Black Widow
Sami fiddles with the baby monitor and EJ comes in and says he thinks Ali was just fidgety. Sami says she called and the nurse thinks she's teething. EJ thinks the problem is that Ali misses him. Sami reminds him Ali is Lucas' daughter. EJ reminds Sami Lucas is in the hoosegow. He wonders what else has her upset.
"Where should I start," asks Sami, "Lucas in prison. I'm living in this creepy house and Mom is off on her soul searching trip."
John interrupts, "If Marlena hasn't found her soul by now it's unlikely she'll find one on this trip. Elvis and I may be evil DiMeras but we're hardly on the same side."
Goon-boy brings Hope in to see Steve. Hope tells him the whole complex is on high alert.
Outside, Angelo tells Ava there is an intruder. Ava worries someone is coming for Hope/Kayla and Patch. Patch eavesdrops and tells Hope it may be good news.
The gimp squad creeps up to the house as dogs bark and alarms go off.
John explains. He says his nephew is working for the enemy – Mickey Horton, and he's thinking of taking Nicole as a client.
Sami gets her hackles up, "Nicole! She's a low life slut who's never met a man or a wallet she doesn't like." John is surprised EJ would take Nicole's side.
Bo and Kayla hide in the bushes. Kayla takes time off from exacerbating her problem pregnancy to lecture him for not being in any condition to do this. Bo argues and says he doesn't want her going in alone.
Patch and Hope listen through the door as Angelo explains the perimeter has been breached. Angelo is worried Daddy will find out who Ava is harboring. Ava freaks, "If Daddy finds out, they'll lock me up for a long time."
"Right," says Angelo, "They'd lock anyone up who was trying to get back together with Patch. So you know what we gotta do."
"Angelo may be calling the shots," says Patch.
Hope asks, "What do you think is going to happen?"
Patch says, "This is DOOL, nothing is going to happen."
Hope asks, "You think she's gonna kill us?"
Sami hears Johnny crying over the monitor and leaves. EJ tells John Nicole is a Kiriakis in name only, and may have more of a grudge against Victor than John does. They discuss Nicole's property rights.
John asks some sensitive questions and EJ says he has to honor her privacy. Sami comes back out and overhears, "You're gonna honor Nicole's privacy?"
EJ says, "I'm taking the case."
John drones, "I haven't decided if I'm going to let you."
Ava thinks Daddy will go ballistic if he finds out, but She doesn't want any more blood on her hands.
"Wear gloves," says Angelo, "We have to do everything we can to keep Daddy from finding out."
Patch and Hope brew a plan. Patch pounds on the door and tells Ava to open up. Ava doesn't think it's a good idea. Patch plays his trump card, "It's about us."
Bo and Kayla argue over whose plan to use... the one where they spread his pancreas all over the ground or the one where she has her miscarriage right there on the spot. They decide they just have to go in to get them. Kayla's all for that, so the goofball walks out of the bushes and right into the spotlight as Bo has a conniption, "KAY! NO!"
Too late. The two goons descend on Kayla. One of them holds a gun on her and shouts, "FREEZE! Well, look what we've got here."
Kayla says, "I want to see Ava, now!" Bo watches from the bushes and contemplates shooting her himself.
Peanut considers his situation, "Oh well, life probably wasn't gong to be as great as it was cracked up to be anyway."EJ questions what business John has in determining his clients. John isn't sure if he wants his nephew working for "a Kiriakis on her way out." John says he's the head of the family, so he can make decisions like that.
"Who do you think you are," says EJ, "Tony Soprano?"
John asks, "Am I related to him, too?"
EJ says John has no say in his decision. He doesn't take orders from people like John. John reminds him he's willing to live under his roof. That does it. EJ thinks it's time for Sami and him to leave.
Patch begs Ava to open up. Angelo protests but Ava makes him open the door. Inside, Patch says, "I just want to talk about us. I'm ready for us to be together again."
Ava nods toward Hope/Kayla, "What about her?"
Patch says, "I've explained things to her – were finished." Ava doesn't buy it. She says this isn't a good time and starts to spill the beans about the intruders, but Angelo shuts her up. Patch pulls out all the stops and talks about how good they were together.
Ava remembers the good times when they said they loved each other more than anything and when they decided to get married and have little patchettes. As Ava snaps out of it, she scowls. Angelo asks if she is OK. She says she is. Patch asks her to run away with him. Ava says she wants to, but there is the Hope/Kayla problem. Patch urges her to let Hope/Kayla go. Ava isn't sure she can do that. Suddenly, the headaches hit her hard. She flails around the room like a pinball. Patch grabs her as Hope/Kayla eyes Angelo's gun.
The goons frisk Kayla. It's a big job. It takes both of them. Kayla demands to see Ava. Bo watches and draws his gun. She tells them she's there to see her husband Steve. She's says she's his real wife and wants to talk to Ava right now.
Sami argues about leaving. She really doesn't want to live with John, but doesn't trust EJ either. John soaks it in as they argue.
Sami tees off on EJ's choice of clients, "Nicole is a black widow."
"I just want to provide for my family," says EJ.
Sami asks, "We have no money and have nowhere to go and you want to leave tonight? That's irresponsible. I won't leave." John toys with his chess set and smirks.
Patch separates Angelo and Ava. He asks Ava what's going on. Ava says she doesn't want any more blood on her hands. She refuses to take her meds. Patch tells Angelo to back off. Angelo tosses Patch like a rag doll. Patch counter punches. Angelo dives for his gun and gets to it before Hope/Kayla.
One of the goons wonders what will happen to Kayla, "You think Angelo will have us cap her?" The other goon can't get Angelo on the radio. As they start to take her off, Bo jumps out of the bushes dragging his pancreas behind him. Fresh out of the hospital and barely able to walk on his own, Bo takes down both goons. Bo's pancreas lies in the dirt and throbs.
John guesses Sami isn't a fan of Nicole. EJ gives John a family history lesson. He tells him Sami's brother Eric used to date Nicole and she dumped him for Lucas. Sami interjects the fact that Kate paid Nicole to marry Lucas, "and Lucas became a raging alcoholic when they were married."
EJ says Lucas drank because Sami lied on the stand and said Lucas hit Will. Sami tells John she will never forgive Nicole. She also says Nicole made life tough for Brady. She will never understand why EJ is willing to help her. A baby cries. It's EJ's turn to leave.
John's compassion is boundless, "I can arrange a nanny for your rugrats if you like." Sami prefers to look after them herself. "I understand you feel like you're trapped here," says John.
Sami thinks for a second he sounded like the old John when he figured that out. John understands she doesn't want anyone in her life to be involved with Nicole. He assures her she is safe in his house. He asks if Marlena talked to her before she left.
Bo cuffs and ties up the goons. Kayla throws away the key. She asks how Bo is doing. "Not so good," says Bo.
"Don't worry about me," shouts Peanut, "I'm fine."
The walking wounded head for the homestead.
Angelo sneers, "You threw Ava away like yesterday's trash."
"That's not true," says Patch, "Yesterday wasn't trash day."
"You left her," says Angelo, "and I'm going to get revenge with my bare hands."
POW! Patch rolls across the room.
Time passes. Patch wakes up. He's alone with Hope and woozy. Being alone with Hope does that to anybody.
Angelo and Ava come back into the room. Angelo announces, "Ava made this mess and I'm about to clean it up. We're gonna play a game..."
The radio interrupts. The garbled voice on the other end tells Angelo they just found two of their goons konked out, "Whoever entered is still inside."
Angelo says, "Bring them to me. If they resist, shoot them."
The garbled voice asks, "Why would we want to shoot our own men?"
Sami says Marlena didn't have much to say before she left. She doesn't know where she went, "She just needs time to think."
"Right," says John, "What sort of conclusion do you think she'll come to?"
"I don't know," says Sami, "But I'd rather you stop messing with my head. It's enough of a mess already." She turns and leaves.
John thinks, "Messing with your head... Not likely. I just want... never mind."
Angelo tells Igor to find the intruders. He asks Ava how she is doing. Ava dunno. Angelo tells her to stay put as he goes to check the situation. She hugs him and says she's sorry she's causing all these problems. As she does, she reaches into his pocket and pulls out his set of keys. Angelo leaves.
Ava remembers the confab she had with Hope/Kayla and Patch. She goes in to see them as Hope/Kayla and Patch struggle against the restraints. Ava says she can't help them. Patch vows undying love and says he wants to go away with her. Ava says she knows he never meant any of that, "Can you at least admit you never loved me? It's always been Kayla, hasn't it?"
Patch is silent. Then he asks, "Do you see my Guy Manual around here anywhere? "
Ava goes on, "The intruders are here for you and Kayla right?"
George and Gracie stand at the door with their heavy artillery pointed at Ava. "That's right," says Bo. Patch breathes a sigh of relief.
John tells EJ he's reconsidered. EJ thinks that's big of him. John says he detected a hint of jealousy in Sami over Nicole, "It would kill her to lose another man to that woman. Even you." EJ thanks him. "Never say I don't look out for my family," says John.
Kayla stuffs a gun under the couch cushion as Bo unties Patch and Hope. She puts a flashing neon sign above the spot pointing to the pistol. The sign blinks, "GUN... GUN..."
Patch hugs Kayla, "Oh... Sweetness!"
Ava is confused, "Who the hell are you?"
Kayla turns, "I'm Kayla. That's my sister-in-law Hope. You kidnapped the wrong person."
So all ends well. The gimp squad has rescued Hope and Patch and everyone will live happily ever after.
Uh-oh. Waitaminute... They turn to head for home but... YOU GUESSED IT... Kayla doubles over with cramps.
Ava runs over to the flashing neon sign and grabs the gun. She whirls and points it toward Hope.
BANG!
Down goes Hope.

The gimp squad creeps up to the house as dogs bark and alarms go off.
“The gimp squad”, I love it!!!
Ava freaks, "If Daddy finds out, they'll lock me up for a long time."
"Right," says Angelo, "They'd lock anyone up who was trying to get back together with Patch.”
…yet another extremely perceptive Prevuze observation.
Patch says, "This is DOOL, nothing is going to happen."
Apparently, Patch is watching the same program we are.
"Who do you think you are," says EJ, "Tony Soprano?"
John asks, "Am I related to him, too?"
That was actually funny, and it’s not a Prevuisum. Will wonders never cease?
"Can you at least admit you never loved me? It's always been Kayla, hasn't it?"
Patch is silent. Then he asks, "Do you see my Guy Manual around here anywhere? "
Obviously, Prevuze has read “The Guy Manual, and once again proves that endless research is done to bring the faithful accurate reporting. Today, we even get a history lesson and news that Belle and Shawn sink an iceberg. Are they really the inconvenient truth linked to global warming? Just asking. Great Prevuze today!!!
Many LOL moments today. Besides the ones that Leslie has already co-opted for her comments there were the picture of Marlena's work schedule and Kayla's meltdown. Loved 'em.
The running commentary on the fate of Bo's pancreas and of Peanut's plight was a hoot.
Finally, the Today In History was very instructional. Shawn hit the iceberg with his forehead did he? That'll do it every time.
Nicely done, Prevuze. Nicely done.
"Who do you think you are," says EJ, "Tony Soprano?"
John asks, "Am I related to him, too?"
That was actually funny, and it’s not a Prevuisum. Will wonders never cease?
That's why we're hoping the Old John gets back soon. The New John is actually clever and robs us of too many Prevuzisms.
But this Jawn is so much better when you actually watch the show!
Thank you for the "day in history" because I was sorely disappointed when there was no pic of the family at sea, and I need my Shawn/Belle fix.
And while this line cracked me up and generally sums up Daze, "This is DOOL, nothing is going to happen," this episode may bear watching!
That's why we're hoping the Old John gets back soon. The New John is actually clever and robs us of too many Prevuzisms.
Aww, come on Prevuze. On their best day the DOOL writers couldn't TOUCH your wicked sense of humor.
Or mine! LOL
New blog!!

CommentThese Are The Daze Of Our Lives
"Bo watches from the bushes and contemplates shooting her himself." Amen.
Now, instead of moving the plot along and actually having Patch and Hope get rescued and GETTING ON WITH IT, we can have them all captured and have a quadruple cramp 'n moan. Bo with his pancreas, Kayla with the baby, Hope with her gunshot and Patch just trying to think.
It's a good thing I wasn't reading this at work when I saw Kayla's meltdown pic. HAHAHAHHAHA
Loved the Prevuisms, pictures and the history lesson. Excellent job today. Thanks!!
Aw, I love the 'Marlena warms up to the New John' pic! Very cute.
EJ thinks the problem is that Ali misses him. Sami reminds him Ali is Lucas' daughter.
At first I thought this was a Prevuze-ism. We are talking about a six month old baby, no? Has Rolf stepped in and brainwashed the kid to only think about Lucas?
Love the Shelle Titanic saga. Did either of them have a fling on the boat before it sank?
Thanks again for a great Prevuze!
Kayla says, "I want to see Ava, now!" Bo watches from the bushes and contemplates shooting her himself.
HAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHA!!!!!
Oh, please. Steve was so worried before about the Vitalis and how he had to handle this thing himself, but now he's just going to walk out like it's over? Get real. And the other 3 of them? NOT. The "real" Hope would be all over Ava at this point (now that she has someone to watch her back) and she'd expose her to Ava's dear papa. Please, Bo, just shoot Ava already! Self defense. Her daddy would probably be glad 'cuz then he wouldn't have to worry about keeping her locked up anymore. And I'm tired of lookin' at her. Please, writers, don't ever redeem her! Let her be OFF the show!
And I will say it again - I love Jawn!!! Speaking of, what's with him NOT messing with Sami's head? What is it he "just" wants?
Anyone think Steph is climbing in Max's window?
Why do you insist on making fun of "Kayla's" weight? I think it's an insult to larger women everywhere. She isnt even fat, it's just that our minds are all wrapped around the 98 pound starlet.
I think it's a shame that you would stoop to this level.
Bulldog.. I LOL at your pic of Marlena working one day and needing time off already.
John's line about being related to the Soprano's also made me LOL.
Love the news report on the status of the Shelle cruise. Anyone know when the characters are expected to return?
Thanks Prevuze for keeping me interested in the show.
Lighten up (pardon the pun), Anonymous. All's said in fun here.
"Kayla" is a pretty woman (with a good haircut as I've mentioned -- lol). I thought the weight references were because she has had so many unhealthy snacks on the show lately -- and she's pregnant.
And we all know she looks healthier & beter than scarecrow hope.
I never even thought about that being a reference about Kayla's weight at all. More like she had such a meltdown it was like pouring salt on a slug.
Ewww...did I really do that as a kid??! HAHAHAHAHAHHA
Why do you insist on making fun of "Kayla's" weight?
We'll second what em said, Mary Beth Evans is a very attractive actress who is probably secure enough to survive whatever ribbing insignificant Prevuze might give her. We'll be the first to admit we've crossed the line before, but in this instance please read closely and notice we're teeing off on "Kayla's" own remarks about being a nervous eater – and will continue to do so. Notice the Jabba the Hut picture is AFTER the breakdown. Perhaps it is more to your point that we said frisking her was a big job but she is, after all, pregnant. Hmmm... it's probably now politically incorrect to believe pregnant women get larger... I mean, adiposally enhanced.
...it's probably now politically incorrect to believe pregnant women get larger... I mean, adiposally enhanced.
OMG, Prevuze. Don't become politically correct on us. LOLOLOL
