What Do Morals Mean To A Whore?
Preparations are underway in the hotel conference center for Kate's big Mythic presentation. She hassles the meeting planner who gives her a personal guarantee everything will be just perfect. Kate promises her she will burn in hell if things don't go well. Of course, that just means that she and Kate would be able to roast together and continue this conversation at a later, as yet undetermined, time.
Lucas comes in ranting and asking Kate how she could set Sami up again. Kate doesn't think this is the time to discuss it. Lucas does. He thought she was happy for them. Kate wants Sami to tell the truth about the night she saved Lucas.
Sami takes the surveillance disk and leaves as EJ and Billie giggle in the hallway. EJ tells her she looks lovely. Billie and EJ stammer around and try to explain why they are together – EJ was helping Billie with her moving.
EJ smiles and says, "Sami knows how helpful I can be. Right Samantha?" EJ gets a call and leaves before Sami has a chance to kill him.
Sami runs right off the rails, "Are you out of your mind? He shot John! That man is a murderer and you are flirting with him!" Billie says she was not flirting – it was a business proposal. Of course, Billie does have a history where they are one and the same.
"We both know business has nothing to do with what you are proposing," says Sami. She tucks her copy of "How to Win Friends and Influence People" under her arm.
Marlena lies in John's bed and rambles on like she has been for the past month. John's eyes flinch like two crazed pinballs, "Come to me in dreams."
Marlena dreams. The door rattles. John tells her to open the door. Marlena the zombie obeys. Bright light. John tells her he is in the light, "Cross the threshold and take my hand."
Marlena panics. She doesn't understand, "Is this heaven? Are you dead? Again? "
"Don't be scared," says John, "I'm not dead. This isn't heaven. It can't be. There aren't any drugs here. I love you. Take my hand." She takes his hand and enters.
Back to, ahem, reality. "Don't let go of my hand," says Marlena. John's eyes twitch like corn in a popper.
John and Marlena walk through the Garden of Eden. "Where is this place," says Marlena.
John says, "Everywhere... Nowhere... Between here and there... Life... death... Waking... Dreaming...
"How," asks Marlena.
"You now the answer," says John.
"Love," says Marlena.
"No," says John, "Log Cabin dialogue."
"What does that mean," asks Marlena.
"It's so sappy you could choke on it," says John.
She wants to touch him. John drones, "If I let go..."
She begs him, "Just one hand." She caresses his cheek, his hair. She feels warm. Maybe a kiss would help her know for sure. He caresses her cheek. Kiss.
Billie thinks Sami is jealous. Sami insists she is worried about Billie. Billie insists EJ is innocent of the charges. Sami makes the case against EJ. She begs Billie not to get herself hurt, "EJ was on the run the night John got shot." Billie wants to know how come Sami knows so much about this and nobody else does.
Lucas tells Kate she has to come to terms with him and Sami or that's it. He insists Sami has changed. He believes in miracles. Kate says what happened in the cabin was not a miracle. Kate says all Sami will ever do is hurt him. Kate will never stop trying. She thinks Lucas refuses to see the truth, "It's impossible Sami lifted that beam and the reenactment tape proved it. Someone else was in that cabin. She had help that night."
"Well," says Lucas, "Your ghost was there that night – you know, the Ghost of Christmas Ruined."
Lucas tells her to prove it. Kate says, "I consulted with an MIT professor AND an anthropologist who both agree she couldn't have lifted that beam." Not only that, the anthropologist certified there were no Neanderthals there that night, except Lucas."
Lucas doesn't care if Sami had help from someone. He thinks maybe it might have been some farmer who just doesn't want attention. Kate asks if he isn't curious who the help might have been. She claims Sami has a reason for keeping the helper's identity a secret, "To keep her out of jail!"
Lucas tells Kate she is out of their lives if she doesn't stop making them miserable. He stomps out.
"Damn," says Kate.
The Lord God looks down on Kate and says, "You took the words right out of my mouth."
Billie presses. She thinks EJ could be telling the truth. Sami insists EJ is not who Billie thinks he is. Billie says, "I think there is a little tiny bit of you still itchin' for EJ Wells."
EJ interrupts. Billie says they were talking about him. "I trust you have been suitably warned," says EJ.
Sami says, "She's still standing here, so it didn't work."
Billie turns to Sami, "See ya."
"Hope so," says Sami. On her way past she looks at EJ and says, "It better not be at her funeral, Elvis."
EJ invites Billie to spend the day with him. He approaches her with his hands in monster-claw position, "You think I'm the monster they make me out to be."
Billie backs him off, "If you are, I will find out – either way. I don't scare easily."
Billie reminds him she used to be a cop. She has a sixth sense. It's the first five she has a little trouble with. She can tell when people are being honest. EJ asks what she thinks about him. "Proceed with caution," says Billie, "Our professional relationship will be over if I find out you aren't what you say you are."
"What about our personal relationship," asks EJ.
"We don't have one," says Billie. Lucas walks up and watches as they argue.
Kate makes her presentation. It's a press conference for stockholders and the news media. Kate says she is addressing them as president and CEO of Mythic. An audience member asks about EJ. Kate says they share president and CEO titles.
The audience jumps all over her. They want to know if she is scaling EJ's role back. Kate says of course they aren't. They ask if the financial assets have been frozen. Kate dances around it and insists Mythic is stronger than ever.
Sami walks in as the presentation degrades into a donnybrook. Kate calls things off and decides to speak to members of the audience individually.
Sami snoops around. She walks up to the AV Tech, "Hi! You're Tim, right? Tim Bennigan?"
"Jim Finnigan," says the tech. Sami tells him someone at the front desk needs to talk to him. She convinces him it's an emergency. Jim thanks her and leaves. Sami takes out the surveillance disk.
John's ghost needs to tell Marlena something she needs to take with her when she wakes up. When she wakes up she will talk herself into the fact that this never happened.
"You're scaring me," says Marlena.
"You need to be afraid," says John, "Because this time your fear is the only thing that will keep you alive."
Marlena says, "I thought the only thing we had to fear is fear itself."
"Oh, that is so twentieth century, says John.
Billie and EJ see Lucas. They go through the same "he's helping me move" conversation they had with Sami. Lucas tells her to let him know the next time she needs help with boxes. He turns to EJ, "EJ has to move soon himself, don't you?" EJ invites him to the presentation. Lucas wants to talk to Billie in private. EJ leaves.
Billie tells Lucas she made a business proposal to EJ. Lucas tells her to forget it.
"Clear your mind," says John. A nanosecond passes. "Just trust me. Steve Johnson is in trouble. This is the part you must take with you. Steve was tortured and brainwashed by the DiMeras long ago. They stole his body. His coffin. They took it to a lab. They programmed him. They got inside his mind."
"I didn't know the DiMeras ever worked in a vacuum," says Marlena.
Dr. Tucker interrupts.
Marlena says she can't hear John. "Remember..." drones John.
Marlena begs him to stay, but she wakes up. Marlena is peeved Dr. Tucker took her away from John.
Sami exchanges the disks in the player.
Jim comes back and asks Sami what that was all about. There was no call for him at the front desk. Sami says she was sure it was for Tim Bennigan. He reminds her he is Jim Finnigan. Sami apologizes and starts to leave but bumps into EJ. He says, "I am on to you, young lady."
Billie says EJ was just helping her move. Lucas mocks her, "EJ has you snowed. You are in a ten foot snowdrift looking to get plowed."
Billie goes wide-eyed, "That's gross!" They argue about EJ.
Lucas says he loves her. And that's why he cares. "Well," says Billie, "I am a big girl and I am not going to get plowed! Now, if you'll excuse me I have to go help EJ. He said something about laying some pipe."
EJ knows Sami is there to support Mythic. She tells him to stop it. EJ says she looks a little green around the gills. Sami isn't surprised with him around. She insists she has never been better. She bumps him as she runs out. Billie comes in. EJ thinks she looks beautiful, "A wise woman is the type of woman I find most attractive, but I'll make an exception for now."
EJ thinks it's strange Sami would leave. He thinks she might be up to something. Billie gasps sarcastically. She can't imagine Sami would be up to something.
Sami sneaks. She watches as Kate gets to the "film."
The reporters ask EJ if he will take questions, "Your contract was canceled due to a long list of legal problems. Would you care to comment?"
Marlena says she knows dreams can seem real. She says this wasn't an ordinary dream. Dr. Tucker says a Dr. Brady-Johnson called to let Marlena know Steve had signed himself in.
John's alter-ego chimes in, "Steve he was tortured and brainwashed."
Dr. Tucker says Dr. Johnson was hoping Marlena could look in on Steve. Marlena agrees.
Dr. Tucker leaves. Marlena begs John to finish whatever it was he was telling her. John vegetates.
EJ tells the hoards his contract expired. He says they are working hard to overcome the damage that has been done to his reputation. Kate calls off the bottom feeding. She says her association with EJ honors her, "Mythic is committed to doing business by strict moral guidelines." She says as they watch the film they will understand what EJ and she have in mind for the company. The show begins. "OMG," gasps Kate.
EJ and Kate maul each other on the screen. Billie covers her face. Sami sneers.
Marlena tells John this is their secret. She felt the warmth of his hand on her skin. There was a summer breeze, with the scent of cow manure wafting through the pasture. It was real – the cow manure part, anyway. Marlena will never deny it. She needs him to come back to her, "I love you so much. Please don't leave me."
John's eyes vibrate like a runaway jackhammer.
EJ and Kate steam up the room. Gasps abound.
Billie freaks, "You slept with my mother? Are you crazy?"
Sami steps up to rub it in, "There you have it. Mythic's partners and founders boldly holding up their company's strict moral guidelines." She turns to Kate, "Wow, Kate, what do morals mean to a whore?"
Kate drops her jaw as we pan to the X-rated show.Previews

Belle tells Shawn, "I don't want to draw attention to ourselves, but we need to call the ship's doctor." Shawn says "OK," as he turns to leave.
Kayla says, "You committed yourself for two weeks, remember?" Patch says, "No way. I need to get out of here today, Kayla."
Sami tells Billie, "If she wants a war, she can have one. Kate won't win."
EJ strokes Patch, who is tied down on a gurney with electrodes stuck to his head, and says, "You're one of us now, Steve." Patch wiggles, chokes and cries.

GO SAMI! I love a Kate roast!
Good for Sami!! She so seldom is allowed to get one-up on Kate-the-snake.
LOL at all the pictures and loved the descriptions of John's eye movements - crazed pinballs....corn in a popper...runnaway jackhammer...my stomach just at the mention of the "Garden of Eden". (I immediately flashed back to that God-awful storyline of a few years ago.)
Log Cabin dialoge for sure!
Finally! Something fun happens and Kate gets a taste of her own medicine. Good for Sami.
Loved the pics and Prevuisms today.
On the other hand
"Everywhere...nowhere...between here and there...life...death...waking...dreaming..." Are you serious? I kept reaching for a bucket reading through the John/Marlena dialogue. A true barf-o-rama.
ROFLMAO at Oprah and Dave.
Now, if you'll excuse me I have to go help EJ. He said something about laying some pipe.
LOLOLOL
Billie is such a perv. Lucas says she's going to get "plowed" and she says "Gross!" I wasn't thinking THAT kind of plow until I read that...LMAO
Maybe I found a like-mind..... ah...maybe not, my husband has been throug puberty... :-)
