Oh The Torment, Oh The Intrigue
Patrick gives his tear-jerking goodbye. Rex goes berserk. He bets Phillip was tortured. Mimi says, “We have to believe he will get out of this.”
Rex doesn’t think all the training in the world can help Phillip, “Unfortunately his wife is running around with another man.”
Jan says, “If word gets out, the media is going to break this story. But I won’t say anything. Mrs Kiriakis will now have to be on her best behavior. Shawn will be all mine.”
Shawn and Belle watch the gut-wrenching goodbye. Belle watches Phil. Shawn watches Belle. Belle sobs, “This can’t be happening.” The news story says they don’t know where Phillip is being held or if he is still alive. Shawn tries to console Belle, but she pulls away.
Billie asks for the DNA results. Bo goes over to listen. Ricardo tells them DNA was a match. Open mouths all around. “SHE'S ALIVE! SHE'S ALIVE!”
Jack looks out the drapes and sees Jennifer. He chuckles, “That’s weird, what’s she doing outside?” Jennifer comes in form the kitchen. Jack checks again. Nothing, “I must be really tired.”
Jennifer asks, “What’s wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost.”
“I have, yours.”
Bo asks if the tech is sure. Yes. Billie, hard of hearing, asks the same thing. Yes. Kate tells Hope she now has to admit Georgia is still alive. Hope says a lock of hair doesn’t prove anything. Billie says this is too good to be true. Hope is skeptical, “How do we know this isn’t fabricated?” Hope is happy for Billie and Bo but wants to make sure this isn’t a wild goose chase.
Jack tells Jennifer maybe it’s sleep deprivation, “But I saw you outside. I’m telling you I saw you on the front walkway.” He takes her outside. No one is there.
Jennifer says, “I have a bad feeling about this. Tony knows you escaped. What if he is after us? We gotta get outta here.”
Footsteps. Entry. Jennifer #2. She is answers the phone, “Hello, Yeah, just got here. Don’t worry, I’ll get what I came for and be back before anyone knows I was here.”
Mimi asks if Jan is delusional. Rex says, “The wheels are turning but the hamster is dead.” Don’t worry. The hamster will come back to life like everyone else in Salem.
Jan says, “Someone has to be there for Shawn when Belle leaves him. They can’t show their love publicly now that Phillip has been captured.” Jan looks at the computer, “They will show this 1,000 times a day. Attaboy, Phillip pile on the guilt. I’m sorry this had to happen to you, Phillip, but ‘no pain, no gain.’ If you hadn’t been captured you would have lost Belle and I would have lost Shawn.”
Belle tells Shawn she has to be strong for Phillip. Shawn assures her the Marines will do every thing they can. “That’s not good enough,” cries Belle. Mimi and Rex come in. Rex immediately goes back to get more info on the computer. Mimi and Belle hug. Shawn stares. Jan takes it all in.
Billie isn’t surprised Hope feels that way. Hope says Stephano has been playing a game with them for years, “How do you know while you were unconscious Tony didn’t have a specialist take samples of your hair? The DiMeras gave the world the Gemini twins. They are capable of anything. I just don’t want you running off in a dangerous search without knowing what’s out there. As a mother I know this is a horrifying experience for you, Billie, what if this is another trick?”
Bo asks Ricardo if there is any possible way to determine if the hair sample was taken recently. Group stare.
Jack asks what if DiMera got some clone to come back and get them, “No, I’m out of line. There is no double.” Jennifer says it makes sense except for the clone part. Jack says he has been dreaming of getting back to her. They flash back to the island. Jack decides his eyes are playing tricks on him, “We are not leaving the house. As soon as we talk to the authorities we will go up and get some sleep.” Jennifer says if they’re going to try to get some sleep, they don’t need coffee, so she goes into the kitchen to make tea. She tells Jack she is really scared, “If Tony was going to send someone they would be here by now.”
Jennifer #2 picks up a knife and says, “I’m going to need this...”
Jack says, “Yes, Tony would want to stop me. Well, the ISA and the police are on the way. If Tony comes here I will be ready for him.”
Jennifer #2 contemplates the knife, “Yeah, this ought to do the trick.”
Rex searches the Internet. “Damn,” says supergeek, “the computer crashed.” Some hacker. He looks at Kate’s picture, “You lost Cassie and Dad. How can you lose another child?”
Kate hangs up the phone and says, “John must be sleeping. Thankfully Phillip can’t see what’s going on between Shawn and Belle. It will be a cold day in hell before Shawn Brady walks off with my son’s wife.”
Belle and Shawn argue over the remote. Belle wants to watch Phillip's anguished death and Shawn wants to watch the ball game. Belle just wants to see Phillip’s face one more time, “Just leave me alone.” Shawn takes Mimi aside, “What should I be doing?” Watch the ball game in another room? Mimi tells him to give Belle some space, she needs to work things out on her own.
“And I know,” thinks Jan, “how to make her work it out on her own.”
Shawn tells Mimi he can’t stand to see Belle like this, “I want to be with her every moment, but I guess I can’t.”
Belle shakes like a jackhammer as she surfs. Jan comes over to her and says, “I know we haven’t really been friends, but Phillip doesn’t deserve this. Even in the face of death he’s holding on for you. It must be a terrible feeling knowing you betrayed a man who’s about to die.” Such comfort in her time of distress.
Ricardo says he can’t say if the DNA donor is still alive. But the hair didn’t come from a newborn, and he can say the sample was recent, “so the donor is probably still alive. Billie is ecstatic. Kate is ecstatic. Bo is ecstatic. Hope is, uh, happy. Billie makes plans to find Georgia. Ricardo reminds Billie this is a hospital. They have to do a mountain of paperwork.
Hope tells Bo it’s time to go see about Shawn, "You are coming with me aren’t you?" Bo stares.
Jennifer asks what Jack thinks Tony would do to them. Jack just says it was amazing he escaped form the castle. Jennifer decides to call Bo. Jack stops her, “The other Jennifer was a figment of my imagination. There is only one you. Because you are unique. No one else does things just like you do, like that thing you do with your hair, you know what I’m taking about? Could you just do that for me?”
Jennifer #2 says, “Oh, Aunt Maggie has plenty of knives. She wants a pie server.” She doesn’t have a pie server. She gets a spatula instead. She calls Maggie and asks if the spatula will do.
Jack loves all those little things Jennifer does, “Could you do that hair thing for me, please?”
“Uhhh... Sure,” says Jennifer #1, “but first I’m going to make you some herbal tea.”
Jennifer #2 walks out. Jennifer #1 comes into the kitchen. She picks up the phone and seethes, “DiMera, why didn’t you tell me Jennifer does something stupid with her hair?”
Jack looks out the window, “How could Jennifer not know what I’m talking about with the hair thing?” He flashes back to the cabin and Jennifer telling him he can’t see the baby or Abby tonight. Then he remembers about her calling Alice. Confusion reigns supreme. "Something very strange is going on here," says Jack.
Rex can’t believe his mom’s voicemail is full. He finds something new about Phillip on the computer, “Dammit how can they give up?”
Shawn tells Jan to get the hell away from Belle. Belle says Jan told her what she already knows, “I cheated on him.” Shawn says they didn’t cheat on Phillip because they didn’t have sex.
“I wanted to," says Belle, “It’s the same thing. If Phillip dies I will never forgive myself.”
The news comes on – “The search for PFC Phillip Kiriakis has been suspended due to weather conditions.” Oh, the torment. Belle is hysterical. Shawn tries to console her. Belle screams, “Don’t make me say this again, just leave me alone.” Shawn gets a clue and leaves.
Rex comes in. Belle cries.
Shawn slugs a brick wall. Jan comes up to him to help him pick up the bone fragments he has just left all over the alley. He tells her, “Get away from me.” He remembers their hot sex, “It’s because of you I can’t be with the woman I love.”
Jennifer #2 calls Maggie, “Mission accomplished.” Oh, she needs to run back inside. Jennifer #1 is on the phone asking what the real Jennifer does with her hair. “You take action or your mission will be compromised,” she says.
Jack asks himself, “What if the Jennifer I am with is the imposter? How do I find the real Jennifer? Who did I make love to in that cabin? This can’t be happening.” He runs outside.
Jennifer #1 hides in the closet as Jennifer #2 comes in. Maggie calls. She needs a pie plate. Oh the intrigue. Jennifer #2 looks for a pie plate as Jennifer #1 watches her. Jennifer #1 sees Jennifer #2 toss her hair as she hunts. “Aha,” says Jennifer #1, “That’s the thing she does with her hair.”
Jack staggers around outside.
Jennifer #2 leaves a note. She looks out the window and sees Jack.
Jack wanders, “Waitaminute, what’s Maggie’s car doing here? JENNIFER, where are you?” One of the Jennifers comes outside, “Omygosh, Jack!”
Rex is going back to his loft to see if there is any more info. He’s going to try to call Kate, too. Mimi asks him to check on Shawn while he is over there. She would hate to see him do anything stupid but, hey, he’s Shawn.
Mimi asks if Belle is giving up on Shawn for good. Belle stares.
Rex asks if everything is OK. Shawn says he was just blowing off steam, not to mention crushing his hand. Jan says Belle is with Phillip for the long haul. Shawn tells Jan he doesn’t need her. He wants her out of his life. “No Shawn, you need me.”
“You’re right,” says Shawn, “I need the truth. All this happened because of your lies. I don’t know what you did, but I know it’s your fault and I want you to admit it.”
Kate says someone has to stay with Billie. Kate can’t because she has to get back to John. Bo takes Hope aside and tells her he has to stay with Billie. Hope isn’t pleased. She tells Bo he is discounting his own family. Bo says he is not discounting his family, but that includes his daughter. He will join Hope later at Shawn’s.
Billie comes in with the paperwork. Bo says, "I will meet you at Shawn's loft."
Kate tells Hope she hopes she can keep Shawn away from her daughter-in-law.
“You know what, Kate, maybe if you and Billie would allow Bo five minutes with this family none of this would have happened.”
“You’re blaming me,” says Kate, “when your son nearly destroyed a church and is chasing a married woman whose husband is off defending his country?”
Hope says, “I’m going to talk to Shawn and try to find out what’s going on. My son was brought up to believe adultery is wrong. I don’t suppose you’d like to teach your kids the same?” I think probably adultery and any other carnal issue is pretty low on Kate's sin scale. Hope gives her the cocked-head, raised-eyebrow look. Hope walks off. Kate huffs.
Hope watches as Billie and Bo go over the clues.
Jennifer looks at Jack, "Oh my gosh, is it really you? I saw you and someone who looked just like me.” She flips her hair.
“Oh,” says Jack, “You did it. You did that thing with your hair. It’s you.”
“Oh, I thought you were dead Jack,” says Jennifer #??
Jack says, “No, never.” This is Salem. If you don’t come back from the dead, you’re just not hip. FF on Jack and Jennifer kissing passionately.

Well FINALLY Hope gets it through her head that she's not chained to Bo and can go talk to Shawn herself. Not that it will do any good, I'm sure she'll end up giving him the "oh you poor baby you're so tortured" speech John gave Belle.
My favorite picture so far - Shawn and Belle's IQ being one. HA!!!
