Nailing Her

Brady gives Nicole the cash from Victor's safe. They hug as Victor walks in and asks what's going on.

EJ leaves a phone message for Nicole as Dr. Baker walks in. "I didn't bother to knock," says Baker, "I just used my key."

Lucas contemplates Chloe's ring. Well, technically it's his ring now. He starts to chuck it into the river, but miraculously a moment of sanity strikes him and he stops in mid throw. An umpire walks up, calls a balk and awards second base to the runner on first. Kate finds him and asks why Chloe ran out. Lucas says he just wants to be alone. Kate, of course, presses. Lucas says, "Chloe dumped me, OK?"

Understanding mommy screams, "What the hell did you say to her?"

Chloe shows up at Daniel's place and asks him to run away with her. Danny isn't in a runnin' away mood. He's in a stay and play mood.

Melanie breaks into the Titan computer. She prints off the Alternative Fuels Project blueprint. As it comes off the printer and she reaches for it, Phillip walks up and grabs her arm., "You just made a very big mistake."

Melanie insists the blueprints are hers, "Y'know, your eyes get meaner and scrunchier when you're mad." Phillip shreds the printout. He tells her he made the administrator password easy on purpose and has the whole thing on the security camera.

Victor rants and makes accusations about Nicole's character. Nicole counters, "You came home, is it dawn already?" Victor ignores her and tells Brady he should know better than to involve his family in one of Nicole's schemes. He turns to Nicole, "You're gonna tell me right now what you need that money for."

Brady jumps in, "She doesn't have to. I will. Would you believe it's Titan's Nicole Walker stimulus plan?"

Mommy orders sonny boy to find Chloe and straighten things out. Lucas says he doesn't know what's going on, "Maybe she got cold feet. Maybe she just doesn't want to be married to me, like all the other women who have dumped me."

Chloe begs. Daniel refuses to run away with her and wants to know what's up. Chloe tells him she told Lucas it's over. Daniel says he just wants Chloe to be happy. She tells Daniel she didn't tell Lucas why she can't marry him, but when Maggie finds out she broke the engagement, Lucas will find out. Danny gets cozy. Chloe backs off. She wants to get cozy in another town somewhere.

Nicole continues to snipe at Victor, "He's giving me the money because he lost a bet, He bet you weren't an arrogant jerk." Brady shuts her up and weaves a tale about being down and out and not wanting to go to Granddad for money. He says he borrowed it from Nicole and he's paying her back, with Granddad's money, which he didn't want to borrow in the first place. He's too proud to borrow, but not to steal. He says if Nicole can't leave with the money, he will leave with her. Victor proves he's not as sharp as we think he is when he passes that offer up. Brady tells Nicole to go. She walks out, avec cash.

Brady wants to know if he had asked for it, would Victor have given him the money. Victor scowls, "NO!"

"See," says Brady, "You don't trust me."

"TRUST YOU," screams Victor, "I JUST CAUGHT YOU ROBBING MY SAFE!"

Baker tells EJ he's there to check on the baby. He asks to talk to Nicole. EJ is suspicious and says she's not there. He tells Baker to leave Nicole alone.

Phillip dances around and chants, "You do the crime – you gotta do the time." Melanie sasses and Phillip warns her, "You'd better watch your mouth. You won't want to do any trash talking like that when you're in the big house."

Melanie asks, "Just where did Titan's stock close today? It's down a bit, isn't it? What do you think will happen to it when I tell people a poor little girl is being put away by the bad boys who run the place."

"If they find out it was you we put away," says Phillip, "We'll be up for some sort of a medal. You make Lady Macbeth look passive."

Melanie stops Phillip from calling the police, "You don't want to do that. One... you don't want the bad publicity, two... you don't want me to go and three... the last time the Salem Police Department did anybody any good was when they accidentally rescued Mrs. Peabody's cat from a tree in 1999."

Max is on the phone with Nick and tells him to worry about himself, not the poor folks in Salem, "Yeah, Melanie asks about you all the time."

On his way out, Dr. Baker turns and tells EJ, "You know, new fathers become proprietary. Not just human fathers. Baboons, too."

"At least," says EJ, "Baboons know the difference between proprietary and possessive."

Brady tells Victor he won't lie any more, but he's tired of Victor choosing his friends for him. "So basically this is all my fault," snarls Victor. Brady thinks it's time to be completely honest with each other.

Lucas tells Kate to butt out. Kate says she knows what triggered this, "I think my illness, Chloe being the donor and caring for Allie had something to do with this. Through it all, though, you were a rock."

"Let's not discuss my IQ," says Lucas.

Daniel thinks it's a good thing that Chloe made a decision today, but he says running away is a horrible idea.

Melanie suggests coming up with another way to solve their differences. Phillip has another way, but it's not what Melanie has in mind. The security guy arrives. Phillip tells him since Melanie is no longer an employee to take her security badge as he boots her out the door. Melanie insists, "That prototype is mine. One of these days I'll wipe that smug smile off your face."

"That's already been done," says Phillip, "Well, actually my plastic surgery did the opposite. It wiped the face off my smile." The guard escorts Melanie out.

Nicole arrives at the mansion. EJ sees her come in and he explodes, "Where the hell have you been?"

Daniel snuggles in and tells Chloe it's OK if she has to go away, but he won't go with her. He wants her in his life, but they have to take it one step at a time, "The first step is wham-bam-than-you-ma'am." He calms her down and cops a few, but his pager interrupts.

"Is it an emergency," whines Chloe.

" I Hope it's not an emergency," says Daniel, "Because it's Kate."

Brady doesn't think he should be working for Victor if he doesn't have faith in him. He wants to know if Victor trusts him. Victor says he does, but he'll trust him more after he changes the combination on his safe.

EJ lectures Nicole for leaving her baby daughter at home. Nicole shoves a package at him and tells him it's an apnea monitor. EJ apologizes for ever doubting her.

Chloe says, "I was really stupid tonight."

"It's good to be consistent," says Daniel. He invites her to stay. She refuses. Daniel has to go. He gives her a goodbye feel but his pager goes off again and he has to hurry things alone. He leaves. Chloe sits, "You burned your brides tonight. Where do we go now?"

Brady continues to insist he was paying back a loan. Victor growls, Nicole's baby almost died tonight and she's trolling for cash. She doesn't care about that kid. She probably gave birth and slithered away." Brady leaves.

Melanie comes into the Cheatin' Heart and tells Max what happened at Titan, "Phillip's probably already put the video on the Internet."

"Video," asks Max, "You didn't pull a Paris Hilton thing did you?"

"No," she says, "Paris is a mature, level-headed woman compared to me. I may have hacked into his computer."

"You should be grateful he didn't throw you into prison," says Max.

Melanie vows, "At first it was about the money but now, Phillip and me... it's personal."

Phillip tells Victor about catching Melanie breaking into the computer system. He says he didn't have her arrested, though. Victor blows up.

"We have the security tape," says Phillip, "We can use it at any time to nail her."

Victor growls, "I think we disagree on the definition of nailing her."

EJ and Nicole share a lighter moment. She reminds him she said things would get better after the baby was born. She smooches, "This is the better part." She moves in, but her phone rings. Playful EJ starts to get into her purse to fish it out for her. Nicole jumps out of her skin and tells him to get his grubby mitts off her purse.

Kate meets up with Daniel at the hospital. She tells him she's worried about Lucas. "That's funny," says Daniel, "I'm not worried about him at all any more."

Lucas broods.

Prevuze

Brady finds him, but Lucas stomps off as Chloe comes up. She asks what Lucas said.

Nicole grabs her purse from EJ and digs around for the phone. She says there is a surprise in there for him. The phone stops ringing and Nicole says she just wants to go up for a good night's sleep. She continues to insist she has a surprise for him. EJ offers to take care of Sydney and they decide to rendezvous upstairs. Still playful, EJ gives her a butt slap as he heads up. Nicole jumps and says, "For a minute there I thought Daniel has walked into the room." EJ goes upstairs.

Nicole opens the door to find Dr. Baker standing there, "YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TEXTED ME!"

"I didn't know how else to let you know I was cooling my heels outside," says Baker.

Kate tells Daniel knowing Lucas was happy got her though the past few months. She wonders what happened to him and Chloe. Daniel just can't imagine.

Chloe asks what Brady is doing down there. He says he usually catches a late Junkies Anonymous meeting at St. Michael's. But, of course, he's got some time and thinks Chloe needs to decompress. Chloe asks, "Did you ever think you have to be really stupid to be happy?"

"Yes," says Brady, "That's why I'm surprised you're not happier than you seem to be. You have to take things one day at a time. Today will end and then all you have to do is worry about is tomorrow."

"If you break into song, I'm leaving," says Chloe.

Phillip thinks putting Melanie in jail would have been bad publicity. Victor still thinks Phillip is interested in her, "Newsflash. Sometimes men like women who are less than virtuous." Phillip insists he wants nothing to do with Melanie and also that she has nothing on them.

Max slaps an envelope onto the bar and tells Melanie it's a copy of the blueprints, which Nick has sent from prison.

Melanie smiles, "Phillip you are not going to know what hit you."

Nicole pays Baker and tells him this is all she has and there will be no more payments. Baker tells her she has it all, "And to lose all this would be unbearable."

He walks off and Nicole vows not to lose it, "No matter what." she goes upstairs.

EJ leaves a phone message for Nicole as Dr. Baker walks in. "I didn't bother to knock," says Baker, "I just used my key."

Too bad he didn’t walk in on Stefano.

He starts to chuck it into the river, but miraculously a moment of sanity strikes him and he stops in mid throw. An umpire walks up, calls a balk and awards second base to the runner on first.

With pitchers and catchers reporting this week, Prevuze makes a flawless transition from football to baseball. I wouldn’t expect anything less from the best sports blog on the Internet!

He tells her he made the administrator password easy on purpose and has the whole thing on the security camera.

…along with his make out sessions with Stephanie.

Nicole counters, "You came home, is it dawn already?"

It just goes to show you that old adage is true…it takes a vampire to spot a vampire.

”Maybe she just doesn't want to be married to me, like all the other women who have dumped me."

P W Horton is correct. Thanks KOTU for that ever so delicate definition of “P W”.

"TRUST YOU," screams Victor, "I JUST CAUGHT YOU ROBBING MY SAFE!"

Victor certainly is getting the best lines and continues to prove he has the most working brains cells in Salem!!! It’s a toss up between Lucas and EJ for the fewest brain cells. Apparently, a Sami/Nicole combo cocktail does a number on the cerebellum.

Phillip thinks putting Melanie in jail would have been bad publicity.

Who cares? It’s time Phillip uses his good leg to drop kick Melanie into the nearest hoosegow.

Once again, Prevuze, thanks for the stellar hump day recap! It’s what I needed on this rainy and gloomy morning.

Nicole is feeling frisky one day after supposedly giving birth? That should have been a clue to EJ right there. What about the things that come with delivering a child naturally? Bleeding, soreness, possible episiotomy? Heck, I didn't think I was ready at 6 weeks!

Now, Lisha, it's been a whole TWO days now so of course Nicole's ready to romp. She was back in her size 0 jeans a half an hour after "giving birth" wasn't she? HAHAHA

Bulldog, once again, hits the nail on the head with the picture of the twins.

Melanie breaks into the Titan computer.

Teenage dimwit can break into your secured computer system, easy password or not, I’d say you needed a new IT staff.

Nicole counters, "You came home, is it dawn already?"

Damn, that was a funny one.

"See," says Brady, "You don't trust me." "TRUST YOU," screams Victor, "I JUST CAUGHT YOU ROBBING MY SAFE!"

Again with the good comeback. Is it just me or is it almost like they have a new writer on the DOOL staff?

Dr. Baker turns and tells EJ, "You know, new fathers become proprietary. Not just human fathers. Baboons, too."

Again with the great shot! Poor choice of words aside, pretty impressive. Almost prevuism good.

But, of course, nothing is as good as Prevuze - best sports, medical, relationship, wordsmith blog on the Internet!

I really need to start keeping a log of all Victor's "observations" about the morons of Salem. This may be his best barb to date:

Victor growls, Nicole's baby almost died tonight and she's trolling for cash. She doesn't care about that kid. She probably gave birth and slithered away."

Oh EJ, how many more times will you bust in on Nicole in thick state of suspicious uproar only to back down after Nicole gives you some stupid excuse? This is killing me, get a friggin' clue already! In this case your father is right, she's playing you!

"That's already been done," says Phillip, "Well, actually my plastic surgery did the opposite. It wiped the face off my smile."

The plastic surgery comment isn't italicized - did Phillip actually say this? If so, it (along with many of Victor's and Nicole's lines today) seem to hold up Applecheeks's theory that DOOL must have hired a new writer with a sense of humor. Now if only they'd hire a head writer with a bit of common sense that knows how to come up with a good story line and then keep said story line moving.

Phillip changed the administrator password and made it easy on purpose. More likely one of the Titan IT geeks did it for him.

I've always liked Victor! I had to laugh in yesterday's when he got to the almost Prevuism worthy line he'd pay $1,000 not to hear Chloe sing.

LOL over "Through it all you were a rock." "Let's not discuss my IQ" says Lucas. and "Did you ever think you have to be really stupid to be happy?" "Yes," says Brady, "That's why I'm surprised you're not happier than you seem to be." HAHAHAHA

Prevuze - the best way to beat the gloomy weather blues. Thanks!

Lisha.

It seems to be commonplace in Salem to get down and dirty soon after giving birth.

Belle tried to jump Phil's bones the day after having Claire, too.

Victor can so read Phil. Phil's got it bad for Melanie and that ain't nothing but gooooood.

It should have been italicized. Then again, the italics in Prevuze are a courtesy, not a requirement.

I've said it before but, when Prevuze started, there were no italics. It was fun for me, but fried too many brains, so we had to add them. I'm now considering making the April Fools' edition of Prevuze italics free. I think that would be appropriate.

Yeah. April Fools. No italics.

Why wait for April Fool's Day -- how about Friday the 13th? Or is DOOL itself scary enough??

Eh, as much as I like Melanie - I'm not enjoying her fixation with Philip. God forbid this show have one character who isn't driven to the moon and back because of their uncontrollable libido.

PW Horton
haha, it took me a while to get what KOTU was talking about.

He tells her he made the administrator password easy on purpose and has the whole thing on the security camera.
Isn't this like, entrapment??

Granddad's money, which he didn't want to borrow in the first place. He's too proud to borrow, but not to steal.
lmao, I was thinking similar thoughts.

I may have hacked into his computer."
Hacked? More like broke into really.

"I didn't know how else to let you know I was cooling my heels outside,"
Cooling my heels? How about just saying; "I didn't know how to tell I was at the front door."

So... Philip set up a situation wherein he forced somebody to 'steal' something that didn't belong to him in the first place?? I mean if having the blueprints isn't even her right, then he could sue her 6 ways to Sunday for evening being in possession of it.

why doesn't Nicole turn the ringer off on her phone? I mean my ringer is off when I don't want to be disturbed. Her phone is always ringing at the most inopportune times.

And how come Daniel has a pager? Pagers are so 90's, you think he'd be receiving texts and directly corresponding about the emergency via cell phone.

Oh wait, this is DOOL--I forgot.

10:10 AM
Blogger Prevuze said...

Cooling my heels?

OK. I'm not sure that's exactly what he said.

Pagers are so 90's

It may not have been a pager, but the way the actor looks at it, it looks more like he's checking a pager than reading a text message.

Why wait for April Fool's Day -- how about Friday the 13th? Or is DOOL itself scary enough??

The thought of getting all the hate mail that would generate on the day before Valentine's day is scary enough to stop me.

It seems Dr. Dan is already losing interest in Chloe now that there won't really be a need to sneak around anymore. I wonder who he'll fixate on next. Maybe Sidney? Or Maggie?

Ok. I have to say it. I want to know the brand name of the mascara they use on Chloe. That stuff just does not run. All that "crying" she was doing and not a single black streak down her high cheeks. Now they're not trying to make us believe she's not wearing eye makeup are they?
That's just a joke.
Now, was it my vision or when Clueless Lucas held up that ring, it looked like it could fit a superbowl linebacker?
Dumbera and Sillyakis both playing Lil ole Melanie. This is getting fun.
And why all the sudden is Daniel's love life the main focus of every old bitty in Salem? He should sue them all for harrassment.
If the Dimera mansion is so well bugged that there are security tapes for every room, why does Nicole feel safe talking to little Sydney and Brady about her secrets?
All they have to do is roll back the tapes and see all her plotting and planning. I can't wait to see this blow up in her face. And when Stephano realizes she went to Kiriakis for the money to fund her lies to the Dimeras? Whoa mama. And then when Victor finds out what that ten grand was really for and it's going to fund Nicoles lies to the Dimeras....Step back.
