Boy Scout Style
Belle and Marlena are at her place doing the Shawn and Belle Post Game Show. Belle whines, "I thought If I told him the truth we'd have a new start. Now, instead I've just destroyed everything." Thinking things through is a concept Belle hasn't been able to grasp yet.
Dr. Marlena Evans - Craig - Bradford - Brady - Black - North - Black - TBD gives her professional opinion, "There is nothing that can't be forgiven. And marriage is sacred. It should last a lifetime. Or at least until something better comes along." There is a knock at the door. Marlena opens it to find Shawn and NewClaire standing there.
Phillip is at the cop shop with Lucas. Phillip asks if he said anything when they brought him in. Lucas says for once in his life he didn't, but he knows the ballistics report can prove it was his gun. Phillip says that's not enough to convict him. Lucas thinks Sami doesn't care. Phillip tells him to stop feeling sorry for himself, "You did what you had to do. In my book that makes you a hero. An idiot but a heroic idiot."
Lucas admits he hasn't done anything this idiotic since that trip he and the other three musketeers took to the war zone to rescue some moron being held captive there.
EJ pays Sami a visit. Sami tells him Lucas has been arrested. She knows she has to call Will, but she just can't do it. EJ offers to help. Sami don' wan' no stinkin' help. EJ says, "Lucas is likely in some considerable danger."
Stefano and Carmine, The Krispy Kreme Twins, are at the DiMera mansion. Stefano is on the phone asking if Lucas' arrest is official, "I'll take it from here. Stay alert." He hangs up and ponders the fire in his fireplace, "Carmine!"
Godzilla says, "Yes sir!"
Stefano says, "I need you to do something for me."
"I'm out of time," says Belle, "But the empty space in my head will make up for that."
Lucas says he doesn't think he's a hero. He thinks Sami believes he ruined their lives. Phillip encourages him. He wants Lucas to take control of his life. Phillip will help. Lucas is skeptical. Phillip gives him a pep talk, "Come on, what's is gonna be, fight or fold?"
EJ says, "My father's philosophy is an eye for an eye."
"Mine is innocent until proven guilty," says Sami. EJ says he made it clear to Stefano he has no say in how they raise Johnny D. Sami can't believe EJ stood up to Stefano, "Do you have some kind of leverage on him? What do you have on your dad?"
Stefano says Rolf's time with Guestenstein is at an end. He lectures him for falling behind. Stefano needs a man who can follow orders. Rolf swears Frankenguest will be ready. Stefano rages, "If not I could lose everything! No more promises! You must do what you have to do and if you can't, then I will!"
Back at the pub, Hope does what she does best. She pries. Shawn reminds her Belle cheated. Hope doesn't want to be pushy. She pushes, "Shawn, you need to know that I knew something was going on between them." Shawn is upset she didn't say anything. She apologizes, "I'm sorry I didn't tell you. But if it's any consolation, I told everyone else in town. You have a right to be angry. Let it out. Let your anger out."
"What do you want me to do," he asks, "Drive my car through a wall?"
"That's been done," says Hope.
"Well," says Shawn, "I'm not going to do anything dumb."
"You're just not yourself these days, are you?"
Shawn wishes he didn't always feel angry. He's not going to let Belle screw up his life any more, "From now on, I'm screwing it up all by myself."
Marlena tells Belle she should feel guilty about Phillip. Belle knows what she did was wrong. "I know how it feels to be in love with two men," says Marlena, "Some people say it's not possible, but I know from experience it is. Two men... Three men... The Chicago Cubs..." Belle wonders why she threw everything away. She could have said no to Phillip, but didn't. Marlena thinks it's a big step for Belle to understand why she felt the way she did. Belle thinks she and Shawn can move on from here.
"He's moving on all right," says Marlena, "Alone. I wonder if you haven't always been in love with Phillip."
Lucas agrees he's got to fight. Phillip will bring in an attorney and they will shoot for bail. Lucas doesn't think they will get bail. Phillip says, "Let me ask you a question. Why are you so damn determined to pay?"
EJ says what he has on his father is no more or less than being his favorite son. Sami thinks he's holding back. EJ says he's not offering to help Lucas. He's offering to help Sami. He doesn't care about Lucas. Sami says she doesn't need EJ's help. She thinks Kate has the resources to help Lucas and will probably step in and do that. And Sami just simply sick of both Kate and Lucas. EJ, hearing this good news, wants to talk another time. Sami asks him to talk to Stefano. He says he will do what he can.
After he leaves, Sami looks at a picture of her and Will and Lucas. Johnny's crying interrupts.
Marlena and Belle know it's possible to love two men at the same time. Belle goes into whine mode. Shawn is her soul mate. Marlena thinks Shawn feels the same way. John was Marlena's soul mate. She feels like he is with her every day. Belle wishes her daddy were here. She hugs Marlena, who also wishes that with her whole heart.
Shawn rages, "Belle made a fool out of me."
"That's not true," says Hope, "You've always been a fool."
Shawn says he thought he and Belle had a bond that couldn't be broken, "But that's not true either. I told her I want a divorce."
Marlena comforts and advises Belle to give Shawn some time. Belle can't. She thinks she needs to push Shawn to open up. Marlena suggests taking Claire to see Sami, "Maybe that will help. She might have some good advice. You know what they say, two vacuums are better than one." Marlena tells Belle Lucas has been arrested. As Belle goes to collect Claire and her things, the doorbell rings. Marlena opens the door to find Roman. Belle rushes out past them.
Roman says, "I guess you don't want Belle to know the psychic said John is alive."
"She has enough on her plate right now," says Marlena.
"You're right," says Roman, "And her plate is pretty small."
Lucas says, "I'm prepared – Boy scout style,"
"Good," says Phillip, "And never say you're guilty. If we don't make bail, we'll petition the court for a new judge."
Lucas asks, "What – do you have the judge in your pocket?"
"There is no point in having money unless it gets spent," says Phillip. He leaves. Outside, he makes a call, "Get down to the courthouse and bring the whole farm if that's what it takes. We'll get that little legal problem taken care of."
Belle arrives at Sami's place. She and Claire go inside. Outside, Crystal sneaks around and talks on her phone, "I found her. Tell him I'll wait for him here."
Hope says, "Divorce is a major decision. But it's a good weapon to hang in Bo's face whenever I want him to do something." Phillip interrupts.
"Well, well, well," says Shawn, "You made a big mistake by coming here." He walks over and starts slamming his head into the bar just to show Phillip what a big mistake it was.
Phillip says, "Belle is in danger."
Sami and Belle watch Claire play with the twins' toys. Belle is sorry about Lucas. Sami doesn't want to talk about it. Belle tells Sami about the divorce. Sami can't believe Belle told Shawn about her romp with Phillip, "Truth – bold new concept." She thinks Shawn will forgive her.
"I love him with all my heart," whines Belle.
Sami is skeptical, "All of your heart."
"Yes."
Sami just knows they will get back together. She tells Belle Lucas shot EJ.
Shawn and Phillip get in each other's faces. Shawn is outnumbered. Phillip wants Shawn to talk to Belle. Shawn insists he and Belle are done talking. He and Hope team up to kick Phillip out. Outside, Phillip calls Marlena and says he needs to talk to Belle about some school issues with Claire. Marlena tells him she's at Sami's place. The posse heads for Dry Gulch.
EJ pounds the end of his cane into Stefano's door. Rolf answers and says Stefano is busy.
SSCCRREEAAMMMMMM!
EJ asks, "Rolf? What is that?"
Roman has no news on Crystal but he did find out about the medallion the woman is wearing in the picture, "It's of Celtic design – The mark of a warrior woman. I'll keep working on it." He asks why it's so important for Marlena to track down Crystal. Marlena reminds him Crystal knew about the picture. Roman says she would be surprised what a good con woman can pull off, "They sure do fool me every time."
Sami and Belle take turns beating themselves up. Sami says she doesn't know Lucas as well as she thought. Belle says, "Yeah, well, sleeping with my ex-husband who does that?"
Sami would list them all, but it's only an hour long show. Sami says she could list all the bad things she's done, but they don't have time for that either. She thinks she loves Belle more knowing she isn't perfect.
Crystal knocks and interrupts the pity party. She's there with a guy and says they have just moved in upstairs and a silver car is parked in their space. It's Belle's car, so she decides to go. Sami and Belle trade smoochies.
Outside Belle apologizes to Crystal for parking in her space. Crystal turns off her act, "Belle you need to come with us. We're here to help." Belle totally freaks out. She starts pounding on the apartment door, "SAMI! OPEN UP! OPEN UP!"
In that mysterious turn of events that can only happen in Salem, suddenly, Crystal and her cohort have disappeared and Phillip stands there. He hugs Belle.
EJ wants to know what's going on. Rolf says it's none of his concern. Stefano comes out and asks if there is a problem. He tells EJ to stay in the living room, "Why are you here? To apologize for keeping me away from my own grandson?"
EJ says Stefano can see Johnny whenever he wants to – as long as he's supervised. He also tells him Lucas has been arrested and EJ wants Stefano's word Lucas will not be killed before he comes to trial.
Hope is back at the pub. She was having so much fun prying into Shawn's affairs she decided to come back for another round, "I kept thinking about where we left things. I would never do anything to hurt you. I was just trying to protect you." She apologizes.
Shawn says it's OK, "It was the old Shawn who fell for all of Belle's lies. That Shawn would be angry now, but I'm going to stop blaming others for my problems. I'll deal with it."
"Good for you," says Hope. Hope is more than ready to jump in and... uh... "help."
"I mean I'll deal with them on my own." He leaves. Hope is crushed but tells herself there will be many more opportunities to meddle.
Belle and Phillip are back inside Sami's apartment. Belle becomes totally unglued. Johnny cries and Sami goes to tend to him. Belle wonders what they want from her. Phillip doesn't know. He suggests getting a bodyguard. As they walk out of the apartment together, Belle says the last thing she needs is another strange man in her life, "You and Shawn are strange enough for me."
Sami comes out and calls for them, but the apartment is empty. Her phone rings and voicemail picks up. Lucas says, "Sami, it's me... Pick up. I miss you. Hello? Are you there? OK... remember I love you. Always."
Stefano rages, "What? Allow Lucas to live free after shooting you?"
"His fate should be my decision," says EJ, "I know you have a code, but it's not for me."
Stefano won't turn his back on his family traditions so EJ can pretend to be less than he is, "It's already too late. The wheel has started to move." EJ turns and leaves.
Killer Nagurski, a.k.a. Godzilla, a.k.a. Carmine, does exercises in his jail cell. The smell of donuts wafts in from the command center and inspires him. A guard brings Lucas to the slammer and says that was the fastest arraignment he ever saw. Lucas goes inside the cell and acknowledges Killer. We share a few uncomfortable moments as Killer eyes his prey.
Marlena thinks Crystal isn't a con artist. She wonders why the face was torn off the picture. Roman thinks Stefano is behind this. Marlena doesn't think he is. Roman says if Crystal shows up to let him know. In the meantime he will continue to investigate the picture. He leaves.
Marlena makes a call. A cell phone rings in the laboooratory. It sits right next to Frankenguest's bound hand. His hand trembles as he picks up the phone and opens it.
Marlena says, "Hello? Is someone there? I'm looking for Stefano. Would you please say Dr. Evans is calling? Who is this? Hello?"
Guestenstein hangs up. Marlena shudders.

Darn straight Prevuze! I bet if you get near her shell-like ears you can hear the ocean.

That would be the spring training roster before any cuts have been made. By the way, I think it’s about 40 days until pitchers and catchers report. Oh, yes, hope always springs eternal for the Cubs but I digress. What’s with Marlena sending Belle off to seek counsel from Sami? With Marlena, they make the “Torn Between Two Lovers” trifecta. After her heart felt conversation with Belle, Marlena chooses to exacerbate the problem by telling Phillip where to find Belle. Marlena, can you say “enabler”? To top everything off, Marlena has Stefano’s cell phone number but it’s probably easy to remember, 555-EVIL.
It appears this episode is full of incredibly clumsy foreshadowing. For me, the Celtic design on the necklace tops the list. Are the writers nuts? Talk about a rhetorical question.

Killer Nagurski, a.k.a. Godzilla, a.k.a. Carmine, does exercises in his jail cell. So Steph tells Carmine to do something for him and Carmine just waltzes down to the cop shop and nicely asks them to put him in the same cell as Lucas will be gracing??
Of course there were many TLT moments today. I'll leave some for others to comment on. HAHAHA

Some info to bring everyone up to speed after my shocking revelations yesterday.
Dena Higley, evidently has made a deal with Satan.
She will cross the picket line and write for DOOL, in exchange for them letting her run with her "Colleen is John's mother" SL.
Ms. Higley originally wrote for DOOL from the mid '80s to 2004.
She then went to One Life to Live, over at ABC.
OLTL fired Ms. Higley in June.
Now just weeks away from the scripts written before the strike run out, Ken Corday (aka Satan) cut this deal with Ms. Highly.
Rumor has it that Hogan Sheffer is EXTREMELY pissed about this situation and is threatening to quit completely if this deal goes through.

I am a little PO'd that Shawn didn't lay into Hope for not telling him about Phelle.
He is so all about honesty and telling the truth and blah blah blah. He can't even talk to Belle, HIS WIFE. Yet to his MOMMY he he just says, OH okay, you're sorry you didn't tell me. It's all good.

As in Prevuze II today, how many times are we gonna have to hear Sami blaming herself for what's happening to Lucas? I'm taking bets. I'll say at least 1,000.
My two favorite Prevuisms today were Hope's "If it's any consolation, I told everyone else in town." and Jr. being outnumbered in faces when confronting Phil. HAHAHAHA

Dena Higley, evidently has made a deal with Satan.
She will cross the picket line and write for DOOL, in exchange for them letting her run with her "Colleen is John's mother" SL.
Talk about continuity or lack thereof. What a ridiculous choice to go down that road. I, too, have been checking out the spoilers. Someone who calms to be in the know has stated that John is Rolf’s science project. Since John’s wake was made into such a gut wrenching tear fest, this plot twist would be just so bogus. I suppose those who miss John will stand and cheer but, come on, was this all necessary? The same know-it-all proclaims the “nemesis” to be either Colleen or Susan Banks. Yuck.

If the person really had access to information, wouldn't they know whether the nemesis was Colleen or Susan?
Color me really skeptical about all the "inside info" floating around about Higley lately.
In the interest of equal time, here's some information posted by a trusted poster at TWoP that doesn't quite jive with some of the Higley stuff that's being repeated:
"Apparently, the decision to let BD go initially was not Hogan's idea but was producer driven (whether it was Ed or Kenny, I don't know). Hogan was told to write for Lumi initially and he did, but then they vetoed every idea he came up with and he was then told to reverse course on them. That's when Lucas became EJ's shooter (a storyline that was rewritten twice apparently), but it's not clear if there was ever an official decision to let Bryan go. My source doesn't think that Dena had anything to do with the decision to re-sign Bryan and that, despite what is being said publicly, the decision to keep him around isn't set in stone just yet.
Given these apparent inaccuracies in the original spoiler, there is more reason to believe that the stuff about John being alive and it all being Higley's idea, etc., etc. might also be inaccurate. As others point out, it doesn't make a lot of sense since we all speculated about this from the beginning.
Finally, I was asked to pass along the message that Drake was not fired for budget reasons. Drake volunteered to take a pay cut 5 times last year if they would just let him work. Drake was always willing to take a pay cut to stay on the show and keep working. So, whatever the reasons were, it wasn't budget related, apparently."
Well beaker, I didn't post the "spoiler" about the nemesis being an "either or" situation for that very reason.
That said, the info I've read never indicates that the idea of John being alive was Higley's, just that the idea of Colleen being his mother.

I guess all black people are/will be related to the Carvers. Well, it makes sense I guess. They have Celeste, and Crystal. (Excellent names for mystics btw) They can be distant cousins or whatever.
