgery in a whole other room. It was Lexie that was assisting in Chelsea's surgery and who does Dad turn her care over to?.....You got it,Kids. What happened to the dude that did Chelsea's surgery? Did he go on vacation aboard the FanceyFace II?

Well, this will be less of a snoozer for me than some. Altho I started watching DOOL in the 70's, I missed a few years here and there. Okay, I missed a lot here and there. Too ADD, but Prevuze keeps it interesting enough that I watch more regularly now. lol!

So, I was unaware of nearly all the flashback info. Hope with John? Talk about righteous. She's bonked a lot of people for someone so righteous.

And I just ignore the ridiculous stuff like Nicole talking to Burke and EJ have $ already. blah blah

But I loved the Shelle pictorial adventure . . . which made me wonder: Could you just substitute a photo of Nicole for the shark fins?

Wouldn't that be an insult to the sharks?
