Dimples
Nicole stands outside the pub and makes sure Trent isn't inside. Phillip joins her and suggests they go in and have a drink. "No offense, Dimples," says Nicole, "but I'm not looking for anyone to hang out with." Phillip talks her into it. Nicole lives by the code, "You don't have to be looking for someone to hang out with to wind up hanging out with someone."
We also find the following definition in the Guy Manual: Pickup n. - 1) A girl who may not be looking for someone to hang out with, but might wind up hanging out with you. 2) A truck. May be used for a romantic setting with a pickup (1) when an elevator is unavailable.
Inside, Phillip tells her Morgan seems willing to give him another chance. He says his threat to kill Paul wasn't real. Nicole says people threaten to kill people all the time, in her world, anyway, "I always want to kill someone, "For example, I wanna kill Sami Brady."
Phillip asks, "Haven't you been saying that for the last ten years?"
Nicole says, "Yes, and if Sami would have the good sense to die I could stop saying it." She tells him about seeing Sami and EJ in the stairwell-a-thon, "After I saw that, I had a fantasy all mapped out."
That gets Phillip's attention, "Whoa! Sounds great."
"Not that kind of fantasy, you perv," gasps Nicole. Phillip's inquiring mind, that is, the part that's not spread across the Salem raceway, wants to know more. Nicole tells him about the fantasy and we roll into a Film-noir-back.
EJ cheats. Nicole figures it out. Nicole hires Lucas. What she needs is a good PI. What Lucas needs is a good client. What we need is good drama. Lucas solves the case – his wife and Nicole's husband. Chloe cleans up nice, takes off the glasses and is blind as a bat. Intelligent as one, too.* They all smoke.
*We apologize to bats everywhere.
Back to ahem... reality. Nicole gives him a rundown of a few more things that happen in the fantasy. Phillip says he is honored to be included in her fantasy (Phillip has very low standards) . "Am I ever in your fantasies," asks Nicole.
"No," says Phillip, "Not the ones I talk about, anyway."
Sami tells Lucas EJ is her first affair, proving it's a total fantasy. She runs out on him. EJ runs out on Nicole.
Phillip says he didn't realize Nicole had such a vivid imagination. Nicole continues...
Sami runs into Nicole's bedroom looking for EJ. Nicole strangles her. Nicole calls Lucas over and shows him her handiwork, "She gave me lip and I went a little crazy," Lucas says he's been getting lip from Sami for years and that's why he's more than a little crazy.
Nicole tells Phillip Lucas doesn't kill her in the fantasy, "He goes back to his office and finds Chloe."
Chloe tells Lucas she quit her job. Phillip was a swell guy but she's more interested in Lucas' swelled head. Nicole tells EJ she killed Sami. She threatens to kill EJ if he won't come back to her. EJ plays ball. A 'happily ever after' scenario develops. Abe and Roman crack the case. EJ walks away from Nicole. Roman tells Nicole she's getting the electric chair. EJ takes her money.
"The end," says Nicole.
Phillip wants more details, "How did the cops know what was going on?"
"Back then," says Nicole, "The Salem cops actually had some brains. Besides, Lucas called them."
"Well," says Phillip, "Thanks for letting me spend some time in your mind."
"No problem," says Nicole, "It's practically an empty space. There's plenty of room in there for you. Thanks for listening."
Phillip drops into film-noir mode, "For a foxy dame — any time." He saunters out.Nicole says to no one in particular, "Maybe EJ will come to his senses and I'll have a happy ending after all."
EJ storms up to Nicole's table, sits down and says, "I'm just about ready to strangle you."
"Why are you so upset, EJ?"
"Don't play innocent with me," says EJ, "I know what you did to Samantha."

This actually sounds like it will be a good episode! I'll have to watch today. I can't wait to see EJ confront Nicole about calling the cops on Sami...at least he's thinking with the head on his shoulders!!! :D
EJ cheats. Nicole figures it out. Nicole hires Lucas. What she needs is a good PI. What Lucas needs is a good client. What we need is good drama.
Preferably, something that hasn’t been recycled to save on production costs. By the way, Prevuze, do we at least get a run of the “beefcake on the hoof” line?
Phillip says he is honored to be included in her fantasy (Phillip has very low standards) .
We can start with the fact that he’s sitting with Nicole.
EJ storms up to Nicole's table, sits down and says, "I'm just about ready to strangle you."
Is this supposed to parallel Nicole strangling Sami? She managed to kill her. Something tells me that Nicole is going to continue to be alive and well living in Salem. A gal can only hope.
Well, I spent a fun weekend bailing out my basement. At one point, the water coming out of the toilet sounded like Niagara Falls. The rug is gone, the furniture survived, and the house is still standing, which means I am infinitely more fortunate than many of the poor souls in the path of Ike. Monday is already a better day because I got to read Prevuze!!! The pictures were darn good too!!!
do we at least get a run of the “beefcake on the hoof” line?
Down, girl.
Wow! I've seen DAYS go overboard on flashbacks before, but a whole freakin' show??!!
This is definitely an episode that can be almost totally zapped (except for the "hunky" parts). LOLOL
Thanks for the heads-up, Prevuze. At least your report made the re-hash enjoyable.
except for the "hunky" parts
Down, girl.
Since I'll have a 5-day catch up on DOOL when I get back hom (pity me) this will make it faster. I'm with you, Applecheeks, what a lame attempt to get out of writing an entirely new episode.
On the other hand, I did enjoy the noir stuff more than anything else they've had on DOOL lately except for Jawn.
Thanks, Prevuze, LOL over Ho and Dope viewing the tape and Jawn going overboard with the pub's lame service. HAHAHAHA
Watching the DOOL-Noir rehash today reminded me -- when we were all recounting the films and characters that the original two epi's "borrowed" from, there were two we forgot. EJ's admonitions of "Don't call me Junior" shouts out to the Indiana Jones movies, where Indy continually tells people the same thing -- and the Indy movies, of course, were in and of themselves a "shout out" to the movie serials of the forties. And Nicole's plea "I want to live!" as they were hauling her off to the electric chair was a shout out to Susan Hayward's Oscar-winning performance in the film of the same name, where she played convicted and subsequently executed murderess Barbara Graham. Graham, however, got the gas chamber, not the electric chair.
You can file those little tidbits away in the back of your minds for now -- they might get you a correct response in a Final Jeopardy! round sometime in the future!!!
