A Gestation Device

Carly stands at Bo and Hope's door face to face with Hope. She sees the steam coming out of Hope's ears and decides this might be a good time to leave. But, no, Hope tells her not to go. She invites her in to witness the coming smackdown.

Vivian is at the Java Café. She reaches for her coffee, but Kate snaps it out from under her. They argue about who's coffee it was.

EJ accuses Stefano of taking Sydney. Rafe and Sami join in the Stef-bashing session. EJ steps in as things quiet down, "Father, where is our daughter?"

Nicole lies in her hospital bed. She zones out and calls for Sydney, "Be safe honey, oh, God please be safe."

EJ lectures Stefano. Rafe wants to know if it's true that Stefano might know where Sydney is. Stefano says, "Well, I do have an idea where she might be." EJ, Sami and Rafe suck all of the air out of the room as they gasp in unison.

Mia comes into Maggie's kitchen. She says she's done with her shift but has to Bo back and fill in for Karen, "I really had to say I would do that since she's filled in for me a zillion times."

"If you actually go to work you'll never fit in with everyone else in Salem," says Maggie. She encourages Mia to eat and offers to make her a sandwich. We find out when Mia was pregnant all she could eat was chicken and she got sick of it, so instead she orders liverwurst and sauerkraut with jalapenos on rye. Mmmmmmm... She reminisces about Grace. Maggie jumps in with her two-bit advice and suggests she try to get back together with her mom. Mia doesn't think that can ever happen. Maggie chirps, "Family is the most important thing in anyone's life."

"Then how come we never see your husband or kids around here," asks Mia.

Carly tells Bo moving in with Maggie is a no-go. That gets Hope's attention. She gets nasty and wonders why Carly is trying to cozy up to her family. Victor arrives, "It looks like I interrupted just in time."

"No," says Bo, "You should have interrupted a long time ago. You know, like at our wedding when the preacher asked if anyone knew a reason why I shouldn't marry her..."

Vivian and Kate cluck around the Java Café. Vivian moves in to snipe a bit. Kate gives her both barrels, "I thought with advancing age came a softening but I guess some never change. You are not Phillip's long lost mother." She mocks the way Vivian gushed when she first Phillip at Victor's and continues to rant, "You were just a gestation device and Phillip knows it."

Vivian reminds Kate she married the man who tried to have Phillip murdered. Kate fires back, "Yeah, well, you've got Victor on your 'must have for Christmas' list."

Vivian says, "Well, Stefano owns your soul and what's left of your body."

"And you," says Kate, "think I'm out of the picture and Victor is just right for plucking."

Stefano insists he would never harm Sydney. He says the only person who could know where she is would be Nicole.

Nicole flashes back to moments with Sydney, "I hear you crying. Mommy is coming."

Even though it's been a long hard ride, Sydney decides she can't afford to stop and rest. She kicks her Harley into high gear and heads for the outskirts of Whitehorse.

Vivian says her relationship with Victor is her business. Kate sneers, "If you're moving in on Victor to get close to Phillip, then it's my business, too. Vivian, go to hell." Kate leaves. Vivian chuckles.

Victor growls, "Bo... get this intruder out of your house. It's Christmas, for God's sake."

"I thought the intruder was living with you," says Bo. Ciara comes down and provides the adult supervision. Victor invites her home to open her early Christmas present.

Ciara gets all-excited, "Mommy, let's go!"

Hope declines, "Mommy has to stay and talk to Daddy and THIS WOMAN." Victor takes Ciara away from the bull ring.

Carly apologizes for coming by, but Hope is about as gracious as a wolf standing in the middle of a herd of sheep. She continues to badger Carly, "Why don't you want to live at Maggie's? Just one more secret you don't want to share?"

Maggie continues to spew. Mia thinks Maggie is the only person who will tell her the truth.

Nicole babbles, "Sydney... Mommy's coming... I have to find her."

EJ isn't buying what Stefano is selling. Stefano says he knows Brady is in love with Nichole and he has conned all of them into believing her lies. Accusations fly back at Stefano. Rafe gets a call and leaves. Sami goes into high gear. EJ turns on the afterburners. Sami says she knows Stefano hates her and wants to keep her away from his granddaughter, "Just tell us the truth!"

Carly tells Hope not everything is a secret, "I can't live here. Maggie had a room for rent and offered it to me." Hope says Maggie wouldn't do that if she knew the truth. Carly says she has decided to live at the Salem Inn, "I'm leaving so you two can go back to whatever you were talking about."

Hope snorts, "We were talking about you."

Bo clarifies, "Actually, Hope was doing the talking."

Gus brings Vivian an envelope and says Lawrence had a secret lock box in Switzerland. Gus, of course, has the contents since Vivian was Lawrence's next-of-kin and she gave Gus power-of-attorney. Vivian opens the letter and reads, "Well, there is someone else who needs to read this... right now."

Nicole decides she has to find Sydney. She struggles to get up.

The Brady bunch... well, I guess more of them are DiMeras... continues to bicker. Stefano tells Sami he would never take Sydney and wants to help her get her back. EJ jumps in and says he doesn't believe anything Stefano is saying. "I have an idea how we can find her," says Stefano.

Rafe gets off the phone as Roman comes in. Rafe tells Roman the Syd-napping might have been a professional job.

"Maybe not," says Roman, "The Cleveland PD might be on to who took Sydney. Translation: If the Cleveland PD is anything like the Salem PD, we'll know where not to look.

Bo declares the conversation is over, "Carly is trying to move on. Can't we do the same thing?"

"How can we do that," asks Hope, "if you don't trust me with information you have about Carly?"

Carly jumps in and tells her she and Bo won't have any more contact. Hope jumps on that one, "So, you stopped by to tell him where you will be living, which could have been accomplished with a phone call. You are invading my house."

"If this is your house," asks Bo, "why did you leave?"

OMG! BACK-TALK! THE ULTIMATE SIN! Hope decides to go.

Sami thinks they should hear Stefano out. EJ babbles but Stefano jumps in. He says he had his people tracking Sydney, "And Elvis did the same thing — no matter what he denies."

Shocked Sami turns to EJ, "Did you?"

"Sure," he admits, "I don't see that this has anything to do with where Sydney is."

Stefano suggests combining their resources and doubling their chances of finding her, "Double your pleasure, double your fun. Get yourself two mobs instead of just one."

Roman tells Rafe he knows Fay helped Nicole. Rafe wonders if Fay took Sydney. Roman says that's a possibility. Rafe isn't convinced, "But do you think Fay would smash Nicole's skull and leave her for dead?"

Roman is so impressed with this great revelation and magnificent display of detective work that any two-year old could have thought of, "That is why the FBI guys had mush for brains when they asked you to resign."

"They had mush for brains, all right," says Rafe, "After all, they're the ones who hired me in the first place."

"So," says Roman, "Fay may not be the perp, but she is still a person of interest."

"That's good," says Rafe, "At least there's something interesting on this show." Roman says the cops have Fay's house staked out.

"That baby could be anywhere by now," says the ever-astute Rafe.

Nicole unwraps herself from all her gizmos and gadgets. She starts to stand, but can't.

Hope says it was a mistake to come there or to think they could rebuild their family. She leaves. Carly says they have to tell Hope about her daughter.

Maggie encourages Mia not to be bitter. "I already am," says Mia, "That's what happens when your baby dies."

"Apparently wallowing in self-pity also happens," says Maggie. Mia leaves to go back to work.

Sami wails, "We all have to work together."

Rodney King sticks his head in the room, "Can't we all just get along?"

EJ doesn't join in as they all sing "Kum Bay Ya." He doesn't want any part of this stinkin' togetherness. He thinks Stefano would turn that around to make sure they never would find their daughter.

Sami does a 180° — she turns to Stefano, "How could you do this to your own granddaughter?" Bipolar Sami strikes again.

"Fine," growls Stefano, "if you two want to act like idiots, go ahead, but without my help you will never find that child!" He storms out.

Nicole tries to get up again and this time she succeeds. She staggers to the door, cracks it open and sees a cop standing there. So she closes it and looks around the room. She staggers to another door, but it's locked, "NO! Blubberblubberblubber..."

Hope is at the Java Café bugging Mia about life at Maggie's house. "Today," says Mia, "A Carly Something-Or-Other almost moved in."

"That would be Carly Manning," says Hope, "So why didn't she move in?"

Bo thinks there is more to this than the secret they are keeping from Hope. He assumes Vivian is back in Salem because of the little incident with Lawrence and she has her sights set on Carly. "And," says Carly, "If she knew I had a daughter, that's exactly where she would strike."

"So your secret has to remain a secret," says Bo. Carly agrees and decides to go to the Salem Inn. "Can you afford that," asks Bo.

"I know," says Carly, "$29.95 a day is pretty steep, but they do change the sheets and give you a fresh can of bug spray once a month." Bo thinks the Salem Inn isn't a good idea. He thinks she should stay at Bo and Hope's house.

Victor meets Vivian in the den. Vivian orders vodka rocks, "It's irresponsible of Bo to expose Hope to a heartless murderess." She tells Victor she's sure Carly killed Lawrence. Victor thinks Vivian came to Salem for revenge. Vivian agrees.

Roman hugs Sami and tells her to stay strong. He tells Stefano the cops need his statement. Stefano says if they want to talk they can talk to his attorney. On his way out, Stefano takes one more shot at EJ, "No one is going to turn me into the villain here. I just want my granddaughter back."

Rafe comes to Nicole's room and the cop tells him she can't have any visitors. Cagy Rafe buddies up to the cop and tells him following orders doesn't get a case solved.

Nicole uses a hairpin or something to pick the lock on the side door.

Carly tells Bo she can't stay at his house. Bo wants to know what happened at Maggie's. Carly just says she shouldn't have tried to rush things, "Now she hates me."

Hope leaves Mia a big tip and asks a few more questions about Carly. Mia wonders how Hope knows Carly. "She used to live in Salem a few years ago," says Hope, "What did you think of her?"

"It's not nice to talk about people you don't know," says Mia.

"Live with Maggie long enough and you'll get over that," says Hope.

"My first impression of her was you can't trust her."

Hope leaves, "Smart girl."

Vivian thinks extradition and execution isn't enough punishment for Carly. She wants Victor's support so her revenge can be long and painful, "I need your help."

"You have to ask?"

Stefano calls Kate and tells her Nicole claims she doesn't know what happened to Sydney. Kate says she doesn't want Stefano getting all worked up. Stefano gets all worked up, "Elvis, Nicole and Samantha are trying to keep Sydney away from me and they will pay for it!"

Roman says he has a meeting with commander Hogan so he leaves. Sami turns to EJ, "Tough day, eh?"

"We didn't make it to Canada," says EJ, "So I'd appreciate it if you speak English. It's hard to know whether Nicole has Sydney or Stefano is behind all this."

Sami whines, "And everyone says the more time goes by the harder it will be to find her..."

"Trust me on this," says EJ, "We're going to find our daughter. Don't doubt that."

"AND LIVE HAPPILY EVER-AFTER," shout the Ejamis.

The Safes and Lumis gang up on them, "PUT A SOCK IN IT!"

The cop lets Rafe in. He goes in and finds the room empty, "Nicole!" He opens the side door, "Nothing. Dammit!"

Out in the audience, things degenerate into a full-fledged donnybrook.

I'm really disappointed in Hope here. No MY husband, no MY blanket? What happened?

Jana, I am disappointed in this episode. Could we collectively pool our money together to get Vivian and Victor to exact revenge on everyone in Salem? Now that would be entertainment.

Maggie chirps, "Family is the most important thing in anyone's life."

"Then how come we never see your husband or kids around here," asks Mia.

Chez Rouge got bail out money from the TARP fund, and Maggie had to make cut backs.

Carly tells Bo moving in with Maggie is a no-go.

Carly needs to get on her cell phone and make a call to Omar. He seemed a heck of lot easier to get along with, and Omar didn't come with all the forced drama.

Vivian reminds Kate she married the man who tried to have Phillip murdered.

Someone needs to point out to Stefano that he married the woman who tried to kill his son. Apparently Stefano has forgotten that Kate was one of the three shooters who tried to off EJ when he married Sami. Lucky for EJ and Chloe that Kate is really good at attempted murder but isn’t able to finish what she started.

Stefano says he knows Brady is in love with Nichole and he has conned all of them into believing her lies.

Huh? When did Stefano morph into The Great Karnak? Why would Stefano know that Brady is in love with Nicole? I guess my biggest “huh” in this entire scenario is trying to figure out why Brady, or anyone else for that matter, has the hots for Nicole.

"That is why the FBI guys had mush for brains when they asked you to resign."

"They had mush for brains, all right," says Rafe, "After all, they're the ones who hired me in the first place."

Maybe Rafe’s dismissal had something to do with a breach of ethics regarding an agent getting far too cozy with the woman he was supposed to be guarding. The Rafester did such a wonderful job protecting Sami that he never bothered to find a secure place for her to have her baby. That brain blip gave Nicole the perfect opportunity for the ole baby switcheroo. As far as I’m concerned, that’s reason enough for the FBI to dumb Rafe’s sorry butt. By the way, what’s the head of the SPD doing in Cleveland?

"AND LIVE HAPPILY EVER-AFTER," shout the Ejamis.

The safes and Lumis gang up on them, "PUT A SOCK IN IT!"

Out in the audience, things degenerate into a full-fledged donnybrook.

Thank goodness this episode generated some excitement because it sure appeared like everyone was running around in a foot of mud.

It seems to me that Hope should be worried about the affects that Carly is having on her marriage and not be so concerned about why Carly showed up in Salem. After all, first things first. I guess Stefano’s goons are better than EJ’s goons because Stefano found his way to Cleveland without the help of Rafe.

Great job Prevuze and happy Monday everyone!

I missed my chance to post all about meeeeeeeeeee this weekend because I had National Guard drill and missed the Saturday episode. So there's your tidbit about me - I'm in the Michigan Army National Guard (not that Prevuze didn't already know that since we're friends on Facebook :-) ).

Other tidbits about me... I really don't fall into any of the EJami, Lumi, or Safe camps - I just want them all to go away (though, if I had to pick one, I'd be a Lumi). I've been watching DROOL since I was a kid watching it with my mom, though since I found Prevuze I haven't watched an episode (Prevuze is WAY more entertaining). And, if you couldn't figure it out, I love the Detroit Red Wings (and suffer through the Lions and Tigers).

Jana, I am disappointed in this episode. Could we collectively pool our money together to get Vivian and Victor to exact revenge on everyone in Salem? Now that would be entertainment.

I'm with you, Berg. Just let me know where to contribute!

"If this is your house," asks Bo, "why did you leave?"

I REALLY hope that wasn't an un-italicized Prevuzism. Do you actually get to watch Bo grow a pair, or do they just appear out of nowhere? (or did he get ahold of Hope's purse and remove his original pair for re-attachment)

Vivian says, "Well, Stefano owns your soul and what's left of your body."

I knew there was a reason I was happy when I heard Vivian was coming back to town :-). Now if only Ivan would come back to Salem and bring Bart with him.

Glad to see the sun shining, the snow melting (until Wednesday) and Prevuze posting. Happy Monday everyone!

Leslie, you can add Sami & Victor (twice) to that list of folks Kate attempted to murder.

ROFLMA, Wingnut ’75 …or did he get ahold of Hope's purse and remove his original pair for re-attachment?

Maggie chirps, "Family is the most important thing in anyone's life." "Then how come we never see your husband or kids around here," asks Mia.

Ooooo, KAPOW! Right between the eyes. Good shot, Mia. Too bad she really didn’t say that on the show.

Rafe isn't convinced, "But do you think Fay would smash Nicole's skull and leave her for dead?" Roman is so impressed with this great revelation and magnificent display of detective work...

OMG, how stupid can they make Roman. Jeez.

My HUH?! moment involves Barley's decision to not tell Hope Carly's secret. Why would telling Hope mean Vivian would find out? Does Bo think Hope would run right over to Viv and blab?

I loved Bulldog's "wigitosis" picture and Hope shopping for a cattle prod.

Now we get to see if the Cleveland cops are as clueless as the SPD. How hard should it be to find a gal in a bad brunette wig and hospital gown, staggering around with a concussion? If nothing else the hospital security tapes should show what door she walked out of. Unless, of course, the never alert security guard of Salem Hospital has moved to Cleveland.

Bless you, Prevuze, for the Monday picker-upper.

Someone needs to point out to Stefano that he married the woman who tried to kill his son. When I first read that I was trying to remember when Kate tried to kill Tony. HAHAHA Leslie, how do you and Prevuze remember this stuff??!

I wonder if Bo could work out an arrangement with some of the DiMera goons and have Hope kidnapped? Only this time leave her wherever they take her.

LOL over Maggie's eclectic choice of house guests. I suppose since Faye and the rest of the town will be totally hacked off at Nicole when she returns from prison she'll be boarding at Maggie's, too.

BTW - why don't they ever mention Alice any more? I know she can't be on the show now but are we to believe that poor lady is all by herself over in the Horton House? Realistically someone would mention her once in awhile.

I loved Ciara wanting to be the next one kidnapped but my biggest chuckle today was this one: "Then how come we never see your husband or kids around here," asks Mia. Excellent observation!

Thanks for the cheer on a dreaded cloudy/frosty Monday, Prevuze.

"... Now if only Ivan would come back to Salem ...."

Sorry, WingNut, it's not going to happen. :(
I read somewhere last summer, when it first came out that Vivian (Louise) was going to return, that she signed on for a year. The actor who played Ivan (can't remember his name) had other projects and couldn't commit. The article mentioned that he had recently been in an action movie ... forget the name, began with a 'T' .... Terminator, Transformer or ???. Can you tell it's not my favorite type of movie? LOL

I guess that's why the writers came up with 'Gus', to do Vivian's bidding.

I'm going to date myself here, but I barely remember the '84 Tigers - I was only 9. And we won't even go back to the last time the Lions were NFL champions (yes, NFL champions, not SuperBowl Champs - it was before they even had a SuperBowl).

Just wanted to congratulate Prevuze on the sterling idea of having us magnificent readers post a little something about ourselves yesterday. What a turnout!

I just checked and there were 63 posts! Ten more than when I last looked late last night.

Thanks everyone for the weekend entertainment. And, y'all feel free to comment if you haven't regularly up to this point.

Dating yourself? WingNut, you're just a pup. For Super Bowl XX, I bought a Refrigerator Perry jersey to wear to the big party I was attending. Let's put it this way. I was of legal drinking age and then some. Well, maybe a little more than "some". The party? We had a very excellent time!

WingNut! Whatsamattau? I can remember practically every box score from every baseball game played when I was 9. That was my heyday.

It's last year I have trouble remembering.

And what I had for breakfast this morning.

They say the memory is the first thing to go.

I forget what the second thing is.

I have a million of 'em.
