The Big Dude Revisited
Hey, dudes... Hope your Christmas was as great as the one here at the Prevuze Compound. As we all continue to celebrate, I thought you might like a little stroll down memory lane.
Years ago, Dr. Tom Horton himself started the tradition of reading the Christmas story at Salem Hospital. That tradition has, off-and-on, continued down through the years with a variety of Salem personalities taking the helm to read to the kiddies.
Never, however, have we received such a unique perspective on the true meaning of Christmas than we did in 2006, when the Reverend Steven Earl "Patch" Johnson stepped up to the plate and gave us his version of that special night over 2,000 years ago.
Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear as we listen to today's scripture reading from Dr. Johnson.
The video also features, in addition to a few of the DOOL regulars from back then, the original redheaded race babe Stephanie Johnson, played by Shayna Rose. And for a little added fun, catch the looks on Stephanie and Kayla's faces when Patch first refers to the Lord God Almighty as "the Big Dude." Enjoy...

| Patch hesitates. He wants to tell the story but, in his own words. He improvises the story about Mary and the Big Dude. And the other dude named Joseph. And the other dude who let them stay in his barn. And the three wise dudes. God sent his son to mix it up with the regular dudes on earth. He can tell each of the mini-dudes in his audience is loved just like he loves his daughter and his Sweetness, "But the best gift you can get or give is love. So feel the love. Peace out." That's the most engaging version of the Christmas story telling the show ever had. The kids were all mesmerized.

1. Yes, Lawrence & Carly had a son, Nicky. He was a young boy back in the early 80's when the Alamains hit the show so he wouldn't be a teenager. In fact, several years ago they SORASed him to the point that he came back to town and had a brief affair with Kate I believe. Your observation that he would logically be involved in the story is a good one. But since it involves logic....well, you know.
2. They haven't said where Ivan is.
I can't believe it's been three years ago Payla and OriginalSteponme were on there. I would've said a year. My how time flies when you're watching DOOL. HAHAHAHA

Many thanks to the Prevuze dude/dudess for the DOOL blast from the past, dusty disc, gold oldie, etc. My entire Christmas experience is now complete! I hope everybody had a wonderful holiday!
Thank you Applecheeks. I kind of remember Nicky and Kate but somehow didn't make the connection to him being Lawrence and Carly's son.
I guess the writers have forgotten about Ivan, which means he's one of the characters/storylines that doesn't exist anymore like Phillip's fake leg, Peter and Kristen, etc.

do you mean why arent they on the show now???? well they were fired and payla and joe moved to a 3rd world copuntry somewhere i think in africa?? anyways kayla is there as a doctor for them, and when philip and steph were engaged they sent a bunch of medical supplies for them.

I don't like how they changed Stephanie from racecar driver to ditz when they recast the actress.
I liked redheaded Stephanhoe too. She wasn't such a dingbat.
