The Morals Police

Stephaneasy comes into the pub and finds Kayla. Big hugs.

Melissa joins Maggie at Alice's house. Mags tells her Hope and Jennifer are up with Alice right now. Things are getting worse with Alice. Tears.

Baker asks Nicole what else he was supposed to do. Nicole says Brady is an addict and Baker could have destroyed his life. Doc Bake gets sarcastic, "Forgive me for thinking about my life. Don't forget... if I get caught, you get caught."

Nicole whines about seeing Brady in his condition, "My God I almost told him the truth."

Baker asks, "What stopped you?"

"A day without breaking at least one of the Ten Commandments is like a day without sunshine."

Arianna is on the phone. She tells Brady she wants to know if he did drugs. Brady screams, "I didn't slip! OMG, you don't believe me do you?"

Melanie arrives at Maggie's place and finds Daniel in the kitchen. He tells her his wedding is on hold, "You're happy about that aren't you?"

Melanie gasps, "NO! Yeah... a little." Translation: a lot.

Father Matt comes in to see Chloe. He says he got a message from Daniel, "You lied to him again. You said I couldn't marry you two because of some technicality with the annulment."

Chloe fires up the whinerator, "Father, I am sorry. I tried to tell him the truth."

Father Matt lectures, "You are piling one sin on top of another. I will not be part of this."

Chloe asks, "You're not going to tell Daniel I slept with Phillip, are you?"

Father Matt says, "Oh, no, my child. We haven't drug that out nearly long enough yet."

A guard comes up and tells Arianna time is up. She hangs up. Brady stares. The guard escorts Arianna back to her cell...

SLAM!

Arianna stares, too.

Nicole says she couldn't tell Brady the truth because she loves him so much. Baker isn't supportive. Nicole blows up, "If you hurt Brady like this one more time I will want your head on a platter."

Melissa and Maggie talk about Alice. Melissa flashes back to Alice telling her she will find happiness. She goes up to hold Alice's hand and tell her she was wrong.

Stephanie and Kayla sit at a table and Kayla makes lame excuses why Patch and Joey couldn't come. Stephanie brings up Nathan, "He's going through a lot right now what with Alice's condition and all, and I want to (say it with her) be there for him. When he's happy it makes me happy. We've had a few problems and worked through them. One in particular... I did something really stupid."

To quote that great philosopher Forest Gump, "Stupid is as stupid does."

Brady dresses. Nathan comes in and asks what he is doing. Brady says he's leaving the hospital. Nathan cautions him to rehydrate after using drugs and alcohol. Brady insists he didn't do that, "There is only one person who needs to know what happened. And I'm going to see her."

Melanie tells Daniel she's sorta OK with the wedding, but feels like Chloe will break his heart. Daniel says, "I want you to know... Chloe and I... we're solid. That's because our heads are filled with concrete. The wedding was postponed because of a problem with the annulment."

Father Matt says he would never reveal anything he heard in confession unless the donation he got in return for the information was big enough. He tells Chloe he has to go to Chicago for a couple weeks and meet with the Bishop, "You have to face the facts." Chloe says she can't find the courage to tell Daniel. Father Matt tells her she has no choice.

Stephanie says she got insecure and started pushing Nathan too hard. Then she realized love has to happen the right way, "No pushing... no traps. Things got a little weird there for a while. I was worried Melanie would screw up my life." Nathan comes in and we have yet another big reunion.

Melissa comes downstairs and tells Maggie Alice was awake and smiled at her. Melissa says she's glad she'll be able to spend time with Nathan, and Stephanie too, but thinks Melanie was trouble.

Daniel says he's there to see Maggie. Melanie tells him she's at the Horton's. She also tells him the last time she saw Nathan, things didn't go well. "Seeing you has that effect," says Daniel, "Nathan is at the pub, so this might be a good time to stop by and check on Maggie." Melanie wonders if he planned that. Daniel did. Melanie thinks he's great for doing something like that for her.

"You are my daughter," says Daniel.

"And you are my dad."

Gee, they figured that out all by themselves.

Nicole is at the hospital and hears a nurse say they have to redo the x-rays on Chloe, "The first ones weren't clear enough. Chloe has the fuzziest brain we've ever seen."

Father Matt insists he won't tell Chloe's deep, dark secret, "I won't have a phone at the retreat, but you'll be in my prayers." He leaves. Chloe turns over and sleeps. Nicole comes up and puts a hand on her shoulder.

Arianna sits and broods as Brady comes up to her cell.

Kayla tells Nathan he's building a strong reputation at the hospital, "For some strange reason, though, no one wants you to do any more appendectomies, especially with Melanie assisting." Nathan leaves to get coffee. Kayla tells Stephanie she likes Nathan and gives him the Brady family seal of approval. I'm sure he'll hang that next to his medical diploma.

Maggie comes into the living room and finds Melanie and Daniel. She gives the Alice update and sends Melanie to finish making lemonade. Melanie leaves. Maggie tells Daniel she got his message. Daniel says he has news about her illness, "Alice may outlive you."

Arianna tells Brady he should be in the hospital, "I'm really worried about you. You were clean for so long."

Brady yells, "I didn't do it! Why won't you believe me?"

"Because," says Arianna, "that would show I love and support you and we would get together and have a good relationship and the writers couldn't string the viewers along with the possibility that Nicole will grab you away from me."

Nicole asks about the elevator crash, "It must have been terrifying to be in an elevator without having sex. Chloe wonders why Nicole is there if she didn't know what happened. Nicole tells her about Brady's "relapse." Chloe wonders why he would do that to himself.

"He took a long look at the women he's had in his life," says Nicole, "But Brady insists he didn't do it and I believe him."

Daniel tells Maggie her medication switch worked, "Your Myasthenia Gravis is in remission again."

Maggie hugs him and says this is the best news she's received today. Now she can stay and take care of Alice, "I want to (say it with her) be there for her like she was for me."

Melissa has shown up at the pub. Nathan hugs her and says she has a surprise. He points out Kayla and we have a pub hugfest.

Melanie brings the lemonade and finds Daniel gone. Maggie tells her about the remission. Melanie does a happy dance and high-five's it all around the room. She picks up the phone to call and tell people, but Maggie says right now is about Alice. Melanie apologizes for being happy. "Don't ever let it happen again," says Maggie.

"I can't stay," says Melanie, "I'm like poison in this house."

Nicole says, "I can't put my finger on it, but Brady is positive someone did this to him. It's not a slip."

Chloe says she hopes it wasn't, "Arianna is the worst thing that could have happened to him except for you and me. Maybe if she goes to prison Brady will turn to you and one of us will be happy."

Brady goes into a rage, "I didn't do it. I-DID-NOT-DO-IT! I don't know who did or how they did it but I didn't do it." Arianna argues and tells him he has to admit what happened. Things get really loud and Brady says this isn't about a little doubt, but it's about Arianna not believing him at all, "This sounds like an ending to me."

The crowd at the pub talks about Alice and how she was always (say it with her) there for the ones she loved.

Melanie says she thinks she doesn't fit into the Horton picture, "I don't even have my own Christmas tree bulb."

"Don't feel judged," says Maggie, "It takes years to earn a Horton Christmas tree bulb. You lift my spirits just by being you. When I see how you are, I realize how low other people could sink."

Brady says maybe this is a good thing, "I'm going to continue to help you because I believe in you and love you, but I need to rethink our future because obviously you have." He leaves.

Chloe says she thinks she'll never be able to marry Daniel. She tells Nicole about thinking Daniel and Carly were doing the nasty, "I was really upset and had too much wine..."

Nicole gasps, "OMG! You slept with someone!"

"Yes," whines Chloe, "But it was only one time."

"Oh, that makes it all right, then," says Nicole.

Chloe turns on the whining afterburners, "When Daniel finds out..."

Nicole interrupts, "Why does Daniel have to find out?"

"Carly says she will tell."

Nicole blows her stack, "Who the hell does she think she is, the morals police? You have to do an end run on that little bitch."

"How," asks Chloe, "How can I do an end run when I don't know which end is up?"

Daniel comes into the hospital and heads straight for Chloe's room. A nurse stops him and tells him he's needed in the OR."

Nicole encourages Chloe, "Tell Daniel you changed your mind and marry him ASAP. Carly only has control as long as you are not married, but once you are, she'll back down. Daniel is not EJ. He will not abandon you." Nicole says she will handle Carly and leaves.

Laughter and joy abounds at the pub. Nathan says he has a surprise for Stephanie. He says he forgot it and has to go get it. First, however some face munching.

Arianna whines, "This is stupid." She must be watching this episode the TV in her cell. She calls for the guard.

Brady arrives at the Kiriakis mansion and remembers Arianna telling him she loves him for the first time. He says he loves her too. He pops out of the flashback, scowls and goes into the den.

Nicole returns to Chloe's room and tells her Carly is in surgery and won't be out for hours, "You are home free." She says she has to go find Brady and wishes Chloe good luck. Chloe zones out. She says Father Matt won't marry them.

"That's why God made JPs and hospital chaplains," says Nicole, "This is your only chance."

Melanie and Maggie hug and part. Melanie runs into Nathan on the way out.

Arianna tells the guard she needs to make a call. He tells her she's run out of calls for today. Arianna bawls.

Nicole shows up at the Kiriakis mansion. Brady thanks her for believing in him. "I always have and always will," says no-agenda Nicole. Brady tells her he went to see Arianna, and doesn't want to get into it. "She didn't believe you," says oh-so-sympathetic Nicole, "Oh, Brady, I am so sorry." Hugs.

Daniel comes in to see Chloe. She tells him she's rethought the Father Matt thing and they can get a JP to marry them. Daniel wonders why she's changed her mind.

"Small things can change quickly," says Chloe, "I wasn't thinking clearly. Maybe it was the pain meds."

"You had a head injury," says Daniel, "You're not allowed pain medication. Tell me what it is. This time I want the truth."

"My God I almost told him the truth."

Baker asks, "What stopped you?"

"A day without breaking at least one of the Ten Commandments is like a day without sunshine."

All of Nicole’s days are bright and sunshiny.

Father Matt says, "Oh, no, my child. We haven't drug that out nearly long enough yet."

You think?!

"If you hurt Brady like this one more time I will want your head on a platter."

John the Baptist has nothing on Dr. Baker. Caravaggio would have had a field day with this one.

Daniel says, "I want you to know... Chloe and I... we're solid. That's because our heads are filled with concrete.

For sure, for sure!! LOL!!!!

He tells Chloe has to go to Chicago for a couple weeks and meet with the Bishop.

Father Matt is a tad hierarchy challenged. George was elevated to Cardinal years ago.

“Why won't you believe me?"

"Because," says Arianna, "that would show I love and support you and we would get together and have a good relationship and the writers couldn't string the viewers along with the possibility that Nicole will grab you away from me."

It also means the writers couldn’t fill episodes with more of this worthless drivel.

Nicole asks about the elevator crash, "It must have been terrifying to be in an elevator without having sex."

Nicole and Chloe bonding over elevator sex – excellent!

“Tell me what it is. This time I want the truth."

…and the worthless drivel continues. Sigh. This episode sounds like a real clunker. Thanks for taking one for the team Prevuze!

Isn't it "Morality Police"?

Isn't it "Morality Police"?

I think either would fit, but if I had said it on my own I would more likely have used "Morality Police." However, it is a tried and true Prevuze tradition to use the character's own words in the title. In this case Nicole said, "morals police," so I ran with it because...

Prevuze - I don't make things up, I just report them. Well, sometimes I make them up.®

"You are my daughter," says Daniel. "And you are my dad." And we are bored.

I thought with all of the returning characters they would skip the Chloedan crap and have some better flashbacks and conversations with the folks who aren't going to be on there that long. Silly me.

Ah yes, the Horton Christmas bulbs. Remember the tragic foreshadowing of Chloe's bulb shattering to smithereens? Can we haul out the tree and drop a couple more please?

And I actually find myself agreeing with Nicole. Get a JP in there and just get the ceremony over with already!

Loved the Victor picture and "For some strange reason, though, no one wants you to do any more appendectomies, especially with Melanie assisting." HAHAHAHA

Thanks for taking another one for the team with this snoozefest, Prevuze. Happy almost TGIF everyone. :D

Here's my rhetorical question for today: Couldn't Nicole rake Baker over the coals via telephone? Every time she gets together with him in a public place is just one more time EJ (or someone) is going to see them. TLT

Chloe and I... we're solid. That's because our heads are filled with concrete. BWAHAHAHAHA

Father Matt is off on a retreat for two weeks and won’t have a phone. How conveeeeenient. Here’s what Chloe should do: Drop it while she's in the hospital where Carly and/or Melanie are constantly monitoring every more. When she gets out of the hospital, grab Daniel. Go off somewhere no one knows where they are. Then suggest they find a JoP and get married!

But will she? Probably not. Even if she decides to go ahead and get married without Father Matt (in or out of the hospital) I can see Daniel insisting his daughter be there who will just happen to mention it to her mommy and then let the stare-downs begin yet again.

Remember the tragic foreshadowing of Chloe's bulb shattering to smithereens? Can we haul out the tree and drop a couple more please?

ROFLMAO – Since you asked so nicely Bulldog, maybe TPTB will oblige. By the way, loved the pic with Mom Hernandez.

Except for zapping through to see former characters, I won't be watching much of this episode. Thanks Prevuze.

LOL over Victor's "It's great to be married. Now I can have a mistress again." Atta boy Victor...there must be SOME benefit to being married! The man cracks me up!!!

So, let's see...Stephaneasy thinks she's making Nathan happy by springing an unplanned pregnancy on him? How thoughtful of her! And then she goes on with "I was worried Melanie would screw up my life." AHHHH...NO!!! You're managing just fine on your own...

If Carly is the "morals police" Nicole and Chloe must be the "NO-morals police"!

"Daniel is not EJ. He will not abandon you." Daniel was not trapped into a loveless marriage Nicole...BIG difference there! Daniel could chose to forgive Chloe, if he feels she made a mistake. Word of advice to Daniel: if your fiancee is asking for "absolution" before the wedding ceremony...BIG RED FLAG!!!

"Arianna whines, 'This is stupid.' She must be watching this episode on the TV in her cell."...lol Prevuze...you get 15 yards penalty for that one!!! But you might just get a pass this time, since you've taken the pain to watch this drivel for us!

Loved the Simpsons reference!

Question: does "the x-rays are fuzzy" translate to "Chloe is pregnant"? (Fingers crossed it doesn't...)

Oh, Nicole, Dan might abandon Chloe if she fakes a pregnancy and kidnaps someone else's kid to pass it off as his. Just sayin'.

This looks like a very, very boring show and not worth the ten minutes to zap thru it.

Thanks for taking the hit.
