Jitters

The tiresome foursome chat about the upcoming nuptials. Phillip goes through the family tree to discern who's marrying who. Brothers... sisters... incest is best.

“I hope she's not rushing into this because of the baby,” says Belle.

“Whaddya think,” asks Shawn, “Carrie still has feelings for Austin?”

“Carrie and Lucas got engaged before she knew she was pregnant,” says Mimi in a rare moment of truth, “She wouldn't have said yes if she wasn't sure... she's a smart girl, right?”

She's about as smart as the two of us put together, Mimi,” says Belle.

Oh,” says Mimi, “I guess she's not as smart as I thought she was.”

The girls hope they can join the crowd in the Salem baby factory. Mimi thanks Phillip for setting them up with Dr. Jaynes. She just hopes they don't have any more problems this time. Flashback to The Hand, a.k.a. The Glove, making the switch. Mimi doesn't think she could take any more disappointment.

In yet another flashback, Max gets out of his car after the fender-bender on the racetrack. He asks the approaching mystery driver what she thought she was doing. Mystery driver removes her helmet.

“Do you have a problem with women drivers,” she asks.

“No,” says Max, “I have a problem with any driver who almost gets me killed.”

“What do you want to do, go out for a beer,” asks MD.

“No,” says Max, “I'm going to report you to the racing authorities.”

“You're the one who lost control,” says MD, “There isn't much damage to your car. As for the damage to your ego, there isn't much I can do about that.”

Max asks, “Who are you?”

Roman thinks Carrie looks a little shaky. She claims it's just nervousness about the wedding. He asks if she is happy. She says yes. That relieves Roman, “I know life doesn't always work out the way we expect it to.”

“Yes,” says Carrie, “I thought I'd be marrying Austin today.”

Billie asks Austin if he is really ready to stand up for Lucas today.

In a gross understatement, Will says, “This is so weird. I can't believe you're marrying Aunt Carrie.” He's OK with the wedding, but doesn't want it to end in disaster like the other two with his mom. Lucas promises things will go smoothly. Translation: Look out.

Abe wonders how he and Lexie wound up like this. Tek catches up with Lexie and asks if the wedding is still going on today, “Please tell me that conniving bitch Sami got what she deserves.”

“I didn't do it,” whispers Lexie, “I couldn't.”

“WHY NOT,” asks Tek.

Kate meets up with Sami and badgers her to tell the truth. She swears she will ruin things for her and stop her at the altar, “Is that what you want to happen. I know more than you think I do. I know you left a message on Lexie's phone and I heard it.” Kate uses her little girl voice, “Hi, Lexie, let's talk. Carrie and Lucas wouldn't be getting married right now if you told everyone how I was blackmailing you.”

“Are you gonna tell them you heard that,” asks Sami.

Roman asks if Carrie has changed her mind. He wants to know if she is still in love with Austin. She tells him a part of her will always love Austin... and Mike... and the Salem Men's Glee Club. What they had was so intense, but it wasn't meant to last. She's comfortable with Lucas.

“So then you're sure,” asks Roman.

Caroline stands up. “Sure and mature,” she says, “Would you leave us alone? I have to help the bride get ready.” Roman takes a hike.

Tek wants to know why Lexie didn't pull the trigger on Sami. Lexie tells him she got a phone call. Tek wants details. Lexie says she can't say anything more. Tek grills her like Jack's hand at a BBQ.

Kate tells Sami she is the only one who heard the message and no one would believe her, but she knows there is more going on here. She vows to find out what it is, “And when I do, you are going to lose Austin for good.”

Mystery driver wants to know why Max needs to know her name. He tells her he is going to report her to the racing officials. “Oh, puleeze,” she says, “I was driving fast, but safe. Your mind was somewhere else. Let me guess... girlfriend trouble?”

“You haven't answered my question, who are you?”

Prevuze

“Obviously, you haven't done your homework and assessed your competition,” she says.

“I do my homework,” says Max, “I just haven't raced much this year and I wasn't aware there was a female driver on the circuit. Obviously, you're not doing that well.”

“Ouch,” she says, “There's a slap across the face with a GLOVE. Well, there's a girl out there now. And if you don't know my name, you're about to.”

Mimi lights a candle and asks God to bless the surrogate mother. She tells Shawn, “I've always loved weddings, and now that I've actually been the bride... it makes me feel really close to you. Not close enough to stop lying, but pretty close. She apologizes for her meltdown the night before and blames it on her hormone shots.

Giving you hormone shots is like carrying coals to Newcastle,” says Shawn, “But I love you and I want to be with you for all the Days Of Our Lives.” He leaves to call Dr. Jaynes as Belle and Phillip walk up.

“Not that there is going to be any news,” says Mimi.

“I know what he's going through,” says Phillip, “We can't wait to have a little brother or sister for Claire.” Mimi looks away.

Austin tells Billie for a long time he thought he would wind up with Carrie, but now she and Lucas will have a child together. Billie reminds him just because two people have a child together doesn't mean they will end up together, she and Bo being a case in point.

Will asks, “What if Mom does something to screw this up?”

Lucas says, “Don't worry about it. This wedding is going to be perfect. Trust me.” Will walks away and Lucas continues, “It will be perfect as long as Sami doesn't ruin another wedding.”

Shawn calls Dr. Jaynes. The good doctor tells Shawn both eggs fertilized successfully. He doesn't foresee any complications. Shawn thinks that's great news. The Hand lurks.

Roman runs into Abe. He knows things can't be easy for him, “Look Pard, I can only imagine what it would be like to get a note and then find Tek and Lexie like that. BUT, I want you to do something for yourself... Give her another chance. Abe stares.

Carrie stands behind a screen as Caroline asks if the alterations worked. “I think we have a problem,” whines Carrie.

Still can't get your butt in the dress, huh,” asks Caroline.

Austin confides in Billie he knows every time he finds himself alone with Carrie he won't be able to wonder what it would be like to be with her. Lucas walks up behind them, “Well, there's no point in that. It's great you're getting over your feelings for Carrie. You're engaged to Sami... you proposed to her. I always thought Sami would be the one to break your heart, but maybe you're going to break hers.”

Sami insists Kate won't be able to break her and Austin up because she didn't do anything wrong. Kate points out that blackmail is wrong, “Time is running out on you and your little secret, Sami.” Sami stews as Kate walks away.

Mystery racer says she has had her eye on Max ever since his rookie season. He is part of the reason she got into racing, “I knew if I worked hard enough, I could compete with you and at least I wouldn't finish last in every race. Max takes the bait. He decides everything is OK with his car and challenges her to race right now.

Austin takes Lucas aside and assures him he doesn't want to break Sami's heart and he really wants Lucas and Carrie to be happy. Lucas promises to back off of Sami.

Billie and Kate watch. Billie asks Kate what she will do when she can't meddle in her children's affairs any more. Kate will let her know just as soon as hell freezes over. They agree Lucas is happy, but they also agree Austin isn't. Kate thinks Sami is the worst thing that ever happened to Austin. She suggests maybe Billie could talk to him. Billie says neither one of them is exactly the best person to hand out love advice. Kate tells Billie Sami has a terrible secret and Lexie feels compelled to protect her. Kate vows to find out the truth. Billie warns her things could backfire on her.

Shawn comes back with the good news that the fertilization is a success. If things go well, this will be the first time Mimi has ever successfully cooked an egg.

The hand snoops around the petri dishes. A voice yells, “What the hell do you think you're doing?” The hand takes a powder.

Carrie insists she has lost weight, “How can I be pregnant if I've lost so much weight?” Caroline thinks she must've gotten the measurements wrong. Superseamstress can fix it.

Roman says everything considered, things have worked out for Sami, but she could have had things easier, had her mother and father stayed together. Abe reminds Roman everything that happened to him was because of Stefano DiMera, “I think a lot of the trouble between Lexie and me stems from the fact that she is a DiMera, not to mention a slum-dwelling slut. Stefano said she would always be true to her name... and that's what's happened. No wonder she betrayed me again and again.”

Tek sees Lexie is shaking and asks what's wrong. He says something has scared the hell out of her and it's not Sami. “No,” says Lexie, “It's not Sami... and that's all I am going to say.” She runs off. Tek vows to get to the bottom of this and find out who is protecting Sami.

Billie doesn't understand where Kate gets the time and energy to interfere in her children's lives. Kate insists she's not interfering... she's just trying to fix a few things, “Once you are all settled and happy you won't have to ask me to butt out twice. More like hundreds of times.

Pan to Lexie. Kate heads for her like a school of piranhas. Billie yells in vain for her to butt out. Lucas comes up and tells Billie he had hoped Kate would be on her best behavior today. Billie says she will be, as soon as Lucas and Carrie get to the altar. Anything before that is too much to ask for.

Kate hauls Lexie off to talk.

Austin comes up behind Sami and kisses her on the shoulder. Sami is distant, but tells him she has “Matron of Honor Jitters.” Austin stokes the fire by asking how she feels about Lucas and Carrie getting married. She's happy for him. He's finally getting everything he dreamed of. “Good,” says Austin, “I'm happy too. If we were any happier we'd have to both make a call to the suicide hotline.

Lexie tells Kate, “All right... I'll tell you the truth.”

the big grudge match is over. Max claims he went easy on her. She claims she went easy on him. That's why they finished in a dead heat. Max excuses himself. Off comes the racing suit to reveal a shirt and tie. Mystery driver says she thinks she saw something like that in a James Bond movie once. He tells her he has a wedding to to to. He would invite her but he doesn't think the racing suit would be appropriate. Of course, she peels off her racing suit to reveal her own formal attire. She announces she is going to the same wedding. He gets to drive.

Caroline works on Carrie's dress. “I don't want you to make the same mistakes I did,” says Caroline, “I wasted my entire career on DOOL. Are you having any second thoughts?” Carrie stares.

Abe tells Roman, “If this is the first time Lexie had been unfaithful, it would be different.”

Everyone has to have a hobby,” says Roman, “Please give her another chance. For Theo's sake, if nothing else.” Abe agrees to talk to her.

“The truth is...” says Lexie. Drum Roll. “...that I was unfaithful to my husband.” Kate says she knows that, along with the rest of the world. She wants to know what else is going on and how Sami fits in. Lexie says if she could blame any of this on Sami, she would. Lexie walks off.

Prevuze

“Just think,” says Belle, “Our babies are going to be born together. They will go to school together... ruin their lives together.”

Mimi decides whatever happens, they will be best friends. “Just like us,” says Phillip.

No,” says Mimi, “I was hoping they would really be best friends.

Dr Jaynes tells the tech to watch where he is going, since he almost pushed the gurney right into him. The Hand removes his glove behind a curtain.

The crowd begins to head for the sanctuary as Sami and Austin assure each other they will have a happy life. She had him worried with the blackmail thing but he knows she did it for a noble reason – for Abe and Theo.

Billie lights candles to atone for her sins, but nearly sets the church on fire. Kate wonders about Hope's ultrasound. Billie tells her she wants what Bo wants, and Bo wants hope. Kate thinks Hope might have something to say about that, especially if Patrick is the father of her baby.

Lucas comes up and says everything is about ready. Kate wishes him well and he leaves with Billie. Kate sighs.

Max can't believe mystery racer is going to the same wedding. She tells him it's at the same church where her family has all its weddings.

Caroline and Carrie run down a litany of critical people with lame excuses who couldn't come to the wedding, like her mother. Caroline gives Carrie a bracelet her forgotten mother has sent her to wear on her wedding day. Roman knocks and comes in. The warden tells the condemned woman it's time.

Kate lights a candle and prays that the world crashes down on Sami. Austin and Sami comes in. Austin can't wait to walk her down the aisle. Sami sees Kate and remembers her warning. She tells Austin she should go check on Carrie.

Tek finds Lexie outside the church. He can't stand to see her like this. She says there is nothing they can do to fix things. He hugs her as Abe comes out and watches. Abe walks off without making a scene.

The crowd settles down. The procession begins. Sami thinks, “After Lucas and Carrie are married Austin will be mine.” Kate stews. Ff Sami.

I had hoped not to have to do any work today. But now I'm going to have to spend the morning cleaning off my laptop. I got to the caption on Stephanie's picture and my mouthful of morning caffeine got spewed all over it. HAHAHAHAHA

Loved "Dancing with the Snots" and Saustin's mutual happiness/call to the suicide hotline.

This morning's Prevuze was a great kickoff for the 4th. (And speaking of kicking off....I wish one of her kids would finally plant a boot in Kate's posterior and kick her out of their life for good!)
