Too Much Oprah

It's the middle of the night in Salem. Bo's machines beep. Ava sneaks up to his bed, "I really hate when people mess with me." She injects something into his IV and the machines go berserk to match Ava's personality.

Hope wakes with a start.

Patch paces and talks to himself, "Hang on Hope. I'm gonna get you outta here – one room at a time, if I have to." He checks out the window, "It's not gonna be a window, is it? They've got them all buttoned up. Who am I kidding? I'm not gonna get outta here. How the hell did I get us into this mess?"

Bo tells Kayla the DVD is footage from a surveillance camera in the hospital parking lot. Kayla wants to see it right away, "Sounds a lot more exciting than watching DOOL."

Nicole dreams and giggles. "Ooh," she squeals, "That tickles. But don't stop." Phillip stands outside the door and says he wants to talk to her.

Nicole protests, but Phillip barges in. He tells her Austrian consulate authorities came and hauled Chloe off this evening. He thinks she had something to do with it.

"But the Austrian consulate doesn't have any authority to do that in the US," says Nicole.

"Don't cloud the issue with facts," says Phillip.

Kayla gives the play by play as she and Bo watch cars pull in and out of the parking lot. They see Hope's car with Ava at the wheel. They find Hope in the back seat. Kayla says, "Looks like she's slumped over."

Bo grits, "What the hell did they do to her?"

Bo says they have to figure out where they are headed.

"How," asks Kayla.

"Damn good question," says Bo.

Patch rambles, "Sweetness, When this whole thing is over I'm gonna tell you everything, right before you kick me to the curb." Flashback to a hot time with Ava. Ava tells him, "There is so much more to you than you pretend to be. More than meets the eye. You have the heart of a very good man."

"I think you've been watching too much Oprah," says Patch. Ava knows he would never hurt her. She knows he will always be there to protect her, But not in an obsessive and controlling way."

"No," says Patch, "I'm saving that for Kayla. You should feel safe with me. You are my angel. You saved my life."

"You saved mine, too," says Ava, "In ways you'll never know." Patch dives in for round two.

Patch snaps out of it. He huffs and puffs.

Nicole claims she doesn't know what Phillip is talking about. She asks him to leave. Phillip tells her to pack her bags and hit the road. Nicole claims she had nothing to do with Chloe's situation. Phillip accuses her of lying. Nicole thinks Chloe is still ghoul girl. Phillip insists Chloe didn't kill Brady. He wants Nicole out.

"How can you be so heartless," asks Nicole.

Phillip insists he's not heartless, "It's one of the few body parts I have left. How can you be such a vindictive bitch?" Phillip says Victor wants her out. Nicole decides to call EJ.

Bo and Kayla whine about all the things they don't know about where Hope is. Suddenly, Bo has an epiphany, "BRIDGES! You have to cross a bridge to go any where in Salem. After 9-11 they installed security cameras." Bo, of course, has a Friend who can help with them. He calls him and asks for footage from all bridge surveillance cameras, "Check out all the cars crossing all the bridges in Salem and look for the license plate Uniform Alpha Foxtrot Eight Six Niner." They must have the biggest license plates in the country.

Bo's buddy reminds him that nearly a half million cars cross the bridges in Salem every day. "That's why I'm giving you an extra ten minutes to do this," says Bo.

Patch broods and flashes back to round two. He can't get enough of Ava. She's amazing. She's beautiful, smart, brave and puts up with him. He thinks she could do better. She insists he's the best guy ever, "I love you and I know we belong together for all the Days Of Our Lives. Marry me."

Back to – ahem – reality. We zone in on Patch's good eye.

Nicole calls EJ. Groggy EJ mumbles, "It's the middle of the night. What time is it?"

"Time for you to get your butt over here," says Nicole, "It's urgent." EJ resists, but she talks him into it, then looks straight at Phillip and says into her phone, "I knew you wouldn't let me down."

Bo can't take much more of this. He turns off DOOL. Kayla decides she's hungry and heads behind the counter for a piece of pie, "I always feel like I need to nibble when I'm nervous."

Bo watches as she bends over to hunt under the counter, "You must be a very nervous person."

Bo's buddy calls back to tell him he found Hope's car crossing one of the bridges. Bo thanks him and hangs up. He turns to Kayla, "Hope's car went into Brookville." Kayla rambles about Brookville. Apparently it's a huge metropolis and finding Hope there would be nearly impossible, "But somebody must know something."

"You just said the magic word," says Bo.

"Isn't a duck supposed to drop from the ceiling," asks Kayla.

Hope sleeps. She dreams about Ava coming to see Kayla. "I'm here to make good on my promises," says Ava, "Patch loves me not you."

Kayla backs away nervously chomping pie like there is no tomorrow, "If you hurt me, you hurt this innocent baby."

"The only one he's going to have a baby with is me," says Ava. Kayla says if Ava lets her go, she'll let Patch go. Ava accuses her of lying. She picks Kayla up and tosses her out of a window.

SSCCRREEAAMMMMMMM! Kayla drops like a ten ton rock. She needs to cut down on the pie.

Phillip wonders when EJ became a lawyer, "Was that before or after he was a world-famous racecar driver?"

Nicole muses, "Hmmmm... EJ is multitalented. I wonder what else he's good at." She fixes a martini as EJ shows up.

EJ eyes Nicole's negligee, "Now I understand why you didn't meet me downstairs." Nicole tells EJ Phillip is trying to kick her out. She needs EJ to tell him he can't.

"Couldn't I have done that over the phone," asks EJ.

I can't showcase my negligee over the phone," says Nicole."

Bo knows someone who will talk if the price is right. "Too bad it's not Maggie," says Kayla, "She'll talk for free."

Hope dreams. She and Bo are at the dock. Bo tells her she can't go with him. He's going to go see OMB and their little boy. Hope begs him not to leave, but Bo walks into the mist.

Hope wakes, "I gotta get outta here."

EJ says if Phillip touches Nicole he will charge him with assault, "Nicole has a legitimate claim to be here as Victor's wife." Phillip thinks Nicole is a menace. He tells EJ she had Chloe arrested. EJ says that has nothing to do with the matter at hand, "Just because she's the biggest pain any man ever stumbled across is irrelevant."

"Thank you," says Nicole, "I think."

"I was talking about Chloe," says EJ.

Bo and Kayla pool their money. Bo hopes it's enough. Bo's shady buddy Earl arrives. Bo asks him about the Vitalis as he forks over $200. Earl says he doesn't put his neck on the line for 200. Bo gives him $50 more and says that's all he's got. Earl says that's not enough. Bo reasons with Earl. He grabs him by the lapels, slams him against a table and screams, "IF YOU DON'T START TALKING I'LL BREAK YOU IN HALF!"

Patch remembers more about Ava's proposal. "I want us to grow old together," says Ava.

"I did it without you," says Patch."

Ava says she never thought she could trust a man enough to marry him, but he taught her what love really is. She promises to be a good wife. Patch knows she would be a great wife. He worries about her father. Ava says she doesn't need his blessing. She wants to forget the big wedding and go to Vegas. She wants to have his babies. She wants a little boy that looks just like him.

"Do they make patches that small," asks Patch, "I want a little girl that looks just like you – the most beautiful girl I have ever known. I said I would never leave you, so where is that chapel?" Hugs and giggles.

Patch pops out of it and goes to the door. He calls for Angelo.

Phillip tells Nicole this isn't over. EJ starts to leave but Nicole stops him and thanks him. He tells her there is a hefty surcharge for bringing him over in the middle of the night. Nicole thinks it's worth it now that her stepson knows he can't get rid of her that easily.

Bo roughs up Earl. Suddenly, Earl feels a little more talkative. Poor Earl didn't realize this was about Bo's wife. He says the Vitalis have a compound North of Brookville, "That doesn't mean that's where they have your wife. If you go in there with your temper, she's dead."

"You mean it would be that easy," asks Bo.

Hope ransacks the desk in her room.

Outside Nicole's room Phillip asks why EJ is taking Nicole's case. EJ says he likes a challenge. Phillip says he will find a way to get her out of there. "You're stuck with Nicole," says EJ, "The law is the law."

"You must be working for Mickey if you're handing out advice like that," says Phillip.

Earl warns Bo again. On the way out he says the Vitali compound is built like a fort. If Bo tries to get in he'll probably end up dead. Earl leaves. Bo vows to get Hope. Kayla insists she is in this too. They argue about who is the sickest and who should go to rescue Hope. Kayla says if Bo goes out that door without her she will call the police. Bo caves in. George and Gracie take off on their excellent adventure.

Patch tells Angelo he and Ava were close back in the day, "She wasn't like this. Now she's sick. She needs a doctor." Angelo says Patch is the reason she is the way she is. Patch knows, but insists he didn't mean to hurt her. If it weren't for Ava's orders, Angelo would kill Patch with his bare hands.

Patch considers his situation, "That would be better than what Kayla will do when she finds out about Ava."
