Stefano's Personal Lab Rat
Kayla inserts an air tube over Marlena's nose and heads out to see what is going on.
Patch rummages through a cabinet as L'il Joe cries. Patch digs into L'il Joe's blankets and finds... more blankets.
Nurse Susan tells Chloe and Lucas the entire floor is on lockdown. She leaves. Chloe has a bad feeling. "So do I," says Lucas, "You're here." Lucas looks up and sees gas escaping from the vent in his room. He decides not to stick around to find out what it is.
Patch trashes the place. He goes a couple rounds with the door. The door wins. Patch screams, "Anybody out there?"
John settles the crowd and turns on the TV. The news anchor reports, "We have no idea why the hospital is locked down." Perhaps they never thought of calling the hospital? Apparently the TV stations has the same high standards of professionalism as the Salem PD. Sami panics. The anchor goes on to report, "Salem police have arrived at the hospital."
"We're dead," says John.
Patch talks to the blankets. He tries his cell phone which, of course, is dead. With nothing working, he goes back to doing what any reasonable person would do. He continues to trash the place, "Is everything locked in this place?"
Kayla finds nurse Susan. Susan tells her as much as she knows. Kayla panics and goes to look for Steve and L'il Joe.
Anna freaks. Tony tries to calm her down. Anna thinks they should go somewhere else. Tony asks, "What difference would it make? The gas is everywhere."
Anna says, "He really is trying to kill us, isn't he?" John thinks Tony might know where Stefano is.
Patch finds an oxygen tank and starts it up. He slips the mask over L'il Joe. Thank God. The blankets can breathe now. Kayla rushes up to the door, punches in her access code and runs in. The dingbat lets the door close behind her. Patch dives for it but, once again, the door gets the best of him.
Lucas dresses. He and Chloe use towels to cover their faces. Lucas encourages Chloe to use hers as a gag. Chloe asks, "Do you think that stuff is fatal?"
"Probably not," says Lucas, "But it might kill us."
Chloe goes off the deep end. "Just concentrate on me," says the ever-modest Lucas, "We can't panic. Stay strong, focused, quiet." Lucas and Chloe trek out into the gas filled hall.
Sami and EJ come into the waiting area.
A hand removes Marlena's mask.
Sami panics. She says she keeps thinking about Allie and Johnny. EJ vows to find a way out of there. Sami comes unglued as she looks at EJ and watches him morph into Stefano, "OMG! OMG! You SOB! You did this to us!"
Tony hands Anna a cloth. She's worried that Stefano is trying to kill them. She asks how Tony is doing. "Not bad," says Tony, "I'm having hallucinations... feelings of extreme anger... seeing scenes from DOOL..." They huddle and gasp for air.
Marlena chokes as John comes in. He tells her it'll be OK, but forgets to put her mask back on. Marlena turns blue.
Tony comforts Anna. He says he blames himself for not stopping Stefano. Anna supports him. She knows he would have stopped this if he could. Tony vows they will get out of this and Stefano will never bother them again, "He rarely visits the graveyard."
Kayla faints. Patch tries to talk her back to consciousness.
John asks Marlena if she has seen Stefano. No answer. He replaces the oxygen mask and tells her he will be back.
Stefano finds Sami in the hallway, "Good evening, Samantha."
Sami huffs and puffs, "What have you done?"
Stefano says he's been looking for her. Sami screams for help. Stefano insists he won't hurt her as long as she cooperates. They argue about what he did to Marlena. Stefano says, "Marlena committed a heinous, terrible crime." Sami struggles to get out as Stefano tells her she has unlimited potential. He thinks she can be the future of the family. He thinks she will change her tune when she hears what he has to offer her son. Sami tells him he has nothing to offer. Stefano wants her and Elvis together and promises they will have it all and Giovanni will be first in the line of new DiMera heirs.
Chloe and Lucas choke as gas pours out of the vent. Chloe thinks they should split up. Lucas vows never to leave her. Then he considers the possibilities of a little peace, quiet and whinelessness and takes off like a scared jackrabbit.
Tony tells Anna they can't let his father win. "How can we outsmart the devil himself," asks Anna. Tony insists Stefano is not the devil, but is human, just like the rest of them. Tony wants to go find John. Anna says she needs to rest and wants him to go alone. Tony argues but goes.
EJ runs into John. John asks, "Are you functional?"
"Not really," says EJ, "I'm still trying to recover from being with Sami, but otherwise I'm OK."
"We're dealing with a psychopath," says John.
"I know," says EJ, "But since Samantha isn't around, we also have to deal with Stefano." He wonders why John isn't affected by all the gas.
John thinks it's the immunity to toxins he has built up over the years, "Living with Marlena at least had that advantage." He heads back to Blondie's room. EJ goes to look for Sami.
Chloe runs into Marlena's room choking. She fills her in on the situation on the floor and tells Marlena she will go for help. She turns to run out and sees herself in the mirror.
SCARS! SCREEEEEEEEAM!
Stefano tells Sami he wants heirs. Sami insists that will never happen, "Johnny will grow up to be strong and decent. And warped to the gills because of his nutso mother."
"Do not fight the inevitable," says Stefano, "But I admire you because of your passion."
Sami blithers, "I am passionate about staying away from DiMeras for all the Days Of Our Lives. She backs into a stairwell door and it opens. "GO TO HELL," she screams, as she runs through the door.
"Not this time," laughs Stefano.
Patch works on Kayla. He squeezes her nose and that brings her out of it. Kayla struggles and babbles. Patch puts a mask over her face. "What would I do without you," asks Kayla.
"You'd be doomed to have to handle our self-destructive daughter all by yourself." Suddenly, Kayla panics about leaving Marlena. Patch tries to comfort her.
Sami runs down the stairs. She remembers meeting Stefano to end the vendetta. Stefano tells her there is no turning back. We have vendetta flashbacks. Sami panics and runs. EJ looks for her.
Chloe looks at her scars and runs in panic. She bumps into Stefano, "Chloe Lane... You look marvelous."
"You're not real," snivels Chloe. Stefano assures her he is. She wonders what is going on. "This situation is kind of operatic, isn't it," asks Stefano, "You know all about operatic situations, don't you?".
"Not really," says Chloe, "I just sing. I don't pay attention to what I'm doing. I'm going for help." Chloe runs.
"You will need it," chuckles Stefano, "Pleasure to see you again Chloe lane. Ciao."
Stefano goes into Marlena's room, "Well, well, the tides are certainly turning. Comfortable? No? Good. Get used to it." He removes Marlena's mask and whisks gas into her face.
Patch tapes the vent shut. Kayla swoons.
Lucas runs up to Chloe. Chloe turns on the hysteria afterburners, "My face! The scars! Can't you see it?"
Lucas says, "There is nothing wrong with your face, that a closed mouth wouldn't cure."
"I saw it," squeals Chloe, "The bacteria was eating away at my face. Was I hallucinating?" Lucas can't get away from her. He smashes his face up to a vent and sucks in as much gas as possible.
John and Tony run up and Chloe tells them she saw Stefano outside Marlena's room. John and Tony rush to head Black Bart off at the pass.
Chloe ramps up the panicification. "Lucas," she whines, "What's happening to us? Are you seeing things?"
"A nutty bimbo," says Lucas. Chloe thinks Stefano is behind this. Lucas doesn't think he's trying to kill them. Chloe reminds Lucas he shot Stefano's son. Lucas gets dizzy and lies down. He insists he's OK though. Chloe tries to wake him but can't.
Tony and John walk and choke. John wonders if Chloe was hallucinating. Tony wonders why John is unaffected by the gas. "Because I was Stefano's personal lab rat," he says. He surveys the walls and says he figures there is a way to ventilate the building, "Come with me."
Marlena vegetates as Stefano comes back in. He leans over her, "Are you trying to speak? You seem to have something on your mind." He removes the mask.
Kayla says she is OK. She knows the oxygen won't last forever. DOWN GOES PATCH! Kayla crawls over to him and then back to L'il Joe. Then she crawls to the door whimpering for help.
Stefano walks down the stairwell and calls for Sami, then turns into EJ. Sami stands beneath him on the next flight of stairs. She sees him coming and trips him as he descends. EJ takes a nosedive. Roll-roll-roll-roll-roll. He lands in a crumpled and twisted heap at the bottom of the stairs. Sami comes up to his broken body, "DIE YOU SOB!"

Isn’t that the truth. I’m beginning to think that Sami is incapable of a thought based on any form of logic.

The gas attack appears to be bringing the best out of Lucas. Maybe he should try subsisting on a diet of chili dogs and black bean burritos.
Obviously, Stefano is immune to hallucinogenic gases and was able to maintain muscle tone while in a coma. Geez. They’re in a hospital. Where are all the oxygen tanks?
Loved the photo of Sami and the noxious emissions. Also I have to give a shout out to Carrie and Bulldog for the Botox party and dust bunnies. Sounds like an extremely silly but entertaining episode of Daze. Great job Prevuze!!!

Silliness doesn't begin to describe this episode - all of the gas and running around and yelling and running around and...
I was getting dizzy just reading it. Howabout everyone just getting together and quietly (so as to not breath so much gas) discuss a logical plan of action.

I can't help but wonder why Stefano is going to have Lil Joe kidnapped instead of Johnny next? But then who knows why Stefano does the things he does?
Too bad he and Rolf won't share all their medical secrets with the rest of the world?

And this is what gets me the most -Kayla going into a panic over leaving Marlena. To hell with any other patients, visitors or hospital staff, we gotta take care of Marlena!
I can see a recycled script coming up. Sami will stick with EJ because he's paralyzed and she feels guilty. Only he really isn't paralyzed just faking. Didn't they do that with those two already? Or Sami/Austin?
Oh well. Prevuze will find something witty to cover the inaction whatever it turns out to be. Great Prevuze and pictures today!!
Wow according to all the spoiler sites, we are going to have to wait till the middle of next week before the Scooby DOOL Gang get out of the "gas chamber"

In her fantasy, Nicole accuses E.J. of having an affair with Sami; after she finishes daydream, Nicole rushes to the hospital to check on E.J.

John is able to activate the ventilation system at the hospital; Marlena is visited by her dead twin sister and they argue over whether or not Marlena should give up on John; Stefano hands baby Joe over to Rolf.

Roman briefs Abe on the situation at the hospital; Lucas and Chloe run into Stefano; Kayla and Steve wake up and realize Joe is gone; Stefano, in a pre-recorded message, says he wants to press charges against Marlena.

I dont think EJ is going to be paralyzed. Maybe he will have a concusion or dislocated shoulder. I doubt Ejami would have that intimate moment if EJ was really hurt.

So Tony and most everyone else is having these hallucinations, but Sami's the only one running around like a complete mad woman? Well Chloe too, but at least she comes out of it much sooner.
You know, this Stefand crap is just amazing. How is that man not locked in prison??? They were gonna throw Rolf in the slammer and throw away the key, and he was just a "Pawn." Stefano admits that everybody that was against him is gonna pay, has Marlena put down and locks down and gasses the 7th floor of Salem General and he will walk a free man. What BS, not even close to good writing. Has nothing at all resembling the real world, he!!, any world for that matter. Thanks Prevuze for helping me NOT watch this drivel.
