Down Goes Phillip!
Mimi is nervous before her surgery. Rex tries to reassure her. Bonnie runs in asking if Mimi is going to die. That really helps. Rex tells Mimi to remember how much he loves her. The doc comes in. She says Mimi won’t feel a thing. They wheel her in.
Bonnie says, "This is all my fault." Rex stares.
Phillip says a firefight is unavoidable. That’s why he’s going in alone. It’s too risky for all of them to go in together. Phillip wants to burn alone. Jake tries to get him to think about Belle, “How will she feel if she loses you?”
Kate bawls out Belle and Shawn, “How could you do this to your husband? I thought you would be the perfect wife. That didn’t last too long, did it? I couldn’t tell your father about this, with the condition he's in.”
Belle picks up on this, “Kate there’s something you’re not telling me.”
John writhes. He contemplates the drugs. He sweats. He flashes back to Stami offering him the drugs. He pulls one of the pills from the baggie and takes it. Melts in your mouth, not in your hand.
Hope says Billie can stay but just for a day or two. No romantic evening, though. Billie comes in, “I am sorry to interrupt...” Bo tells her the guest room is all hers. They say goodnight.
Bo doesn’t want this to ruin their romantic evening. Hope isn’t in the mood. Bo snivels. Bo begs.
Billie thinks, “If Hope keeps driving Bo away, I’ll be there.”
Billie unpacks, “What would our lives have been like if we had stayed together?” She imagines coming home with Bo on their anniversary. He carries her across her threshold. Georgia helped him set up an anniversary party. They have the house to themselves. They toast each other with sparkling cider. This is over the top. Bo asks Billie, “Will you marry me again?”
Billie broods, “If only we could have stayed together, but your other wife came back and you’ll always choose to be with Hope.”
Hope puts the other necklace on Bo. Bo is going to make it up to her. He turns on music. From the new DOOL love songs album, no doubt. They dance.
Billie hears the music upstairs.
Hope just isn’t in the mood.
John pukes. He tells himself, “I can’t take any more of these drugs. Who the hell was that guy? How did he get into my house? “
Belle wants to know what is wrong with John. Kate flashes back to John saying he doesn’t want Belle to know he’s a lowlife junkie. Kate lies, “He’s in terrible pain from his injuries on the island. But I’m not going to tell him you’re breaking your vows to your husband.”
She turns to Shawn, “She’s a married woman. You should be out of her life.”
Shawn leaves to change. Belle tells Kate, “I’m in love with Shawn. But Phillip is coming home and I am not going to be intimate with Shawn until I tell Phillip in person.”
Kate is surprised, “What do you mean he’s coming home? Has something happened?”
Belle tells Kate the story of the special mission of death. “So,” says Kate, “He’s defending his country and you’re planning to break his heart when he comes home. That’s unforgivable. I don’t see how you can live with yourself.”
Once Phillip infiltrates the enemy stronghold he will be able to download intelligence. The way he's conducting this mission, I'd say he needs some intelligence. Jake says if the enemy catches him he is as good as dead.
Kate tells Belle it isn’t too late. If she hasn’t been intimate with Shawn, nothing has changed with Phillip. Belle says when Phillip comes home she’s going to ask for an annulment.
“If you leave Phillip for Shawn you both will pay a heavy price,” snaps Kate.
Shawn comes in. Kate laces into him, “You have no right to be here with her. She’s married.”
Kate leaves. Shawn asks Belle, “What did you expect her to say? She’s Phillip’s mom.” Belle wonders if they didn’t make a huge mistake. Shawn asks if Kate changed Belle’s mind. Belle stares.
Bonnie tells Rex she feels responsible, “I haven’t always been the greatest mom to Mimi. And now she is suffering because of me.” Bonnie flashes back to her phone call to Mimi, “There are ways to get UN-pregnant!”
“What did you tell her to do,” asks Rex.
“She’s under,” says the surgeon. Mimi dreams. She’s having a baby. She’s delivering twins. Back to reality. The doctor says, “I don’t like what I’m seeing.”
Hope turns off the music. She can’t do this with Billie upstairs. Bo says they will make other arrangements. Hope doesn’t want to live with the guilt of Billie going back to jail. “We’re stuck,” she says. Bo flashes his teeth. In the kitchen, Hope tells Bo she doesn’t trust Billie. She wants Bo to understand what she is feeling.
Bo says he is upset, too. “Bottom line, you’re my wife, you’re my future. Can we get back to our romantic evening,” asks the sensitive, empathetic Bo.
Billie sulks, “If we had stayed together, we’d be celebrating our anniversary tonight.” She goes back to their anniversary fantasy, “You are the only man I want to spend my life with, now and forever.” They kiss. He carries her upstairs.
John clutches the drugs. Kate comes back. He hides them under the pillow. Kate asks what woke him up since he was sleeping so soundly when she left. “I’m not sure,” he lies. Kate straightens the pillows. BUSTED!
No, not busted. She found the rosary. John clutches the drugs on the other side of the bed. “Everything’s fine,” he says, “Could you get me some water?”
Kate leaves. John hides the stash in the dresser drawer. Kate comes back in, “I know you’re going to beat this. You’ve already been through the worst part.”
He asks where she went tonight.
Shawn tells Belle she can’t let Kate put her on a guilt trip just so she will stay marred with Phillip, “Most people won’t understand but we are doing this for our future. We have to tell Phillip the truth no matter how much it will hurt him.”
Phillip barks instructions. “Good luck Kiriakis,” says Jake, “You’re going to need it.” Phillip charges as his buddies cover with backup fire. Dramatic music. Flashes of gunfire. DOWN GOES PHILLIP! DOWN GOES PHIILLIP!
Bo continues to try to convince hope. He’s trying the “I’ll make you feel safe and loved” route. He picks her up and carries her upstairs. OK this might work.
Billie dreams of Bo tossing her onto the bed. “Every time we make love it’s like the first time and I love you even more,” says Bo.
Billie hears Bo and Hope next door. She opens the adjoining door and peeks in. Bo carries Hope in. Billie closes the door. Bo and hope dance around the bed. Hope flashes back to finding Bo and Billie NAKED IN THE BATHROOM. She can’t do this with Billie in the next room. Curses, foiled again.
Mimi pushes. The second baby is coming. Bonnie runs in and says the first one is beautiful, “This makes up for the baby you got rid of!”
Back to so-called reality. Bonnie sobs, “I told Mimi to wait to have a family. That was a mistake.”
"Mimi didn’t lie to me," says Rex.
"Of course she didn’t lie," says Bonnie, "It was probably the damn procedure."
“What procedure,” asks Rex.
“Did I say procedure,” asks Bonnie, “I was talking about the tests she had in the hospital. I just pray she will be OK. I know how much she loves you. I heard you proposed. Now she’s in surgery. I still hope all her dreams can come true.”
If she lives... The surgery continues. The dream continues. Bonnie says Rex isn’t upset that Mimi never told him about the first pregnancy. Rex comes up. Mimi has made him happy. He loves the new family, “I promise you all the Days Of Our Lives will be perfect from now on.”
Reality again. The doc says, “I’m not looking forward to telling Mimi the bad news.”
Belle calls the hospital. Mimi’s still in OR. Belle hopes Mimi will be all right. She tells Shawn it makes her feel guilty having him there with her. Shawn assures her Phillip (the late Phillip?) wouldn’t want her to stay in a loveless marriage. Belle stares.
John asks Kate what’s wrong. Kate says she went to check on Belle. She tells John about Phillip’s special mission. John says, “If Phillip is getting a special leave, the fact is he is on a very dangerous mission.”
If he lives... Phillip struggles to reach his helmet. “Kiriakis you’re a lucky bastard,” he tells himself as he sees the hole in his helmet. He calls Jake, “I’m pinned down. Jake doesn’t want to be an old ‘I told you so’ but...
"FREEZE!" Phillip looks into the cold eyes of the enemy.
They wheel Mimi out. She asks where the twins are. People don’t understand what she is talking about. The doc tells her she has bad news. Mimi stares.
Bo continues to beg. Hope just can’t, with his ex wife in the next room. Bo goes downstairs. Hope runs after him, “BO!” Billie comes out into the hall. They have a staring contest. Billie smirks and goes back into her room
Belle says, “Maybe this can work out and we can be happy. But we can’t be together until we tell Phillip the truth.”
Phillip has hand-to-hand combat with his captors. DOWN GOES PHILLIP! DOWN GOES PHILLIP!
Belle and Shawn stare out the window. Shawn says they will put their relationship on hold for Phillip’s sake.
Triple freeze-frame on Belle, Shawn, Phillip.

The Belle/Shawn (Belch) "romance" would have been a lot more compelling if they had just pined for each other from a distance - been noble and suffering and all that rot. This constant, constant pressure from Shawn is just sleezy and disgusting.
"Melts in your mouth, not in your hands".....another gem of a Prevuze!
I agree about Shawn/Belle and how low they've both sunk! Talk about two unlikeable characters. As much as I dislike Kate, for once she was right to blast them for their behavior. "Belch" need to ride off into the sunset, ala Mike and Carrie, and let Phil have a girlfriend that is actually worthy.
