Food For Thought

No feed today, gang. Instead we get Wimbledum Thursday and Friday, from what we understand. In the meantime, one of our regular readers, Gordon Davidescu, has offered some food for thought with this list of questions that have never been resolved (and should be).

1. Why did the gloved hand make all of those switches at the hospital - getting the surrogate pregnant with Philip's sperm and Belle pregnant with Shawn's sperm? What was the ultimate in doing that?

2. How is it possible that the hospital, having found out what happened, never followed up with any sort of investigation?

3. What kind of drug could Marlena possibly have concocted that would be completely untraceable in Stefano's body?

4. When my grandmother had just suffered her stroke and was completely unresponsive, we didn't just stop visiting her. How do they explain that not a single DiMera has gone to visit Stefano, even if just to have a good laugh at his suffering?

5. Lexie turned out to be okay - that's great. Tek was with her in the car - why didn't she have anything to say about Tek or what happened to him?

6. Even if it was in a "past life" with which he no longer associates, how could it be that nobody has told John that EJ shot him?

7. Whatever happened to the investigation into John's shooting? Did they just give up?

8. Doug and Julie can amazingly come from whatever distance just to be with the family at special occasions, but somehow they can't seem to get Eric to come to Salem for a couple of days?

9. Seriously, what really happened on that island that removed the Devil Card programming from Patch?

10. How do they explain that Max never really showed any exceptional math aptitude when he was running the garage, but now he is a genius?

11. Last, but hopefully not least, why has not a single character ever stopped to say, "Hey: the amount of ridiculous life-threatening things that have happened to my family and I is greater than that which occurs to at least the average city worth of people, if not state. Why can't we just get a break for a minute?"

Thanks, Gordon. Make it a great day, folks. And if anyone was upset we called that great tennis tournament "Wimbledum," you have our sincere apologies. We actually meant "Wimbledumb."

Gordon, great list! My favorite: How do they explain that Max never really showed any exceptional math aptitude when he was running the garage, but now he is a genius? (Or for that matter he never really shows any smarts any time at all.) HAHAHAHA

I bet between us readers we can add greatly to the list. One I've always wondered about, when Squints was in the hospital didn't they show Tek or someone sneaking in and injecting some devious drug into his IV? What was that all about?

Prevuze, it's good to know we can still get a great Daze fix even without a regular episode. Thanks! :D

Good questions! But now my head hurts thinking about them! Number 1 and number 5 always did have me perplexed....

Holy Toledo, Prevuze! Those questions could go on ad-infinitum. Another couple of lingering mysteries I've wondered about:

1. What about Kristen, last seen being bundled off to be some Middle Eastern sex slave?

2. What happened to EJ's mom, Susan? Why didn't she let anyone know Stephano had gotten hold of EJ? Why wasn't the ISA keeping an eye on her?

3. During one of the many island adventures involving John and Stephano, Steph and Rolf kept shuffling a body under a sheet all over the place to keep John from finding out what it was. So, what was that all about?

4. Speaking of bodies under sheets, why did they make such a big deal about Larry Welch's hand falling out from under the one covering him when he was supposedly dead?

5. And what happened to Colin who was on Melaswen with everyone else, but never seen after the island blew up?

I could go on, but will leave some room for others to add.

Daze has so many scratch your head moments that it’s really hard to choose. However, I must admit I wonder what happened to the warrior woman medallion that Colleen gave to Belle. Belle gave it to Jawn asking him to pass it on to Sami. After Jawn dumped it in the trash, Marlena rescued it. I figured at some point that DOOL would make a big deal about Marlena giving it to Sami. Silly me…why would Daze want to go to all that trouble to finally resolve a storyline?

Wimbledumb is right. Why bother? It will be Federer and one of the Williams sisters. DOOL has more drama.

I have one. Does anyone remember Neil Curtis? He went off to surgery to operate and never returned. How long of a procedure was that?

Does anyone watch Wimbledumb anymore?

As for the list, wonderful questions, I still wonder how many times can people die on this show.... and how many times is Lexie going to lie, cheat on and totally disrespect Abe before he decides to grow a pair and leave her for good LOL

As to the first question,

I read that it was Kate who was suppose to turn out to be the mysterious Gloved Hand, but, due to the shake up with the then head writer, that particular version of the storyline was scrapped, and the Black Glove was tied to EJ's arrival and the DiMera's.

However, to tie up the discrepencies and the fact that EJ was under surveillance by the Gloved Hand, EJ told Patrick after being accused of switching the embroyues, that there were MANY Black Glove operatives in Salem!

EJ seemed genuinely surprised by Patrick's accusation about switching the embbyoes.

I think that a lot of the more dastardly deeds and crimes were conducted by Andre and Bart.

Although I think that an unstable Andre took Stefano's instructions and overdid them! X-E-R-E-S-A

Oh, sorry.

Love the unanswerable questions! It truly makes you appreciate the phrase
Embrace The Lunacy!

I too have a special blog post in honor of Wimbledumb.
Be sure to check it out!!

Just another couple questions...

1. Why can't we have just one little scene where Kayla confronts Steve about hitting the sheets with Ava? Are we really supposed to believe that she just swept that under the rug?

2. I seem to remember Hope tossing her wedding ring into the ocean when she was on that little island getaway with Patrick -- aren't we going to have yet another lavish, overdone Bo/Hope wedding to renew their vows and get her a wedding band?

3. Since Steve had been declared legally dead, are he and Kayla still married? Seems to me that Mickey and Maggie's marriage was ended when Maggie was declared dead -- that's when the whole Bonnie fiasco started. Wouldn't that be yet another opportunity for a big ratings-grabbing wedding?

Just wondering...

Great questions. Too bad they'll never be answered. The never ending dropping of s/l's makes me ill!

Except for the gloved hand was EJ.

I agree with cfish: where is the scene where Kayla finally deals with Steve bedding Ava?? I mean, come on, that is the stuff that soaps used to exploit.

Fantastic list, thanks!

Totally agree with the question about Payla - Kay needs to get to the bottom of that one!

Also, did I just miss this? Mimi and Phillip's baby... still alive I believe, and just out there in the middle of nowhere? I'm pretty sure that was never wrapped up, but you know, sometimes Days puts you in a Daze, and you need a bit of a break! If that was worked out, then that should TOTALLY be added to the list!

I bet sometime in the future (if Days continues to have a future) some random kid will show up and say "I'm a Kiriakis. I'm your kid." to Phillip and that will make a nice long storyline. They only need to wait what... a year or two? Then the kid will be a teenager!

***That was wrapped up...sort of.
Remember, he was adopted out when he kept getting mysteriously poisoned in Payla's care and child protective services put him with another foster couple that adopted him. But, I agree, I think he'll come back one day.
My name is Kiriakis....Pocket Kiriakis.
Now, on a different note...
How does the Ava actress make her eyes do that? Sometimes they look like they're going to pop out of her head for no reason. She's not surprised or anything, they just pop out. Is she the new "squints?"
I should hush. She might have a medical problem that causes that or something.

Great post! I agree-Days has much more drama than Wimbledum...*sigh*.

Great questions! For sure Pocket Kiriakis will resurface one day. I also wouldn't be surprised if Mimi comes back one day-after all isn't Days famous for bringing back the past-dead or alive. LOL.
