Once again there was no Daze feed today. In the absence of the show, sources say writers are working at a feverish pace on a new plot line: For the next 20 years, they will place a stationary camera in Mimi’s jail cell so we can spend every minute of the show watching her sit and stare at the walls. It will be some of the most fast-paced action ever on DOOL.

No Feed Today
There was no DOOL feed this morning since NBC will pre-empt the show on Thursday and Friday due to Wimbledon coverage. Rest assured, the writers continue to hone their skills so when the show returns they will be better prepared to drag every plot line out ad-nauseum.
So please join us on Friday morning when, among other things, we can watch the beginning of Shawn and Belle’s long journey to re-reunite, now that Belle has chosen Phillip over Shawn. By the time this one is resolved, we’ll all be so old we’ll think of Alice Horton as a kid.

Shawnfrontation
Bo, Hope and Zach are in the living room. Bo and Zach are playing with Zach’s monster trucks. Hope wants to call Germany before they start the video. Bo thinks that’s a bad idea.
John is on the phone with Marlena, “Yeah,” I miss you, too, “It was good I came here with Belle and Kate because I could pull a few strings. Yeahyeahyeah, I do have connections everywhere but in this case it paid off and I fixed it so Phillip can do his rehab in Salem. It’s not all good news, though. Shawn Brady showed up unannounced. He’s put a lot of pressure on our daughter and right now that is the last thing she needs.”
Meanwhile back in Phillip’s room it’s decision time. Phil and Shawn argue over who’s going to get Belle and who loves her and who horned in, yada, yada, yada. Belle yells, “Stop it! Both of you! I’ve made my decision if you can stop arguing long enough to hear it.”
“Chhlllooooeeee,” screams Brady. Nicole pulls down the curtain on the Titan jet.
“Nicole,” says Chloe, “Do something. There is no way I can let him see me like this.”
Bo and Hope argue about why Shawn went to Germany. Hope thinks he went there to support Belle. Bo thinks he went there to horn in. Bo makes a case for sanity. Hope makes a case for true love. “Belle is the only one who can solve this,” says Bo.
On and on we go in the room of doom. Shawn tells Belle she doesn’t have to make this decision right now if it’s going to stress her out. Phillip says he wants to know right now. Shawn and Phillip go at it again. Belle bawls as the boys argue.
“One of you is going to be hurt, because one of you has to spend the rest of his life listening to me whine and I’m sorry about that,” whimpers Belle, “I really am. Whether or not you believe it, I love both of you. But I can’t be with both of you the way each of you wants. I’m sorry Shawn.”
Shawn chokes, “You cannot just think of Phillip right now. You have to think of your future.”
“I love him,” says Belle, “and we’re going to spend our lives together. You just have to accept that.”
“Like hell I will. I will never accept that,” squeals Shawn.
Chloe and Nicole have apparently done a flying-leap barrel roll off the plane as it taxied and are down at the end of the runway. Brady says, “Chloe?”
“Yes,” says the sinister hooded figure, “It’s me.”
“I knew it,” yells Brady as he rushes through the gate toward her.
“No,” she yells, “Stay away from me.” Nicole cowers in the background behind a crate.
Phillip tells Shawn to back off. More arguing between the guys. Shawn says the love he and Belle have is the kind of love people build their lives on. Phillip says what Shawn is doing is wrong and Belle has said she loves him.
“I told you not to come here,” cries Belle, “But you didn’t listen. You came anyway.”
“Are you punishing me for disobeying you? Is that what this is about?”
“You pushed the situation,” says Belle.
“Just tell Phillip the truth,” says Shawn, “Tell him we love each other and want to spend all the Days Of Our Lives together.”
“I can’t do that. Phillip is the man I’m going to be with,” says Belle.
Brady approaches Chloe. She says, “Brady, you never should have stopped me. I was running away from you.”
“I will never believe that,” says Brady, “Nicole is behind this, isn’t she?” Nicole, get out here right now! I want to talk to you!” Nicole comes out from behind the crate. “I don’t know what your game is. It’s no secret you didn’t want Chloe and me to be together. You lied to me! You’ve known for months Chloe was alive and you did everything in your power to keep her away from me, didn’t you?”
“All right,” screams Nicole, “It’s true. I did know Chloe was alive.”
Hope tells Bo, “You are right. It is up to Belle to choose.”
“I just want our son to get what he wants,” says Bo, “He’s just going about it wrong.”
“You really think Belle’s going to stay with Phillip?”
“She married the guy,” says Bo, “She’s gotta love him. Let’s not fight anymore. I almost think we’ve lost sight of why we’re together.”
“Why don’t you remind me,” says Hope. They kiss as Zach ruins the furniture with his monster truck in the background.
“Chloe wouldn’t let me tell you she was alive,” cries Nicole.
“Chloe wouldn’t do that to me,” says Brady, “She loves me too much. I don’t know how you got Nancy to go along with this – OMG, the fake memorial service!”
“Nancy hates me,” says Nicole, “How can you blame me for this?”
“I don’t blame you,” says Brady, “I blame myself for thinking you had changed. The truth is you’re still the same lying, conniving, manipulative person you’ve always been.” Nicole cries. Chloe cries.
Belle cries. Shawn tells her she’s too upset to make this decision. Belle tells him she has made her decision and will stand firm.
“Belle,” says Phillip, “are you sure?” I wouldn’t press it too much, soldier. “If you are going to change your mind, this is the time. We can consider this a second set of wedding vows. I know they meant a lot the first time, what with the flying motorcycles and everything, but considering everything that’s happened, they may mean more now. Are you ready to commit to me now? Because the decision you make – the three of us will have to live with for the rest of our lives.”
“I have made the right decision,” says Belle, “Please go home Shawn.”
As he leaves, Shawn turns and says, “I love you. I always will.” Belle turns on the waterworks.
“I think Shawn’s stuck in second gear,” says John, “He keeps making the same mistakes over and over again with Belle, like flying over here. I don’t know if he thinks she is going to dump Phillip but it would surprise the hell out of me if she did. I will call as soon as I find out when we are leaving.” He hangs up and bumps into the crazed Shawn. “Hey, easy boy.”
“Back off,” says Shawn, “Unless you’re looking for a fight.”
Ho and Dope smooch. Hope says, “Two years ago, this would have been Zach’s bedtime. And ours two.”
“Thing is,” says Bo, “if we went to bed now, you’d miss my surprise.”
“Surprise,” she smiles. Bo runs out the front door.
John backs off, “Hheeeyyyy, I’m not looking for a fight. Why... OMG! She dumped your ass, didn’t she? She chose Phillip!”
“It shouldn’t be this way,” says Belle, “You shouldn’t be comforting me. Let’s not talk about Shawn. Can I do anything for you?”
“You just did it,” says Phillip, “I have said prayer after prayer that I could come home to you. I want you to be honest with me. Living with a husband without a leg isn’t going to be easy. You need a husband who can dance with you. It seems like everyone remembers you and Shawn dancing at the last blast.”
“That was a lifetime ago. We were kids. We need to get you to bed. I’ll call a nurse. Can I stay and watch? I want to know how to do things when we get home.” Belle wheels him over to the bed. She turns and stares at Shawn’s vapor trail.
Nicole begs Chloe to tell Brady the truth. Chloe hoods her face and says, “Everything was my decision, Brady, my fault. I forced my mother and Nicole to go along with my plan.” Brady grimaces.
Bo runs back in. Hope asks, “Is that blue paint on your shirt?”
“Yeah,” says Bo, “It’s part of the surprise.”
“You’re not gonna tell me, are you,” says Hope. Bo picks up Zach and uses him as a shield, “Protect me. Always keep ‘em guessing. It’s the secret to a happy marriage.”
“Chloe would never do that to me unless she was forced,” says Brady, “for once, take responsibility for your own actions.”
“Everything that’s happened,” says Chloe, “I am responsible for.”
“Now do you believe me,” asks Nicole.
“I believe Chloe is a generous, innocent and honest person who was tricked into going along with your scheme.” We’ll take that as a ‘no.’ “Things didn’t work out with you and my grandfather, so I was your next logical victim. Did you really love my grandfather?”
“What does that have to do with this,” asks Nicole.
“Because a woman who marries a man for his money will stop at nothing to get what she wants. You forced Nancy and Chloe into all of this.”
John tells Shawn he brought this on himself, “When you were gone last summer, Belle had a chance to see if she could fall for a different kind of guy.” An adult.
“I loved her with all my heart.”
“I believe you,” says John, “That’s why it’s going to be hard for you to let her go, but she’s married to Phillip.”
“She married him on the rebound,” says Shawn, “She’s playing on his sympathy.”
“Don’t you dare,” says John, “underestimate my daughter’s intelligence.” Impossible. “What my daughter needs is a man, not someone who flies off the handle or flies through stained glass windows when they don’t get what they want. She needs a man with true courage, quiet strength. She needs Phillip. Hard to accept? Oh, yeah. But you gotta do it.”
“I can’t turn my feelings on and off just like that,” says Shawn, “She is my life.”
“You’re young, Shawn. You’ll find love again,” says the old sage.
“I’m gonna follow my heart.”
John threatens, “Interfere with my daughter’s life and you will answer to me, kid.”
“Let me ask you something,” says Shawn, “You want your daughter to be happy? Well, she’s not. She’s being noble and self-sacrificing because people like you are telling her staying with Phillip is the right thing to do when, in reality, she does not love him.”
“You are so selfish you can’t even see past your own needs,” says John.
“So am I supposed to put Phillip’s needs ahead of mine?”
“No,” says John, “Belle’s. You have convinced yourself that she needs you to be happy. Well you are wrong!” Shawn stares.
Belle straightens out the covers over the spot where Phillip’s leg is missing, “Did I hurt you when I put you in the bed?”
“No, the nurses drop me on my head all the time, too.”
“I can go if you want me to,” she says.
“Maybe just for a little while,” says Phillip, “I’m going to try to get some sleep.” Besides, this will give you a chance to have a big confrontation with Shawn. Belle leaves. Phillip winces in pain and grabs his phantom leg.
“If you won’t listen to me,” cries Nicole, “then let Chloe tell you why she pretended to be dead. Tell him, Chloe, or are you going to let me take the fall for the choices you made?”
“Get outta here, Nicole,” says Brady, “Take your stuff and get the hell out of the mansion and don’t be there when I get back. If you are there when I get back, I’m going to sell the damn mansion and leave you homeless.” Oh, that’s intelligent. The average IQ in Salem rivals the dog pound. “I am an idiot for taking this long to realize how hateful you are. What part of ‘get outta my life’ did you not understand? Don’t call me, don’t write me, I don’t wanna see you anywhere, ever again, you selfish bitch.”
Nicole runs off blubbering. “Chloe,” says Brady, “You don’t have to be afraid. Nicole doesn’t have power over you any more. I love you very much. Please, just let me hold you.”
“No,” cries Chloe, “I meant it, stay away from me.”
“Why,” asks Brady, “Don’t you want to be with me anymore?” Chloe stares through the bandages.
Bo runs downstairs and tells hope they have to pack Zach’s things. He’s arranged for him to spend the night with Doug and Julie. Hope goes up to get Zach’s things together as Bo and Zach hi-five.
Shawn tells John sooner or later Belle with figure out she loves him and not Phillip and then it will be harder on Phillip, “She is making the biggest mistake of her life.”
“Now you’re getting it,” says John, “HER life. Her biggest mistake, would have been choosing you.”
“Go to hell,” Shawn storms off.
Nicole bawls as she watches Brady and Chloe, “As soon as he sees her hideous scars, he will know she was lying to him and come back to me.”
Brady tells Chloe, “Nicole is gone. She threatened you. That’s one of her specialties. I’m not exactly proud of falling for her and being unfaithful to our love, even though you were dead, I was just so lonely. I thought I would never see you again in this lifetime and it was just so hard to accept. All of that is over now and you’re gonna have to talk to me.”
“You already know the truth,” says Chloe, “Nicole told you the truth. Right now, I was leaving Salem forever.”
Brady cries, it’s the crying Olympics today, “Does that mean you don’t want to be with me?” Chloe stares.
Heather comes in to see Phillip. She’s the amputee who can relate to him. She has a fulfilling life now and he can too. She brought him a leg. It’s hairy, just like his. He’s touched.
Belle stirs her tea. Here it is. The big Shawnfrontation. “You lied to Phillip. You told him you were going to spend the rest of your life with him.”
“I am.”
“Like hell you are,” says Shawn, “You are in love with me.”
FF on Belle.

Love 'Em And Leave 'Em
Abby answers the doorbell. Jennifer comes up and we have the happy reunion with Frankie. Patrick looks confused. Jack swipes off his hat. Introductions all around. Wheeeeee!
Frankie acts surprised Max is in town, too.
“Wow,” says Max, “You are not a kid. You are a hot and sexy woman.” Chelsea broods. “Are you upset about what we just did?” Chelsea gives him a look.
Rex tires to convince Mimi this doesn’t have to be it for them. “Yes it does,” says Mimi, “I just got sentenced to 15 – 20. We aren’t gong to have the life we dreamed about.”
“I wanna be with you,” says Rex, “I don’t care how long we have to wait.”
“You deserve better,” says Mimi, “You have to move on without me. Let’s just get this over with and say goodbye.”
“My reasons for coming to save you were mostly selfish,” says Shawn, “I thought if I could bring you home Belle and I would have a chance.”
“We are married,” says Phillip.
“You shouldn’t be,” says Shawn, “I love her. I have never stopped loving her.”
“At least you’re finally admitting it,” says Phillip.
“All our cards are on the table, Belle,” says Shawn. A couple of Jokers.
Belle turns on him and snaps, “How could you? How could you do this to Phillip? Phillip has been through hell already. He's been married to me.”
Phillip says, “It’s OK honey. Let me understand, Shawn. You wanted to bring me home so you could make your move. Then you came here because you couldn’t wait any longer. Am I right? You wont’ believe this but I understand what you are doing. In fact I agree with it.”
“So you’re ready to just let her go,” asks Shawn.
“How good can my life be if you’re not in it,” says Rex, “Where will I find someone who will whine at me all the time? You’re innocent. I just wish you’d tell me the real reason you plead guilty but I’ll have to figure it out myself.”
“No,” says Mimi, “You can’t.”
Jennifer thinks Frankie is being the protective older brother for Max. Patrick points out Max and Chelsea have been away quite a while.
Marlena makes the understatement of the century, “A lot has changed since you’ve been here last.”
“Yeah,” says Frankie, “Many of you were presumed dead.”
“We are not going anywhere for a very long time,” says Jennifer, “Isn’t that right Jack?” Jack stares. Jack flashes back to telling Marlena.
Frankie says, “I envy you Jack. You have a great home and a wonderful family. What more could you want?”
Jack says, “To live long enough to enjoy it.”
Frankie tells Jennifer she’s living the American dream. “I envy you,” he repeats.
“So,” says Jack, “fess up, everyone here wants to know, are you married?”
“No,” says Frankie, “I’m not married. I met the right woman a long time ago. It wasn’t meant to be.”
“Lucky for me,” says Jack.
Abby asks Maggie, “Frankie has family here. Don’t you think it’s weird he came here first.”
“Not really,” says Maggie, “We thought your mom and Frankie were going to get married.”
Frankie says he’s really happy for Jack and Jen, “You must be happy you’ll get to see your son grow up.”
“Lets talk about you,” says Jack, “what do you do for a living?”
“Oh, just like everyone else in Salem, I never really go to work, but when I do, I’m a lawyer. We take on jobs like graft, mail fraud, identity theft. And, unlike Mickey, I’ve actually won a case or two.” Patrick stares.
Frankie adds, “And my little brother enjoys life in the fast lane. He likes to push the limits.”
“Are you cool with what we just did,” asks Max.
“Yeah, we didn’t really have sex, right, just made out,” says Chelsea.
Max asks, “Anyone tell you you’re a great kisser? If you want to go further any time...”
“I’m saving myself,” says Chelsea.
“For the guy you said you were after? I’m not into relationships,” says Max.
“We should be getting back,” says Chelsea.
Jack leaves to make Frankie a burger.
Frankie tells Jennifer Jack is a great guy. She’s lucky. She’s so happy to see him. When she was in high school she was miserable but then she met him.
“Quite a pair,” says Alice.
Flashback to high school. Faucet emergency. Shirtless Frankie. Candlelight. Dancing. Romancing. “Please tell me you’re going to stay in Salem for a little while,” says Jennifer.
“I haven’t made any plans yet,” says Frankie, “First, I have to track down Max.” Jennifer invites him to stay with them. Jack comes in and tells Frankie he and Max can, “crash, no pun intended, in the garage.”
Abby asks Jack if he is jealous of Jennifer and Frankie. Jack insists he isn’t. “It’s weird to think of mom with someone else – ever,” says Abby. Jack has a quizzical look. Abby leaves.
Marlena comes up to Jack and says, “Tell Jennifer the truth about your condition.”
Jack says, “I can’t.”
Jennifer introduces Patrick and Frankie.
“Lockhart,” says Frankie, “Your name sounds familiar.”
“Maybe it was in your work,” says Jack, “You know, working with grifters, con men.”
Max and Chelsea finally get back.
“Hey bro,” says Max, “What’s up.”
“I dunno, you tell me.”
Abby drags Chelsea out for a blow-by-blow.
“We stopped by the lake,” says Chelsea.
“Noooooo waaaaaay. What happened?”
“He parked the car and we started kissing,” says Chelsea, “I could tell he wanted to have sex.”
“Did you,” asks Abby.
Maggie tells Marlena Mickey didn’t come because he is staying with Bonnie. Mimi was sentenced to 15-20. Patrick is listening and about has a heart attack.
“You have to forget about me,” says Mimi.
Big Bertha interrupts, “Time's up.”
“I’m coming back,” says Rex.
“No,” says Mimi, “I never want to see you again. Besides, I'll be somebody else's bitch in prison.”
Phillip says, “I think you misunderstood. If I were you I would want Belle back too. The only thing that has changed is you have stopped lying about my wife. I’m glad it’s out in the open. The question is, Belle, how do you feel? Who do you want to spend your future with, me or Shawn?” Belle’s head spins.
Chelsea says they didn’t go that far, “I said I was saving myself for Patrick.” She whispers to Abby.
Abby drops her jaw, “You what?!”
Frankie grills Max, “I hope nothing sexual happened with her. You could get in trouble.”
“Frankie, she’s 18.”
Frankie says, “We know you’re the love 'em and leave ‘em type.”
“You loved Jennifer and left her,” says Max.
Jack speculates Frankie can help him nail Lockhart.
Jennifer tells him to give it a rest.
Patrick has reached Bonnie’s voice mail, “Mom, how come nobody told me Mimi was getting sentenced today? She’ll never survive Statesville. Call me.”
“Find another woman to love and have a family,” says Mimi.
“You are the only one I will ever love,” says Rex. They kiss. “Never forget how much I love you.” On his way out, Rex turns and takes one final look at Mimi, then leaves.
“It’s over, Meems,” she says to herself, “That’s the last time you will ever see Rex.”
Mimi broods in jail, “Come on Mimi, get a grip. You can do this.” She calls the guard, “Is there any way I can refuse to see a visitor?”
“It’s your choice,” bellows Bertha.
Mimi says, “So if I give you a name...”
“Yep.”
“Will you put Rex Brady’s name on the list,” asks Mimi.
Rex has instantly teleported back to his apartment. Patrick is at the door, “What the hell’s up with Mimi?”
Rex says, “It doesn’t surprise me your mom didn’t tell you. I wish I knew what was going on. She got the maximum sentence. I know she’s innocent but she won’t fight.”
“Fine,” says Patrick, “We'll fight for her.”
Rex suggests, “Let’s work together on this.”
Phillip asks Belle again. Belle looks at Shawn. Phillip grabs her hand, “I know we’re putting you on the spot. Before you decide I want to tell you I love you. We know I’m not the same man you married.”
“Of course you are, Phillip,” says Belle.
“I lost my leg,” says Phillip, “I won’t be able to do all the things I promised you I would do. Your life will never be the same but I will love you just as much if not more. I will always love you. Can you love me as I am now or would you rather be free to be with Shawn?” Belle stares.
Belle is slient. Phillip rambles. History lesson. Belle twirls her wedding ring.
“You must miss John and Belle terribly now,” says Maggie.
“I do,” says Marlena, “But Shawn is Belle’s one true love.”
“And they belong together,” says Maggie, “First love, true love.”
Marlena flashes back to the love nest, “Relationships are so complicated.”
“I’d much rather not have to compete for my love with another woman,” says Maggie.
Jack wants Lockhart out of their lives.
“He left without saying goodbye,” says Jennifer, “Maybe we can go set up the garage apartment for Max and Frankie.”
“Yeah,” says Jack, “I think they would be an improvement.”
“Why did you follow me to Salem? Are you checking up on me,” asks Max.
Frankie says, “When I heard you were coming back here I knew it was only a matter of time before you got yourself into trouble. And I was right.”
“I can’t believe it,” says Abby.
“God, Abby,” says Chelsea, “It isn’t like having sex. Everybody does it.”
“Not me,” says Abby.
Chelsea says, “What is this really about? Are you jealous of me?”
“No,” says Abby, “I’m not jealous. What you and Max did was disgusting. I’ve heard other girls at school talk about that, and it is way more than making out.”
Frankie doesn’t want Max to hurt any of these good people. Max wants Frankie to get off his back.
Jennifer talks Max and Frankie into staying for just one night.
Jack asks Marlena, “Now what am I gonna do. How am I gonna tell her I’m dying?”
Big Bertha tells Mimi it isn't gong to get any better.
“I know,” says Mimi, “I just said goodbye to the man I thought I was gong to spend the rest of my life with. Now I’ll never see him again.”
Rex and Patrick huddle over the computer. Ooooooooo! Rex has created a timeline. That'll crack the case.
Shawn says he can’t just turn his feelings on and off, “I don’t care if you don’t understand because Belle does.”
“When I was away at war,” says Phillip, “you were after my wife. That ends now. Belle, when I asked you to choose before, you chose me. Now that we know what Jan did, maybe you feel different. I will give you a divorce if that’s what you want. Whatever you choose you know I still love you. If you love someone enough you should be willing to set them free. It’s up to you. What do you want?
Belle. Shawn. Belle. FF.

“I knew it,” says Brady as he runs toward the hooded figure, “I knew you’d come back to me.” The figure says, “Stay away from me!” Nicole hides in the background.
Hope says, “It better be good, Brady.” Zack is sitting on Bo’s lap, “It’s gonna be a great surprise, huh?” Zack says, “Yeah,” as they high-five.
“One of you is going to be hurt and I’m sorry about that,” whimpers Belle, “I really am.”

Gentlemen, Start Your Engines
The party continues at the Devereaux home. Alice and Maggie have joined us. Marlena is at the door. Jack asks if they can talk later. “Of course,” says Marlena.
Hugs all around. Jennifer asks about news from Germany and Marlena gives them the scoop. They talk about Max. Everyone wonders what is taking them so long. Abby says, “The way Chelsea came on to Max I hope she’s not doing something stupid.”
Chelsea balks. She tells Max, “I think you’re getting the wrong idea about me. We shouldn’t go any further.”
“That’s cool,” he says, “Lets’ go get the ice cream. Oh, man. I just read you all wrong. You’re beautiful. I thought you wanted to have a good time but I guess not.”
“Please don’t get in over your head Chelsea,” says Abby.
Jack tells Jennifer he wants Lockhart gone. Jennifer goes to talk to Patrick.
Patrick packs. Oops, packed all his shirts I guess. Jennifer says, “It’s been wonderful having you here. You’ve been a tremendous help.”
“I hope we can remain friends,” says Patrick.
“I don’t see why not.”
“You husband doesn’t want me near you,” he says.
Jennifer slips and falls into Patrick’s arms. Of course, Jack walks in at this very moment, “Get your hands off my wife.”
Bonnie asks Mickey if there is something he can do.
Mickey reminds her, “Mimi fired me.”
“Which,” says Mimi, “is exactly why I didn’t want anyone here today. Thank God Rex isn’t here.” Rex walks in. Is this show predictable or what.
Kate tees off on Shawn, “I told you to get out.”
Shawn says, “I have to tell Phillip the truth.”
“Like hell you do,” says Kate, “At least listen to Belle. John get him out of here.”
“I’m sorry Kate. I agree with Shawn,” says John.
Kate says, “How can you say that?”
“You can’t keep protecting Phillip,” says John, “I think you’re underestimating your son. He can deal with this.”
Kate says, “He just lost a leg. He needs our support.”
“He’s a marine,” says John, “He’s tough as nails. They need to talk this out right now.” Kate and John go outside to talk alone.
John says, “Phillip will really be hurt if he finds out his mother and wife have been lying to him.”
“I’ve come to count on you,” says Kate, “I'm counting on you now. Please get Shawn out before Phillip comes back.”
Shawn says to Belle, “I have to talk to Phillip. I have to do it today. If I get back on that plane I will lose you forever.”
Jack goes berserk. Jennifer tries to explain. Jack says, “The guy is half naked. He’s conning you.”
Patrick chimes in, “Don’t take it out on Jennifer.”
“Don’t tell me how to behave with my wife,” says Jack, “Go put your shirt on.” Patrick leaves.
Jennifer says, “I understand you don’t like him but he was a tremendous help to me while you were gone.”
“I hate the idea he was here taking my place,” says Jack.
Jennifer insists, “He was not taking your place. Patrick is moving out. I promise you that.” Jack flashes back to Lexie giving him the death sentence. He hugs Jennifer.
“What’s wrong, Jack,” she asks.
“I just need to kiss my wife that’s all.”
Jennifer tells him, “You have no idea how happy I am to have you home and have a family again.”
“Nobody knows how much I appreciate a family,” says Jack.
“We have so much to look forward to,” says Jennifer.
Rex is there because he loves Mimi and is not giving up on her.
Judge Karen Fitzpatrick makes her grand entrance, “I have reviewed the DA’s recommendation and the letters from family and friends. After due deliberation I have made my decision. Will the defendant please rise.”
Patrick talks to Bonnie's voice mail, “I’m worried about Mimi.” Abby comes out. She tells Patrick she’s worried about Chelsea.
Patrick says, “Chelsea seemed pretty impressed with that guy. I’m sure she insisted on taking the long way home so everyone can see her with Max Brady.”
“I hope that’s all they are doing,” says Abby.
Chelsea asks herself, “What is my problem? I’m with Max Brady. I’m acting like some 12 year old.” Max comes back with the ice cream. They have to get back before it melts.
“We’re cool, right,” he asks.
“We’re cool,” she says, “Wait, before we go, there’s something I want to ask. It’s kind of personal.”
Jennifer asks Abby, “No Max and Chelsea yet?”
“No.”
Jennifer says, “I guess he’s doesn’t drive so fast after all.”
“I’ll bet he’s fast,” says Abby.
The group talks about Jennifer and Frankie Brady, “It was completely innocent she says.” She turns to Abby, “Which is the way it’s supposed to be in high school, remember that.”
Maggie asks, “Didn’t Max have emotional problems.” HA! Was he from Salem? Why waste your breath asking?
“He didn't speak,” says Marlena, “When he moved in with Shawn and Caroline, he found his voice.”
Jennifer and Abby talk about how great it is to have Jack back. Jennifer is never letting him leave again.
Marlena goes out with Jack. He tells her he’s dying. She doesn’t know what to say. He hasn’t told Jennifer. He can’t.
He doesn’t know how he got this rare blood disease, “I’m sorry for laying this on you but I have to talk to somebody. The thought of getting back is what kept me going.”
Marlena says, “There were times I almost gave up hope, but I didn’t. You can’t give up either. You have to start by telling Jennifer the truth.”
“No,” says Jack, “It will break their hearts. I’m not going to tell them for as long as possible.”
“You’re making a terrible mistake,” says Marlena.
The judge lectures Mimi, “I take no pleasure in sentencing you. Two young lives have been destroyed.” Fifteen to twenty. As Mimi faints, Bonnie yells, “You can’t do that! My daughter’s innocent.”
Mickey catches Mimi as the judge yells, “Order in the court.” How about sanity in the court?.
Belle just can’t do this to Phillip.
John thinks he and Kate need to stay out of this thing. All Kate wants him to do is stop Shawn from adding to the pain, “Just get him out of the room before Phillip comes back.” John walks in and offers to yank Phillip out.
“How many ways do we have to say it, you are not wanted here,” says Kate.
Phillip wheels in. He tells Shawn, “I’d like you to stay. I have some questions about you and my wife.” I’ll bet this is a fresh discussion we’ve never heard before.
Staredown.
Chelsea asks Max how many girlfriends he has had.
“A lot,” he says.
She asks, “Too many to count? Any of them serious?”
“No,” he says, “How about you? Have you found the right guy?”
“There is this one guy,” says Chelsea, “He doesn’t know I exist.”
“He must be blind,” says Max.
“He’s just older. But I’m not a kid. I’m 18. Keep going straight. Drive to the end of the road.”
Max says, “This dead-ends at the lake – the place they used to call The Petting Zoo.”
“It’s still called that,” says Chelsea.
Jack shows Marlena pictures, “If they can hold on to that happiness I’ll know I’ve done the right thing.”
Marlena says, “Jennifer loves you so. Don’t you think you owe it to her to tell her?”
“She’s been through hell the last year,” says Jack, “She’s just coming out of it. I don’t want to spoil that right now.”
Marlena asks, “What if she loses you and is not prepared? Do you have any idea what that would do to her?”
Mimi comes to, “I just had the worst nightmare. OMG! It’s real!”
Mickey asks the judge to reconsider. Mimi has no prior. The judge took that into consideration. She asks Mimi for a statement.
Never without words or tears, Mimi says she never meant to hurt anyone. Mimi says goodbye but the guards pull her away. Rex says he will always love her.
Phillip says he and Shawn are going to have a man-to-man.
Shawn says, “When I organized the rescue mission I did it for Belle. I wanted her back.”
Marlena continues to work on Jack. If he doesn’t tell Jennifer it will just add to the pain. She has a right to know.
“I’m trying to protect them,” says Jack, “If I could just come back as a guardian angel it would be OK if I died. I sound ridiculous don’t I?”
“No,” says Marlena, “You sound like a man who loves his family. The longer you keep this from your family, the harder it will be to tell them.” So, why would it hurt more to break their hearts next month instead of this month?
Mimi’s in the slammer. She cries, “What am I gonna do.” Big Bertha tells her she has a visitor. It’s Rex.
Jack brings in the burgers. Jennifer drags Patrick over. Tension between Jack and Patrick. Jack serves the burgers. Abby worries about Jack and Chelsea.
Jennifer says, “They will be here soon.”
Alice reminds Jennifer she and Frank missed many picnics.
Max stops the car, “Why are we here?”
“Why do you think?”
“The ice cream will melt,” says Max.
“Not that fast,” says Chelsea, “It’s cold and I’m not. I’m not a kid and I know exactly what I am doing.”
Mickey tells Bonnie not to lose heart, “I am going to try some way to get Mimi out of this mess. If only she hadn’t plead guilty. When children grow up we can’t always protect them.”
Bonnie says, “I need you so much. Promise you will never leave me. Mimi doesn’t deserve this.” Hug.
“Ten minutes,” yells Big Bertha.
Mimi tells Rex he shouldn’t have come there, “You can’t hold me any more. This is the last time we will see each other.”
Phillip asks Kate and John to leave.
“If Belle and Shawn break his heart I will never forgive them,” Kate tells John.
Shawn explains why he came to rescue Phillip.
Phillip reminds him, “Belle and I are married.”
“You shouldn’t be because I love her,” says Shawn, “I won’t apologize for wanting her back.”
Max asks Chelsea, “Are you sure you want to do this?” Chelsea says, “Don’t I look sure?” Gentlemen, start your engines.
Cleanup at the Devereaux house. Alice left room for ice cream. Jennifer hopes she will settle for brownies. Doorbell. Frankie shows up. Jennifer is ecstatic.
FF on Jennifer hugging Frankie.

“Why did you follow me to Salem? Are you checking up on me,” says Max. Frankie says, “When I heard you were coming back here I knew it was only a matter of time before you got yourself into trouble. And I was right.”
Chelsea says to Abby, “What is this really about? Are you jealous of me?”
Marlena says, “Tell Jennifer the truth about your condition.” Jack says, “I can’t”
Phillip asks Belle, “Who do you want to spend your future with, me or Shawn?” Belle turns and looks at Shawn.

It's Not A Threat – It's A Promise
The big Salem 500 pre-race festivities are in full swing.
“Patrick Lockhart is no friend,” says Jack. He pulls Patrick aside, “After I warned you, you show up here.”
“Pure coincidence,” says Patrick, “You’re starting to sound a little paranoid.”
“You stay away from my wife, you stay away from my family,” says Jack.
“Or what,” asks Patrick.
“Or I kill you,” says Jack.
Phillip asks, “Is that why you are here, to steal my wife?”
“You gotta be kidding me,” says Shawn, “I came because of Belle.”
“Finally the truth comes out,” says Phillip.
Chloe and Nicole are on the plane. Chloe worries Brady will find out she is alive. Nicole reassures her.
Brady grills Nancy. Nancy says, “Brady, you know where Chloe is, you saw her ashes.”
Brady says, “I don’t know whose ashes those were but they sure weren’t Chloe’s. She’s alive isn’t she? You have to tell me where she is.”
Patrick says he ran into Abby and Chelsea on the way to his seat. Jack suggests he could have just told them he wanted to sit in his own seat. So Patrick goes over and says he’s going to his seat rather than sit with the group. They all insist. Jennifer tells Jack, “I know how you feel about Patrick. But the girls look at him as an uncle.”
“I don’t trust him,” says Jack.
“But I do.”
“The fact is,” says Jack, “he was working for Tony and he probably still is.”
Jennifer reminds him, “He delivered our son on that island while I was prisoner.”
“He was there to make you gratified to him while he was still working for Tony,” says Jack.
Jennifer says, “I believe people can change. I almost lost you twice.” And somehow, she works in, “What about your kidney transplant with Steve?”
Jack says, “It’s been so many years since Steve has been gone.” Well, heck, he should be back any minute, then.
“Jack,” says Jennifer, “all I’m saying is it’s our turn to be happy. I will never take our time together for granted.” What does this have to do with Patrick?
“All right,” says Jack, “he can stay.”
Jennifer asks Patrick to join them at the race and the tailgate party. Patrick says, “All right, you wore me down.”
Patrick thanks Max for the ticket. Max says Patrick looks familiar, “Have we met?”
Belle tells Phillip Shawn is their friend and wants to be there for him. Phillip doesn’t want Shawn to leave.
“Good,” says Shawn, “This has gone on long enough. You need to know the truth.”
Phillip asks, “Why are you here?”
“For the same reason we went on the rescue mission – for Belle.”
Nicole asks the pilot why they are still there. He thought they were waiting for another passenger. “Where the hell is your mother,” asks Nicole.
Nancy remembers her promise to Chloe, “Why are you doing this Brady?”
Brady says, “If I’m wrong, I am deeply sorry, but if Chloe isn’t alive why are you here?” He finds Chloe’s bag. Inside he finds the locket he gave to her. He turns to Nancy, “Tell me the truth.”
Patrick says Max has a hell of a memory. Patrick talked to his sponsors about investing in Max’ midget car. He didn’t do it, but he used to drive, “The only thing that comes close to that thrill is...”
“Yea, don’t I know it,” says Max. He has to go. A couple kisses might insure the win. The girls both kiss his cheek and squeal.
The girls talk about Max and Patrick’s killer bods.
Nancy comes up with excuses. The clothes are for donations to a less fortunate patient who conveniently is off having tests.
Brady says, “The patient is Chloe. Why won’t you tell me the truth? She needs me now more than ever.”
“She’s not here,” says Nancy.
Brady says, “I helped her through leukemia. I can sure help her with whatever she’s going through now. My life is nothing without her. Please tell me where she is.”
“Brady, I can’t,” Nancy’s phone rings. It’s Chloe. Chloe wants to know what’s keeping her.
Brady grabs the phone, “Chloe, tell me where you are.”
Shawn says Belle was a mess. WAS? She was scared to death.
Phillip tells him, “What you did was crazy Shawn. Why not let the pros handle it?”
“They tried once and failed,” Says Shawn.
“I’m grateful for that,” says Phillip, “Before I shipped out you still loved Belle. Why risk your life to save me? I’d also like to know why you had her arms around you when I wheeled in here?” Shawn stares.
Chloe hangs up. Brady asks, “That was Chloe wasn’t it?”
“Don’t be ridiculous,” says Nancy, “That was Craig.”
“That was not a New York area code,” says Brady, “I know that number from somewhere.”
Nicole and Chloe argue. Chloe says Nancy will keep the secret.
Nicole says, “Your mother will have to find her own ride.” She tells the pilot to take off and calls Brady.
Brady tells her, “I know what is going on, Nicole. Put Chloe on the phone.”
Nicole asks, “Brady, have you been drinking?”
“Put Chloe on the phone, NOW!”
The big Salem 500 is underway. The crowd is on its feet. BIG WRECK. Jennifer screams, “Ohmygosh, Max, NO!”
Well, the race is over. The Salem 500 must be 500 feet, not miles. Jennifer says, “My heart is beating a mile a minute after that.” It was a spin-and-win for Max. The crowd cheers as he comes up. Max says, “Getting the fans excited is half the fun right?”
Jennifer says she felt like she was in the car herself. Patrick congratulates him. They start for the BBQ tailgate as thunder rolls.
The nurse comes in to measure Phillip for his prosthesis. He doesn’t want to go. She bellows, “I’m not just a nurse, I’m a Captain and this is an order.”
“Yes ma’am,” says the private. She wheels him out.
Belle asks Shawn if he is out of his mind. Actually, Shawn and his mind have been separated for years.
Belle says, “Phillip cannot know the truth yet. He’s not ready. We have to keep up this lie.”
Shawn says, “I’m sorry, I can’t.”
“It looks like it’s going to be a monsoon,” says Jack. They decide to go home and tailgate in the garage. They invite Max and he accepts. Chelsea invites Patrick. Jack stares. Jennifer invites him too. Jack yields.
“One beer, one burger and you’re gone,” says Jack as they leave.
Brady says he thinks Chloe is with Nicole right now. Nicole protests.
Brady says, “You have been lying to me, Nicole. I will never forgive you.”
Nicole asks, “How can you let your dead girlfriend come between us? I’m in my car on the way home. Let’s talk later.”
“No. Now.”
Nicole says, “I can’t talk while I’m driving.” She hangs up.
Chloe frets, “We will never get away with this.”
Nicole picks up the phone, “Jackson, get this plane in the air now.”
Nancy asks Brady why Chloe would reveal herself only to Nicole.
“Nancy,” says Brady, “none of this makes sense, so tell me right now.” Nancy says she has a plane to catch.
“I knew I recognized that phone number. It’s from the Titan jet,” says Brady.
The Devereaux group gets home. Patrick asks Max if his team is looking for more backers. Max says he is just the driver.
Chelsea unrolls a poster, “You’re not just the driver.”
Max offers to run out and get some ice cream for dessert. He asks if anyone wants to go with him and Abby and Chelsea volunteer. Conveniently, his car is a two-seater, so Chelsea goes with him and Abby gets left in the dust. Patrick says he won’t be staying for dessert. Max and Chelsea leave. Patrick offers to help. “We don’t need no stinkin' help,” says Jack.
Belle tells Shawn Phillip isn’t strong enough to hear the truth.
Shawn says, “The longer it takes the more it will hurt when he finds out.”
“If you can’t respect my feelings then go home,” says Belle.
Shawn says, “Lying to him is not gonna help him. I don’t want to hurt Phillip, I want you back. You said we had to wait to tell him in person for all these months. I have respected that and now I want to be back with you like we’ve always dreamed.”
“We can’t do that now. I can’t think about myself right now,” says Belle.
Shawn says, “I think you have to. Who do you love more? Who do you want to be with?”
“You,” she whines, “I love you.” They hug.
Patrick keeps trying to help, Jack keeps resisting. Jennifer goes into the kitchen. Jack tells Patrick to leave after he has had his lunch,” Leave my family alone or it will be the biggest mistake you ever made.”
“I don’t like threats.”
“It’s not a threat – it’s a promise.”
Chelsea says, “I’ve never driven that fast before.”
Max tells her, “It’s nothing compared to being on the track.”
“Why did we stop here,” asks the naïve little twit.
“It’s a great view,” says Max.
“You know,” says Chelsea, “This is a place where everyone comes to fool around.”
Max says, “Sounds like you’ve been here before.”
Chelsea says, “I don’t date much. Guys are so immature, not as hot as you.”
“How hot,” asks Max.
“Very hot.”
“Coincidence,” he says, “I thought the same thing about you. We should do something about it.”
“We should,” says Chelsea, “Definitely.” Max makes his move.
Shawn says, “I am not asking you to do anything until your divorce is final. I am asking you to acknowledge the bond between us.”
“I know you love me,” says Belle, “and I love you too. This is bigger than us. We have to put our needs aside. Phillip needs time to recover.”
Shawn says, “He is my friend – was my friend. We’re not doing him any favors by lying to him. What’s cruel is trying to protect him.”
“His leg is gone,” Says Belle.
“And so is his marriage,” Says Shawn.
Belle asks, “If a child was injured in a car crash and her parents died, would the doctors tell her? No.”
“We both know he suspects it,” says Shawn.
“Maybe,” says Belle, “but you can’t do this.”
“I have to.”
The plane slows. Nicole asks the pilot what is going on. “We’ve been ordered to return to the hangar,” says the pilot, “and I’m not going to disobey a direct FAA order.”
Chloe runs to the window and screams, “OMG, Nicole, Brady’s out there. He’s going to find me. There’s no place for me to hide.”
“This can’t be happening,” says Nicole.
Over and over Brady shouts, “CHLOE!” Fade to Brando yelling “STELLA!”
Triple FF – Brady, Chloe, Nicole.

Smitten
Patrick comes up to the Devereaux house and sirens blare. Tek comes up to him, “Jack Devereaux wants your ass of the property. Trying to rob the place?”
Lexie goes through a file. Jack is at the door. He hasn’t changed his mind about not telling Jennifer. He wants Lexie to sign some insurance papers. Lexie says, “The stress of keeping the secret could be detrimental to your health.”
Jack laughs. He has to go to the races.
“I see,” says Lexie, “And that’s more important than learning about your condition.”
Jack says, “What’s important is making memories with the ones I love.”
Abby can’t believe Jennifer knows Max. Jennifer tells them about his little toy race car when he was a kid. He’s grown up and so has his little toy hot rod.
Nancy tells Chloe she is making the biggest mistake of her life. Chloe says goodbye to the nurse and asks her never to tell anyone she was here. The nurse says, “You needed more visitors while you were here, some friends, a boy friend and people like that. That Nicole gave me the creeps.”
On cue, Nicole says, “Did I hear my name? Are you all packed, Chloe?”
“Actually,” says Nancy, “No she’s not.”
Brady comes up to the desk to see if Nicole is there visiting Clara. Chloe’s folder is sitting right there and we are supposed to think he sees it. “Now it all makes perfect sense,” he says.
Phillip seethes.
Belle tells Shawn he has to go. Shawn isn’t going anywhere. Belle looks out the window and sees Phillip staring, “OMG he saw us.”
“It’s time to tell him the truth - that we love each other,” says Shawn.
Nancy tells Nicole Chloe isn’t packed yet.
Nicole says, “Chloe agreed to go.”
“That’s because you talked her into it you self-serving little bitch,” says Nancy.
“I’m just respecting her wishes,” says Nicole, “And I’d think as her mother you would do the same.”
“Brady is really close to finding me. The only way to prevent that is to leave Salem, which I intend to do right now,” says Chloe. How about leaving the planet instead?
Brady picks up a mall brochure, “Salem's hi-fashion mall. That must be where Nicole went.”
Belle notices, “Phillip, you’re in a wheel chair.”
“Yeah,” says Phillip, “I wanted to surprise you, but I’m the one who got the surprise. Good to see ya, Shawn,” says Phillip.
“I’m sorry,” says Shawn, “This sucks. I thought you were dead. The commanding officer made it sound like you had one food in the grave.”
Belle is shocked, “Can’t you be more sensitive than that?”
Patrick is just there to finish packing his things.
Tek says, “I’m just here to see what you’re up to. You’re being defensive. The only reason to be defensive is if you’re hiding something.”
“Well, you tell me what an appropriate response would be,” says Patrick.
Tek says, “One day you’ll slip up and I’ll be there to nail your ass.”
Patrick says, “Well, that was a typical B-movie response.” Hey, maybe DOOL has finally moved up to the level of a B-movie.
“Have a nice day,” says Tek.
Lexie thinks Jack should talk to Marlena. Jack asks, “Why should I do that when I only have a few months left? I gotta go. I forgot the Pickalilly relish and you can’t have a picnic without that.”
Max explains he was adopted. Jennifer tells him Caroline might be alive. More autographs for the ladies. Chelsea tells him he’s the hottest and cutest driver in the Salem 500.
Jennifer asks about Frankie. Max says they are still close. Jennifer tells the girls Max’ brother Frankie used to be a friend of hers.
“A really good friend,” says Max.
“Just how good of a friend was he, Mom,” asks Abby.
Shawn says, “I’m sorry. I wasn’t thinking and just put my foot in my mouth.”
Phillip chuckles, “Don’t worry about it. I think that’s the first laugh I’ve had since this happened, so thank you for being ignorant.” Phillip isn’t the first guy who’s thanked Shawn for that.
Shawn gets into it, “I’m glad I could give you a leg up on your recovery.”
Phillip gets serious, “I was wondering what you were doing here.”
“Just trying to help,” says Shawn.
Phillip asks, “What do you think you can do that the doctors, Belle, John, Kate and the entire U.S. Marine Corps can’t do?” Belle stares.
Chloe packs. Nancy won’t help, “This is only good for Nicole. She’s playing you for a fool.”
Chloe says, “I can’t be with Brady, so I want him to move on. I know Nicole loves him. All I want is for Brady to be happy.”
“Thank you, Chloe,” says Nicole, “That’s all I want for Brady too.”
Nancy tees off, “As long as he’s happy with you – you conniving little... Chloe you could have the life you want if you would just have the courage to take it.”
Brady calls Nicole’s cell phone. Nicole checks the display, “OMG, it’s Brady.”
Chloe says, “Don’t answer it.”
“OK,” says Nicole, “If you say so.”
“Like she was going to,” says Nancy.
Brady says, “Not picking up, eh? Nicole is definitely up to something.”
Max says Jennifer and Frankie dated. Chelsea says she can understand why Jennifer loved Frankie if he looked like Max.
Jennifer wonders what is keeping Jack.
Jack gets back and finds Patrick in the house, “What, are you here to rob the place?” Patrick is sick and tired of accusations.
Jennifer tells Max Jack is her husband. He will love meeting Max. Max takes the girls to see the car and the pit area. Jennifer decides to stay and wait for Jack, “Come on, Jack, where are you?”
“Who else accused you,” asks Jack.
Patrick says, “Tek.”
“Well,” says Jack, “It’s good to know the cops don’t trust you either.”
“I just came by to get some garbage bags to pack my clothes,” says Patrick.
“We asked you to get out days ago. What’s taking so long,” asks Jack.
Patrick says, “Jennifer gave me extra time.”
“You could move in with your mother,” suggests Jack.
Patrick tells him, “I phoned ahead to make sure no one was here so we wouldn’t have this confrontation.”
“Too late,” says Jack, “So keep packing and...” Jack holds up the garbage bags, “keep the luggage. I want everything out of the garage apartment today. Be out of here by the time we get back.”
Lexie looks at Jack’s file. Lexie stares. Lexie flashes back to her conversation with Jack. He’s more concerned about the relish than the fact that he only has months to live. Jack explains, “I’ve been separated from my family and I realize the most precious thing we have is the time we have left together. I’m going to make every day the most special memorable time I can. I’m not going to tell them I’m dying.”
Lexie asks, “Why?”
“If I tell them, they will live in fear, in anticipation of my death. I will not do that to them.”
“Don’t you think you’re cheating them,” asks Lexie, “What if they are angry or have regrets about something they wanted to do with you?”
Jack says, “There is no saying goodbye. Not yet, anyway. I’m not dying Lexie. I’m gonna live my life to the fullest right to the very end. Now, you know what I have to do.”
“Yeah,” she says, “You have to get the relish.”
“That’s right,” he says, “So they will have the best tailgate cookout ever. Nothing is more important.”
Jack leaves. Lexie pops back to reality. A hand is on her shoulder. She turns and says, “I’m so glad you’re here. I really need you right now.”
Shawn didn't think Phillip and Belle would mind if he was there, “Maybe I can run interference for you.”
“You can certainly run better than me,” says Phillip, “I guess that was just another lame joke. I know you came to rescue me. As a Marine, I can tell you I never heard of such a dumbass thing. Fortunately Tony captured you and not the enemy or you would be dead. Why were you so determined to bring me back to Salem?”
Belle chimes in, “He couldn’t bear the thought of you being killed.”
Phillip says, “Before I left for the war all we did was fight. Is that why you are here now? To come between me and Belle?”
Chloe signs her discharge papers. The nurse tells Nicole Brady was here looking for her. She told him she hadn’t seen her, but he’s back at the desk now.
Chloe freaks, “Don’t tell him I am here.” She turns to Nancy, “Or you, Mother.”
Nicole tries to bribe the nurse to keep her mouth shut, but she won’t take it.
Back at the nurses’ station, Brady asks her about Nicole, “Why is her car still in the garage unless she’s here to see another patient? But it can’t be Chloe. Why would Chloe be in a clinic? Is there a patient here named Chloe Lane?”
The nurse says, “I have to keep the patient’s confidentiality.”
Brady asks, “Have you ever been in love? I think Chloe is still alive I have to find her.”
The nurse says, “I can’t tell you anything, but maybe someone in room 206 can.”
Brady goes into room 206. Empty. “Dammit,” he says. He opens the closet, “OMG.”
In the pits. Abby asks if Max has ever been in a crash.
Chelsea says, “He hit the wall in California.” Chelsea can’t believe he survived that wreck. She tells him about her crash. Her parents didn’t survive.
Max tells them about his training. He takes care of himself. But that’s before the race. After the race, he likes to party. Chelsea soaks it in.
Jack comes up to Jennifer. He forgot to bring the relish he went home to get. We have a Pickalilly relish argument.
Jennifer tells him about Max Brady, “Frankie’s younger brother Max is in this race. Abby and Chelsea are...”
“...Smitten”
“They are hot for his bod,” says Jennifer.
“What?”
“Just think smitten,” says Jennifer.
Tek is with Lexie. She tells him a patient of hers is dying and he doesn’t want his family to know.
“In my opinion,” says Tek, “the patient is right. Sometimes there are things you have to let go of. And things you have to hold on to.”
“I get the feeling you aren’t talking about my patient,” says Lexie.”
“I’m talking about your life,” says Tek, “I care about you so much. You’re hurting and Abe is making it worse. I just want to take that away.” Small kiss. Hot kiss.
Lexie pulls away, “I can’t do this. It feels right but...”
“It is right.”
Back at it. They rip each other’s clothes off. Onto the desk.
Max gives the girls tickets to seats behind the pits. He kisses Chelsea and the girls run off squealing.
A mechanic says, “As soon as we hit town you have a harem of babes who will do anything for you.”
“Not anything,” says Max
“Not from what I’ve seen,” says the mechanic.
Jack starts to tell Jennifer about finding Patrick, but the girls walk up to Jack and Jennifer with him, “Look who we found!”
Brady pulls Nancy out of the closet, “I know Chloe’s alive Nancy. Where is she? Has Nicole taken her somewhere? I‘m gonna ask you one more time. Where the hell is Chloe.”
“That was way too close,” says Nicole as she and Chloe get into the car, “You’re home free, Chloe. Soon you’ll be gone and Brady will never know you were alive.”
Phillip says, “You tied to stop our wedding and then did everything you could to come between us. So, Shawn, understand my concern. You’re here because you’re still after Belle.”
Belle stares. Shawn stares. FF on Shawn.

There's A New Brady In Town
The Devereaux Clan gets ready for the big outing. Jack accuses Abby of being in the throes of Salem 500 fever as she giggles her way through the race program, finding a driver who is “hot to the max.” Abby and Chelsea chortle their way into another room as Jack grabs his side. Jennifer comes up to see what’s wrong and Jack jumps.
Tek comes into the hospital where Lexie is working, “You really dress this place up. Did you get my message?”
“Yes,” says Lexie, “I did. I’ve just been extremely busy.”
“So what about now,” he asks, “You wanna go get a cup of coffee or something?”
“Tek,” she says, “It isn’t coffee you’re after.” She stole my line right out from under me “You have made your feelings extremely clear and I am still extremely married.”
“But not happily,” he says.
Lexie says, “Show me any couple who’s been through what we have and it’s only natural things would be a little rough, but I am not giving up on my husband.”
“That’s not what I am asking you to do,” he says.
“I won’t cheat on him either,” says Lexie, “He’s lost his sight. He’s having a difficult time.”
“The man can’t make love to his wife. That’s Abe’s real problem.”
Of course, Abe walks up behind them and says, “Did I hear my name?”
Chloe tells Nicole she wishes she were doing the right thing. Nicole tries to convince her as Brady wonders who Nicole is talking to. He picks up the line but, you guessed it, CLICK. Nicole comes in and Brady asks who she was talking to. Nicole slams the door.
Nancy comes in all happy-happy. Chloe tells her about Nicole’s offer to fly them to Switzerland. Nancy isn’t in the mood to travel, “Chloe, I am not going to let that bleached-blonde tramp steal Brady away from you.”
U.S. MILITARY HOSPITAL, WIESBADEN, GERMANY. Shawn tells Belle, “I knew I wouldn’t get much of a reception from Kate, but your dad wasn’t very happy to see me either.”
Belle says, “Did you think he would be? You really took us by surprise. You’ve got to go. Phillip can’t see you here.”
“He’s gotta see me sometime,” says Shawn.
Phillip screams in the background. He’s having shell-shocked nightmares of war. He sits up and screams. Belle tells Shawn he has to go as she rushes to Phillip. “I’m not going anywhere. I can’t,” says Shawn. Belle ain’t happy.
Belle begs Shawn to leave. Shawn says he will just wait but he’s not leaving.
Inside his room, Phillip screams, “My leg is gone, but I can still feel it.”
Belle says, “I get the same sensation with my brain, too.”
The doctor rushes in and gives us a medical lesson about phantom pain. Phillip screams, “When am I going to be able to walk again?”
The doctor says, “After many hours of work and pain and endless failures and excruciating scenes of false hope with Belle whining in the background that she’s there for you.”
The doc leaves as Phillip writhes in pseudo-pain. Belle asks if he needs anything. “No,” says Phillip, “It’s us. We’re never going to be the same again. You didn’t marry me so you could spend the rest of your life waiting on your disabled husband.”
Chloe packs. Nancy says, “I can’t believe you’re letting that little witch get away with this. Nicole just wants Brady for herself.”
“Well,” says Chloe, “Nicole is still beautiful and I never will be again, so it’s for the best. Let’s just accept that, Nancy.”
“Chloe,” says Nancy, “That’s a cop-out. And it also shows very little respect for Brady as a human being. You deserve to be with the man that makes you happy and I’m not going to stop helping you until you get him back.” Chloe stares.
Brady asks Nicole who she was talking to. She says she was leaving a message for her assistant at Titan. Nicole leaves. Brady picks up the phone and dials.
Nancy tells Chloe she won’t let her throw her life away. Her cell phone rings. She says, “Life was so much easier when we weren’t interrupted by every Tom, Dick and... Brady... Hello, Brady. Brady asks her to come over to the mansion to talk about Chloe. “I’ll be right over,” says Nancy. More staring from Chloe.
Tek says, “Hello, Abe, I just stopped by to say hi to Lexie. We’re friends. I hope that isn’t a problem for you.”
Abe says, “As if you would give a damn if it was. And I suspect there’s a lot more than friendship going on.”
Lexie says, “Abe, that is not true and you know it.”
“Well,” says Abe, “I have to believe what you tell me since I can’t see for myself.” Tec decides it’s time to leave.
“Is your lover gone,” asks Abe.
“Abe, he isn’t... Yes, Abe, Tek just zipped his pants up and left. There, feel better? That’s obviously what you want to hear.”
“That’s what you want to do,” says Abe, “You just won’t admit it. You’re not getting any at home. Am I supposed to believe you’re being faithful?”
She insists, “I am not having an affair with Tek. Abe, you still share a bed with me. There are many ways of being intimate but you turn your back on me.”
“Wishing you were in bed with a real man.”
“Lexie changes the subject, “Arguing won’t get us anywhere. I’ve scheduled more tests for you.”
“I’m tired of being poked and prodded,” says Abe, “It’s a waste of time and money.” She begs him not to give up. He heads off for the lab.
Tek comes back, “He’s really putting you through it. You deserve better.”
“I took wedding vows that mean something to me.”
He says, “I don’t know ho much more you can take.”
The girls fawn over the racing magazine. “OMG says Chelsea, I would lose my virginity to a guy like him in a Salem minute.” Chelsea gives her a look. “What, are you planning to stay a virgin forever?”
“No,” she says, “but since my parents are going with us, I’ll probably still be one tonight.” Salem’s last two remaining virgins continue to read the book.
Jack struggles with pain. Jennifer announces they are ready to go. Jack says he will meet them at the track. He feels great, but he has an errand to run. Jack leaves. Jennifer stares. On his way out, Jack calls Lexie, “I need to see you right away. And this time I need answers.”
Officer Mark Adams comes up to Abe in the hospital. He’s been doing some digging about Tek, “He’s a player. Lots of women, never with one for very long.”
Abe grits his teeth, “That’s what I figured you’d find out. There’s no way I’m going to let that scum get his hands on my wife.”
Jack runs up to Lexie, “Doc, explain it to me. I’m dizzy and light headed, what’s happening to me?”
“You’re turning into Belle.”
More tests for Jack.
The girls arrive at the big Salem 500. Jennifer gets the food ready while Abby and Chelsea go off to stalk the wild male species. Target sighted. It’s HIM. They join a squealing crowd of autograph seekers.
Nancy arrives at the mansion. Brady asks her if Chloe is still alive. He tells her about hearing Chloe’s voice on the phone, “After Chloe died, did you see her body?”
“Brady,” she says, “It was a horrific accident. We had to rely on DNA testing.”
“DNA can be faked,” he says, “Are you sure those were her ashes you showed me?”
Nancy flashes back to concocting Chloe’s ashes, “Brady, you saw the ashes. You were at the memorial service. Face it, Chloe’s gone.”
Brady says, “I don’t mean to be disrespectful, but is it possible Chloe’s death was faked? Is it possible she could still be alive?”
More flashback. Nancy remembers Chloe saying if she told Brady, she will never see Chloe again, “I wish I could tell you what you want to hear, but I can’t. I would give anything to see you and Chloe together, but it’s out of my hands. If there is one thing I can tell you... follow your heart.”
Nicole is listening, “Your gonna follow your heart back to me, Brady.”
Phillip says he will always be a burden to her. She insists he is not a burden. Get used to this dialogue, folks. We’re going to hear it for all the Days Of Our Lives. The techs come to take him to x-ray. After he leaves, Shawn is there for her.
In x-ray, Phillip meets Gary. He’s a grizzled old amputee vet. Been there two months. Phillip is sorry. “That’s how her letter started,” says Gary, “I’m sorry...” Phillip assures him Belle is there to stick with him.
Gary says, “Once they realize it’s never going to be like it was, they take off. Just trying to prepare you, man. It could happen to you, too.”
The squealing groupies decide to meet the hot up-and-coming driver up close. OMG! His name is Brady! Chelsea asks if he is related to the Bradys they know. Abby says she would have heard about it if he were. Jennifer comes up and talks to the girls about him, with a Max Brady flyer hanging behind her.
So, just speculating here, letting my mind wander, if Chelsea is really Georgia that makes her Bo’s daughter, which makes her a... Brady. And no doubt this Max is related somehow, so this could be interesting, except for the fact that nothing that far-fetched would ever happen on Daze now would it? Oh, wait, was Max adopted? That would kill this scenario.
Quick as a flash, Jack’s test results are back from the lab. They were free, too. Oh, the reality! Jack makes light of it, “How long have I got, Doc?”
Lexie hauls him onto the terrace to speak in private. Tek comes in and starts to write something but sees Adams. Tek asks what he is doing there. Adams says, “With all due respect I don’t report to you. What are you doing here? Looking for a little face-time with Lexie Carver?” Tek gives Adams some face.
Lexie tells Jack his white blood count is dangerously low.
“What’s the prognosis,” asks Jack.
“Not Good.”
“What’s that,” asks Jack, “Doctor-speak for ‘I’m dying?’”
Lexie stares. Jack’s smile melts.
Gary tells Phillip his girlfriend couldn’t hack it and coincidentally moved on with one of his friends. Phillip tells him Belle is there with him. Well, coincidentally, his girlfriend flew over there, too. Phillip says he and Belle are married, they took vows. Cheerful Gary says nobody ever thinks about the “worse” part when they say, “for better or for worse.” Gary says, “I’m not saying she will bail on you. Just don’t be surprised when she starts crying on some other guy’s shoulder. Some guy with both legs. It’s the beginning of the end.”
Belle cries on Shawn’s shoulder. Belle tells Shawn he has to go back to Salem.
“I flew over here because I love you,” says Shawn.
Belle reminds him, “You also drove your motorcycle through a church window because you loved me.”
“I was a different person back then,” says the schizo, “I just need to know if you are committed to having a future with me.”
Brady paces. Nicole comes in and asked how his visit with Nancy went. Brady says Nancy assured him Chloe is dead. Nicole hugs him, “I’m sorry, is there anything I can do to make you feel better.”
“Yeah,” thinks Brady, “You could lead me to Chloe.”
Nancy returns. Chloe asks, “How was Brady?”
“Why do you care?”
“Mother,” she says, “please don’t make this any harder for me.”
“OK,” she says, “How is Brady? He still loves you. He thinks you’re alive, and he’s devastated you haven’t come to find him. I didn’t tell him you are alive, but he is never going to stop trying to find you.”
“Then we have to leave right now,” says Chloe.
“No way,” says Nancy, “We are staying right here in Salem.”
The Max-ster signs autographs. Chelsea asks him, “Sign my shirt, OK?” Her “shirt is a rather low-cut affair. He makes her turn around and signs the back. After he signs it, Chelsea asks him what he is doing after the race. A couple bombshells horn in and push the teeny-boppers back.
Jennifer wonders what’s keeping Jack.
Lexie tells Jack his condition is very rare. Jack asks if he is dying.
Lexie says, “In cases like this I always advise getting a second opinion.”
“Waitaminute,” says Jack, “You can’t even say it. Come on, tell me how long I’ve got.”
“If I had to guess,” says Lexie, “...three months.” No problem. The way Salem time goes, we’re only about five days into 2005, so it’ll take years for three months to pass. By then they will have a cure.
Lexie tries to be encouraging, “There are treatments, breakthroughs, and you never can tell what the writers will come up with.”
“OMG,’ says Jack, “I get through everything the DiMeras can throw at me only to come home to die.” Lexie offers to come with him to tell Jennifer. “Jennifer,” says Jack, “OMG, no, I cant do this to Jennifer.” He staggers off.
Lexie finds him, “Jack, life is so precious. If Jennifer only has a few months with you, she has to know so she can make peace with the situation.”
“It’s my life, my decision,” says Jack, “You are to tell no one, got me?”
“Jack, you are making a mistake,”
“No,” says Jack, “God made the mistake. He’s having a little joke on me and my family. ‘I’ll let Jack make it home, have a couple of happy weeks with his family and then take him away forever. Amen.’ Good one. Thank you for having the guts to tell me.” Jack leaves.
It’s Tek-time. He comforts the crying Lexie. He hugs her. Adams watches in the background.
Jennifer comes up. Abby tells her Chelsea got Max Brady to touch her. Jennifer asks, “Max Brady?” She looks over at him, “MMAAAXXX!” They rush at each other and hug. Yeah, there’s a new Brady in town.
Nicole leaves, “I can’t leave this to chance. I have to make sure Chloe and her big-mouth mother get on that plane never to be seen again.”
Brady follows, “Hang on, Chloe, I have a feeling Nicole is going to lead me right to you.”
Nancy tells Chloe, “I looked into Brady’s eyes. I saw how much he still loves you. Your life will be miserable without him. Please listen to me. Go to Brady and be with the man you love.”
The doc tells Phillip the recovery process takes its toll on any marriage. Phillip says Belle has told him he will never be a burden to her, “So I guess I’m one of the lucky ones.”
Belle tells Shawn he has to leave. He’s not leaving until he knows she is OK, “I love you too much.” They hug.
The doc is pushing Phillip down the hallway. Phillip says he wants to wheel himself to show Belle what progress he is making. Phillip takes over and wheels toward his room. He sees the big hug.
FF on Phillip.

“Brady is really close to finding me. The only way to prevent that is to leave Salem, which I intend to do right now,” says Chloe.
Jennifer asks Jack, “What distracted you so much that you forgot your favorite relish?”
Tek tells Lexie, “I know you are hurting and I just want to take that hurt away.” Hot kiss.
Phillip says, “You’re still after Belle and you’re doing everything you can to come between us and steal my wife away from me.”

Tony Promised Me
Sami comes to Lucas’ apartment. She has breakfast. Will comes in and Sami plays waitress. Will sees what she is up to, “You’re doing this so we can be a family again.”
“Well,” says Sami, “would that be so terrible?”
“It’s just that something always blows up in your face,” says Will.
“It’s true,” says Lucas. There is a knock at the door – Roman. Sami is soooooooooo happy to see him.
“Yeah,” says Roman, “but I’m here on business. I have to ask you some questions about Tony DiMera.” Sami stares.
Marlena looks over the dreaded pregnancy test results. Yep – still pregnant. She hyperventilates and flashes back to the love nest at the castle. Just like he always said, Roman is there for her. Marlena asks no one in particular, “How can I tell John I am pregnant with Roman’s child? How can I tell Roman? What am I going to do?” There is a knock at the door. The listening-challenged Mimi tells Marlena she ditched her advice like yesterday’s garbage so now she is back for more, “I didn’t take your advice. You told me I should be honest with the man I love just like you would never lie to your husband...” Marlena stares. Mimi asks, “Dr Evans? You’re not still keeping your secret, too?”
Rex is at the police station. Tek comes in and has a little confrontation with the cop Rex is talking to. Rex tells Tek he’s there to talk about Mimi, “She’s innocent, and there is no way I’m going to lose the woman I love.”
Brady walks into Chloe’s room. It’s the big reunion, the moment we have all waited for. Oh, love wins out in the end. The heavens open. Brady looks at the bandage-clad love of his life, “Chloe?”
Slowly She turns, “Brady.”
“When I heard your voice on the phone, I knew you had to be alive. Your mom told me where you were. I still can’t believe this is really you.”
“Brady,” she says, “I didn’t want you to see me like this.”
Brady says, “I love you, Chloe. I don’t care about your scars. I am, however, a little concerned about hooking up with a whack-job who would let the so-called love of her life think she is dead when she isn’t.”
Note: If anyone is buying this, please leave the room.
U.S. MILITARY HOSPITAL, WIESBADEN, GERMANY:
Kate says, “So many young, brave men and women have sacrificed so much for our country. Land mines are an abomination. They should be banned.”
“I agree,” says John.
“And,” says Kate, “we’re fortunate Phillip survived. With all that modern medicine can do, he will have an almost complete recovery. And we are also fortunate Belle is with him and Shawn is thousands of miles away, which means Belle and Phillip will have a chance to bond without Shawn driving a wedge between them.”
Machines hum inside Phillip’s room. Phillip and Belle sleep. Belle dreams of Phillip. A hand caresses her face. She wakes up and says, “Phillip?” She turns and looks up, “SHAWN?”
Brady and Chloe hug. Brady says, “When I found out you were alive, I knew I wouldn’t give up until I found you.”
“How can you bear to look at me like this,” asks Chloe.
“The scars don’t matter,” says Brady, “I love you.”
“I love you, too,” says Chloe. They kiss. Pan down to the picture of the perfect couple. Pan back up to see Chloe in bed sleeping. WHAT DO YOU KNOW, IT WAS ALL A DREAM! OMG, I CAN’T BELIEVE IT. WHO WOULD HAVE EVER GUESSED? BOY, THEY SURE HAD ME FOOLED BECAUSE THEY WOULD NEVER, NEVER PULL THIS KIND OF STUFF ON DAZE. NOSIREEEBOB.
Chloe wakes up breathing like a steam engine, “Brady, what if Nancy would tell you I’m alive. Maybe I should just tell you myself.”
Pan to Brady asleep in bed sans Nicole. Nicole walks in wearing her nightie and ready for fun. The nightie disappears as she jumps in bed. She kisses him. Things develop. He opens his eyes. It’s DOOL pop-quiz time. Who does Brady see when he opens his eyes?
a) Nicole
b) The good Fairy
c) The smiling, beautiful Chloe
If you answered anything but ‘c’, you are a Daze ree-tard and must go back and review previous lessons before proceeding. If you answered ‘b’, you would be given partial-credit, however.
Brady dives in, “Oh, Chloe, you’re so beautiful.” Then he gets a good look, “WHOA! Nicole, what are you doing in my bed?”
“I thought you might be lonely. You’ve been lying to me all along, haven’t you,” she huffs.
John says, “We’ll have a lot to celebrate when we get back. Roman and Marlena will be surprised when we ask them to renew their vows.” Kate is distant. “All right, Kate,” he says, “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.”
“It’s about you and me, isn’t it,” he says, “It’s about our relationship when Tony took Roman and Marlena away from us.”
Kate says, “We thought they were dead.”
“We got nothin’ to feel guilty about. Roman and Marlena understand,” says John.
“I know,” says Kate, “but I would be devastated if it was the other way around.”
“I shouldn’t have passed my paranoia along to you,” says John.
“I keep getting the feeling,” says Kate, “they should be here with us instead of back there together.”
“Together?”
“Yes, you told me when you called Marlena, Roman was there with her,” says Kate.
“It was a coincidence,” says John, “He was there to ask Marlena if she remembered anything which might help him locate his mother and Victor.”
“I’m just stressed out about Phillip,” says Kate.
“I’m sure,” says John, “when we get back and renew our vows it will be like beginning a new chapter for all the Days Of Our Lives.”
“I’m sure you’re right,” says Kate, “and I hope it will be the same for Phillip, too and he can have a new beginning with Belle.”
Belle is not overjoyed to see Shawn. Shawn ‘splains he flew all night to be there with her. Belle hustles him out of the room. On the way out, Shawn stops at the pictures of Belle and Phillip on the wall and asks what that is all about. Belle shoves him out, “Shawn, you shouldn’t be here. I want you to leave.”
Rex tries to convince Tek Mimi is innocent. Tek says he can’t tell Rex anything else. Rex takes this to mean there is more to the story.
“That’s not what I’m saying,” says Tek, “It’s a cut-and-dried case. I have Mimi’s confession on tape. She’s going to be sentenced today and she’s going to jail.”
“There has to be more to it,” says Rex, “and I’m going to find out.” Rex leaves.
Mimi says, “I’m sorry, Marlena. Your personal life is none of my business. Besides, I know you would never keep a secret from someone you love.” She tells Marlena about her encounter with Rex and the great breakfast he fixed and how he said she would be a great mother, “And I just lost it and told him to get it through his head that we were over, and then I ran out. I didn’t sleep at all last night and I’m getting sentenced today. I probably will go to jail for the rest of my life.”
Marlena says, “Let me call Roman. Maybe we can change your plea.” Mimi stops her.
Meanwhile, back at Lucas’ apartment, Roman wants answers and Lucas needs a shirt. Roman might get his answers but the Salem shirt shortage will be with us forever. Will wants to stay and watch the fun but Roman makes him leave. Shirtless Lucas gets to stay, however.
Roman wants to know what happened with Tony. Sami claims innocence. Roman wants to know if Sami heard Tony say anything about Victor and Caroline while she was captive over there. Sami says she didn’t. Roman says he’ll just have to track down Tony for the answers.
Lucas says, “The only ways you’re going to find Tony is to find Stan. He almost cost us our lives. I’m not gonna rest until I find him.”
Roman tells Lucas to drop it. The Salem PD and ISA are on his trail. Sami says she isn’t sure anyone will ever find Stan.
“Why would you say that,” asks Lucas.
“Just a feeling,” says Sami.
“I can’t go on feelings here,” says Roman, “so are you sure you can’t think of something that might help us. Even the smallest detail would be helpful. In the meantime, I’ll be questioning Nicole.”
Sami isn’t thrilled with this news, “Why Nicole?”
“Because,” says Roman, “when we were captive on the island I remember your grandmother hinting Nicole might just want Victor out of the way.”
“I wouldn’t be surprised if that were true,” says Lucas, “Nicole is trying to get her claws into Brady as we speak.”
Nicole removes her claws from Brady as they argue. Nicole says, “I heard you call Chloe’s name in your sleep. You still think she’s alive, don’t you.”
“No I do not,” says Brady, “because you have convinced me otherwise, but that doesn’t mean I don’t still love her and can’t help dreaming about her.”
“If you believe she’s gone, why can’t we make love,” asks Nicole.
“We’ve been through this,” says Brady, “our making love has nothing to do with Chloe and everything to do with your husband.” Nicole stares.
“Brady,” she says, “even if Victor is alive, I have no intention of remaining married to him.”
“Nicole,” he says, “if there is even the slightest chance my grandfather is alive, that makes you my step-grandmother and we can’t sleep together.” He ushers Nicole out and thinks, “I just bought myself some time. Maybe Nicole will lead me to Chloe.”
Outside, Nicole says to herself, “There’s nothing I can do about Victor, but I can certainly get rid of Chloe.”
Sami just wants everyone to get back together, especially Roman and Marlena. Roman says, “Sami, how many times do I have to tell you, I am happily married to Kate. That’s just not gonna happen.”
Just as Lucas walks in, Sami blurts out, “BUT TONY PROMISED!”
Roman asks, “What exactly did Tony promise you?”
Sami can’t answer due to the foot lodged in her mouth.
Kate is concerned about Belle staying committed to Phillip. John assures her he had a long talk with Belle about her vows and she will stay committed.
Shawn tells Belle he isn’t leaving and wants to know, “What’s with the pictures on the door.”
Belle says, “They’re part of Phillip’s recovery.”
Shawn asks, “Is Phillip expecting to be there for you as a husband and are you going to be there for him?” Belle stares.
Nicole calls Chloe to assure her Brady now believes she is dead. She wants to make sure Chloe hasn’t changed her mind. No, Chloe hasn’t.
“All right,” says Nicole, “Here’s what I want you to do. I want you to pack your bags and get ready to leave Salem for good.” Chloe gives us a quizzical little bandaged look.
Tec is on the phone with Lexie. He’s just calling to see how she’s doing, “Well, hang in there and I’ll be in touch later.” He hangs up and turns to look at the guy behind him who just stares.
Rex is trying to figure things out, “What the hell is Mimi keeping from he.”
Marlena puts down the phone. She and Mimi discuss whether or not she should tell Rex the truth, “What could hurt Rex more than seeing you go to jail on the day you were supposed to be married?” Marrying her whiny butt and having to live with that for the rest of his life?
Lucas and Roman grill Sami. She throws them the standard DOOL curve ball, “All right, I’ll tell you the truth.”
“Daddy,” she says, “I’m telling you the truth. Tony was holding me hostage. He wanted me to go to work for him so he could do dastardly deeds to his enemies.”
“OK,” says Roman, “but I have to take you downtown for formal questioning. Tony may have let something slip and we have to know.”
“Dad, that’s not necessary. As much as I wanted to see my parents alive, I would never have willingly helped Tony DiMera.”
“Waitaminute,” says Roman, “Are you saying you may have unwittingly helped Tony?”
Sami wiggles, “No, that’s not what I’m saying. He kept asking me to help and I kept saying no. He got angry at me and was going to kill me, too, and that’s when I got the keys and rescued you, Lucas. You have to believe me.” Lucas stares. Roman flops his tongue around.
Shawn and Belle. Yada, yada. “Phillip is going to need your support over the next few months,” says Shawn, “and what I have to know is... at the end of the day... are you still going to want to be my wife?” Belle stares.
Kate tells John, “Now that Shawn is not around, Belle and Phillip will finally have a chance...” she stops in her tracks and sees Shawn comforting Belle, “OMG, what is he doing here?” John grits his teeth, scowls, squints and his hair stands straight up.
Marlena and Mimi continue their discussion as Mimi twiddles with the folder on Marlena’s desk, which has a neon sign pointing toward it saying, “Marlena’s pregnancy test results.” As Mimi walks away from it, Marlena scoots it away. Mimi gives up in exasperation and leaves, “I have to do this.” Hopefully, they will throw away the key.
Outside Marlena’s office, strange coincidence, Mimi finds Rex, who isn’t giving up on her.
Nicole tells Chloe she has a plane waiting to take her to a wonderful clinic in Switzerland. Since Nancy and Nicole don’t get along, Nicole wants Chloe to convince Nancy. Chloe isn’t sure. Nicole asks, “You don’t want Brady to know the truth, do you?”
Brady thinks, “Let’s stick close to you, Nicole, and see if you will lead me to Chloe.” He notices a phone line is lit up, “Hello, Nicole, who are you talking to?” He starts to pick up the line, but hesitates because he’s good and honest, not evil and conniving like Nicole.
”This is the way it has to be,” says Nicole, “unless you want Brady to find out you are still alive.”
Brady stares at the phone. He picks up.
Rex tells Mimi, “You have to tell me the truth or I can’t help you.”
Mimi says, “There is nothing you can do to help me.” She runs off crying.
Marlena has another bout of morning sickness. She wonders how she will tell John and Roman about the baby as she remembers her advice to Mimi.
Sami tells Roman and Lucas she would never have helped Tony, “Do you believe I am evil?”
“No,” says Roman, “but you don’t exactly have the greatest track record in the world.
“Maybe we should just concentrate on finding clues to get to Stan,” suggests Lucas. Roman has to go. He wants Sami to come down to the station to make a formal statement.
Will comes out and asks Sami about the guilty look on her face, “You’re gonna mess things up again, aren’t you.”
“Not as long as she keeps telling the truth,” says Lucas.
Phillip calls for Belle as Kate laces into Shawn, “You have no right to be here.”
Shawn says he isn’t leaving. “Belle needs me.”
Inside his room, Phillip tells Belle, “I dreamt Shawn was here to take you away from me.” Belle pledges her undying love and support as Shawn stares through the window.
FF on the confused Shawn.

Tek says over Lexie’s shoulder, “The man can’t make love to his wife. That’s Abe’s real problem.” Lexie turns around to see Abe staring. Abe says, “Did I hear my name?”
Jack asks Lexie what is the prognosis. “Not good,” says Lexie. “What’s that,” asks Jack, “Doctor-speak for ‘I’m dying?’”
The doctor tells Phillip, “Once they realize it’s never going to be like it was, they take off.”
Shawn tells Belle, “I need to know if you are committed to having a future with me.”

If Only...
U.S. MIMITARY HOSPITAL, WIESBADEN, GERMANY: As the days pass after Phillip's amputation, he begins to realize he has a lot to live for. His attitude improves and his recovery is quick and complete. Doctors fit Phillip with a state-of-the-art prosthetic. Once again he can run, jump and move as if nothing had happened. Phillip decides to stay with the Marines and becomes a key figure in the military space program.
Phillip excels in his new role. His work is so impressive the Military selects him to be the ground control commander of the single most ambitious undertaking in human history — a mission to the star Alpha Centauri. Although the mission will take generations and only our descendents will know its true impact, everyone realizes it is very significant.
On the day of the launch Major Phillip Kiriakis stands beneath the gleaming Titan VI rocket and its small payload in the capsule several stories above. He contemplates the adventure ahead as he enters the ground control command center.
The countdown proceeds. Slowly the beast lifts off the launch pad. History's greatest mission has begun.
Months later, the capsule which was atop the Titan VI drifts through space toward a tiny point of light, Alpha Centauri. It is now completely out of earth-contact for the next millennium.
Inside, the young commander removes his space helmet. He checks to make sure all systems are nominal. He turns to his co-pilot who is not wearing a helmet. Their eyes meet.
"I love you so much, Belle," he says.
"And I love you, Shawn," she says, "And I promise, the minute we get back I am going to tell Phillip, and then we can finally be with each other."
Shawn stares.

Miss Fidelity
Mimi tells Rex she isn’t changing her plea. All the evidence is against her. They just need to hope Jan doesn’t die, “Then instead of walking down the aisle with you I’ll be heading to Statesville.”
Rex asks, “Are you finished?”
“Yes,” says Mimi, “And so are we. Permanently.”
Billie computes, “There are over a million teen websites in this state alone. Let one of them lead us to Georgia. This is a longshot but... it just got a little bit shorter. OMG.”
Hope tells Bo Shawn won’t be in Germany with Belle he’ll be here for her. That was so profound.
Bo says, “Belle is married to Phillip, or have you and your son forgotten that?”
Kate tells Phillip when they got the news Belle couldn’t get there fast enough. It’s great he’ll get to recover at the Salem Free Clinic instead of crummy old Walter Reed.
John tells Belle he’s glad she’s there for Phillip. Belle says she is there for the long term. When she looks at Marlena as an example she knows how important fidelity and commitment are in a marriage.
Miss Fidelity herself meets with her friend Karen. They talk about the “something special” Marlena and John share. Marlena needs a consult. She shows Karen the pregnancy test. Marlena’s patient is a little over two months pregnant.
Karen says, “This doesn't look good at all.”
Kate comes out and tells Belle Phillip is asking for her. He is also asking for John. They all go in. Phillip appreciates the strings John pulled so he can do his recovery in Salem. John says he has gone through a tough recovery period himself and, “It’s important to have your loved ones around.”
They talk about John and Marlena renewing their wedding vows. Belle asks if this is because John and Kate are feeling guilty. Phillip is all ears to hear what this is all about.
Karen says this is a high-risk pregnancy, “We’re talking about a bed-rest pregnancy.” The good news just keeps pouring in. “The chances of carrying the pregnancy to term are not so good.”
Mimi tells Rex he has to accept her pending prison term. He has to move on. Rex wants to fight to get her acquitted. He won’t give up. He offers to pawn her engagement ring if she doesn’t need it any more. Mimi balks.
Ho and Dope continue their conversation. Bo reminds Hope of the wedding vows Belle and Phillip took, “I want to see our son happy but not at the expense of someone else’s marriage.”
Hope says, “Their marriage was a mistake. What happened to Phillip was horrible but it’s not a reason for Shawn to live a lie. You’re worried about what will happen to Phillip but I’m also worried about what will happen to Shawn. He loves Belle.”
“And she loves Phillip.”
“Not the same way,” insists Hope.
Bo says, “You don’t know that. You’re not inside her head.” There isn’t room.
Hope says, “Since Belle has been back in Shawn’s life he has been so much more centered, Bo.”
“Yeah,” says Bo, “and he ran off to a war zone.” Good point.
Hope says, “He is afraid he is going to lose her to Phillip like I was afraid I was going to lose you to Billie.”
“I had no idea I’d run into this,” says Billie, “I have to show Bo right away.”
Kate tells Phillip she and John became close when they thought Marlena and Roman were dead. Now that they are back they are all going to recommit to their vows. Kate suggests Belle and Phillip could renew theirs too.
“We don’t need to,” says Phillip, “After I was injured I asked Shawn to look after Belle for me.”
Kate is shocked. “That’s like asking the fox to guard henhouse.”
Marlena gives the details on the pregnant patient. Her husband doesn’t know about the pregnancy.
Karen observes, “Happily married women usually tell their husbands about a pregnancy before they tell their therapist. You’re asking me to give advice on a patient I haven’t seen. She needs an appointment with an OB-GYN.”
“No,” says Marlena, “I need to tell you the truth. The patient is me.” Karen stares.
Hope asks Bo if true love is worth fighting for.
Bo says, “If Shawn leaves the country he’s jumping bail. That gets him in more trouble. Is breaking up this marriage more important than that?”
“If you would have wanted to stop him, you could have,” says Hope.
“I tried.”
“Not very hard,” says Hope, “You would have done the same thing.”
Bo says, “He already lost her. She’s married. Shawn isn’t going over there to be supportive. He’s going over there to stake a claim. Three people in a marriage – it’s disaster.” Yeah, who does he think he is, Mickey?
Doorbell. Billie. She’s looking for Bo. She gets a cool reception from Hope, “Billie, you are the last thing Bo and I need right now.”
Rex has instantly prepared a romantic dinner. Mimosas and other stuff Mimi won’t get in prison.
Mimi says, “I’ll miss you and my friends and family. But I am guilty and I will pay.”
Rex says, “Only one thing left to do.” He flicks the stereo on with the remote and it starts playing I Got You Babe. We are treated to the flashback of Rex singing it. Pray for your sound system to blow before this scene.
Mercifully, we are back to Sonny and Cher. Mimi takes him out into the room to dance. Hugs. Stares.
With hope about to attack Billie at the door, Bo says, "Let's just find out what she wants."
Hope says, "Fine, then she can get the hell out. The sooner the better." Billie just stands there and smirks.
Phillip assures Kate Shawn won’t come between Belle and him. He has forgiven Shawn because he organized the rescue mission. “Shawn risked his life for me. Belle’s happiness is important to him, which is why he wanted to bring me home to her. Shawn is a hero. He’s had some problems in the past. But his actions have given me a whole new level of respect for him.”
They talk about John. Marlena, Kate and Roman renewing their vows.
Karen asks, “Why didn’t you tell me it was you?”
“I don’t know,” says Marlena, “You won’t say anything will you?”
“No,” says Karen, “John will be happy to have another baby with you. With constant monitoring, diet and bed rest you can make it through this. I want to check a few things on your chart... You are two months along. You haven’t been back that long. That’s why you haven’t told John.”
“That’s right,” says Marlena. She drops the bomb, “It’s not John’s baby. It’s Roman's.”
Rex knows they can get through this together. He begs Mimi not to give up on them. Rex says, "You're going to be a fantastic mother. Are you sure you want to throw all that away?"
"I already have," says Mimi.
Billie says she found a website for kids who have been adopted and want to find their biological parents. All Bo has to do is sign some papers and they can join up. He signs.
Shawn calls. Hope wishes him good luck, “Call when you get to Germany.”
BINGO. Billie freaks, “Phillip is my brother. I don’t want Shawn breaking up his marriage.”
Hope says, “That’s rich coming from you.”
Billie turns to Bo, “I can’t believe you agree with this... You don’t do you? Bo, You know I’m right don’t you. I can see it in your eyes.”
Rex tells Mimi he wants to adopt. No one could ever be a better mother than Mimi.
Mimi says, “Rex, stop! Don’t you think I want kids and to be a family. It can’t happen. My life is over. I tried to kill Jan and I’m going to jail.” She storms out. Rex stares.
Hope says, “I believe you have what you came for and I would appreciate it if you would leave.”
“Fine,” says Billie, “but I will not let Shawn become between Belle and Phillip.”
Billie leaves. Hope explodes.
Bo says, “This could end badly for Shawn. I’m not taking Billie’s side in front of you but...”
Hope interrupts, “Your silence said it all. We’ll just have to wait to see what happens when Shawn gets to Germany.”
Belle says Shawn wanted to fly over with them to see Phillip. Gee, Kate doesn’t think that would have been a very good idea. The nurse asks everyone to leave while she changes Phillips dressings.
We get one more reassurance from Belle she will be there for him. Everyone leaves.
Outside, Belle says she is warred about Phillip.
“Mood swings and depression are typical,” says John.
“I love him,” says Belle, “And I love Shawn.” She changes the subject. More on the renewed vows. Belle says, "You two will be back together the way it's supposed to be and we can forget this year ever happened." John and Kate give each other "a look".
Marlena says, “John trusted me. I don’t know what this will do to him. I never meant this to happen. We were locked in that castle. I became despondent. Roman was trying to be strong for me. We became dependent emotionally and it became physical. I should have told John immediately when we got back.”
Karen suggests, “You don’t have to have this baby. They would never know.”
“I couldn’t do that,” says Marlena, “So what are my options? I could tell him the truth and risk destroying our marriage or keep it to myself until I know I can carry it to term. Why didn’t I tell him in the beginning? Do you think John could ever forgive me?”
“You’re going to have to tell him the truth,” says Karen.

Brady to Mummy: "I know all about your scars and I don't care. Don't you know how much I love you?" A million bucks says this is a fantasy.
Shawn to Belle: "What I want to know, is at the end of the day are you still going to be my wife?"
Rex to Mimi: I know you're keeping something from me. Tell me what it is right now." Mimi: "Please don't do this."
Sami to Pard (With Lucas hovering in the background): "What would be perfect is if you and Mom got back together." Pard: "Sami, that's not going to happen." Sami: "Tony PROMISED me....." Oops! Everyone stares.
