Crawling Up Your Jockstrap
EJ and Sami sit together in the pub. EJ says he and Sami have to get outta Dodge. When Stefano is in jail permanently they can come back to Salem. Sami gasps, "Are you insane?"
Patch wheels a beer keg into the pub on a hand truck. Caroline tells him to put it downstairs. "I already put most of the stuff down there," says Patch, "right beside that smelly old water heater you're storing down there. You really should get rid of that stinkin' thing." Caroline tells him she really appreciates this. Patch says he knew the truth would come out sooner or later.
"What would that be," asks Caroline.
"Why you let your daughter marry me," says Patch.
Why is that," asks Caroline, "So I could have a workhorse around the place when I needed him? "
"No," says Patch, "So you would have someone with the IQ of a workhorse who would fit in with the rest of the family."
Caroline worries about Shawn. Patch reassures her. Caroline says she has never seen Kayla so happy. She remembers when they were dating, "You were a diamond in the rough, minus the diamond."
Caroline leaves and Kayla joins him at the bar. Patch gets a confused look on his face, "You look beautiful. You got my blood pumping."
"Good," says Kayla, "I need your body."
Marlena comes out of John's room and zones. She remembers consoling Belle and introducing John-zombie.
Hope interrupts and asks how Belle is. Marlena says better now that she has seen John. Bo is surprised they let John out of his room. Marlena says he's back in bed and restrained. She says Belle was overwhelmed when she saw John, but sensed something was wrong. She tells them John pretended to know her. Marlena thinks John is beginning to believe in her and trust her, "I believe he'll come back just the way Patch did, using the same script and everything.
The cops restrain John as Roman watches. He accuses John of putting on an act. He says he can't trust John, "You may fool Marlena but you won't fool me."
"What do you think I'm gonna do," drones John.
Roman says, "I think you're gonna do whatever Stefano stuffed in that brain of yours. I'm not gonna let it happen."
Patch is hot to go. He turns on the sweet talk, but Kayla slows him down. She says her chart tells her when the optimal time is. Patch has a plan, "If we just do it all the time, then we'll be sure to hit the right time." He attacks her. She backs him off, but not before all the customers lose their appetites and run out of the pub screaming. Patch begs, "You tell me you want my body and get me all revved up and say I can't have you..."
"That's because I actually got a good look at your body," says Kayla, "You can have me, but you're getting a gym membership for your birthday." Kayla tells him she'll go home, run all her tests and call him when the time is perfect.
"Just tell me one thing," says Patch.
"What?"
"What are you wearing under that dress?"
"Depends."
EJ presses for Sami to go into hiding with him. Sami doesn't like the idea. EJ says Stefano's primary objective is Johnny, "He wants Johnny to be Giovanni."
"That sappy piano player," asks Sami.
"Exactly," says EJ, "That's why we have to hide him."
Roman leaves to check on new leads. Bo follows. Hope thinks Stefano did a real number on John. She cautions Marlena to be careful. Right now Marlena is just glad John is back, "That means there is hope." She knows John is a fighter and he will fight Stefano's mind games. She knows soon he will put his arms around her, recognize her, and then run like hell. She also knows they will find Claire.
Claire plays with her GameBoy as she rambles along in the van with her captors, "Not if I can help it."
John works the lock. He closes his eyes and remembers being held captive in Stefano's chair of doom.
Caroline asks Patch if she heard him talking to Kayla. Patch says she went home and has something to do. Patch is in a hurry to go. She offers a sandwich. Patch bolts like the place is on fire. Patch certainly is, anyway.
The boys come back and tell the girls they don't have any news yet. Marlena thinks John could help, once he breaks Stefano's bonds. Bo and Roman get back at it.
John wiggles the lock and gets it loose. He remembers his TV torture. We flash back and watch John go out of his mind and scream as an hourglass appears on the screen in front of him.
Sami won't let Stefano take her son. EJ says that's why she has to go into hiding. Sami refuses. She starts to go but EJ stops her. Sami doesn't trust him, "Trust has to be earned."
EJ tells her Roman and Bo can't protect her, "They have their hands full. They were just seen coming out of a Krispy Kreme store." Sami says they will have someone else from the force come over and protect her. EJ reminds her Stefano has men in the police force and if Roman assigns someone it might be one of Stefano's men. Sami accuses him of running from Stefano and leaves.
Back home, Kayla finishes her test, "OMG, it's time!" She makes a call and tells patch they have to have an emergency romp. Patch tells her he's busy, but will get there as soon as he can break away. Meanwhile, there is a knock at Kayla's door. She answers to find a man standing there with a huge bouquet of yellow roses. "This isn't a good time," she says.
Patch, still on his cell phone, moves the flowers away from his face, "I guess I could come back later." Kayla hauls him into the room.

Patch and Kayla romp. Kayla wonders how Patch knew it was time. With Patch it's always time. Another knock interrupts things.
"Ignore it," says Kayla.
"Ignore what?"
Caroline shouts, "Kayla it's your mom."
EJ sends Sami to the back of the apartment and takes out a gun. He slowly opens the door. No one. He checks out the hallway and finds a box sitting on the floor. He opens it and takes it inside. Sami comes out and asks what it is. EJ pulls the dreaded deadly baby rattle out of the box, "He wants the baby." Sami wonders what if Stefano gets EJ and she has to defend the twins by herself.
"You almost sound like you care about me," says EJ.
"You're Johnny's father," says Sami, "You're right. We have to get out of here – but we're doing it my way."
"No we're not," says EJ. He makes a call.
John strengthens his grip on Marlena. She says she doesn't believe John would hurt her. John growls, "Not only would I hurt you, I will kill you." Suddenly, John starts shaking uncontrollably, and remembers his torture. Marlena gets loose and asks him what is happening. The cops rush in, "FREEZE!" Marlena tells them to back off.
Kayla shouts, "I'll be right there." She tells Patch to button up and lets Caroline in. Caroline beams, "Steve! There you are!"
Patch stammers, "Yeah, here I am."
EJ says he was just making arrangements. Sami asks what they are. "You'll see," says EJ. Sami says she won't just follow him blindly. Another knock interrupts. EJ goes to the door. He opens it to find Abe. Abe announces EJ called and said he needed help. EJ says he figured Abe would be the only person Sami would trust besides Roman to take her to a safe house. Sami thanks Abe for coming. She turns to Saint Elvis, "You called him for me?"
"You certainly weren't about to let me help you," he says.
They lock John up again. Marlena asks what he was thinking as John vibrates and struggles. "Why," she begs, "Tell me why."
Caroline says Patch forgot his wallet. Patch just couldn't be more grateful to her for returning it. Caroline also brought that great aphrodisiac, chowdah for them. Kayla smiles, "We'll enjoy this when we have time to relax after..."
"After what," asks Caroline.
"After they hand you the trophy for being the most dense person in Salem," says Patch.
Caroline asks if she can do anything else. Kayla escorts her out. She turns to Patch, "Was that rude?" As if Patch would care. "Where were we," she asks, as she rips his shirt off. Patch gets the idea.
Abe has arranged a safe house, "I'm worried, though, that you're going into hiding with a DiMera."
Sami says, "I have to believe you don't need to be concerned about that."
Marlena asks John why he feels he has to escape. "Consider the group I'm trapped here with," says John. Roman orders a 24-hour watch. The doctor comes in to sedate John. Marlena refuses to let them drug John.
"Mind your own business, woman," says John.
Marlena finally OK's the sedative. John struggles as they pump him up. The drugs kick in. "Can I have seconds," asks John.
Everyone else leaves. Marlena says, "That was no mistake. You knew what was happening. You didn't hurt me because you couldn't. You love me and one day you will come back to me."
"Only if I'm still drugged," says John.
Patch and Kayla maul each other. Kayla's beeper goes off. Patch begs her to ignore it but, of course, she checks it and makes a call. On the phone, Kayla says, "That sounds like something you could handle."
Patch is breathing heavily enough for the two of them, "Yes, I can handle it." He handles it.
Kayla continues to give advice, "Peter can be difficult, but this situation calls for firmness." If they were any less subtle, the FCC would step in.
"It's a leg cramp," says Kayla, "You can rub it out."
Patch obliges, "I will doctor. I will." Kayla hangs up and they hit the couch.
Abe says he will call later. A baby cries and Sami heads for the twins' room.
Abe gives EJ a look. EJ asks, "Did I do something wrong?"
Abe smiles, "Nothing that I know of."
"Why are you looking at me like that," asks EJ.
"You're a DiMera."
"Maybe you'll give me the opportunity to change that to was a DiMera. I know what you're thinking – once a DiMera always a DiMera. I wouldn't have called you if I were up to something."
"I've been around too long to drop my guard with a DiMera."
"Think of me as EJ Wells."
"A rose by any other name," says Abe.
"So," says EJ, "I guess your people really will be watching me."
"They will be crawling up your jockstrap." There has to be some kind of Emmy for that line. As Abe leaves, EJ assures him he loves his son.

Fade to the drugged John Black. He remembers his captivity. We zoom into the vapid, squintless eyes.

I found the Abe & EJ dialog a little weird... with Abe going on about how he learned to never let his guard down with a dimera -- WHAT ABOUT YOUR WIFE???? i know lexie's pulled a lot of crap but, never let his guard down, i don't think so. you know the minute she's back all will be forgiven.
Oh, and no one mentioned it, but when Belle was in the van with Crystal she said that "Brady's gone." What is that supposed to mean, Stepheno got to him first?

Great Prevuisms today, especially Marlena asking why John has to escape "Consider the group I'm trapped here with". Not just the group but I bet he wanted Marlena to just shut up and let him snooze already!
For me the best part of the Payla scenes was the near intervention by the FCC. HAHAHAHHA

Way to go Prevuez!!! Loved the S&K clips. And as for how Steve paid for the rosed, that's easy. Seeing how I own a florist, it's common practice for hubby to call ahead, use his debit/credit card to pay for the order, then stop on the way to wherever and pick up his order in a flash. Also explains why Steve's wallet was out of his pocket and left at the pub.

I don't see what the fuss is about Steve and Kayla. I prefer John and Marlena! Or Hope and Bo. Steve is cute and so is Kayla, but enough with all the smooching all the time! Talk about the "horny teenagers!" They are it!!
