Dutch Courage

We're in a bedroom. Not just any bedroom but... we pan in to find that apparently Phillip and Stephanie have settled all their differences. And apparently Phillip has completely disowned his father and the Kiriakis family, but he doesn't seem to have any problem using the mansion and all that goes with it. Anyway, Phillip and Stephanie cuddle and talk. Stephanie says she thinks she could get used to this, "We make a good team."

"We do," says Phillip, "And if I go back to work at Titan, we'll be great at the company picnic in the three-legged race."

Lucas is in Chloe's room. He rants about how much he hates her for betraying him. Craig walks in and overhears.

Daniel sneaks into Kate's room looking for the rubber gloves which any dimwit would have burned long ago. Kate returns to the mansion and heads for her room.

Bo comes downstairs and announces that Ciara is asleep. Hope gives him herbal tea. Bo wants something stronger, but she reminds him he has a concussion. Bo says he didn't stay in the hospital because they both should be there when Ciara wakes up. Hope is indifferent. Bo gets hot tea and a cold shoulder. He asks if she can forgive him. Hope is silent so he decides to sleep in the guest room. Bo gets a break.

Dean sits on the ubiquitous park bench, flicks his Zippo and remembers killing Bonnie. He rages, "I didn't kill my girlfriend for you to go home and drift into dreamland."

Justin is at the pub on the phone telling the guy on the other end to be discrete. Victor walks up, hears him talking about Kate, and questions him. Justin hangs up and deflects the question, "It's none of your expletive deleted business." Victor finds a few of those missing expletives and reminds Justin he is an employee, and says he's entitled to know all aspects of the case. Justin disagrees.

Kate takes off several layers of necklaces. Daniel slips and Kate hears the commotion.

We pan in on Phillip and Stephanie again. Phillip pants out his love as body parts scamper across the screen.

Nathan and Melanie arrive at Maggie's. The kitchen, of course. We have a cheesy product placement commercial. Really cheesy.

Prevuze

Nathan offers to help her study. He heads for a shower and orders a bowl of product placement.

Melanie stands alone and goes starry-eyed, "Oh, you make it hard to hate you." Maggie comes in and is all aglow about the way Melanie looked at Nathan earlier.

Lucas tells Craig it's true. He hates Chloe for slumming around on him, "Part of it isn't her fault, though. She had terrible parents." Craig gets peeved and says they have a lot to straighten out.

If I have to tell you why Hope is upset you haven't been watching the show for... what... about six weeks. They have yet another argument about the way Bo handled the kidnapping ransom. Ciara calls and they run upstairs.

Melanie misinterprets what Maggie means, "Oh... I... we haven't done anything. I would never... in your house... with your grandson." Apparently, Maggie was hoping at some point Melanie would... in her house... with her grandson, but suggests Melanie let the guy make the first move. Melanie thinks that Maggie thinks she isn't good enough for St. Nathan.

Craig and Lucas are outside the room now. Craig says he has to leave town and he wants to know he can trust Lucas. He orders Lucas to live up to his responsibilities for Chloe, "Think of it as if that's your own daughter lying in there."

"If that were the case," says Lucas, "I'd have to spend most of my time wondering if EJ or I was her father."

Justin and Victor discuss Daniel, Kate and Chloe. Justin tells Victor Chloe came out of her coma, "She even spoke."

"Don't you mean she whined?"

Kate apparently ignored what she heard and stands in her closet talking to her shoes. Look, folks, I don't make it up, I just report it. Daniel hides deep in the closet as Kate goes into the adjoining bathroom. Daniel sneaks out. Instead of leaving, however, he continues to search. He finds the gloves in Kate's bureau.

Congrats to Tamara Braun and Darin Brooks for winning Emmys for "Best performance by actors deserting a sinking ship."

Maggie encourages Melanie to be proud of herself, "I don't want you to move out. I like guests. I'm used to finding wet towels on the bathroom floor."

Melanie jumps in, "Oh... sorry about that... I'll be more careful from now on..."

Maggie interrupts, "I know Nathan left the towels there." So get this... Maggie figures since Melanie was willing to take the rap for the wet towels, that makes her the most magnanimous person who has ever walked. Move over Mother Teresa, there's a new saint in town. "I would be completely OK with you and Nathan..."

Nathan walks in, "Totally OK with what?"

Dean shows up at Bo and Hope's door. Bo answers and invites him in. Hope greets him. Ciara stares him down. Hope takes her into the kitchen.

Dean says, "Sir..."

Bo interrupts, "Please, call me Bo..."

"I don't really feel comfortable with that," says Dean.

"Then," says Bo, "Just call me what everyone else does... Butthead."

Dean says he never killed anyone before and he's been thinking of using the reward money to take some time off. Bo has some bad news. He tells Dean he's not eligible for the money.

Lucas tells Craig he lived up to his vows and Craig shouldn't be lecturing him. Craig reminds him that's his daughter in there and Lucas has made mistakes of his own, "You can judge her later."

Daniel stuffs the gloves in his pocket and starts to sneak out. Kate discovers him, "What the hell are you doing here?"

Prevuze

Victor figures Justin is investigating Kate. He tells him to back off, "She's had one son nearly assassinated another cuckolded and publicly humiliated. And don't forget what I do with people who humiliate me." Victor leaves in a huff.

Justin asks, "Do we need to protect Kate because she's been through so much, or done so much?"

Daniel bobs and weaves. He says he came up to see if Kate was in. He says he wants to talk. "You look like you had a little Dutch Courage before coming up here," says Kate.

"You're right," says Daniel, "I've been drinking... a little. But I came up to say I'm sorry."

Bo says he wishes things were different, but department rules state an officer on duty isn't eligible for the reward. Hope joins them and Bo explains things. Hope thinks Dean should get the reward. She tells him they'll call their lawyer and work things out. She and Bo snipe back and forth. Dean gets out of the crossfire and leaves.

Once Dean is out the door, Hope has a solar tsunami. Ciara walks out, "Why are you fighting?"

Nathan wonders what Maggie and Melanie are talking about. Maggie tells him they are discussing wet towels on the bathroom floor. Nate cringes as Maggie says she will take care of it. She leaves.

Melanie reminds him, "Around here we don't have cute little orderlies picking up our stuff." They decide it's time for Melanie to study. Nathan finds a website where she can take sample exams. He tells her he thinks it's a big deal she helped Daniel earlier in the evening.

Melanie looks at the computer screen, "Hey, these are sports scores, not biology tests." Nathan asks, "Well, do you like baseball?"

"No absolutely not."

That bursts Nate's balloon, "Oh, I thought we could go to a game sometime." That changes Melanie's tune...

"GO CUBS!"

Phillip and Stephanie decide they are hungry. CENSORED.

Hope decides Ciara can't hear them argue. She reminds Bo he said he would give the reward to whomever found Ciara and she won't go back on that. Bo leaves for some air. Cool air, that is. He's had enough hot air for one evening.

Hope wonders, "What's happening to us?"

Daniel tells Kate he knows he's screwed up and hurt a lot of people. He says he used work to make sure he didn't have time to think or feel, "But I have time now, so I think even when I don't want to... about what I've done and why. When you dumped me, you threw me, Roberts."

"I was there, Jonas, and you didn't even blink because you were focusing on Miss Lane."

"Miss Lane," says Daniel, "was revenge to hurt you like you want to hurt me now. And I'm sorry. More than you'll ever know."

Melanie serves herself another bowl of product placement as Nathan waits for her answer to a critical test question. Melanie proudly announces, "The answer is... D... none of the above."

And the question was, "What part of this episode is in any way entertaining?"

Melanie and Nathan fist butt and Nathan tells her she'll ace the test. She orders him to go to bed after his long day. He heads up.

Hope hears a voice and opens the door to find Justin on the phone. Justin barks into the phone, "I am not running away, Adrian... Think of it more as abandonment." Hope has invited him there to talk. He asks about Bo.

"You're not the only one arguing with a spouse tonight," says Hope.

Craig and Lucas are back in with Chloe. Craig says he hopes things get better for Lucas. Lucas doesn't see how that can happen. He reluctantly shakes Craig's hand. Craig tells him to take care of Chloe and rides off into the sunset.

Lucas turns to the vegetable, "Your father wants me to care for you. The question is how." He strangles her.

Phillip meets Victor outside the pub. "I remember you," says Victor, "You went to find the inner Phillip."

"I had to," says Phillip, "With all my artificial parts, there is no outer Phillip left."

Phillip tells him he's happy now and re-engaged, "I'm in love with her. Nothing will change that. Unless, of course there is an incriminating video out there somewhere."

Melanie sits and stares into her laptop, "Greetings form Marseilles. What's up? Looks like you still know how to party!" She watches as a salacious video comes up on the screen, "Who is that guy he's streaming?" Oops. Suddenly Melanie recognizes the cast of characters on the video..

"OMG!"

Bo sits in he Java Café and broods. He goes outside and walks off. We'll hear about that gripping scene at next year's Emmys.

Hope tells Justin she wants Dean to get the reward. He asks if that's why she and Bo were arguing. Hope don' wanna talk about it. So they talk about it. Justin tells her to relax and let it go.

Lucas tells Chloe he can't forgive her.

Kate says she's sorry if she hurt Daniel. He caresses her cheek and she backs off. "Things could've been different," says Daniel, "We could've had it all."

"Like the book says," says Kate, "wouldn't that be lovely?" She decides to go to bed. Alone. She opens the door.

Daniel gives her a parting shot, "I meant what I said. I'm sorry." He walks out. Kate leans against the door and stares. Outside, Daniel leans against the other side of the door and contemplates the gloves, "Not as sorry as you're gonna be."

Meanwhile, in the Dominican Republic, Baker's finger continues to twitch...

Don't worry. If it's still twitching when he gets to the morgue, the mortician will just cut it off and you'll find it in a bowl of Crappyo's some day.

"We make a good team."

"We do," says Phillip, "And if I go back to work at Titan, we'll be great at the company picnic in the three-legged race."

Ahhhh – a low blow from Prevuze but a fact that eludes the DOOL creative team. Apparently, they’ve done a lot of market research and found that DOOL is the #1 program for those suffering from amnesia. Much like H1N1, they are hopeful that the disease is highly contagious and will be passed on to all the regular viewers of DOOL. Otherwise the writers will continue to get snarky comments from Prevuze and all the Prevuze devotees about their sloppy reconstruction and/or total disregard of DOOL history.

Daniel sneaks into Kate's room looking for the rubber gloves which any dimwit would have burned long ago.

Did Dr. Cop-A-Feel think that Kate was keeping contaminated gloves tucked under her thongs? Oh, my, what’s worse – contaminated gloves or the thought of Kate wearing a thong? Yikes!!

Hope is silent so he decides to sleep in the guest room. Bo gets a break.

Let’s break this down. Ciara was kidnapped. Bo refused to pay the kidnappers the $5,000,000 ransom. Hope wanted to pay the kidnappers the $5,000,000 ransom. Ciara was rescued unharmed. Since Bo didn’t acquiesce to Hope’s wishes, Hope refuses to let Bo play with her. Geez.

"Think of it as if That's your own daughter lying in there."

"If that were the case," says Lucas, "I'd have to spent most of my time wondering if EJ or I was her father."

Excellent, Prevuze, excellent!!!!!!!!!

Hope wonders, "What's happening to us?"

You’re acting like a self-righteous controlling shrew – that’s what’s happening.

Meanwhile, in the Dominican Republic, Baker's finger continues to twitch...

Don't worry. If it's still twitching when he gets to the morgue, the mortician will just cut it off and you'll find it in a bowl of Crappyo's some day.

There you go. Prevuze has solved the mystery of the twitching finger. Too bad the writers couldn’t have come up with something equally brilliant.

Word verification - butzi - a place where Hope is a pain.

Bulldog – you bad!!! Prevuze thank you for another superior h@@p day recap and naughty censored link!!

If I have to tell you why Hope is upset you haven't been watching the show for... what... about six weeks.

Has it only been that long? Seems more like 6 months.

Kate…stands in her closet talking to her shoes. Look, folks, I don't make it up, I just report it.

Well, admit it, sometimes Prevuze DOES make it up. Fortunately for us, those are the interesting parts of DAYS. For example…

Melanie proudly announces, "The answer is... D... none of the above." And the question was, "What part of this episode is in any way entertaining?"

Dean says he never killed anyone before and he's been thinking of using the reward money to take some time off.

Ummmm, in most PD’s an officer-involved shooting would automatically bring “paid time off” while an internal investigation was performed, plus mandatory therapy sessions for the cop involved.

Loved the Prevuze homage to the Emmy winners. I was thinking the same thing when I heard where the only two DAYS Emmy's went. lol

Bull, as usual, was brilliant as was Melanie's warning to Philip. Keep it up Prevuze, we're [say it with me] there for you!

Oop! That was Bulldog was brilliant, not Bull. Bulldog never slings the bull. Really. Never. Right?

This time my word verification is "kahemou". Sounds Hawaiian. Probably means, "Dang it, why didn't this idiot proofread before posting?"

I'm in need of some legal-eagle to clarify my thinking...instead of waiting until they have just cause with a search warrant so the police could discover the incriminating gloves, Dr. Gropefeel just gathered evidence that can't be used in court. Duh!

Kate takes off several layers of necklaces. Along with her chunky plastic bracelets, gypsy earrings and carnival booth rings. I looked at her getup yesterday and thought good lord, woman! Take off about five pounds of that stuff. Prevuze - best fashion blog on the internet

LOL over "If that were the case," says Lucas, "I'd have to spent most of my time wondering if EJ or I was her father." Meow. Good one! HAHAHHAA

Loved the censored link, Crappyos and my ultra favorite: "Then," says Bo, "Just call me what everyone else does...Butthead."

Thanks! :D

First of all, when you say something like this, I'd advise toning down the legalese such as terms like "just cause" and "search warrant." I mean, what the hell are those? But that aside, your observation that those gloves couldn't be used in court is, well... damn good legal tip! I've gotta start writing these things down.

Thanks,
