CHECKMATE!

Bo is with Carly at the pub wondering why Kimberly would keep this a secret. Carly rationalizes, "It's good news. You're a match for her. This could have a happy ending."

Bo growls, "Not if Miss Alamain puts you on the hit list."

Hope comes into the hospital asking for a victim who was brought in last night. Daniel goes to look. Lexie asks Hope to dinner. Hope agrees as they wheel in the aforementioned victim — DA Woods.

Hope asks Woods if he recognizes her and he says he does. "Do you know who did this," asks officer Brady.

"Yes," says Woods, "Exactly."

Gabi and Rafe are at the Java Café. She lectures him for standing her up last night, "Where were you." Rafe is silent. It's what he does best.

Sami comes out into her living room in a robe. EJ has breakfast ready. He senses something is wrong. With Sami, it would be unusual to find something right. "When your teenage son moves out," says Sami, "It ruins your soccer-mom image."

"Since you've never been to a soccer game in your life, that also ruins your soccer-mom image," says EJ. He remains optimistic that her son will come around and things will get better. Tra-la, tra-la. Sami says she likes his optimism as he gets a call. Stefano asks him to come to the house.

Hope asks, "Can you give me a name?"

Charles says, "Rafe Hernandez."

Hope asks, "That's who did this?"

Charles says, "No, I just thought you wanted a name."

Rafe apologizes for standing her up and pays for the movie ticket she got stuck with, "What movie did you see?"

"I saw the remake of "Cruise of Deception" in 3-D," says Gabi.

"How was it," asks Rafe.

"The 3-D effects were great," says Gabi, "You could reach out and touch the boredom."

Rafe is vague about what he was doing the night before, "I'm not in the best mood."

"I think it's amazing you're having any emotion at all," says Gabi, "But I know why. I know what happened last night, Rafe. There is only one reason you would be this way — Sami Brady."

EJ tells Stefano to make it quick. Stefano says he's decided to settle, "That is what you want, isn't it?"

"So," asks EJ, "You're ready to move out?"

"After our little talk, yes," says Stefano, "Will you come?"

"I will be there shortly," He hangs up

Sami asks, "What was that all about?"

EJ is stunned, "I won. I actually won."

Back in the DiMera rumpus room, Kate asks if Stefano is really going to let EJ win. "As you must know by now," says Stefano, "things are rarely what they seem."

Carly tells Bo she should be his last consideration right now, "Even if you're gone Vivian knows you will still come after her if she tries anything." Bo tells Carly he thinks about her all the time, mostly how much he loves her.

Hope is in the hospital room with the DA. She asks Woods about his attack. "I heard him and I'll never forget that voice," says Charles, "Rafe Hernandez. He came after me earlier and he went ballistic. Ask the witnesses."

Abe is with Lexie. He says he's going to have to be visible on the Woods case. Hope comes out and asks about the altercation between Rafe and Woods. Abe confirms it, "Rafe's mind just snapped."

"Small twigs are easier to snap," says Hope.

Rafe gets a call. Hope asks him to meet him at the station.

Sami wonders if Stefano is really giving up. She thinks that's not Stefano's style, but she says she likes the new and improved EJ, "I don't want you to go back to that house."

Kate spirals into an abyss of metaphors, "My husband the eagle is letting his son the peacock win. Where are we going to live? Now Will is living with us too. What about him?" Stefano assures her they will be living right there in the DiMera mansion. "So," asks Kate, "What seems isn't what is?"

"Or will be," says Stefano, "EJ will get exactly what he deserves."

Will comes into the Java Café and Gabi goes for a latte. Rafe fires up some small talk, "Do you have any crazy plans to go anywhere for spring break?"

"If I want crazy, I'll stay in Salem," says Will, "And actually, I'll spend my time moving." He halfway fills Rafe in on the fight he had with Sami, "It was about lies, EJ and you." Rafe heads for the station and Gabi brings back coffee. Will asks, "Have you talked to Chad about his dad?"

In that kind of serendipitous moment you only get on DOOL, Chad walks up, "What about my dad? Let me guess, he had a press conference right?"

"No," says Will, "He got beat up and is in the hospital." Chad bolts.

Sami is worried that EJ will get sucked back into the DiMera lifestyle. EJ thinks it's different this time. "Well," says Sami, "You did it. You finally got rid of him. I'm proud of you."

Stefano stares, "Nothing is over until the end game is played, and your end game is coming Elvis, ready or not."

Chad comes in to see his dad, "You're all right, aren't you?"

The DA's wife Madeline follows Chad, "Of course he is. He's too mean to die." She hugs Chad.

Bo sits in the Kiriakis mansion den with Ciara on his lap. He tells her he's headed to LA because Aunt Kimberly isn't feeling so well. Ciara says she will miss Bo and so will Mommy, "Mommy loves you and you love her right?"

"Do I love Mommy, exclaims Bo, "Does a bear poop in a marble walled toilet? Is the Pope Baptist?"

Victor watches as Bo gets up and tells Ciara to be good while he is gone, "I'll talk to you tomorrow on the computer."

"I remember the last time I saw you on the computer," says Ciara, "You were wrestling with Miss Carly on the couch."

As Bo leaves, Victor gets in a parting shot, "Out of the mouths of babes."

Bo turns, flashes his teeth and snarles, "Tell that lovely fiancée of yours to stay away from Carly or you know what will happen." Bo struts out. Outside, he calls and leaves a message for Hope.

Rafe comes into the inquisition room to see Hope. She asks where he was last night.

Sami stands in her living room acting domestic and folding clothes. Will comes in... with Kate. He says he's there to pick up his stuff.

EJ comes into the DiMera rumpus room with papers ready for Stefano to sign. Stefano asks him to sit at the chessboard and help him finish his game, but EJ says he's not in the mood for games. "You're right," says Stefano, "The games must end, now."

Carly finds Daniel at the dock and hands him an envelope with a medical article in it, "It's about non-invasive treatment plans for diplopia."

"What the hell is diplopia," asks Daniel.

"You're a doctor," says Carly, "Shouldn't you know that?"

"I just work miracles," says Daniel, "I don't know anything about medicine."

Bo comes up and tells Daniel about Kimberly's leukemia. He says he's going out to donate bone marrow and asks Daniel if it's OK for him to do that, since he's had the pancreas transplant.

"I just work miracles," says Daniel, "I don't know anything about medicine." Bo senses something is wrong. Daniel says it worries him Bo won't be there to protect Carly.

"Carly," asks Bo, "Carly Manning? The one you can't stand because she lied to you?"

"That's the one," says Daniel.

Madeline asks Charles about his mugging. Charles insists it was Rafe. Chad chimes in, "No way could it have been him. I know his sister."

DA Woods is disgusted, "Of course. You and your taste in women. First the blonde bimbo and now her."

Madeline defends Chad, and they all agree Rafe won't get away with this.

Hope tells Rafe about the attack on DA Woods, and that Woods is claiming it was Rafe.

Kate leaves so Sami and Will can talk. Will says there is nothing to talk about. Sami whines, "I'm your mom. You're my kid."

"With the ability to figure things out like that," says Will, "I'm surprised you couldn't get that job you wanted at the FBI."

Stefano talks about Sydney. EJ is distant and continues to go through papers. Stefano rambles, "Duplicity, mendacity... they are terrible evils. Of course I was not the only one who lied. You were going at it with a vengeance."

Bo says Victor will keep Vivian in her cage. He suggests taking Carly with him. Daniel says that can't happen, "For one thing, she has a job here in Salem."

"Who in Salem ever goes to work," asks Bo. Daniel doesn't want Vivian thinking she drove Carly away. He suggests Carly stay with him and Chloe. Carly asks if she has a say in that. Daniel says it's important for her and Melanie. He leaves.

"I don't need a babysitter," says Carly. Bo agrees with Daniel and asks her to do it for him.

Carly protests, "It doesn't make any sense..." Bo shuts her up with a kiss.

Hope wants an alibi. Rafe wouldn't mind having one himself, "I don't have an alibi."

Chad and Madeline have moved out into the waiting area. Chad tells Mommy he doesn't like being insulted. He wonders why his dad does that. "He doesn't want you involved with people who aren't worthy of you," says Madeline, "All we want is for you to be happy. If you care for someone I'll respect that. Tell me about Rafe's sister." Chad says she goes to Salem high and isn't anything more than a friend. Mommy asks about drugs. Chad says he's off them and doing well. Hugs ensue. Mommy says she loves him and will always do what's right for him. Chad says he knows that.

EJ insists he hasn't lied. "Of course you have," bellows Stefano, "You lied to me, to yourself... about all kinds of things."

EJ the papers down, "Sign."

Stefano ignores him, "Of course no one knew Anna would swoop in and get in everyone's way. I underestimated her and so did you. Maybe... maybe not. Maybe you were not fooled by Anna at all."

Back in DA's hospital room, Abe tells Charles the commissioner will be out of town. "Justice will be served," says Charles.

"Rafe Hernandez is going down," says Madeline.

Rafe tells Hope he has no alibi, "But I will tell you this, if it had been me, Woods wouldn't be alive. That corrupt SOB let one of Sydney's kidnappers go."

Sami asks Will to stay. He phone rings and she sees it's Abe, "He wouldn't call unless it's important." Sami answers and has to go into the other room to get reception, and tells Will to stay put.

Standing alone in the living room, Will sees the used dishes, "Breakfast with EJ. Fantastic. Same-o same-o. He bolts. Outside he finds Kate and tells her he can't live there. They leave.

Stefano beats around the bush about Anna. EJ asks him again to sign. Stefano keeps on pontificating about the kidnapping and everything that happened, "I have suffered many things but nothing worse than the day they found Sydney's bloody dress. What kind of monster could trick people into believing that she was dead?"

EJ is adamant, "Sign. Please."

Stefano asks him to help finish the chess game. EJ refuses. "One last time," says Stefano, "before it all comes to an end."

EJ sits at the chessboard with him and takes a pawn with his knight, "CHECK."

Stefano takes EJ's knight with his rook, "CHECKMATE!"

Bo and Carly come up for air. Bo gotta go. Carly tells him not to worry about her too much, "Walk me to my car?"

"I'll follow you anywhere," says the lost puppy.

Hope talks about the case that's being built against Rafe. "I didn't know this was a case," says Rafe, "I thought it was just an accusation."

"Yeah," agrees Hope, "By the DA."

Abe tells Sami about Rafe being called in for questioning, "It doesn't look good."

"What," asks Stefano, "Nothing to say? You lost."

EJ sweeps his arm across the table and the chess pieces go flying across the room, "I thought you were a man of your word!"

"Why should I sign," asks Stefano, "I don't have to because you have lost more than a game."

"This is not over," growls EJ.

"You're right," says Stefano, "Because... you SOB... I know! You took Sydney! I know all about it, Elvis. You had her all along!"

The blood drains from EJ's pretty-boy face.

Oh no! It has been almost two years since I watched a show...and I may have to now because I love Stefano. Finally, some action.

Rafe about to be arrested also sounds good to me BUT we all know he will get out of it somehow.

Poor poor EJ. Daddy caught you red handed. EJ just never seems to catch a break when he is trying to do the right thing. Tsk, tsk.

I laugh.

Sami keeping Sydney from Stefano is touted as heroinish.

EJ doing the same thing bad, bad, bad.

Why can't Ej and Sami accept to be themselves : not good not bad just interesting, complex, grey characters.
Stupid writers !

DAYS recycling team strikes again. Back in 1993 Lawrence Alamain hired Bo´s lookalike and paid him to attack and beat up some thug to a bloody pulp so Carly believes Bo is violent and leaves him for Lawrence. Now it looks like someone (EJ) decided to use that old trick again.

Btw. is this a possible beginning for Hope and Rafe? If so, me like it. I know some people like Justin but he has charisma of an used car salesmen or an insurance agent. No wonder Hope has no interest in him.

Today I decided to get to Prevuze before the work gremlins got hold of me. Glad I did. The thought of a suitcase full of shirtless EJ videos is enough to keep me going all day. LOL

My first thought about Bo leaving Carly alone in Salem was the same as Bo's, Bo suggests he take Carly with him. I knew there would be an objection, Daniel says that can't happen, "For one thing, she has a job here in Salem. And then LMAO when I saw Bo (and Prevuze) had come up with the same rejoiner I had, "Who in Salem ever goes to work?"

I wouldn't want to be in the same building as Chloe when Daniel informs her he's asked Carly to stay with them. No building ever constructed could withstand the resulting explosion. LOLOL

I probably missed something, but how did Will know about the DA being taken to the hospital when Wood's own kid hadn't heard about it yet?

OK, enough fun and frivolity. Thanks Prevuze!

"When your teenage son moves out," says Sami, "It ruins your soccer-mom image."

"Since you've never been to a soccer game in your life, that also ruins your soccer-mom image," says EJ.

I must admit I find it hard to believe that Sami’s car sports one of those yellow “Soccer Mom” magnet signs. If Will does play soccer, will Kate drive him to practice or does Stefano give him the keys to the Lamborghini so he can drive himself? Is Kate going to add Pop Tarts, Twinkies, and Doritos to the shopping list? Did Kate stand in line all night to get an I-Pad for her grandson? The whole concept of a teenager in the DiMera household is pretty amusing.

"I'm not in the best mood."

"I think it's amazing you're having any emotion at all," says Gabi.

We’re all amazed.

Chad walks up, "What about my dad? Let me guess, he had a press conference right?"

"No," says Will, "He got beat up and is in the hospital." Chad bolts.

Why didn’t a family member text Chad about his father? Duh!!!

"Do I love Mommy, exclaims Bo, "Does a bear poop in a marble walled toilet? Is the Pope Baptist?"

LOL!!!

He suggests Carly stay with him and Chloe.

Chloe should really be excited about Carly camping out on the couch. I bet she’s so pleased that she starts spending a lot more time with her buddy Phillip. Phillip is already used to whine-a-thons. Chloe’s will just be at a higher octave than Melanie's.

Hope wants an alibi. Rafe wouldn't mind having one himself, "I don't have an alibi."

Since he has an 18 minute gap in his life, the Rafester is once again the International Man of Mystery. If he’s on some sort of secret FBI mission, Rafe could have texted Gabi to let her know he couldn’t meet her. The message could have gone something like this – puking my guts out, can’t make it. Gabi would have had an alibi for her brother. Sounds pretty easy to me.

Stefano takes EJ's knight with his rook, "CHECKMATE!"

Oh the subtle foreshadowing!

Sami/Will and Stefano/EJ – Neither parent has any control of their child! I must admit I’m looking forward to Stefano and EJ going toe to toe because that should be pretty entertaining.

Anonym so for you Justin has the charisma of an used car salesmen or an insurance agent but Rafe is...what ?!
Rafe is a pretty guy (not really original : like most of the soap actors) but above all he has to be the dullest character i have seen in a long time on Dool (yes i even prefer the cute/goofiness and hilarious bad acting of Austin/Austin Peck and that's saying something lol).
He sucks the life out of every characters who has to share a scene with him except when he has short scenes as a big brother to his sisters (but the scenes have to be short short otherwise zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz)
So even if Hope and Justin have NO romantic chemistry, i chose Justin over Rafe any day !
My Hope (although sometimes judgmental and whiny) deserves better than mister Dull, boring Rafe Hernandez !
Voilà it has to be said !

Standing alone in the living room, Will sees the used dishes, "Breakfast with EJ. Fantastic." How does he know? Maybe it was Johnny or Allie's. Sami doesn't seem to ever be doing housekeeping, maybe it's from the day before.

Why doesn't Victor just tell Bo and Carly about the deal with Vivian? That if they get married Viv will leave Carly alone. Oh wait - if everyone else knew then we couldn't have Bo and Daniel taking care of the poor fragile thing.

Let's all offer our own theory on how Rafe will be cleared. I think eventually, after he's been convicted of the assault and many months of him proclaiming his innocence in the re-used Statesville scenery (they gotta get some more use from it), someone will finally wander over to the collage Kinzie is putting together at the pub and see a picture of him drowning his sorrows in his beer. With time and date stamp on it, of course, thus providing his alibi. Why wouldn't he just say he was at the pub and give himself the alibi? This is Daze. That would be too logical.

LOL over "Small twigs are easier to snap" and "With the ability to figure things out like that," says Will, "I'm surprised you couldn't get that job you wanted at the FBI." BTW - what happened to Sami's big job search? Was that the only job vacancy in town?

Great Prevuze today. Have a nice Tuesday everyone. :D

He says he's going out to donate bone marrow and asks Daniel if it's OK for him to do that, since he's had the pancreas transplant.

Seems like a generic medical question. Is there some reason he couldn't ask Carly?

First the blonde bimbo and now her."

Has he even met Gabi? lol

"He doesn't want you involved with people who aren't worthy of you,"

Ah yes, so well raised and worthy that he had a bastard child as a teenager, conceived in the back of a car. Not that I'm judging.

"Breakfast with EJ. Fantastic. Same-o same-o. He bolts not being able to handle the duplicitous EJ and heads back to the mansion to live with his duplicitous and murderous step-grandpa.

"I didn't know this was a case," says Rafe, "I thought it was just an accusation."

Of course there is a case, as Rafe proved, one can open a 'case' whenever they feel like it.

Carly believes Bo is violent and leaves him for Lawrence. Now it looks like someone (EJ) decided to use that old trick again.

Well, if it works, it works. Can't fight success.

~Let's hope that EJ kidnaps Sydney and goes out of the country and then Rafe follows, and now we have our summer storyline.

I missed something.

I know Joe Isuzu is a blow-hard but when did we find out he's corrupt?

Well played Will. The best offense is a good defense. He's busted with letting everyone Sami said not to let around Sydney, around Sydney, so the easiest thing to do is make his mom feel like dirt so he can get his way. He's definitly Sami and Lucas' son and Kate's grandson.
