Help Prevuze Get Its Mojo Back

To blog or not to blog: that is the question.
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous boredom
Or to take arms against irresponsible
Behavior and get a life. Oh, the horror!
Watch Days Of Our Lives... find comatose relief.
To sleep: sweet blackness of DOOL-free life,
To sleep: to end the insane melodrama,
To sleep: to escape baby-switching sub-plots,
To sleep: life void of hos 'n lotharios,
To sleep: and embrace the lunacy no more,
To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub;
For in that mindless sleep what dreams may come
When I have shuffled off the day's soft porn?
Do I see DOOL's distorted reality?
Cop-shop incompetence and tainted chowdah,
Internet sex, whinos and sarcophagi,
Lies and cheating and Melanie's bleating,
Stefano's schemes and Phillip's fake peg-leg,
Kate's "experience" and intentions with Chad,
Sami's bipolar angst, Rafe's thousand-yard stare,
EJ's brains splattered o'er the bedroom wall,
Daniel and Chloe and phil-andering Phil,
The pier, the bench, and the Hernandez Hovel
Swirling through my head. Resistance is futile.
I cannot run and I cannot escape. Still...
To blog or not to blog: that is the question.

So here we are, two weeks into the Great Satellite Crisis of 2010 and still counting. Before I go on, here's today's dope on the satellite situation:

Norris has been out to the Prevuze Compound twice and has spruced my system up. I am now receiving satellites and channels I have never received before, but not the DOOL satellite. I have also found out others are not receiving the DOOL feed either, so it's certain the problem is universal, and not an issue with my equipment.

So now what? The satellite seems to be gone and that brings me back around to ask... To blog or not to blog; that is the question. Do I keep blogging stale material? Yuck. Well, in the interim, I've been blogging about the show after it has broadcast and, frankly, it's no fun. Prevuze is a day-ahead blog and I want to keep it that way.

Dick Vitale walks onto the scene...

"FREEZE IT!"

Dick continues, "OK, people, as you can see Bongerski has the ball here on the low post. Slobdonovitch sets up a pick and..."

Prevuze interrupts, "Thanks, Dick. But now that we've frozen the action, I'll take it from here."

OK, to repeat, what I said was Prevuze is a day-ahead blog and it's no fun blogging the show after it has broadcast. I don' wan' no stinkin' day-behind blog. So let's pretend you all have sent all those emails, tweets, Facebook posts and comments telling me how you don't care if it's a day behind at all.

I hear you.

Really. I do. I HEAR YOU. But maybe if we work together, we can find a way to make this ugly situation much better. Interested? Read on...

"OK, Dick... Roll it."

Maybe the satellite will pop back in Monday morning and we can keep being a day ahead, but I'm just a bit pessimistic about that.

When the satellite has been out before, I've had Canadian readers who have sent me videos of the show after it has aired in Canada. While this isn't a perfect solution, it's a whole lot better than what we have now. Unfortunately, the two women who provided those videos were die-hard followers of specific couples who are no longer on the scene, and so they stopped recording the show.

So here's my pitch. Prevuze has tons of Canadian readers. We have additional readers who live in border cities like Detroit, Buffalo and Salem (well, Salem's everywhere, isn't it) who can receive Canadian channels, and along with them, the day-ahead DOOL broadcasts. Out of that multitude of readers, Surely there are a couple of kind-hearted people to step forward who will record and post the show to a private site (can't distribute it publicly or we might incur the wrath of the nasties at NBC, Global, Corday Productions or The Borg).

Before you jump up and volunteer (I know every one of you is just champing at the bit to do it), let me just say it would be helpful, very helpful, if you already have some video experience with your computer. Or perhaps your husband, wife, partner, kid or otherwise good for nothing ex knows something about it and can help.

If you can do this, you won't have to edit the video in any way, which will save you a lot of work. All I want is for you to record the show and post it — commercials and all.

If you think you might want to volunteer, contact me "back channel" at my email address: prevuze@gmail.com and we'll talk about what equipment and software is required as well as how and where to upload.

And that's it. That's how YOU can help keep this blog a day-ahead (OK, half day-ahead in the US). Do it. Do it for your fellow DOOL watchers, regardless of race, creed, color, lifestyle or, most importantly, couple affiliation. Do it. YOU can help Prevuze get it's mojo back.

"BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!"

Remember back in kindergarten when you had that line on your report card that said, "Plays well with others." Yeah, well, I always flunked that big-time. To me, playing well with others is about as pleasant as walking through a mine field with Phillip Kiriakis.

But on occasion, working together pays off. And this is one of those times. As I mentioned, everyone seems to have lost this satellite signal, including Barb at the popular Salem Spectator day-ahead blog So as an added bonus, Prevuze and the Salem Spectator blog have joined forces and will share this precious video. In other words, your efforts will help the readers of both blogs.

"BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!"

In fact, we'll share your video with anyone else who is doing a day-ahead blog. Barb at the Spectator and I aren't too familiar with other day-ahead bloggers, but if there is a need, they can have a copy, too. Heck, start your own blog.

So that's it. I need help... The Salem Spectator needs help... maybe other blogs need help too. Please let us know if you think you can assist.

The ball is in your court. Thanks.

I probably could during the time Kayla is on it but I don't know if that is much help because I don't watch it when she isn't.

I do hope someone is able to answer your call. I really enjoyed your "Dope" on Prevuze this morning. So clever. Prevuze, not 'the Dope'.

I also imagine Shakespeare is turning in his grave (wonder if he's sarcophagized?). If Prevuze had been around back when the Bard was churning out prose, who would have needed Shakespeare?!

Great weekend post. Let's keep our collective fingers crossed.

Since I live a stones throw from Salem, I can't help. However, I will post a link at one of the fan sites. I hope that helps.

Just pick a year and post a past storyline. I am almost certain Dena will catch up one of these Days.

Yes, we're definitely praying this will work. If I have to face going into the office without Prevuze I guess I'd just have to retire. Because I'm not sure I could struggle thru without sneaking the daily Prevuze underneath the boring pile of stuff on my desk that is my "work".

Loved the Dope picture. BTW - how did you decide who's picture to use? HAHAHAHAHA

Hope to see things up and running right next week. Have a nice rest of the weekend everybody!

A day ahead or after the show, I work and don't have a recorder thing. I enjoy your posts either way.

While it is nice to still read our snarky recap - I have lost the edge in my work circle - without my day ahead knowledge - and I'd have to imagine it can't quite be the same wirting the recap instead of the "PreCap". Here's to hoping for the return of Mojo.
