Oodles Of Bucks

Brady sneaks into Charlotte's office and watches the video of John's hypnotherapy session. He looks at the computer screen and asks, "Is this real? Is Dad getting his memory back?"

Kayla finds Marlena and asks, "Is something wrong?"

"With me," says Marlena, "If something isn't wrong then something is really wrong."

Charlotte sits with John at the pub and encourages him to leave Salem, "Are you willing to do it... take this bold step and leave Salem forever?"

Melanie and EJ sit in the Cheatin' Heart together. EJ pumps her about the Alternative Fuels Project.

Tony walks in on Nicole and Mia in the rumpus room. Nicole says she is surprised to see Tony and fakes being happy he is there. She tries to give him the bum's rush but Tony won't have it. He gives her his Cheshire Cat smile, "Aren't you going to introduce us?"

Brady watches the video as John talks about Marlena being in trouble. "It is real," he gasps, "What the hell is this doctor up to?"

John is speechless... in shock. He's not feeling comfortable about just moving out of Salem. He gets snippy at her for springing this on him. Charlotte makes the pitch for him to give it a try. John softens on the idea, but decides he's taking Blondie with him. Charlotte is horrified, "That's a mistake!"

Nicole turns to Mia, "This is Tony DiMera." Mia about has the baby on the spot, "Did you say DiMera?"

Marlena tells Kayla she's concerned about Charlotte.

Charlotte tells John it would be a big mistake to take Marlena. At least her advice isn't all bad. John thinks she's not being shrink-like, "I can be negative and pessimistic on my own. Why pay a psychiatrist?"

Charlotte tells him she feels their relationship has reached the point where she can be at ease with him and be very candid, "You and Marlena – it's not gonna happen."

John smiles, "And to think I accused you of being negative and pessimistic."

Melanie tells EJ Nick was the brains behind the operation and she's not at liberty to discuss the Alternative Fuels Project with outsiders. EJ asks if she's happy at Titan. Melanie wonders what he's really after.

The name DiMera freaks Mia. Nicole glosses over it. Tony says he wants to know who Mia is. Nicole says she's a friend, "We met at the Youth Center where I have been counseling pregnant adolescent girls."

"Really," says Tony, "Speaking of pregnant adolescents, how is Sami doing? "

Tony chokes at the thought of Nicole doing something that's not self-consumed. Mia gives a blank stare as Nicole weaves her tale of BS about working with the wayward girls. "Some of the stories are just tragic. I even met one girl who was stupid enough to have casual sex in an elevator and got knocked up." Tony wonders why they are at the mansion. Nicole says they have bonded and are hanging out together. Mia backs Nicole up, and then they hustle out. Tony humphs.

Marlena tells Kayla about Charlotte's one-session diagnosis. Kayla says she can see why Marlena is concerned, "It looks like Charlotte may be as big of a quack as you and me." Marlena says she thinks she sees a difference in John and the therapy may be working. She also tells Kayla about confronting Charlotte about leaving her last job abruptly. She doesn't think Charlotte will return the call she left because their relationship isn't good.

"You not having a good relationship with someone," says Kayla, "I can't imagine. I think you and Charlotte have to talk face to face."

Charlotte returns to her office. She opens the door to walk in, but drops her papers. She stoops to pick them up as Brady sweats.

EJ works on Melanie. He asks for her assurance the conversation will remain confidential. He paints a picture of what the Alternative Fuels Project can become. Melanie reminds him she has a deal with Titan. He tells her deals can be broken and suggests she move it to his family's company.

Marlena interrupts Charlotte before she can go into her office and says they have to talk.

EJ gives Melanie his card. She looks at it and reads, "EJ DiMera, Esq., Principal – DiMera Enterprises, Attorney, Refrigeration Truck Operator and Part-Time Rapist – Very impressive. Exactly what is it your company does?"

EJ smiles, "We make a lot of money for a lot of people."

Melanie squeaks, "Yeah. That seems noble. So you can make me oodles of bucks."

"I can make you more than Victor Kiriakis has ever dreamed of."

Nicole and Mia are at Dr. Baker's clinic. Nicole tells her about Tony and the DiMeras. Mia asks about Stefano. "Oh," says Nicole, "Stefano is just one of the sweetest goofs you'll ever meet."

Dr. Baker interrupts, "Does Mia know the truth about you? The whole truth?"

Brady works away as Marlena and Charlotte talk about her leaving her last job. Marlena wants to discuss John's therapy.

Melanie says she's happy where she is. EJ says Phillip is always interested in new projects but gets bored easily. He asks what Melanie wants. Melanie says she has made herself clear that she doesn't want to leave Titan, but EJ advises her not to be hasty. Melanie says she will think it over. "Don't forget," says EJ, "This conversation was confidential."

"Mum's the word," says Melanie.

EJ breaks into tears, "No one's mentioned Mum in a long time. I miss her."

Nicole tells Dr. Baker Mia knows all about her fake pregnancy. Mia says she and Nicole have gotten to know each other and Mia knows Nicole can give her baby a better life.

Brady sticks his head out of Charlotte's office door as Marlena and Charlotte talk. Marlena sees him and about has a cow. Brady sneaks back inside as Charlotte gets indignant. Marlena suggests going for a cup of coffee. Charlotte suggests a cup of 'shut up and die.' Marlena says John has discussed the therapy and the fact that Charlotte is discontinuing hypnotherapy. She wants to know why Charlotte has told John he will never get his memory back. Charlotte nukes. Kayla interrupts.

Maggie joins Melanie at the Cheatin' Heart. She thanks her for standing up for Nick. Melanie says she thinks when Maggie is around everything will be OK. Maggie buys it hook, line and sinker. Melanie mentions Nick had a good lawyer who is a very interesting character. She digs for more info on EJ.

EJ arrives back at the mansion. Tony tells him Nicole was there with a very pregnant teenager whom she met at the youth center. EJ is confused about that, "I don't remember being in the same room with any teenagers." Tony says Nicole was evasive about why she brought the girl back there. EJ asks what he thinks about the situation.

"Same thing you are thinking, little brother," says Tony, "Something is up."

Dr. Baker tells Nicole and Mia the baby is a girl. Nicole gushes. Mia cries. Baker tells Mia it's natural to have second thoughts. Nicole tells him not to put ideas into Mia's head. "It's her baby," says Dr. Baker, "If she wants to keep her its a God given right."

Mia says she wishes she could keep the baby but that's not best for her. Nicole asks when the baby is due. "It's hard to say," says Dr. Baker, "I'd say another week at the earliest."

"How much is that in DOOL time," asks Nicole.

Dr. Baker says, "I just look forward to all this being over."

"I'll miss you too Dr. Baker," grumbles Nicole, "You've been a heck of a guy."

Baker leaves. Nicole says a week gives them time to come up with a plan. She figures she has to go away and give birth someplace else.

Charlotte threatens to report Dr. Evans to the psychiatric board. She thinks she might get a restraining order, too. That does it. Kayla hauls them both into her office. Brady takes the opportunity to get outta Dodge.

On the way to Kayla's office Charlotte says she overreacted. She apologizes and runs like a scared rabbit.

"What got into her," asks Kayla.

"DOOL is on and she doesn't want to miss the Sami-Rafe scenes," says Marlena.

"Wow," says Kayla, "She really is a nutcase."

Maggie gives Melanie the rundown on EJ and Nicole. "I wasn't really digging for that kind of information," says Melanie, "I asked because I want an attorney."

"What about Mickey," asks Maggie.

"Like I said, I want an attorney."

Maggie advises her to be on her guard where EJ is concerned.

Tony says Nicole never told him what the girl's name was. EJ thinks Nicole has changed. He thinks she's become the Mother Theresa of Salem since she got pregnant, and figures she just hasn't gotten around to telling him about working at the youth center. He says he believes what Nicole told Tony.

"Of course you do," sneers Tony, "Bless your kind, trusting soul." Tony leaves.

Nicole arrives back at the mansion. EJ is is distant and quiet. Nicole tires to get smoochie, but EJ asks, "Aren't you going to tell me... That you volunteer at the youth center and why I have to find that out from Tony?"

Mia lies on her bed and reads. She gets up and pours a glass of water.

PAIN!

Kayla finds John at the pub. She tells him she has had a stressful day. "Being around Patch can do that to you," says John.

Kayla says Charlotte's behavior disturbs her, "I don't trust her and neither should you."

Charlotte fiddles with her computer, "NO! NO! Somebody has been using this computer! They've seen John's video! And they messed up my game of Freecell! "

Brady computes as Marlena comes home and scolds him for breaking into Charlotte's office. Brady tries to get a word in edgewise and convince her to watch the video, "I emailed it to you."

Marlena watches. She melts as John says, "It's the love of my life. It's Marlena."
