Ripley's Believe-It-Or-Not

Dr. Dan swoops out of the Kiriakis pool. He turns and looks at someone standing there, "I didn't expect to see you here."

Lucas gives Chloe a back rub. Chloe complains about Sami, "That woman is always pregnant. How does that happen?" Even Lucas can field that one. He says he doesn't want to discuss it, "It's boring. It's the same old thing. It's like DOOL. There are a million things I'd rather be doing right now."

"Like what," asks Chloe.

Macho Lucas snorts, "What's that? A challenge?" I ask you, where else can you get dialog like this? And for free.

Sami continues her description of the perp as the artist draws his sketch. Marlena comes in and they share a big hug. Sami is delighted to have yet another opportunity to blubber, "I saw the mayor. He was shot. He bled and the guy was going to shoot me next. It's so horrible." Pan to the drawing of Scuzzball.

Tony and Lexie walk up to Chez Rouge. Tony says, "You act like something is bugging you, what is it."

"You."

He wants to know if it's more than the Moron-o murder, "You said you needed to speak to me urgently, so what the hell's going on?"

Lexie says, "It's not just that Moron-o was killed, it's my part in it. I may be the one who got him killed."

Nicole doubles over in pain. John walks in, "Nicole what are you doing?" Nicole makes a face. John makes assumptions, "Oh no, you're having your baby." John starts to call the hospital but Nicole stops him and tells him it was just a pain. He wants her to get checked out. Nicole refuses.

Sami rambles, "This has been such a weird nightmare. I saw the shooter and screamed. Then he pointed a gun at me so I shut up."

"So that's what it takes," says Marlena.

"I wasn't sure what to do," says Sami, "So I hit him with my purse."

"Marlena is shocked, "And he survived?"

"After that," says Sami, "I ran inside. It was terrible. He was shot right in the heart, so he didn't suffer, right?"

"That depends," says Marlena, "If he had a conversation with you before the bullet hit him, I'm sure he suffered."

Sami zones, "Who would want to kill him?"

Fade to Scuzzball, who talks on the phone while he loads his firearm, "I give my word, I keep it. By the end of the night, Samantha Brady will be dead."

Nicole says, "John, you of all people should be sympathetic about my hatred of hospitals. I know Stefano faked your death. In fact, I heard it's going to be a Ripley's Believe-It-Or-Not exhibit." Nicole says she can't complain to EJ again. He'll think she's being manipulative. She wonders where he is, "What, is he churning the ice cream himself?" She insists she's healthy. John takes her word for it. She asks him not to tell EJ this happened. John promises.

The sketch artist leaves. Marlena suggests Sami come and live with her for a while.

Tony presses. Lexie tells him about her ultimatum to Stefano. Tony thinks what she did was reasonable. Lexie frets. Tony thinks Stefano may not have been behind the murder, "He wouldn't have had the mayor killed on his doorstep. I mean the man is brutal but not stupid. He left stupidity to his children." Lexie still feels he killed Moron-o for her.

Stefano lectures a guy on the phone for making excuses., "Listen to me, you stammering twit..." EJ interrupts. He wants to have a little chat.

Phillip says, "It's my house... mi casa su casa. That's Spanish for help yourself to whatever you want. In fact, help yourself to this..."

POW!

Phillip snorts, "There! I'm glad I got that off my chest."

Daniels says, "That makes two of us. I'm glad I got my jawbone off my face."

Stefano hangs up. EJ says he wants answers. Stefano says his anger is misdirected. EJ tells him the ice cream is for Nicole, who doesn't need any more stress. Stefano promises he won't jeopardize his future heir. EJ leaves.

John comes in, "Listen to me, brother. I know about the hit put on Anthony Moron-o and I know that you're behind it." Stefano denies it. John threatens, "If anything happens to Blondie's daughter I come after you." Stefano chuckles and says his threats are comical. John reiterates his threat and leaves.

Chloe and Lucas cuddle on the couch. They would have gone into the bedroom, but Lucas has a genetic disorder which only allows couch sex. "First a great massage," says Chloe, "Now this. How did I get so lucky?" Lucas sings her praises. Chloe thinks she's lucky she found him.

Lucas insists he's the lucky one, "You really are a keeper." Round two.

Sami declines to stay with Marlena, "That wouldn't be any fun. How could we set up the mindless Three's Company situation comedy at the cabin if I stayed with you? "

Marlena asks, "You're staying at the cabin? On the island?"

"No," says Sami, "They moved the cabin to the mainland where I can get to it easier during my pregnancy." Marlena doesn't think Chloe will approve. She suggests Sami talk to her about it. Sami vows not to turn the Horton cabin into a war zone. Marlena wants to know why she's spending time with Lucas, "And I want the truth. You're not yourself the past few days." John barges in. he's there to check on Sami. Marlena tells him she invited Sami to stay with her but she declined. John says he's rented a gigantic suite at the Salem in and invites her to stay with him. Sami wouldn't think of imposing on him. She can be so much more trouble at the Horton cabin. She goes to call Lucas to have him pick her up.

Marlena tells John Sami is in some kind of trouble.

Sami holds her phone and begs Lucas to pick up. Things are picking up at the cabin, all right, but it's not what Sami had in mind.

Abe shows up. He tells Tony and Lexie he had called his advisors over to Chez Rouge for a strategy meeting and a press conference somehow developed. Stefano watches as Lexie says she hopes they don't ask her questions. Abe invites Tony to join them. Tony agrees and they all go inside.

EJ feeds Nicole ice cream. She says she likes it when he fusses over her. He tells her to get used to it. She tells him she's so happy about him wanting to be with her. EJ says he wants the same things she does and he wants them with her. Nicole starts running through baby names, "For a boy I like Henry or George or Christopher. For girls...

PAIN!

EJ panics, "Is it the baby?"

"No," says Nicole, "I hate Neapolitan ice cream."

Abe speecfifies. He wants to reassure the people of Salem, "It was a tragic event and our hearts go out to Mayor Moron-o's family. But I will say it makes this campaign a whole lot easier."

A news guy jumps in and questions Lexie, "Is it true your father funded the mayor's campaign as well as your husband's?"

Abe steps in, "I have never taken a dime from Stefano and I never will."

Chloe and Lucas smooch. Lucas gets a call. Sami nukes, "HOW COME YOU NEVER ANSWER YOUR PHONE?"

"Because chances are it's you on the other end."

Sami wants Lucas to drop everything so he can come and pick her up. Lucas clears his throat, "I'm a bit busy."

Sami has a meltdown, "AND I CAME FACE TO FACE WITH A HIT MAN TODAY."

"Too bad he missed," says Lucas. He hangs up and tells Chloe he has to go. Chloe steams.

Phillip asks, "Did you expect me to be cordial? You mess around with my mother and you have outdone yourself. I know everything that goes on here. I know what happened right there on that couch! And my security cameras are hi-def."

Daniel asks, "Do you ever think about your mother instead of yourself? Lets' not do this here."

Phillip asks, "What, do you want to schedule another beatdown at a more convenient time?" Daniel says he won't take any more of Phillip's bull. Phillip wants him to stay away from Kate.

Nicole tells EJ the pain has passed. She says it's a cramp in her leg. She stands up and decides to take Pookie for a walk. EJ doesn't think that's a good idea. She asks him to come. EJ says he has to go to the office. She promises she will be OK. A kiss convinces him. EJ leaves. Nicole sits.

Marlena is frustrated. She thinks Sami is keeping something from her. She apologizes for taking it out on John, "By the way, thank you for inviting Sami to live with you. That was a very nice gesture."

John smiles, "I just wanted her to know that I will (say it with him) be there for her." John says he figures Marlena hasn't filed the divorce papers yet, or she would have said something. He wonders what the holdup is. Marlena dunno.

Sami and Lucas arrive at the cabin.

Chloe goes into high gear, "WHOA! You are really starting to show!" Sami immediately becomes indignant that Lucas has told Chloe her secret, as if Chloe couldn't see Mt. Samantha and figure out what's going on with her own two eyes. Chloe tells her to knock it off, "As long as Lucas isn't involved, you can have triplets for all I care."

Lucas wants to know if Sami told EJ. She says Lucas lost the right to ask when he blabbed to Chloe. Chloe decides to go see a friend, giving Sami and Lucas the opportunity to drop into their childish bickering mode. Sami tells him about witnessing the assassination.

Meanwhile, Scuzzo loads his elephant gun.

Daniel and Phillip argue. Phillip asks why he's back with Kate, "Do you feel sorry for her?"

Daniel won't dignify that. He says Kate is compassionate and smart and she makes him feel good... about himself, "We need each other right now." Phillip declares himself out of it for Kate's sake.

Lexie thinks the questioning was a disaster. Tony insists she hasn't done anything wrong. Abe wants to know what they are talking about.

Sami tells Lucas she will be able to to pick the perp out of a lineup. Lucas scolds her for not telling EJ about the baby. EJ walks in to provide adult supervision.

Abe gets called away. Lexie obsesses over the part she may have played in Moron-o's murder. Tony tells herto stop her worrying, "The mayor is gone. It's not your fault. End of story."

Lexie remains concerned, "What if the mayor isn't the only person the killer has plans to take out?"

Nicole wanders. Chloe comes in. Nicole is glad to have the company. She says her hold on EJ may be tenuous at best. They are both sick of Sami. Chloe says, "Nicole, there is something you need to know about Sami."

Sami asks EJ to go. EJ says he is there to offer support, "You witnessed a murder."

"I appreciate you bringing up that heartwarming memory," says Sami. EJ says he won't leave until he knows she's all right. Outside, Scuzzo takes aim. He has Sami in his sights.
