Sloppy Seconds

Phillip jogs into the park, drops and starts doing push ups. Daniel jogs up to him and speculates Phillip is doing such a strenuous workout to get the breakup with Stephanie out of his system.

Chloe dresses to leave the hospital. Kate is with her wondering if she should leave so soon. Chloe insists she's fine, "I'm starting to feel like my old self again."

"How can you tell," says Kate.

"My mind is starting to feel numb again."

Kate asks her to tape the show today since this is Daniel's last day, "You must be so relieved you won't be tempted by him any more."

Rafe putters around the apartment and finds Sami's note. He reads it and stares, "Oh no, not there." Roman comes to the door and Rafe invites him in. Roman has a baseball mitt for Johnny, but as usual, Rafe has to report he has no clue where the little brats are. "I think it's strange," says Roman, "that Sami wouldn't want to spend time with the son she fought so hard to get."

BINGO!

Meanwhile, Rafe dusts off the empty spot on the bookshelf they've been saving to put the trophy when Sami wins the Mother Of The Year award.

While Rafe does that, Roman surveys the room and sees all the boxes and 'guy stuff' lying around. He puts two and two together, and although he comes up with five, he still figures Rafe is moving in.

Sami arrives at the secret spot but is distracted when she sees a hysterical woman through the bushes calling for Emily. Sami walks over to her. The mystery woman wails, "I still can't believe what happened."

Melanie comes into Maggie's kitchen. Maggie finds her and they lament the fact that Phillip and Stephanie are history.

Stephanie comes up to Nathan at the nurses station and tells him she's working on a press release about the new class of interns. She wants to interview him and learn all about the Horton legacy.

The mystery woman tells Sami she is Emily's sister and this place is full of memories. Sami asks what happened to Emily, but Em's sister zones out.

Daniel and Phillip pump and huff. Phillip asks about Daniel leaving town. Daniel says it's true, "It's just time to move on. So many female patients... so little time to grope."

Phillip asks why he's going, "Is it woman troubles?"

"Something like that," says Daniel. He runs off. Phillip stares.

Chloe asks if Daniel explained why he was leaving. "Because of you," says Kate, "You're not upset about it, are you?"

Roman says what Sami does is her business. His only gripe is the way Rafe handled the situation with Grace, "But I know your heart was in the right place. You are the first man I've known who might be up to the task of handling Sami."

"Right," says Rafe, "I handle her as often as I can."

Sami tells Emily's sister about losing her daughter. She sticks out her hand, "I'm Sami Brady."

Emily's sister shakes Sami's hand, "Hi. I'm Meredith Hudson."

Melanie comes back into the kitchen all dressed up. She announces that she's off to dinner with Nathan. Maggie gushes. Melanie insists this isn't a big deal with her and Nathan. She leaves and Maggie squishes herself all up like she just ate a batch of persimmons.

Daniel meets Nathan at the hospital. Nathan says he'll miss having Dr. Dan around. "You'll do fine without me," says Daniel, "as long as you remember one thing... sleep is overrated."

"Good luck," says Nathan.

"Luck is also overrated," says Daniel, "That makes three things that are overrated... Sleep, luck and this show."

Chloe says she is actually relieved Daniel is leaving. Kate asks about Lucas. Chloe says he called and she told him she's OK and said he doesn't have to rush home. "You'll be fine," says Kate, "Lightning never strikes a third time." Chloe goes to dress. Kate huffs, "The third time is the charm."

Rafe vows to protect Sami with his life. Roman says he'll hold him to that. Hilda's ghost comes up behind Roman and whispers, "You might want to keep an eye on things anyway. When Rafe vows to protect people, it doesn't always work out."

Meredith says she used to come to this spot with Emily and her fiancée. Sami asks how Emily died. "Rafe was protecting her," says Meredith.

Kate and Chloe join Chris and Maggie in her kitchen. Kate asks, "Chris, why don't you run off and help Chloe find something summery and light."

"You mean like a mosquito," asks Chris.

Maggie says she has just the thing, "I have the perfect scarf." Chloe Maggie and Chris all head up to get the scarf. Getting a scarf is a tough job. It requires at least three people. Kate picks up a plate of chocolates from the counter and takes out the vile vial which, frankly, I thought was supposed to be sitting on a shelf in Daniel's apartment. Oh well, continuity is for wimps. She spreads a few drops of poison on the candy, "Daniel hates chocolate, so these are all for you, Chloe."

From Poor Kate's Almanac: "Early to bed a man and early to make him 'rise' gets a girl a lot more guys."

Melanie comes into the pub and she and Arianna make up from their last little spat. Melanie tells Arianna she's going to dinner with a friend and Arianna figures out it's Nathan in about five seconds. Melanie insists this is just a dinner, not a date. But... OMG... He's late. Melanie whines, "Where are you, Nathan?"

Back at the nurses' station, Nathan suddenly realizes it's late and tells Stephanie he has a non-date with Melanie. Stephanie gives him a look and they argue about whether or not she gave him a look. Nate heads out and Stephanie stares. She flashes back to the heartbreaking breakup. Hey, come on, it was heartbreaking. Look at the size of the diamond in that ring she had to return. As Stephanie daydreams about what might have been, Phillip walks in.

Meredith don' wanna talk about Emily. So she proceeds to ramble on about her and then leaves. Sami sulks back to her spot and Rafe shows up. He immediately moves in on her but senses something is wrong.

Phillip and Stephanie share an uncomfortable moment. He tells her he's there for the hospital board meeting.

Nathan joins Melanie. They share small talk about her exam and Maggie. Nathan gets a page from the ER and has to go. He offers a raincheck, but Melanie says she will wait.

Chris helps Chloe straighten her scarf as Daniel walks in. Dan scoots Chris off as Kate offers Chloe a chocolate. Chloe munches as she and Daniel talk by themselves. Chloe asks, "What happened? Things didn't work out with that woman you are dating."

Daniel says, "There is no other woman for me, Chloe. But that's only because there is no other woman around right now."

Sami fidgets as Rafe prepares the picnic. Rafe tells her about Roman showing up. The blood drains from Sami's face as she realizes she might be in trouble with Daddy for shacking up with a guy. It turns out Daddy is used to Sami's shacking up habits and Rafe says things were awkward at first but Roman gave them his blessing. Rafe pours the wine and raises his glass, "To us. For all the Days Of Our Lives."

Sami says, "Even your toasts are as dull as a stripped down Yugo."

Stephanie realizes with Phillip on the board, they'll be bumping into each other a lot, "I knew you'd never be completely out of sight or out of mind"

"I won't be out of sight," says Phillip, "But I figure I was out of my mind to date you in the first place."

"Maybe one day we can be friends," says Stephanie.

"I'm not sure I could handle that," says Phillip. He leaves. Stephanie stares.

Kate bawls Chris out, "I wanted the picture of that antique on the set!"

Chris says,
"I think it's very egotistical of you to want your own picture on the set."

Kate heads for the store to get the picture. Chris stares in and sees Chloe eating inside. Daniel and Chloe argue about whether he's dating someone else or not. Daniel denies everything. Chloe tells him she was dreaming about him in the hospital, "You're all I ever think about."

"Same here," says Daniel, "I think about myself a lot."

Chloe teeters on the verge of deciding to end her relationship with Loserclueless.

Rafe and Sami go for a little dessert. Rafe is reminded of Sami's dunk into the river on their last date in the woods. Things get hot and heavy.

Phillip comes out with a woman talking about the board meeting. Apparently the crowd at the meeting enjoyed a few adult beverages. Phillip is a bit tipsy as he invites her to the Brady pub.

REE-JECTED!

Phillip walks out as Stephanie watches the whole thing. Nathan walks in and figures out that was Steph's former fiancée, "So it just didn't work out?"

"In a nutshell."

Nathan tries to be helpful, "Want me to kill him?"

Stephanie tells Nathan about Phillip almost dying after being shot, "Now he's acting like he's dead to me."

"Gee," asks Nathan, "That wouldn't be because, Oh... I don't know... you dumped him?"

Daniel wants Chloe. Chloe wants Daniel. Dan the man moves in on Chloe the Ho-ie. Suddenly, Daniel stops, "you feel warm." Chloe tells him about being sick again and in the hospital. He says something is not right, "I will find out what it is. I won't leave while you are sick."

Rafe and Sami get serious. Without warning, Sami the tease stops things and says she has to go get the twins. Rafe offers to go with her but Sami figures she can handle it alone, "I'll meet you at home."

"Home," says Rafe, "I like the sound of that." Sami runs off.

Maggie bustles into the hospital. Nate explains he got called back from his non date with Melanie. He texts her with an update.

Lonely Melanie sits at her table in the pub and blows bubbles into her drink, "I don't have a life but at least I embrace it."

Arianna asks, "You're still wishing you were on a date with Phillip, aren't you."

Melanie gives her a nervous chuckle, "NO! Those two minutes with Nathan were memorable. Besides, I am nobody's sloppy seconds."

Phillip walks in and Arianna makes herself scarce. Soused Phillip joins Melanie and invites her in a ride in his new Ferrari GT. Melanie giggles and chokes.

Chloe says, "God can damn me if he wants, but I can't help how I feel. I have been so unfair to you and Lucas. I'm leaving him. I love you and want to be with you."

Kate calls Chris and tells him she's on the way back. She hangs up and puts on a pair of gloves. She pulls a phone out of her purse.

Maggie gets a call and Stephanie walks off. Maggie gets no sound, but looks at the caller ID, "Hello? Chloe? Are you there?"

Kate plays the recording as Maggie listens in horror. Chloe's voice rings out, "Wait! Daniel! I can't talk to you!"

Daniel's voice shouts, "If I can't have you no one will."

Maggie panics, "Chloe? Are you there?"

Rafe unpacks and wonders why Sami isn't back yet.

Sami meets Roman in front of the pub. "I need your help, Dad, but I don't want you to ask why I want this."

"Sure," agrees Roman, "What do you need?"

Sami says, "I want to find out as much as I can about a woman named Meredith Hudson."

"Why?"

Roman's about as sharp as a marble.

haha "Houston, we do have a problem - there are also no signs of life, anywhere".

Viles just showing up wherever, kids seen once every month aging at an alarming rate, consistency shot to hell, what will happen next? A plot? Yay right?

Happy Monday everyone, another week of DOOL is like another week with a bad stomach virus. Luckily we have Prevuze to nurse us through.

So if it's so distasteful to you (and from comments also to many others) why do you bother to keep connected and find out what is happening on DOOL?

"I think it's strange," says Roman, "that Sami wouldn't want to spend time with the son she fought so hard to get."

BINGO!

Since it appears that he is incapable of a coherent thought, Roman must be reading Prevuze because all of the faithful Prevuzites have been saying the same thing.

He puts two and two together, and although he comes up with five, he still figures Rafe is moving in.

OK, Roman isn’t capable of a coherent or an intelligent thought.

Maggie finds her and they lament the fact that Phillip and Stephanie are history.

Why does Maggie give a rat’s hairy butt? Did Phillip drop big bucks at Chez Rouge wining and dining Steponme and now Maggie can’t pay her help?

Sami asks what happened to Emily, but Em's sister zones out.

Hmmm, let me guess – Em’s sister will finally return to earth at the same time Rafe appears to shut her up and keep all of us in the dark until DOOL is on the brink of cancellation.

Daniel says it's true, "It's just time to move on. So many female patients... so little time to grope."

Whatta guy!!!

From Poor Kate's Almanac: "Early to bed a man and early to make him 'rise' gets a girl a lot more guys."

Is “Poor Kate’s Almanac” next to the “Guy Manual” on Prevuze’s book shelf? LOL!!!!!

Meredith don' wanna talk about Emily. So she proceeds to ramble on about her and then leaves.

All right – I got it wrong about Rafe breaking up the conversation but the rest of my prediction was pretty accurate.

Sami says, "I want to find out as much as I can about a woman named Meredith Hudson."

Finally – Sami should have been using her father as a resource as soon as Rafe wouldn’t answer her questions but why isn’t she asking about Emily instead of Meredith? How typical of DOOL to take us down the circuitous route instead of using the direct path.

…one small step for a man and one giant leap in DOOL mediocrity – Prevuze really got that one right!! Thanks for the great Monday recap!!!

Lesile... Leslie... Leslie... Don't sell yourself short. You'll get it right when Rafe breaks up their next conversation. And the one after that... And the one after that... And the one...

Some “secret spot” if Emily’s sister is up there bewailing all the memories that happened there. Unless Emily/Meredith/Rafe were into threesomes.

"That makes three things that are overrated... Sleep, luck and this show."

How true, and ties in perfectly with the great moon landing picture. Among Prevuze other accolades, it's the best history blog on the Internet.

Oh well, continuity is for wimps.

That must make DOOL the “Brawny” of soaps then. lol

And, speaking of continuity:

Phillip jogs into the park

Is he in sweats? I’m just waiting for DOOL to totally throw out the “missing limb” history and have Philip show up somewhere in shorts or swim trunks and two perfectly good legs.

Kudos to the great pictures and all of the prevuisms I didn't mention. Happy Monday everyone.

Think Sami will ever notice that Safe's special spot isn't even as special as EJ and Nicole's elevator?

Tomorrow's show sounds horrendously bad, even worse than usual.

If the rest of my summer is going to be wasted on Same and Rafe, Stephanie and Phil I may as well make a freezer full of jell-o shots to get me thru it.

OK, I don't understand as usual.

Kate uses Chloe's phone to send the "fight" so Maggie can hear it. You'd think even Maggie would stop to wonder why Chloe would be sending it to her. If it was a real disagreement and Chloe was trying to call someone for help wouldn't she phone 911? Pard? Bo? Bueller? Why didn't Kate just phone it to one of them?

And not only do I wonder about Phillip's leg too, Applecheeks, let's hope he stopped to shower before the big board meeting.

And one more thing. They went to Sami's secret spot just to have a lame toast and some necking. Couldn't they do that in their empty apartment since they've palmed the kids off somewhere else?

LOL over Kate bawls Chris out, "I wanted the picture of that antique on the set!" Chris says, "I think it's very egotistical of you to want your own picture on the set." Meow.

Great moon landing and Mr. Science pictures. Thanks for the Monday summer school lessons, Prevuze. :D

Remember back in the 70's when we planned our college classes around 1:30 breaks to watch DAYS?? And every Friday they had a cliffhanger. Now with VCR's and DVR's we don't watch at all and can zip through most of it. My how times have changed. I remember when our local station moved Days to 11 AM and my husband would sit and watch with me if he wanted lunch at noon. He wouldn't watch on a bet today - or even if he wanted lunch on time. Thanks Prevuze for making my life easier. Now I can actually take a nap at 1 PM if I need to.

Thanks for that feedback. Here's something that might help you on other sites:

Tech tip: Whenever you're on a website and you think the print is too small, hold down the "Ctrl" key and at the same time press the "+" to increase the size of the font. You can do this over and over to get the font as large as you want. (Pressing the "Ctrl" and "-" keys at the same time reduces font size).

Cool tech tip! I didn't know that and could certainly use it on some sites.

Who needs the Geek Squad when Prevuze is around?

PS: word verification - waste.

What a WASTE that this is the verification word on what is basically a non-DOOL comment!!

It's funny and I personally want something for all the time I spent on this show. It would be tragic to get no enjoyment from all those hours, I could have spent studying.

Phillip jogs into the park...
YAY For leg transplants!

"I still can't believe what happened."
I suppose, 'get over it~' would be mean.

Unrelated Fun Fact - Grace's death (in the show) was on my Birthday. Huzzah! Ok, maybe not so fun.

Nathan says he'll miss having Dr. Dan around.
You've only known the man for like 3 days?!

Nate heads out and Stephanie stares.
Wow, the girl moves quick.

"Now he's acting like he's dead to me."
God forbid someone move on in this show.

"Sure," agrees Roman, "What do you need?"
Oh come on! How many times does this man fall for the same trick!?

~Kate really should just stab Chloe with dang needle, how much food has she wasted with this poison crap?

~I still think the DiMera's have Emily or will produce Emily or better yet Meredith is a Dimera. :/

Tru Dat!

Um...how do I explain this....I don't really watch the show myself (I do on very rare occasions - like when I hear the monkey's wrote an episode) but love Prevuze...tough call. Prevuze = talent, funny, witty prose. DOOL = bad storylines but great fun to make fun of.

If you don't like the heat get out of the kitchen. In other words (and forgive me Prevuze if I lose you a fan), go to an actual FAN site of the show if you don't like the sarcastic witty complaining but amazingly funny comments on Prevuze. This site is not for you.
