Insane And Obstructive Things

Stefano lectures EJ about Nicole being in jail while she is pregnant with his kid. EJ insists he did everything to stop it. Stefano goes into a rage, "MY HEIR IS GESTATING IN A JAIL CELL!" EJ tells him Judge Fitzpatrick is a turncoat. He can't believe she sided with Bo Brady, and says there is nothing they can do. Stefano wants to do something immediately, "For starters, we can hire a law firm that knows what it is doing."

Nicole talks to Junior-Junior #2 and then decides she needs a little attention. She gets up, grabs her tin cup and rakes it across the bars, "Guard! Help me I'm in pain!"

A gal in the audience stands up and yells, "So are we!"

Stephanie walks into the Cheatin' Heart and bellies up to the bar, where Max is working. "How about a Flirtini," asks Max.

Phillip brings Chelsea in. Chelsea rants about Melanie as they sit down at their table, "She's a liar and a phony and now clearly a gold digger."

Phillip says, "No offense but isn't that what people used to say about you?"

Melanie unpacks. Suddenly, she discovers something is missing, "OMG, where is it?" She remembers packing and seeing a note that had been pushed under her door. She remembers picking it up and reading it.

Downstairs, Nick looks at the note and gets out a pen and paper. Then, he changes his mind, puts it away, folds the note, picks up a lipstick case and considers it. "No," he thinks, "It's not my color."

Melanie walks in, "OMG..."

Chelsea is in shock, "Way to kick me when I'm down." She throws one of her patented brat-fits.

Phillip says, "Maybe Nick isn't the one who needs the intervention. You don't want to be with him, but you don't want anyone else to have him."

"Hey," snorts the brat, "I'd like a little sensitivity here."

"Hey," says Phillip, "I'd like a human being to talk to." He brings up Daniel, but she tells him Daniel is off limits.

"Apparently not to Kate, " says Phillip. Suddenly, Chelsea flips poles and decides she's the one who's being insensitive. She asks how he is doing. Phillip insists he's fine but says he can't stop thinking about his mom.

Stephanie decides a Flirtini would be fine, "But I'm not here to score some hot guy. I'm meeting my fellow interns." She wonders what he is doing back working at the Heart. Max says he needed the job and asked Adrian if he could come back, and he's working there now. They ramp up the bickering at each other. Stephanie asks, "If you're such a super-genius, why are you still whipping up Flirtinis?"

Max says, "This is none of your business."

Prevuze

Abe and Lexie come in for a night out before the election. Lexie tells him how much she wants him to win the election. Abe says her support means everything to him.

"This has nothing to do with support, " says Lexie, "You need a damn job. But I have to say, things are looking up." Translation: Abe may soon be lying on Stefano's doorstep himself.

Stefano outlines his plan. All they have to do is catch the real killer. EJ is stunned Stefano would think of such a brilliant scheme. "What," asks Stefano, "From sarcasm to silence? You are her attorney. Should I assume you believe she is innocent." Elvis says he wants to. Stefano is stunned, "She did kill Robbins? Is that what you are saying?"

"I don't know," says EJ, "There is your answer."

Nicole flips out. She tells the guard she thinks she is losing her baby.

Max Hands Stephanie her Flirtini. She starts pounding it down and says, "You don't look happy doing what you're doing."

"It's not the job that makes me unhappy," says Max, "It's the company." Max tells her Nick and Melanie are living together.

Nick says Melanie startled him. She says she's not used to having people go through her purse. Nick says he accidentally knocked it over. She asks about his project and hones in on the profit. Nick takes a piece of paper and writes down a figure. Melanie looks to what he wrote and gets light headed, "Man! I can't count that high."

"Well, believe me, " says Nick, "It's way more than $10. Of course, some of that will go to the Horton foundation. That's where the $10 comes in." He says her dad was a part of the project so it will be their money, not just his.

Chelsea rambles, "Who cares if Nick and Melanie are together? I do. I care. I guess my pettiness is alive and kicking again." Phillip reminds her Nicole, not Melanie, has been charged with Trent's murder. She asks if he thinks Nicole did it.

Nicole begs. The guard taunts, "You're nothing more than a conniving actress. I recognize Misty Circle when I see her."

Misty is indignant, "You disgusting pig!"

The guard lays it on the line, "Misty, you have to be nicer to me to get what you want out of me."

Stefano says the baby is the end game. He says Elvis has to do whatever it takes to protect the child.

Nick and Melanie speculate about what they would do with all that money. She thanks him for giving her something to dream about and then leaves. Nick leers as she walks away.

Max thinks Stephanie should admit she has been wrong about Melanie. Stephanie thinks maybe Melanie isn't a murderer, "But she's a liar and a bitch."

"At least she would never stoop to name-calling," says Max. Max reminds Stephanie she is the one who went behind his back.

"Well," snorts Stephanie, "Aren't you the saint!" She slides off her barstool and whips around only to bump into Phillip.

Nicole spits, "Pervert! Sick creep! How can you... Please call a doctor." The guard is unmoved. Nicole erupts, "If anything happens to Stefano DiMera's grandchild and he finds out you're at fault, you're the one who's gonna need a doctor. Scratch that, you'll need an undertaker." Seeing the sleazy guard is unmoved, she resorts to begging.

Stefano thinks Samantha is what is causing the conflict in EJ, "Perhaps you feel you are betraying her in some way?"

Melanie sits in bed and verbally designs her mansion. Nick knocks. He brings in a midnight snack and warm milk. She says she is tired and doesn't really need it. Nick decides to leave it for her. He sets it down, walks into the hall and closes the door behind him. Melanie listens at the door. Nick stands on the over side.

The doctor examines Nicole. He removes the thermometer and checks it. Nicole rants, "I don't have a fever. I'm not even hot."

The guard chimes in, "Oh, you're hot all right."

The doctor tells Nicole her cramping is normal. He starts to leave but Nicole begs him to stay. Sleazo the guard escorts him out anyway, "Too bad, Misty. Pipe down and go to sleep."

EJ says he doesn't want to hear what Stefano thinks of his love life. He thinks it all leads back to Stefano's obsession with his children and grandchildren, "You do insane and obstructive things in the name of protecting your family. I, on the other hand, truly love my unborn child."

Stefano zones in on that one, "But not Nicole?"

"Nicole is very important to me," says EJ, "We'll leave it at that." He walks off.

Melanie opens the door to her room and finds Nick loitering outside. "You're hovering," she says. Nick says he's hesitating out there because he's trying to decide if he should say something about the note.

Phillip and Stephanie untangle themselves. He invites her to join Chelsea and him at their table. Chelsea starts in on Melanie and Stephanie shrivels into a little ball, "NO! NOT HER! I can't stand talking about her any more."

Chelsea gets up, "I'm going to go order another round of drinks."

That happens a lot when I join people," says Stephanie.

Chelsea walks up to Max at the bar, "Your former girlfriend is wasted and I want to know if you're going to do her job and cut her off."

"I guess I should," says Max, "That would pay her back for cutting me off."

Nicole tosses and turns. She looks across the room.

SSCCRREEAAMM!

The guard comes running up and Nicole tells him she has discovered a cockroach in the cell. He hands her a toilet brush and tells her to clean it up. As he walks away Nicole shouts, "Do I get a shower?"

"You're not scheduled for that till next week.?"

Nicole looks down at Junior-Junior #2 and says, "I thought I was brought into this world under lousy circumstances." She promises the baby it will have more than she did, and then she breaks down.

Abe tells Lexie he knows running the city will be a big job, "But one good thing, I won't have to answer to city hall." Lexie gets a call. From Stefano.

Nicole schemes, "If they need proof... proof is what they will get." She slides the wooden end of the brush along the bars, "GUARD! I'm IN PAIN!"

The guard walks up and hands her a TV remote, "Turn off DOOL. The pain will go away."

Nick asks about the note. Melanie says she was freaked out about it and so she didn't tell him. She says she has no idea who sent it. Nick says he feels really protective of her. He says he knows she doesn't remember what happened in the cemetery. Melanie wonders how he could possibly know that and he says its because Max told him. He wants to do something for her. Melanie thinks all she needs is some privacy. He says he won't bother her any more, "If you have trouble sleeping, my room is just down the hall." He leaves. Melanie scowls.

EJ comes in to the jail and finds Nicole's cell empty. He asks the guard, "Where is she?"

Stephanie decides she's selfish and asks Phillip about Kate. Phillip gives her the rundown and Stephanie says, "I will add her to my prayers." She gets up and stumbles. Phillip suggests taking her home. She says she can take a cab, "I can cake tare of myself." Phillip escorts her out. Chelsea and Max watch. Chelsea decides she has to watch out for Nick. She says she thinks Melanie is derailing Nick's life and wants to know if Max is going to do something about it.

Stefano asks Lexie if Abe has decided who he will appoint commissioner. He asks her to tell Abe not to think about appointing Roman for the position because Roman is gunning for him. Lexie hangs up and tells Abe what Stefano wanted.

"He will have to keep on worrying because he will have zero influence over me," says Abe, "Salem will be a new a town under Abe Carver."

Lexie says, "That surprises me. I thought Salem had already sunk as low as it could get." They toast the Carver administration.

The guard tells EJ Nicole is at the hospital. EJ calls and asks about her, "Yes... Nicole walker... you're sure?" He hangs up and tells the guard, "She's not at the hospital, so where is she?"

Melanie tosses and turns. She remembers the distorted voice calling her. Downstairs, Nick drinks his warm milk and imagines an idyllic marriage to Melanie. She says she loves him so much and he is her knight in shining armor. Nick moves in.

Nick defanticizes and stares.

"Guard! Help me I'm in pain!"

A gal in the audience stands up and yells, "So are we!"

I’m already grabbing my stomach. Pass the barf bags…stat!!!

Nick looks at the note and gets out a pen and paper. Then, he changes his mind, puts it away, folds the note, picks up a lipstick case and considers it. "No," he thinks, "It's not my color."

The DOOL writers have successfully morphed Nick the genius into Nick the pathetic dip wad. What would they do with an intelligent likeable character?

"You don't look happy doing what you're doing."

"It's not the job that makes me unhappy," says Max, "It's the company."

OK, this works every time. You pick up your remote, hit the fast forward button, and ZAAAAAAPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!

Stefano asks Lexie if Abe has decided who he will appoint commissioner.

Maybe Abe should consider naming Stefano as commissioner. He’s already eager to figure out who killed Trent and solving Mayor Scumbag’s murder would be a piece of cake for Stefano.

Nicole is in the Salem slammer, and she is being sexually harassed by a guard. Geez. First of all, wouldn’t a female guard be dealing with the women? Sami scared off Hilda, who apparently was Salem “talent”. It seems this would be a perfect gig for her.

Oh, Prevuze, that censored link is too naughty for words!!! It’s quite the promo for “Rafe and Sami Make a Prono”!!!!! Thanks for a great start to the work week!!!

Mmmmmm, yes. The censored link certainly woke me up from my weekend stupor.

Nick picks up a lipstick case and considers it. "No," he thinks, "It's not my color."

Hilarious prevuism, but what IS going on with Nick? Spoilers report he will turn out to be the killer, but one minute he's defending Melanie, then he's writing threatening note. Next minute he's fanticizing about a marriage with her, then he's making weird phone calls.

They showed Nick taking some sort of medication the other day. I wonder if his actions will turn out to be something related to the pills he's on?

My HUH?! moment:
Lexie tells Abe how much she wants him to win the election.

Since his opponent is DEAD, I’d think Abe would have at least a 50/50 chance of winning! Of course, it would have been too late to take the ex-mayor’s name off the ballots so maybe they’re afraid he could still win by a landslide. LOLOL

Great Prevuze as usual. Monday morning, here I come.

I think it would be great if Joe Schmoe, some up until now unmentioned person who was the independent candidate won the election over Abe.

I can't believe Stephanie actually voiced what we've been asking - why the great genius and supposedly big deal racecar driver hasn't come up with something better than working in a couple of bars.

Is it just me or is it getting more difficult to tell who's with whom now? Phillip, Chelsea, Max, Stephanie, Nick, Melanie...all of these conversations and who's confiding in whom, etc. Too much for my feeble mind.

I LOL ove "Lexie says, "That surprises me. I thought Salem had already sunk as low as it could get." because it wasn't italicized and I'm sure it was supposed to be. HAHAHA And how can you beat a great censored link on a Monday morning?

Thanks, Prevuze!

When did Philip become the goto guy for girls like Chelsea, Stephanie and Melanie to run to about their problems. Now I do want to say I would love a Stephanie/Philip relationship but I could never see him sitting around (on Halloween) listening to Stephanie whine about a breakup.

Then Chelsea comes over and whines about Nick.

Somehow I think I'd rather Nick be considering using lipstick then this other path they are going down with him.

Oops. But I remind you, back in the day, nothing in Prevuze was italicized. Ahhh... the good old days.

Applecheeks: Since EJ was going to take Nicole on a ride to Chicago, Salem could very well be in Cook County. Recently, the incumbant for the county presidency suffered a stroke. Despite his illness, it was likely he was going to remain on the ballot. After some debate, it was decided his son would run in his place. Trust me. The incumbant would have won even though no one was providing any information regarding the state of his health. Apparently, county/machine politics also includes the law of primogeniture. Why doesn't that surprise me?

That censored link! OMG! Can they do that on the internet?

LOVED the censored link today! Nicole is really bothering me lately. I used to really like the character, but the writers are ruining her! Why should I be surprised??? The writers ruin most of the characters!!!

It looks like Nick will turn out to be Trent's killer. On one hand, I'm glad it wasn't Claude or some other predictable person, but I was kinda hoping it would be Melanie, I'm really sick of her!!

Leslie! Trying to explain Cook County politics to outsiders is like trying to explain birth control to the people of Salem.
They might understand it, but in the end they wouldn't be able to apply it to anything relevant in their lives.

Bulldog I was wondering the same thing. When did Phillip become Dr. Phil?
Phillip is an expert on relationships? Riiiight, because his marriage to Belle was so successful. And he's had so many true and lasting relationships since then.
