Carpe Diem

Stephanie thinks Max can't be serious about killing his father. Max says what Trent did is unforgivable, "He used her in the worst possible way. He made her watch DOOL and recap the episodes for some website." Max tells Chelsea and Stephanie about Claude, "He has liked her ever since she was a little girl."

"Reminds me of Daniel," says Chelsea.

Stephanie catches on, "That's disgusting. He pimped out his own daughter."

Max says, "Now maybe you understand why he deserves to die."

Morgan pimps out herself. After telling Phillip no a hundred times, they crawl all over each other. She comes up for air and wipes the lipstick off Phillip's face, "It's not your color."

"It's not my face, either," says Phillip. Morgan walks away. Phillip follows like a lost puppy. Morgan tells him she doesn't like PDA's. "Why don't we go somewhere more private," asks Phillip. Morgan can't believe he used that line on her. Phillip wonders, "Has that ever worked?"

"It's not the worst I ever heard," says Morgan. Phillip asks for a sample of a really bad line. Morgan thinks... "How about, 'Do your legs hurt? Because they've been running through my mind all night.' Of course, that's not as bad as the classic, 'CENSORED.'"

Phillip breathes a sigh of relief that she told him about that one right before he was about to use it on her.

Phillip asks, "Do you like the idea of us?" Morgan thinks she does and says she would like to give it another shot, provided Phillip doesn't push. Phillip agrees. Phillip pushes, "Since we're being up front and honest, how about if we go away together for a few days? We can take the corporate jet."

"That's sweet," says Morgan, "In fact I didn't know such a lecherous idea could be so sweet. But I have a lot going on. Like... working for your Mother."

Phillip's jaw drops so hard he nearly needs yet another face. Kate overhears as she walks by the table, "Excuse me?"

Marlena arrives at the mansion. John invites her in. She reluctantly comes inside. She reminds him he asked her to come over there because she forgot something. John gives her a hair tie he found and then gets to the point, "I don't think it's a good idea that you see Trent Robbins."

Prevuze

Phillip is happy about Morgan's new working relationship. Kate isn't. Kate thinks back and remembers giving Chris permission to make the decision. Phillip takes Kate aside. He tells her to stop interfering. She suggests if Phillip is so gung-ho about it, Morgan could intern for him at Titan. Phillip presses and gets Kate to agree to take Morgan. Back at the table, Kate asks if Morgan can start Monday. Phillip says he wants Morgan to start the following Monday, so they can go romp together. Morgan doesn't think it's a good idea.

Victor comes up to what is quickly becoming the busiest table in Salem. He growls at Phillip, "I don't want you going anywhere."

Trent sits with Nicole. He makes a point of saying he's never been introduced to Victor. Nicole sees through it, "You're not getting a dime. Leave me alone."

The girls want to leave this up to the police. Max compares the situation to Ford Decker. Chelsea says it's different because Melanie brought this on herself, "Besides, the sorority doesn't need a new water heater." Max thinks saying Melanie is at fault is out of line. Chelsea says, "Melanie put herself out there as a party girl – what did you expect?"

Of course Melanie picks that moment to walk in. She overhears and says, "She has a point. I'm just lucky Nick came when he did. I feel terrible and came to say goodbye." Max says he has changed his mind about letting her go. Melanie tells him not to make it harder than it is. She says she's going to go say goodbye to Nick, and leaves.

Stephanie comes up and clings to Max like wet plaster.

Marlena says she hasn't agreed to go out with Trent but she might. "Trent rubs me the wrong way," says John.

Marlena launches into a lecture, "Ever since you saw me with him you realized I wouldn't be in your life. And that makes you uneasy. I have been pursuing you for months and you liked it. Now that I've stopped you are no longer in control. Now I'm getting a life for myself." John doesn't like it. He says he knows Trent. Marlena thinks this is about John not wanting her to date.

Victor takes Phillip aside. Morgan and Kate get to share an uncomfortable moment together.

Outside, Victor says he wants to know what that was all about. He bawls Phillip out for wanting to take a break, "If you're not ready to handle a 24-7 commitment let me know right now."

"Morgan's high-maintenance," says Phillip, "but I don't think she's 24-7."

Morgan tries to talk about Hearth and Home. Kate stops her cold, "Why are you brownnosing me? You already have the job. GRAHOOMP-AGAAKK-HACK-HACK!"

Nick's nurse leaves as Melanie comes in to see him, "Hot nurse. If you get lucky maybe she'll give you a sponge bath." Melanie apologizes for getting him shot.

"That's OK," says Nick, "Maybe now I might get some respect on the street after taking a bullet."

Max packs. Stephanie wants Max to dump his silly notion of killing Trent, "Do you want to spend the rest of your life in prison?"

"Are you proposing to me," asks Max. They attack each other.

Trent says he did some research on Victor, "He's a veritable Donald Trump."

"Does that mean he can fire you," asks Nicole. Nicole says even though Victor's rich, she didn't get as much money as he thinks she did. Trent begs for her help. He tells her he's 20-grand in debt. He promises he will pay her back with interest. She lectures him for not quitting gambling since he knows he never wins. Trent insists he's learned his lesson.

Victor tells Phillip it's no time for a vacation. He reminds Phillip he used to play 36 holes of golf a day when he was a kid. Victor says Phillip has to immerse himself in Titan like he used to immerse himself in golf. Phillip wonders if it's possible to have it all. He says sometimes he still wishes Kate and Victor were together. Victor wonders why. Phillip says there are a couple of reasons. He tells him about Kate's cough.

"Is that what that was," says Victor, "I thought that was an earthquake." Victor says he will talk to her about her health issues and asks what the other reason is. "The other thing is personal," says Phillip, "Ask your godson."

"GRAHOOMP-AGAAKK-HACK-HACK!" Morgan suggests Kate have the cough checked out. Kate tells her she saw Kayla and she prescribed antibiotics, "They just haven't kicked in yet."

"That's because they're too busy kicking you in the chest instead."

Kate asks her not to say anything to Phillip about Kayla giving her a prescription. Morgan promises. Victor comes in, "Kate I need to talk to you, now."

Melanie inspects Nick's wound, "That's an angry looking gash, there. I think it's sexy."

Nick asks, "Are you always so forward?"

"Carpe diem," says Melanie, "Why beat around the bush?"

Nick tells her he's more cautious, "You know – Look before you leap. You do that after you've been with Chelsea." Melanie says she can't see him and Chelsea together.

"It is kind of a sickening visualization, isn't it," asks Nick.

"It's kind of like "Beauty and the Geek."

"Right," says Nick, "Without the beauty."

Melanie says she is glad Nick and Chelsea broke up.

"Not half as glad as I am," says Nick..

"Now that you're not together any more," says Melanie, "I can do this." She moves in and kisses him as Chelsea comes into the room and soaks it in.

John sets up the chessboard and says he just doesn't want Marlena to get hurt. She starts to leave. John asks, "So this is it, you're giving up on us."

"No," says Marlena, "I’m not giving up. I'm letting you go."

John asks, "What's the difference between giving up and letting me go?"

"This way," says Marlena, "We get to torture the audience and drag things out longer. If you don't like it, you should have thought about this before you destroyed the disc." John says he made a mistake but can't go back and fix it. Marlena finally gets down to brass tacks, "Was Ava was a mistake?" John can't believe Ava makes her feel so insecure. Marlena asks, "Did you sleep with her, John."

John consults the guy manual, "KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT."

Marlena repeats in a measured tone, "DID – YOU – SLEEP – WITH – HER? Even though you and I were still married?"

John reads on for further instructions, "You may take a vow of silence now, or later when you become a monk." John remains silent.

"There is my answer," says Marlena. She turns and leaves. John tosses the Guy Manual into the wastebasket.

Phillip tells Morgan Victor figured things out about Daniel and Kate. Phillip wants to know about guys she has gone out with. She makes up a water polo player, but then comes clean and tells him Max was the latest guy she dated. She says he left her to go back to Stephanie, "He wasn't the guy for me."

"GRAHOOMP-AGAAKK-HACK-HACK!" Victor lectures Kate, "What were you thinking? She's your granddaughter! How could you let this happen?"

"One thing led to another," says Kate. She tells Victor Chelsea is in France, "Max, Stephanie and Nick are there." Victor thinks Chelsea went there to get away from Daniel and Kate.

Chelsea watches Nick and Melanie smooch, and leaves. Melanie comes up for air, "You're cute and a good kisser. You're gonna make some girl happy someday." She turns to leave and says this is goodbye. She has some friends to go see in Timbuktu, "Carpe diem."

"I don't like any kind of fish," says Nick.

Chelsea walks in after Melanie leaves. They make small talk. Nick says Stephanie told him about Daniel, "On the grand scale of things, having your boyfriend slam your grandmother is worse than having your boyfriend romp with your mom, right?"

Chelsea has a private little pity-party, "I guess it's what I deserve for how I treated you."

Trent tells Nicole they aren't finished. He threatens to tell Victor. "Go ahead," yells Nicole, "rat me out – then I won't have any money to give you.

Trent says if it weren't for him she would still be on the streets. Nicole nukes and Trent goes over to see Victor, "Victor Kiriakis? I'm Trent Robbins. Can we have a word?"

Nicole comes up and grabs Trent. She tells Victor it's a bad time and hauls Trent off.

"What the hell was that all about," asks Victor.

Morgan asks if Phillip and Chloe are still dating. "We never were dating. We were... uh..."

Morgan helps out, "Just keeping each other company?"

Phillip tells her Chloe is now dating Lucas, "Chloe wasn't the woman for me."

"Does Lucas get all your hand-me-downs," asks Morgan.

Stephanie says she can't wait to get back home. She stops packing and steams up, "You're still going after Trent, aren't you? I can't let you do it."

Melanie walks in, "You should listen to her, Max."

John stops Marlena. He talks with his hands, "Did you or did you not encourage me to see other women? Marlena flashes back to telling John to play the field. Hoist on her own petard! John says he explored his options with Ava and it didn't work out. He wants to start over. Marlena says she's going to think of herself first for once and put distance between them. She's not trying to hurt him back but doesn't think they are good together any more. She walks off.

Trent sneers at Nicole, "Now you know I mean business."

"You wouldn't have told him," says Nicole, "You need me more than I need you."

"What do you want," asks Trent.

"For starters," says Nicole, "A divorce."

"But I need the money now," says Trent.

"TOUGH!" Nicole walks off.

Trent's phone rings. John stands there looking like The Borg with his bluetooth device sticking out of his ear, "This is John Black. We have some issues to discuss."

Chelsea rambles about Daniel, "Is there something wrong with me?"

Nick says, "This is only an hour-long show. But as far as I'm concerned, you're perfect." That bullet must've ricocheted from his shoulder into his brain. Chelsea wonders why she can't keep a relationship. She thinks maybe she'll give up men altogether. The men in the audience cheer. Nick says, "There is a guy out there for you somewhere. Maybe he's even human."

"What about you," asks Chelsea, "Do you have your eye on anybody?"

"You saw Melanie kiss me, didn't you," asks Nick.

"You need to be careful about her," says Chelsea.

"Nah," says Nick, "I'll probably never see her again."

Melanie stands in the door to Max' and Stephanie's room, "Killing our dad isn't going to solve anything."

"I don't need both of you ganging up on me," says Max.

"He is stubborn, isn't he," asks Melanie, "Maybe he needs his kid sister to look after him and stop him from doing something incredibly stupid."

"An entire army of sisters couldn't keep him from doing something stupid," says Stephanie.

"In fact," says Melanie, "maybe his kid sister should come back to Salem with him after all."

Max tells Chelsea and Stephanie about Claude, "He has liked her ever since she was a little girl."

They did meet in the park.  They feed peanuts to the squirrels and made castles in the sandbox.

Max says he has changed his mind about letting her go. Melanie tells him not to make it harder than it is.

Max listen to Melanie…let her go.  All her shrieking is giving my zapper a real work out.

John asks, "What's the difference between giving up and letting me go?"

"This way," says Marlena, "We get to torture the audience and drag things out longer.

Right on, Prevuze!!!  There’s very little difference between DOOL and the rack.  They both stretch you to the breaking point.

Chelsea rambles about Daniel, "Is there something wrong with me?"

Nick says, "This is only an hour-long show. But as far as I'm concerned, you're perfect." That bullet must've ricocheted from his shoulder into his brain.

Nick has got to be a glutton for punishment.  Hmmm, I guess this fits right in with the DOOL torture theme we’ve got going here.

"In fact," says Melanie, "maybe his kid sister should come back to Salem with him after all."

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  We already know that Trent is going to be murdered, and all fingers will be pointed at Max.  Who’s going to defend him in the trial of the century?  I believe that would be EJ.  Is this going to get even more stupid?  Of course, it will.  This is DOOL.

Prevuze gives the faithful another great censored link, and Bulldog has accurately diagnosed Kate’s hackathon.  Prevuze, thanks so much for the recap of this truly zap worthy episode.

Seems to me, that people forget that there are different kinds of lawyers not a generic g.p. Civil, corporate, criminal, divorce. So how come E.J. can practice seemingly all kinds. Isn't that why they have partners? One provides one service while another provides a different service.Loved your prevuze today. Gad you are still in the biz. c

Specialties on DOOL? The writers do not understand the concept that is why Daniel has been involved in every imaginable emergency that has come through Salem University Hospital. I’m sure he’s even removed corns from Kate’s feet.

"He used her in the worst possible way. He made her watch DOOL and recap the episodes for some website."

OMG! Talk about grotesque. String him up by his thumbs, staple open his eyelids and make him watch DOOL non-stop.

"Trent rubs me the wrong way," says John.

Oh, my. The censored links I could make out of that statement. Prevuze, you get points for controlling yourself. (Or is it demerits for NOT controlling yourself?)

John asks, "What's the difference between giving up and letting me go?" "This way," says Marlena, "We get to torture the audience and drag things out longer.”

The audience groans and begs to be strung up by their thumbs instead.

Got a good laugh out of John looking like one of the Borg with his bluetooth hanging out of his ear. Is that not one of the most annoying, pretentious things going right now?

Fabulous pictures of Kate's "TB" and cleanliness being next to Godliness. LOLOL

Great job!

This one is now must-see-tv since Prevuze has made it amazingly entertaining. I am eternally a huge fan of the Mr. Potato Head snarks:

"It's not my face, either," says Phillip.

Phillip's jaw drops so hard he nearly needs yet another face.

LOL!

But I dread Chelsea cozying up to Nick as he recovers. If you think Stephanie clings to Max like "wet plaster", then Chelsea will stick to Nick like cat hair on a sucker.

I want to know what brand of make up Chloe uses. She was in that hot steamy shower, outside and no makeup was streaming down her face and her hair wasn't at all frizzy.
Now, ladies...you KNOW she's wearing a TON of eye makeup 24/7.

Why did they not send Allie's favorite bear with her when they packed her up for her erotic weekend getaway with Daddy? Everytime that kid would cry, I'd say...You go, girl. Does Lucas remember that she has night terrors? That should be a romantic first night.

Late to comment but I just want to say I LOL over Jawn looking one of the Borg. He kinda acts like one of the borg, too. HAHAHA I'm sure the people in cars that we passed while I was reading this (in the passenger seat, I should clarify) thought I was crazy the way I was laughing.

EJ might as well be an all-around lawyer. Besides being Chief of Staph, Lexie has handled every case that's come in there from pancreatic transplants to psychiatry.

Prevuze, I'm glad I can still log in and get my daily fix while on the road. Otherwise it would be a loooong vacation! :D
