A Lock Of Hair

Jennifer says, "Jack, I knew it, even when I saw that wave sweep you away, I knew you were alive. Everyone else said you were dead, but I should have trusted myself."

"The worst part about being held captive," says Jack, "was being away from you and Abby and the baby. Really, the accommodations were petty nice. Tony held me captive in this architectural gem of a castle in Europe." Jack just hopes everyone back in the castle is safe and Tony isn't taking it out on them because Jack escaped. He thinks they should call the ISA. Jennifer reassures him, "Gram will take care of it." Jennifer really does not want him to call the ISA. She doth protest too much.

She asks how he escaped and got back to Salem. "Let's just say, please promise me I will never have to do laundry or starch or iron again."

"OK," she giggles, "I promise you will never have to do laundry for all the Days Of Our Lives."

Jan tells Mimi, "I have to tell Rex everything as soon as he gets back."

Ta-da! It's Rex at the door, "Tell me what, Jan? Spit it out. This better be good."

"Oh, it is. It's going to rock your world."

Belle reaches the depths of hysteria. She blubbers the story to Shawn.

John tells Kate he is determined to get through this. He wants her to just talk to him. He asks what she and Lexi were talking about in the hall. Kate says Lexi wanted to give him more medication but she was afraid that would just feed the addiction. He says he's going to kick it, no matter what kind of hell he has to go through. Even hooking up with Kate.

Kate worries about Phillip, "He's going to make it home. I know he will."

"Yes," says John, "and he's got the best incentive in the world - a beautiful new bride to come home to."

"And I hope Billie finds Georgia and can be with the man she loves," says Kate, "And if that means someone gets hurt..."

Bo is sorry his romantic evening with Hope didn't work out. Really sorry. He will make it up to her, "Billie was released into my custody. If she wen't somewhere else, she would go to jail."

Billie listens outside. Hope says she is doubtful they will find Georgia, "I don't think she exists. It's all a DiMera plot, Bo"

Billie barges in, "That's a lie. She exists, Hope. She's alive. And I will not let you convince Bo she's not."

Hope stares. Bo stares.

"How dare you," says Hope, "You may be a guest here, but you have no right to interrupt a private conversation between me and my husband."

Billie tells Hope she is so caught up in her delusions she hopes Georgia is dead. Hope says, "That isn't true, but there is no proof Georgia is even out there. What makes you believe she is alive?"

"The DiMeras convinced Bo that you were dead, and that Marlena killed half of Salem, but they are alive, too. We know what they are capable of," says Billie.

Hope tells Billie, "It is also possible the info you download was meant to deceive you. Tony is laughing at us from the grave. He knew when you found those files you'd go looking and you and Bo would be together and that would put a strain on our marriage."

Billie says, "This isn't about you, Hope. This is about Georgia."

Belle is all choked up. She knew this would happen. Shawn tries to convince her this is not her fault. Belle insists it is, "Oh God, don't let him be dead."

Mimi, Rex and Jan come in. Shawn tells them what has happened. Shawn tries to console Belle but she pushes him away, "Don't touch me. We can't lose Phillip." Belle again imagines Phillip's funeral. Mimi tells her not to think the worst.

Rex says, "Phillip is resourceful. He will get back. God wouldn't take my sister and my brother both. That wouldn't be right."

Suddenly Belle remembers the little "Dear Phillip" email she wrote. She turns to Shawn and asks, "OMG, you didn't send him that email, did you?"

Jan smirks in the background. Shawn stares.

Shawn says, "No, I have not sent that email." Belle says there is no way she can send it now. Mimi and Rex console each other. Rex wants to know why Jan is here. Mimi says she is crazy and probably thinks she can get Shawn back if she is here.

Shawn tries to make it all better, "The military has new hi-tech ways to track down soldiers in the field."

Jan tells Belle she is soooo sorry, "Phillip is careful. He is the last person I would expect this to happen to... unless he found out what is happening between you and Shawn. If Phillip is dead, it's your fault."

Kate suggests a heating pad. She goes to get it as John grimaces. He flashes back to his meeting with Stami. He gives out a primal grunt and reaches for the stash. He says through gritted teeth, "One minute one hour one day at a time." Kate walks back in with the heating pad as John hides the pills under the cover. Kate reminds him besides the sleeping pills there are no other drugs in the house. John clutches his bag-o-pills under the covers.

"Tonight is just about us, you and me," says Jack. Then he shifts gears, "I just think maybe we should go to Doug and Julie's and pick up the baby then get Abby."

Jennifer says, "You can't see Abby tonight." Jack asks her what is wrong. Jennifer stares.

"If Phillip's dead, you killed him," says Jan. The group tells Jan to lay off. Mimi says, "That's a lie."

"Don't you talk about lies, Mimi," snaps Jan.

Shawn tells Jan to get out then says, "No, never mind, you're not even worth it. You can stay." Dumb, Shawn. Throw her off the fire escape like Rex suggested.

Jan tells Mimi, "Let's see if you act so righteous ounce I tell Rex you got rid of his kid. Then he will see you for what you are." Of course they'll all be in their 90's once Rex finally finds out.

Rex is going to check the web to see if he can find out what happened to Phillip. Oh, that'll happen. Phillip's probably blogging as he is being tortured.

Rex and Shawn leave the girls to their party. Belle tells Mimi she should be resting. Mimi says she is OK.

"Whatever happens to Phillip you won't get your claws into Shawn again," thinks Jan.

Jennifer tells Jack morning will be there before he knows it. She has missed him so much, "The sound of your breathing when you fall asleep, the smell of your hair, and the crinkle in your smile. We are in this together. I was angry with you for dying and leaving me but you are here, that's why I want it to be just the two of us tonight." Jack understands. They collapse into each other's arms by the fire.

"Don't tell me I was too hard on Billie," says Hope, "Why am I always the bad guy? Do you believe I want your daughter to be dead? This is exactly what the DiMera's want. Their plan is to break us up."

"And you're playing right into their hand," says Bo. "If there is a chance Georgia is alive... the important thing is to find the truth."

Hope says there are more important things, "like your sons, us."

Bo wants to know what he has to do to convince her he loves her, "That's what tonight was about, and you ruined it." Bo storms out.

Billie is downstairs pouting. Bo comes down and tells her Hope was only trying to be objective.

"Georgia's alive, Bo. She has to be." The phone rings. Billie picks up. "Billie Reed? I'm calling about your daughter." Billie bolts straight up and stares. Tympani's swell in the background.

John doesn't know if it's withdrawal or denial, "but I keep having these dreams Doc's coming back to me."

Kate knows. She's had dreams about Roman, "You have to stop blaming yourself. You were injured and you did everything humanly possible to save Marlena. You were a hero like Roman."

"That sounds like something Doc would say. She really liked you, Kate. She'd be grateful you are here with me." Yeah, Marlena's really lovin' Kate's performance on TV in the castle.

"Yes," says Kate, "you and I are friends, aren't we? That's what's important to me. No matter what Billie or Brady think we should become."

John says, "They're still young. They just can't understand why we don't move on."

Kate says, "I would have given anything to hold Roman just one more time, to kiss him goodbye. Because we said our wedding vows and then he died." He didn't even stick around for a piece of the bloody cake. "At least I thought he died. We have lost so much. It isn't fair."

John says, "We can't keep doing this to ourselves. It's time to move on."

"Do you mean together," asks Kate.

Belle is sorry for What Mimi is going through. Mimi tells Belle Rex still wants to marry her, "but I can't give him children."

In our lecture for the day, Belle reminds Jan Mimi had a right to choose.

Just to make sure everybody's point of view is covered, Jan says, "So did Rex." She tries to drive them apart, "You two don't like the truth, do you? Mimi, you lie to your friends and Belle, you lie to your husband. Funny thing about best friends sometimes they don't stay together. What about it Meems? Will Belle be your best friend after she finds out what you did?"

Rex tells Shawn he and Phillip had been getting close. He thinks Shawn hasn't been fair to Belle and Phillip. He's upset at Shawn for moving in on Belle. Shawn insists he and Belle haven't done anything. Rex tells him, "There is no way you two are getting together while Phillip is missing. And if he is dead you'll never get together. All because you couldn't wait." He's starting to sound like Jan. Maybe he should throw himself off the fire escape.

Jennifer asks Jack, "Wouldn't it be amazing if everyone came back... Cassie and Caroline and Victor. Waitaminute. Nicole has been seeing Brady. What if Victor comes home to that? It won't be pretty."

"Let's not worry about Nicole and Brady right now," says Jack, "because the important thing is, you were faithful to me." He gives her a look that says, "Weren't you?"

Jennifer is incredulous, "Patrick never put the moves on me. He was staying over the garage, helping me with the kids."

Jack says he is back and they don't need Patrick around there anymore.

"Who is this," asks Billie. Hope rushes in, "What's going on?" Billie yells into the phone, "Tell me who you are!"

The voice on the phone tells her, "Look outside the front door."

Billie and Bo sprint to the front door. Outside, Billie starts to pick something up but Bo stops her."

John and Kate hold hands. "I don't know if either one of us is ready for that yet," says John, "I still love Doc."

"And I'm still in love with Roman. I am trying to move on. I put his house up for sale. I couldn't live there."

"I'm not quite there yet. Doc's clothes are still in the closet. Her favorite pen is over there on the desk." And her collection of serial killer knives is still in the drawer. "It's kind of a comfort to me. But nothing is helping more than having you here."

Kate strokes his pain-wracked bod.

Shawn says he can't lose Belle, "Whatever happened to Phillip isn't our fault, you believe that don't you?"

"It's what Belle believes that's important," says Rex.

Belle comes in, "There is something I have to do." She darts out and Shawn follows.

Jennifer says, "It's just the two of us, Jack."

"So I just focus on you and you focus on me," says Jack.

"If you're not too tired."

"I'm not too tired."

Jennifer says they will get together with the others in the morning.

Jack picks her up to go upstairs.

Jennifer says, "I have a better idea. Let me get your coat."

"My coat," asks the confused doofus.

"I want to take you someplace really special where we can be alone with no interruptions." And they wouldn't be able to do that in their own house? "I promise you it will be a night neither of us will ever forget." They're toying with us again.

Mimi dunks a cookie. "Poor Rex will lose it when he finds out you're a big fat liar and Belle will lose both Phillip and Shawn," thinks Jan.

"This is going to be so hard," says Belle.

Kate comes to the door. She gives Belle both barrels, "You'd better be here to tell me what a mistake it would be to break your marriage vows."

Hmmm... maybe it won't be so hard after all. She gives it to Kate straight, "Phillip's missing in action, Kate."

"NOOOOOOOO!"

Bo brings the package in wearing surgical gloves. He must have a surgical glove dispenser on the front porch. He opens the package. It's a small wooden box. Inside is a hank of hair in a baggie. Quick, rush it to Phillip for a transplant. The label reads, "GEORGIA REED BRADY. DOB 5/22/9X. Bo holds it up, concealing the actual year of birth, so once we find her, Georgia can age in dog years.

Billie Says, "It's Georgia's hair. It would have her DNA."

Bo says they will take it to the lab and compare it to their DNA, "If it's a match, we're one step closer to finding our daughter." Billie and Bo exchange a hopeful glance.
