Nicole stops a guard and asks to go up to the seventh floor. The officer tells her it's sealed off and they can't let her go up there.
Roman explains what's going on to Abe, "We can't get anybody in or out. The phones are jammed. The seventh floor is sealed with some kind of lockdown mechanism."
Abe can't figure it, "What's going on?"

Roman gives a rundown of who they know is up there. The usual suspects... And Stefano. Roman thinks it's one hell of a coincidence that he's there, too.
"The man is in a coma," says Abe, "He couldn't have anything to do with this."
Lexie walks up, "Don't be so sure of that. A man in a coma could be writing this drivel."
John assumes Tony is on his side. Stefano appears and accuses Tony of having no backbone, "I will see you burn in hell."
Tony snorts, "Conniving bastard."
Stefano sticks out his tongue, "Sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me."
That does it! Tony picks up a wrench and starts to smash it into his head when suddenly Stefano turns into John. John stops him, "Not a good way to start our new relationship." Tony leaves.
Marlena vegetates and flashes back to Stefano's taunting. She vows to get the antidote. He finger twitches. The syringe looms.
Kayla huffs, puffs and crawls. She begs Patch to wake up. L'il Joe cries. Kayla crawls over and clutches at the door then mercifully goes unconscious.
EJ calls for Sami. Sami stands on the flight of stairs beneath him and sees him, but thinks it's Stefano coming down the steps. She trips him as he comes down the stairs. EJ does the Ford Decker slow motion bump and roll down three flights of steps and lands in a crumpled mass at the bottom. Sami recognizes him and morphs into a heapin' helpin' of helplessness.
Lexie tells Abe and Roman Stefano could have come out of his catatonic state, "The TV in his room went on the blink and can no longer pick up DOOL."
Tony rushes in and finds Anna unconscious. He begs her to wake up.
The blithering, blathering, blubbering, babbling, bawling, bimbo hovers over EJ's broken body and spews, sobs, simpers, slobbers and snivels, "You promised that you'd help me fight Stefano and you'd help me get out of here. Please! Please EJ, you have to be OK."
Marlena tries to think herself into action. Her thumb twitches.
Tony begs Anna to come back to him. The prince tries a kiss. Sleeping beauty wakes. She tells him the last thing she remembers is Stefano coming toward her. Tony tells her the gas made him hallucinate, "John turned into Stefano."
John works. He doesn't have a clue what he's doing but the flashlight in his mouth makes it look like he does.
Phillip walks in with two vente lattes. He tries to assure Nicole EJ can take care of himself, "I don't think this is a random malfunction, just a random plot."
Roman, Lexie and Abe look for an access route. Phillip grills them. Nicole asks, "EJ is with Sami?"
Roman asks, "Does that concern you?" Nicole says she just thought he was visiting his father alone.
EJ says he has a headache to deal with. His head also hurts. Sami snivels and apologizes. EJ figures out Sami tripped him. Sami makes excuses. "I - wah - thought - wah - you - wah - were - wah - Stefano - wah - and there was a monster under my bed.. I really didn't know what I was doing."
"So," says EJ, "the gas hasn't affected you. You said you couldn't imagine your life without me. Did you mean that?" Sami doesn't think this is the place or time to discuss that. EJ presses.
Sami whines, "Lucas dropped me like a hot potato because of one little thing."
EJ says, "CENSORED."
Sami whines on, "When Lucas came back I forced myself to ignore how I felt about you." Flashback to a hot time in the sheets. "That night changed everything. It may have been a mistake but I can't take it back. I can't change how I feel about you. I have to stop lying to myself."
"Does that mean you have to stop whining, too," asks EJ.
Anna runs into Marlena's room and brings her up to date in between sobs. She puts Marlena's oxygen back on, "This gas is making people crazy."
"Oxygen has that effect on people in Salem," gasps Marlena. She stares at the syringe as Anna babbles.
Anna asks, "Are you trying to tell me something?"
John works. Stefano booms over a loudspeaker conveniently placed on the wall above John, "Hello, this is your conscience speaking. You have been a bad soldier. That is about to change."
"You always were a coward," snarls John, "Show your face."
"Behave and be the pawn you are," says Stefano, "I can reboot you and your metamorphosis will be complete."
Lexie pries. She thinks Nicole was upset when she mentioned EJ came in with Sami, "I thought you only went for men with money, kind of like I only go for men who breathe. EJ is hardly wealthy. Are you in love?"
Nicole scoffs, "NO! What's with all the questions? Lexie says she just feels for Nicole. She thinks EJ is only interested in Sami.
EJ continues to grill Sami about her feelings. Sami dodges the questions. "Did you mean it," he asks.
Time passes. A glacier whizzes by. Finally Sami gives him his answer, "Yeah... I did." She changes the subject and wonders how long they will be stuck there. He tries to reassure her, "Patch and Kayla will watch out for your mother."
"Who's going to watch out for them," asks Sami. Sami falls apart again only this time she has the comfort of EJ's arms to fall into.
Stefano tells John he'll get him back in the lab and make sure nothing goes wrong this time. He's not feeling the brotherly love but thinks John wasn't feeling it either when Stefano was "indisposed." John says Stefano will never get him back in that chair, "I'm gonna kill you first." Instead John kills the speaker. Tony walks up and watches the spectacle. Tony insists he's trying to help John. John reminds him he was trying to take his head off with the wrench. Tony says he can explain. John don' wan' no stinkin' explanation.
Tony insists he thought John was Stefano. He thinks the gas is making them do things they don't want and also to see things. John decides to get back to work.
Anna can't figure out what Marlena is trying to say. She solves that problem by leaving. Marlena contemplates the syringe.
Nicole talks about how many times Sami has hurt EJ. She thinks EJ realizes Sami isn't the gal for him.
Tim runs up to Roman, "We think we've caught a break!"
EJ and the gal that ain't for him cuddle. Sami is worried about everyone. EJ takes things a step further, "Does that include Lucas?"
"Of course."
EJ wants to know how she feels about Lucas. "I love him and always will," says Sami, "but he doesn't want anything to do with me so I have to move on." EJ wonders if that's why Sami admitted to feelings for him. "No," says Sami, "You were on the floor and I thought I had killed you and a lot of things came into play. Anything is possible. I'm sorry I can't promise you more than that."
"That's more than I had before," says EJ. He pulls her back into his arms.
Tim tells Roman and Abe they can tie the security cameras into the monitor at the nurses station.
"Tying cameras into a monitor," says Roman, "Bold new concept."
Sami sucks her thumb and looks up at EJ, "Can we just stay like this?" EJ tells her everything will be OK.
L'il Joe cries. Stefano walks up to him.
EJ and Sami cuddle. They take things beyond cuddling as Detective Tim hooks up the camera. Where's an elevator when you need one. Nicole watches.
Patch wakes up and chokes. He goes over to Kayla who whimpers. He helps her up. They go over to check on L'il Joe.
GONE!
Kayla falls apart. The blithering, blathering, blubbering, babbling, bawling, bimbo bounces around the room and spews, sobs, simpers, slobbers and snivels.
John works. Anna joins them, goes into a choking fit and passes out again. John twists wires.
The feed has gone out on Tim. Roman gets a call. He hangs up and reports, "Someone is trying to activate the emergency ventilation system. It doesn't look good."
A hand removes Marlena's mask. Marlena looks up and gasps, "You!"

Marlena contemplates the syringe is FUNNY. Thx as always!
When Marlena says, "You," I guess she is hallucinating seeing her dead twin sister. Spoilers say Hall will play two parts that day on the 20th to give Marlena some kind of warning. Wouldn't you think that since she has an oxygen max on that she would not be affected by the gas?
Don't you just love how nothing can be done to help in all these scenes and how Stefano with Rolf can work such tremendous feats as they do, yet they never let how they do them be explained ever. The viewers are just supposed to accept all these feats as "normal" without any questions. I say make soaps move faster in the storylines and make them real. Give the actors some happiness at least in between all the dramatics.
And please let Sami make up her mind as to whom she really loves. It's not Lucas. It's EJ. Then let both Lucas and EJ move on, and leave her alone for awhile. With all her blubbering, she needs to just grow up before she has another relationship. These characters start to become adults, then the writers make them infants again. Just let them be adults and act like it.
When Stefano hands Joe over to Rolf, who knows what he is going to do to the baby? Kayla will fear that he has done something to her baby when she gets him back next week. Could anyone blame her for thinking that? Duh? But remember, in the past weeks, Rolf ably took care of Sami's twins, so he could have done the same thing to them. He told her in one show that he would never harm a child. But with Johnny being a DiMera, he could have done something to him so that Stefano could always locate him or control him in the future when needbe. Old Rolf apparently never changed at all.
Is John a robot now? With that remark Stefano made about rebooting him and his metamorphosis being completed then, it sure sounds like that to me. Also John was not affected by the plane crash or the gas from the hospital vents which are other clues he must be some kind of humanoid robot now.
I think when Marlena comes out of that paralysis, she will feel a lot more guilt about what she did to Stefano for all those months he was like that, and at least will have more empathy for what she did to him. To have your full sensory capacities, and be completely paralyzed would be a horrible hell to endure. In that respect I can understand how Stefano must feel. I really feel DOOL should just get rid of him once and for all time and stop all the insanity of Rolf and his "experiments" that are never explained.
I know that I may have a warped sense of humor, BUT this is better than the funnies(comics) on Sunday morning Prevuze you have done it again. With the help of slobbering Sami. To funny. Oh yeah I kinda think Roman has a thing for Nicole, he seems tho like trying to rehabilatate the bad girls. Love it today you were great!! c.

Yuck Yuck Yuck for Sami and EJ He is always lying to her. He has hurt her more than she has him. He doesn't love he just has the same obsession his father does for her mother. After the RAPE, blackmail and torture she shouldn't have feelings for her at all.
