Another Day... Another Bad Signal

Ho hum... Another day, another bad signal. I could deal with the bad video, but when this happens, I can't tell what the characters are saying. Given most of the dialog, maybe that's for the best.

I let the recording run and glanced at up from time to time, but couldn't tell much. It appears Nicole discovers Vivian in the sarcophagus.

Victor is his usual crusty old self.

Sami goes through her standard uber-overdone agony and Rafe supports her.

Kate and Will have a conversation.

EJ and Stefano talk and I assume we learn just how much of "everything" EJ knows.

Nathan has a conversation with Stefano. At least that would be a refreshing change from talking to Stephanie.

Nicole appears to have a conversation with Vivian. Either that, or the sarcophagus is Nicole's new BFF. Vivian begs Nicole to let her out, but Nicole wants details about why she's in there. Vivian promises to tell her everything once she is out.

Brady discovers Nicole (I think they're still in the crypt) and I assume gives her his side of the story.

Nathan tends to EJ and they have a conversation. Nathan tells EJ all about his relationship with Stephanie and that sends EJ back into a coma.

Sami and Will talk. Kate and Stefano talk, so I assume Kate and Will are there at the hospital. Can't tell for sure. Rafe steps in and talks to Will. Sami joins in and we either have a family hug or a family argument. Hard to tell.

Stef 'n Ho continue their conversation.

Vivian appears to join in on the little talk Brady and Nicole are having.

Rafe gives Will some fatherly advice, even though he's not his father and his advice usually isn't worth much.

Nathan talks to Stef 'n Ho. EJ is either in on the conversation, or is talking to himself.

Victor joins the fun with Brady and Nicole. I guess they have Vivian blocked off so Victor doesn't know she's in there. Victor seems to suspect something is up. So, whenever is something not up on this show?

It appears Stefano goes back in and talks to EJ.

Well, that was the most excitement I've had since I learned how to boil water in a microwave.

Oh no!...you're 1 up on me this morning Prevuze...It seems I've NEVER properly learned how to boil water in the microwave! For some reason I always thought it was a natural learning process, boiling water that is...Ohhhh the intricacies of modern life :)

...and the drama continues...since life seems to imitate art, Sami is yet again confused about deciding which guy she should stick with. She's somewhat ready to move on with her life...both guys can essentially offer her the same things(at least 2 that are important to her)...a family life and stability. Whom should she chose??? One she has known for a while and she feels indebted to him, he's been there for her...the other is a newbie, very intent on gettin to know her...what should be her deciding factor???...decisions, decisions...

Well done Prevuze!
I'm sure you more than covered the episode. You've probably tapped into next months storylines as well.
Love your blog

As long as they’re not talking about Stephanie, this sounds promising.

Nathan tends to EJ and they have a conversation. Nathan tells EJ all about his relationship with Stephanie and that sends EJ back into a coma.

When Stephanie and Nathan get together, a coma or fake amnesia is a good plan for the viewers as well. Of course, that’s assuming that they’re not already sound asleep.

Rafe gives Will some fatherly advice, even though he's not his father and his advice usually isn't worth much.

Even with Lucas as his father, this can’t be a step up for Will. Yesterday, an anonymous commenter noted that Rafe is doing a lot of smirking. I prefer to think of the Rafester’s smirk as an extension of his crooked smile. That would mean he still only has two expressions.

Victor seems to suspect something is up. So, whenever is something not up on this show?

Unfortunately, DOOL is usually up to some form of silliness. Sigh.

Thanks for doing your darndest to keep us apprised of all the DOOL writers’ scintillating dialogue. To find out for sure that Nathan wasn’t discussing Stephanie with the DiMeras, I guess – heavens forbid – I’ll have to watch the entire episode zapper free. I sure wouldn’t want to miss anything. I also need to extract my tongue from my cheek.

Happy hump day everyone!!!

I'm sure Prevuze hit the nail on the head by saying the dialog to this episode was superfluous. Just reading about most of it made me want to zap.

Only thing worth watching is probably the Nicole/Vivian/Brady fun. Oh, and Victor. I'm sure he'll have some snarky observations worth hearing.

Watching a pixilated, unintelligible feed (while not too different from a normal DOOL feed) has to be termed an Excederin* Headache #1. Thanks for braving it on our behalf!

*Anyone else remember those great "Exedrin Headache #" commercials? Now THAT was great storytelling!

Yeah, and don't forget the "Taster's Choice" ads. They, too, told an ongoing story as I recall.

"Vivian begs Nicole to let her out, but Nicole wants details about why she's in there. Vivian promises to tell her everything once she is out."

Plot is very similar to an old Twilight Zone episode. Entitled "The Howling Man," the storyline is a man traveling in Europe on foot who stumbles across a religious order that has trapped the Devil. Monks tell a new arrival how devious he is and to never give him access to escape. Of course, the normal-looking Devil sweet-talks the new guy and helps him reach the ring of jailers keys. Once out, the man-Devil starts to take on gargantuan height---complete with large ears & horns and a red cape.

Can't you just see a new JER-like storyline with Viv as Beelzebub?? Wouldn't she look dandy in red tights, shiny red medieval costume, complete with horns & tail? Recyling of the Marlena possession plot at its best!

I remember those commercial very well. I think my mother lived on the stuff. Prevuze that has to be hard watching not hearing, I think you need a trophy for all your suffering. Its seems almost as bad as losing the remote, and having to watch the whole show cause I'm to lazy to get up and change the channel. Happy Humping Day. c

ha ha ha! Who needs sedatives or anesthesia at Salem General when all you need is Nathan and a description of his relationship with Stephanie!

Well I am off to resume the more exciting part of my day - watching the grass grow outside my window.

Last night there was some sort of retrospective for DOOL that was tied into the Academy. It can still be seen at http://www.emmys.com/days

There were panel discussions that included current and past cast members and some of the writing team. I haven't seen it yet but I'm guessing it should be interesting.

The other day I quoted an old Alka Seltzer commercial as I staggered away from some huge meal:"I...can't...believe...I...ate...the...whole...thing."

LOL over the sargophagus being Nicole's new BFF. Hmmm. Better than Chloe.

How you made a thumbnail sketch of the episode more entertaining than the real thing I'll never figure out, Prevuze, but thanks! :D

Leslie,
Prevuze's comments were funny, and your responses were great. thanks for the laughs!

Sounds like this is an episode without Stephannoying. And any episode without Stephannoying is a good episode. Even the Rafester is more tolerable than Stephannoying. (But just by the hair on his chinny-chin-chin...)

Betyar, there is an on-line course you should try about learning to boil water. It's called "Boiling Water 101 as taught by Sami Brady." I've taken it twice - and still can't boil water. I think it might have something to do with the instructor, who has probably never seen a stove or a water faucet, much less boiled water.... however, I have learned some useful tips on collecting engagement rings and wedding dresses!

I just have one question about today's aired show....WTH was with the blatant product placement done by Caroline at the pub. Including a closeup of the product??? This is what DOOL has come to :P.

DOOLfan65

Word verification: noniporn.....i will just leave that one alone :)

There is absolutely no way to do a product placement without it looking awkward. But, to be fair, at least the panda that's in the regular Wanchai Ferry commercials didn't make an appearance.

DOOLfan65, I got a pretty sweet word verification, too: nohairfo. Maybe as in "nohairfo EJ."
