The Once And Future Prison Whore

Will wanders at the dock. Sami pushes Sydney in a stroller and finds him. Will is shook about Alice. Sami supports him but says he has to prepare to say goodbye.

Maggie sits in her kitchen looking at a photo album. Lexie calls, "I Hope I'm not disturbing you." She proceeds to disturb her and tells her about Brady and the drugs. Maggie heads for the hospital.

Nicole is with Brady in his hospital room, "I'm so sorry. It's all my fault."

Woozy Brady asks, "What happened?"

"You fell off the wagon."

"My head hurts like crazy," says Brady, "That fall must've been a long drop."

EJ visits Arianna in her jail cell. She anxiously (I know, it's an adverb, but it seems to fit) asks about the arraignment. EJ sighs, "I'm afraid I have some bad news for you."

DA woods joins Madeline at the pub. She wants to talk strategy about Chad's situation, "Let me do most of the talking."

"You're a woman," says Charles, "What other choice do I have?" Chad interrupts and announces he's not going to Wake Forest.

Kate is with Stefano in the rumpus room. She wants to make plans about getting into Madeline's safe deposit box. Stefano whoas her up and dangles a key, "How about if we just use the key?"

"Wow," says Kate, "Never underestimate Stefano DiMera."

"Madeline has never learned that lesson," says Stefano, "And now she will pay for it dearly." Stefano uses adverbs, too.

Doug joins Julie in the kitchen. Julie cries, "Alice has been the rock of the family."

"I thought you said that was Lucas," says Doug.

"No," says Julie, "I said Lucas is the one in the family who has the IQ of a rock."

We have a flashback of Alice telling Julie she will always have a home with them with or without her baby. Julie cries and says she isn't ready to say goodbye to Alice. Neither is Doug. They hug and cry.

Will wants to go see Alice. Sami says they will go together. They night even take Sydney. Will shuffles through the things in the stroller and finds a bill. Sami tells him it's from the contractors and they finished the townhouse, "But we'll be staying at the mansion for a while."

EJ tells Arianna all the judges cases have been pushed back, so she has to rot in jail a bit longer, "Don't worry, the time served will be taken from your sentence."

Brady insists this all wasn't his fault. Nicole agrees, "It was mine. You were upset about Arianna, and she wouldn't be in jail if it weren't for me. If I hadn't shown up in Santo Domingo, you would be married now and she wouldn't have taken her anger out on those men."

"What about the hurricane that chased us out of Santo Domingo," asks Brady.

"DOOL writers can rewrite history with the best of them," says Nicole.
Brady insists Arianna didn't attack anyone and he didn't use drugs. Nicole asks, "Then what happened to you?"

"I don't know," says Brady, "Someone must've knocked me out and put that stuff in my system. You believe me, right?"

Will wonders why Sami would want to stay at the mansion. "Partly for you," says Sami, "And for Johnny and Sydney, too. It's good for them to spend time with their father. It could be good for me to spend time with their father, too."

Will objects and tells her to do whatever she will do, "You always do anyway."

Maggie arrives at the hospital had heads for Brady, but runs into Victor. Victor says he knows whom to blame for this.

Nicole wonders who would have set Brady up. He tells her about the guy at the pub recognizing the money clip. She asks if he remembers where he went to look for it. Brady says he doesn't.

Lexie joins them. Brady screams, "No! I'm too young to die!"

Chad's parents think he should be going to Wake Forest. He reminds them Salem U is close by. Charles gets sarcastic, "Oh, so you want to be close to your overbearing parents? Don't you want to make new friends?"

"He has one friend in mind," says Madeline.

Charles asks, "Would that be Mia?"

Mia finds Gabi outside and says she's sorry about Arianna. Gabi tells her to go fly a kite and be honest for once.

Kate takes the key from Stefano, "So, all I do is trot out my best supercilious ice queen impression?"

"Yes," says Stefano, "And our secret will be safe for all the Days Of Our Lives."

Gabi walks off but Mia chases. Fifteen steps later, they have traveled from the pub to the pier. Mia tells Gabi she wants to be friends. Gabi doesn't want any part of her.

Chad insists Mia isn't the reason he's staying in Salem. He bashes Wake Forest so badly DOOL loses the entire Winston-Salem demographic. He starts to storm out but Madeline asks him to come to dinner. He agrees as long as she keeps her yap shut about Wake Forest. Chad leaves.

Charles tells Madeline maybe Chad is right and they should keep him close by. Madeline disagrees, "I don't want him associating with the wrong people."

"If you just listened to him talking, all the wrong people went to Wake Forest," says Charles.

Stefano wishes Kate good luck in her little caper, "Break a leg and God speed."

"I don't think God has anything to do with this," says Kate, "We are on our own." Kate heads out on her mission.

Julie answers the door to find Sami, Will and Sydney. Will heads up to see Alice. Julie asks, "With you and Will... is there a chill in the air?"

"It's a full-blown ice storm," says Sami, "Will doesn't approve of my living situation at the DiMera mansion."

Apparently Julie doesn't approve either, "With EJ? What in the world are you thinking?"

"Thinking," says Sami, "Now there's something I haven't tried."

EJ says he still thinks Nicole framed Arianna. He vows to get her out of jail. Translation: It won't be a life sentence.

Maggie doesn't want Victor to go into Brady's room with guns blazing, "That's my job."

Lexie asks Nicole to step out while she runs a few tests. Nicole leaves. Lexie gets into her Handy-Dandy Doctor Kit and pulls out the leaches. Outside Nicole seethes, "Damn you, Dick, you did this to him. I won't let you get away with it."

Madeline asks Charles, "Why didn't you speak up when Chad was here?"

Charles reminds her, "Because you told me to let you do the talking."

Charles goes to the Guy Manual for advice, "Give it up. You can't win this one, buddy."

Charles insists there is time to get Chad to change his mind. Madeline wonders if she should give him the gift she has for him but doesn't want him to think it's a bribe. She says she has bonds for him in her safe deposit box, "Oh, to hell with it, I'm going to give them to him anyway. Who cares if he thinks it's a bribe. Desperate measures, right?"

Stefano gets a text, "Ah, yes, Katherine should be ready for her closeup about now."

Blonde Kate gives the banker the key to the safe deposit box.

Maggie tells Victor, "When an addict has a relapse, you shouldn't lose your temper."

Victor says, "But I'm not blaming Brady. I'm blaming his girlfriend — The once and future prison whore."

Maggie says if Victor rants about Arianna, Brady will shut him down. She asks if Victor trusts her. Victor says he does.

Sydney chomps zwieback as Julie and Maggie talk about Sami living at the mansion. Julie thinks EJ is a pompous jerk, a lowlife and a criminal. She wonders how Rafe feels about this, and Sami tells her Rafe isn't her boyfriend any more.

Julie gets it, "AHA! This is a rebound thing."

"This isn't a thing."

Julie reminds her, "The last time you lived in that house of whores you and EJ wound up in bed together."

"You are being judgmental because of Lucas," says Sami.

"I make up my own mind," says Julie, "There isn't a doubt in my mind you are making the worst mistake of your life."

Mia tires to cozy up to Gabi. She says she knows she treated her horribly, "Chad is the guy I really love. Always have, always Will." Chad listens and smiles.

Kate gets into Madeline's safe deposit box.

Will tells Doug it was hard seeing Alice in such fragile condition. Doug gives advice and asks how things are going. Will says his grades weren't very good this semester.

Doug gives his best look of concern, "Your mom can't be happy about that."

"There's not much she can say about it until she gets her GED," says Will, "But I don't care what she thinks. I moved out, but there is no escaping her." He tells Doug he's living at the DiMera mansion.

Sami says, "I didn't come here to be judged."

"I'm not judging you," insists Julie. She continues to judge, "EJ is a troubled man."

Sami supports EJ, "He's kind and has (say it with her) been there for me during a tough time in my life. He is an amazing father, not to mention he's the hottest thing since the Salem U homecoming bonfire."

"I want to choose my next words carefully," says Julie, "You are... replacing Rafe with EJ and will live to regret it."

A rotten tomato splats on Julie's forehead. Guards come and escort staunch Ejami supporter Wanda Wiggins from Walla-Walla Washington out of the audience. Wanda screams as they haul her out, "I did it and I'm proud of it!"

Victor and Maggie are in Brady's room. Brady assures Victor he did not drink or use drugs. He says he thinks he was set up. Victor says he believes him. Maggie is skeptical, "That would mean the mugger knew you had a substance abuse problem."

Arianna finds Baker sleeping. She startles him. Baker jumps out of his socks as Nicole yells, "You SOB! I know what you did and I could kill you for it!"

Kate digs around in the box, but hears someone outside welcome the real Madeline to the bank. In a panic, she dumps everything from the safety deposit box into her purse and runs.

Outside, bankers take Madeline through the formal procedure of accessing her box. Suddenly, one of them gives a look of horror, "But... you're already signed in!"

Mia says Chad doesn't know how she feels. She thinks part of the reason he is leaving is because of her.

Chad steps up, "Actually, that's not true. I'm not going. I want to be with my friends... and you." Mia gives him a little "gotcha" smile.

EJ tells Arianna he will return tomorrow. "I'll cancel my trip to Cancun just so we can meet," says Arianna, "Thanks for what you are doing."

Lexie calls EJ, violates every HIPA rule in the book and tells him about Brady. EJ thanks her as Lexie assures him Brady will be fine. EJ hangs up and tells Arianna about Brady's relapse.

Victor vows to get to the bottom of this. Brady says he can handle it himself. Victor protests but Maggie stops him cold. Victor backs off.

Nicole tells Baker she came in through the window. She beats up on him for doing this to Brady. Baker admits he did it but says he had to, "It's a small price to pay. You'll get Brady in the end."

"No," drones Nicole, "This time the cost was too high."

Gabi decides this is time to leave. Mia encourages her to stay so she can watch her big bonding scene with Chad. Chad says his parents are more worried about him hanging around Will than Mia. He tells the girls about the photo of Kate and Madeline and says he and Will are going to try to find out about the picture.

Madeline looks into her safe deposit box, "Why is it empty?"

Just a wild guess, but... because there is nothing in it.

The bankers stand by her, sweat and try to come up with an explanation. Madeline orders them to get security. Apparently, Fred Frump, Chief of Security at Salem Hospital is moonlighting at the bank.

Back at the DiMera mansion, Kate and Stefano go through the rubble and find the tape. Stefano beams, "Our secret is safe. And... Madeline is finito. So much for underestimating the DiMeras." We pan in on an envelope.

Back at the hospital Victor thanks Maggie for her help. "It was a challenge shutting you up," says Maggie.

Victor takes her hand, "You just seem to understand me better than most people." Victor hangs on a little too long. Maggie's eyes grow to the size of pizza pans.

Doug is shocked Will is living at the DiMera mansion. "It's not my place to weigh in..." He weighs in, "This doesn't please me, you know what Stefano has done in his life."

"He seems to have mellowed," says Will, "He seems like a pretty cool guy."

Julie apologizes for judging. She continues to judge and tells Sami she doesn't want her making the Sami mistakes she made. Too late. Julie says she she had guidance from her family, Alice and the right man string of men, "I Hope you find that kind of love. I really do." Hugs. Still judging, though.

Arianna is at the pay phone. She calls Brady. She says she heard about his predicament. Brady swears he didn't use drugs.

Arianna asks, "How did you let this happen?"

Back to Nicky and Dickie. Baker says, "What's done is done." If people find out what we did you can kiss your sweet dream life with Brady goodbye."

So many self righteous Hortons/Bradys. What kills me is that they are going to make EJ look bad so it will all be I told you so, and you should have stayed with Rafe blah blah blah. Poor EJ. Everyone is going to go back to hating him again once they find out about the Sydnapping. Again always focused on WHAT he did that was bad and not the fact Sami was a big fat liar for keeping Sydney from him and having Rafe be Sydney's daddy. I don't want to watch any more of this dribble.....

....oh wait. I don't - Prevuze spares me and does it for me. Leslie - make sense of all this please!!!

I am so disappointed : i really hoped the talk between Julie and Sami would be about Will and David and NOT RAFE !
Julie doesn't even know Rafe STOP THIS WRITERS IT IS UNBEARABLE !
Sami should not say that Ej is kind she should say that Ej is a trouble man but she still love him !
STUPID WRITERS !
And Julie who she is kidding; Doug was a felon !

First of all, I lol'd as soon as I saw the title to this recap. And Bulldog's pics were equally histerical!

"Thinking," says Sami, "Now there's something I haven't tried." yep, that's me...I tend to get very defensive about the people I care about...I'm really sorry about the hurtful things I say when I feel trapped. It's easier for me to give than to take.

Julie reminds Sami "The last time you lived in that house of whores you and EJ wound up in bed together." So, is Julie calling Sami a whore now? Nice!!!

"I'm not judging you," insists Julie. She continues to judge, "EJ is a troubled man." I know that far too well...that's why it's so important to "fix" things, NOT to get back together.

She seems anxious as she asks about the arraignment. LOL!!! Prevuze is absolutely, completely, truly, and irreverently fabulous!!!

"Let me do most of the talking."

"You're a woman," says Charles, "What other choice do I have?"

Prevuze is penalized 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct. Sounds like something straight out of the Guy Manual.

"And now she will pay for it dearly." Stefano uses adverbs, too.

"Alice has been the rock of the family."

"I thought you said that was Lucas," says Doug.

"No," says Julie, "I said Lucas is the one in the family who has the IQ of a rock."

Compared to Lucas, the Rock of Gibraltar is a mere pebble.

"I don't think God has anything to do with this," says Kate, "We are on our own."

I’m guessing that God is happy about that.

She says she has bonds for him in her safe deposit box.

OMG! Who will get to the safety deposit box first – Kate or Maddie?!!!! Oh the drama!! Oh the angst!! Oh the hackneyed script!!!

“I'm blaming his girlfriend — The once and future prison whore."

Whoever writes Victor’s dialogue deserves mucho kudos!!

“He is an amazing father, not to mention he's the hottest thing since the Salem U homecoming bonfire."

That’s for sure!!

Berg – in Salem, hypocrisy and inconsistency reigns, so we all get wet. The writing is plot driven so the characters’ personalities have to be massaged and reworked to fit the storylines. Since it’s much harder to frame a plot around a particular personality, everyone in Salem seems to be stricken with bi-polar disease. When watching DOOL, a neck brace is essential.

Burma-Shave!! LOL!!!! Happy hump day everyone!

Hmmmm....Prevuze, if you remember seeing those Burma Shave signs along the highway, I'm going to have to put you in my age group.

Another day, another Rafe pimping, another reminder that EJ is BAD. Tune in tomorrow (or not)for more of the same.

I'm so glad that they brought all the vets back so that they could take part in the Rafe pimping, too. Has any character on any soap ever been pimped as many times by as many characters as St. Rafe?

Leslie, thank you for an excellent LA recap. Your pictures were great!

Y'know, I read Prevuze and the Comments every day, and even thought I don't comment all that often, I get a kick out of this blog and I rely on you all to make my day a bit brighter, especially since I usually start the morning off reading the news, which has gone from "depressing" to "despair". Anyway, after digesting all of the blog posts since the Corday interview, this is my big contribution:

I don't believe for one second that all of this Rafe-pimping is because Corday's WIFE is a Rafe fan, if you catch my drift, nudge wink say no more.

Bulldog - I thought the same damn thing...Alice is on her death bed and folks show up to chit chat over a cuppa?? Come on!

And, HELLO Mr. Frump. So relieved to see you are as vigilant as ever. LOL

Also almost had a spit-take at Lexie joins them. Brady screams, "No! I'm too young to die!"

My rant for today has to do with Arianna's arraignment. For pete's sake, it's taking longer to get the arraignment than most trials last on this show. Judges usually whip through a dozen arraignments before lunch.

Unfortunately, by the second red "sign" I knew what was coming. Golden Years my sagging fanny. HAHAHA Thanks (sorta) for the reminder, Prevuze.

Alice is dying. We must pimp Rafe.

I'm shocked the writers haven't found a way for Alice's dying words to be "choose Rafe, Sami, Choose Rafe.

I hate Corday.

Doug joins Julie in the kitchen. Julie cries, "Alice has been the rock of the family."
So much so, that they haven't spoken about her at all for the last 3 months.

"Someone must've knocked me out and put that stuff in my system. You believe me, right?"
HAHAHA! That sounds positively ludicrous. I don't know who would believe that.

Will objects and tells her to do whatever she will do, "You always do anyway."
Clever boy, pointing out that his mother possesses free will.

"I don't want him associating with the wrong people."
Because, somehow, the DiMera's sprang up overnight. It must have been quite a shock for Madeleine to find the DiMera's in Salem with their huge mansion looming over the town. Oh look, the sky is blue.

Victor says, "But I'm not blaming Brady. I'm blaming his girlfriend — The once and future prison whore."
Oh, Victor has problems with another woman. I, for one, am shocked!!

I moved out, but there is no escaping her."
It's called moving away, genius.

"He seems to have mellowed," says Will, "He seems like a pretty cool guy."
Wat!? And Will wins the award for the most delusional thing said. Possibly ever. And what's annoying is that when Sami says this about EJ (which is more reasonable, imo.) it will be treated as ridiculous.

~I'm quite used to Brady/Horton hypocrisy. Bo and Roman roughing up EJ at the pier; A-OK. EJ suing for custody of his chlidren; OMG! THAT MAN IS THE DEVIL!

Julie doesn't even know Rafe STOP THIS WRITERS IT IS UNBEARABLE !
Lol'd!!

I'm shocked the writers haven't found a way for Alice's dying words to be "choose Rafe, Sami, Choose Rafe.
I'm sure it will come in the form of a note. Or perhaps Celeste will return and deliver a prophecy or maybe even Bo will deliver one. Have faith!

Betyar - I must clarify that I only do the pictures once in awhile (usually one)labeled with my name. Prevuze (or other contributors) must get the credit for all of the rest. Sometimes I go days without being able to think of one so I'm always astounded Prevuze can come up with so many great ones every day.

"You're a woman," says Charles, "What other choice do I have?" Prevuze is more than penalized 15 yards for that one. More like ejected from the game and suspended for the next three.

Well....I sorta remember the Burma Shave craze, does that mean I'm only semi-golden? Loved those - can we please have some more from time to time?

LOL over the image of the tomato hitting Julie in the forehead and "There's not much she can say about it until she gets her GED".
