True Colors

Sami bustles around her apartment with a paint roller. She tells Will his room is almost finished. He says he'll only be there a few nights a week, "It will take more than redecorating to get me to move back in. But what about Dad? How much longer until you can get him to move back in?"

Sami Says, "I've tried to ask him a dozen times already, but I can't get him to shut up long enough to get a word in edgewise."

Lucas tells Victor he will have those figures on Victor's desk first thing in the morning. Victor has someone he wants Lucas to pick up at the airport, "It requires the utmost secrecy. His name is Dr. Hubert Weinstein." Lucas asks a favor. He tells Victor he and Sami want to take will on a ski trip next week and will need a couple days off. Victor OK's it.

Kate butts in. Lucas leaves. Kate shows Victor an old copy of the San Diego Standard, "I found this when I was clearing off my desk for me and EJ." She shows him a picture of the latest marine battalion shipping from Pendleton. She swears she sees Phillip in the picture.

Willow comes out dressed to... well, the truth is she's not dressed. She hears Belle coming down the hall and scampers into the closet. Belle comes in with Claire, "Where is your daddy?"

Daddy delivers a message to EJ. EJ pays. Shawn counts the cash. EJ thanks him. "No problem," says Shawn as he leaves.

EJ opens the envelope and reads, "Bo knows about Eve. The cops are closing in."

Tek, Roman and John are having a big confab in Abe's office. Bo walks in. John tells him about EJ's safe deposit box at Salem Trust. Abe growls, "We had enough trouble getting a search warrant to search Patrick's apartment. Judge Fitzpatrick will not grant a warrant to get into EJ's safe deposit box."

A little thing like the law isn't going to stop John, "So we do it without a warrant."

Sami says Lucas and her are working hard to be the kind of parents Will should have. Will whines, "I know there is a reason you two keep going back to each other." Sami thinks it's because of him. He isn't so sure. He thinks things could work out for the three of them. Will leaves.

Sami looks at a picture of Will and Lucas. EJ knocks. Sami wonders why he is there. EJ pushes his way in, "Why don't we just get down to business?" Hot kiss.

Tek says he has access to sophisticated equipment and can find out what's in the safe deposit box without opening it. Abe nukes, "I don't want to add fraud and illegal search to this case. Detective Kramer you're dismissed!"

Tek is indignant, "After all I've done to help on this case, you want to kick me out." He leaves Roman follows.

John tells Abe they need to look inside the box, "I'm not on the force. We can do this on our own."

Willow dresses in the closet. Shawn returns. He wonders what Belle is doing there. Belle tells him, "We took a page from Marlena's book and dropped in." Claire is a fussbudget. Belle says they came over to bring him some pictures they had taken at the mall. She wants him to help pick a couple out for Claire's Christmas shot. Claire fights and fusses. Shawn thanks her for doing this. Willow rolls her eyes in the closet.

Shawn doesn't know how they will pick. "All the pictures are so great. She's beautiful... just like her mother."

Belle lectures Shawn about leaving his door unlocked. Shawn is confused. He's used to that, but still wonders to himself why the door was unlocked. He searches the apartment while Belle yammers. Shawn is preoccupied. Belle thinks this is unusual, even for someone with the attention span of a dead flea, "What's wrong? You want to tell me what's really going on?" Shawn discovers Willow cowering in the closet.

Victor tells Kate he thinks the picture doesn't look like Phillip. He says he has the best detectives on Phillip's trail, "Besides, the marines wouldn't send him into combat. He's missing a leg and, after his racecar accident, half of his brain." Kate rants about getting in touch with the military. Victor says he will get in touch with the pentagon, "But he's gone, Kate. Possibly for good. He isn't in combat."

Shawn says he can't believe he left the door unlocked and it won't happen again. They go back to the pictures. Shawn picks a couple of pictures he likes. Oh, happy-happy, they are the same ones Belle likes. Great minds think alike. So do Shawn and Belle's. Shawn drags out the new toys he got for Claire. He hands Belle a wad-o-cash, "If Claire needs anything else, buy it for her." Willow rolls her eyes again.

Sami pushes EJ away. EJ just wants to start up where they left off. Sami says she is busy and opens the door for him. He pushes it shut, "How long do you think you can play this game? You won't mind taking this to the next level unless there was some other reason for your visit. While you were distracting me, someone was going through my apartment – like John Black or Bo Brady. You wouldn't know anything about that, would you?"

Abe says he won't look the other way. Bo backs up Abe. He thinks John should back off the case. You have to get up pretty early in the morning to put one over on La Cucaracha, "SHE GOT TO YOU, DIDN'T SHE?"

Bo is busted, "She was worried about you."

John, Abe and Bo argue about how to handle the case. Abe tells them both to back off, "Leave this case to the professional police officers. If you can't do that, leave it to the Salem PD."

Abe leaves. John jumps down Bo's throat. He says either they work together or John will work alone, "You choose."

Belle puts Claire in the crib and says the money Shawn has given her is too much. She thanks him, though. She can't imagine what he is doing for EJ that pays so much. Shawn rambles about how good he is with engines and how much EJ needs him. Belle apologizes and says she is glad he's doing so well, "I don't even have a job. I always wanted a career, but unfortunately that requires some sort of skill and intelligence."

Shawn says she can count on him. Shawn walks them out. Willow blasts out of the closet, "TELL THAT BITCH TO CALL THE NEXT TIME SHE COMES BY! Belle, too."

Kate can't believe what she is hearing. Victor doesn’t think this is a solid lead. Kate thinks he is hiding something. He wants to know what she is implying. "What I'm implying," says Kate, "is I think you know a little bit more about Phillip's whereabouts than you're letting on."

Roman tells Tek to back off. Tek thinks Abe hates his guts. "Why doesn't he just fire me?"

Abe comes up behind them and unloads on Tek, "I'm sick of taking tour crap."

Tek spews, "Let me go. Show some guts!" Tek walks off.

Roman says, "Abe, your department is coming apart at the seams."

"It's good to have the Salem PD back to normal," says Abe.

Bo tells John he appreciates what he has done. John says it's not enough until EJ and Patrick are in jail.

Abe comes back in and overhears, "John's right. If you know a way into that safe deposit box, let's hear it."

Sami says she knows nothing about a break-in. She came over because she felt bad about what was happening between them, "But Lucas and I have talked and..."

EJ sneers, "I'm not interested in you and Lucas. I'm interested in knowing who sent you." Lucas listens outside.

"I'm confused," says EJ, "Do you know something about the break-in?"

Sami whimpers, "You need to leave." EJ grabs her. Sami struggles.

EJ says, "I don't think I'm ready to leave."

Sami yells, "NO! STOP!"

Mighty Mouth comes in to save the day, "Get your damn hands off of her!"

Victor asks why he would hide Phillip's whereabouts. Kate doesn't know, but thinks he is acting strangely. Belle shows up. She says Claire misses her great grandpa.

Kate says, "Well, Victor, I didn't know that you had visitation privileges."

"Claire is a Kiriakis," says Victor. He turns to Belle, "Kate was just leaving."

Kate has a parting shot, "I find this all very interesting. Suddenly you're showing more interest in Claire than when Phillip thought she was his daughter." Kate leaves. Outside she stops and ponders things.

Victor tells Belle Kate is still grieving over Phillip. Belle hopes he comes back someday.

Shawn yells at Willow, "Don't you ever call her that again!"

"I have to hide every time she comes around," says Willow.

Shawn says, "I'm just trying to be a good father."

"You're living a lie," says willow, "You don't even know what you're doing for EJ. You are a hypocrite, living with your ex-hooker girlfriend and not telling the mother of your child. Once she finds out, you will be out of her life forever."

John says if they get a death certificate and a probated will, he can pose as the executor of EJ's estate and get into the safe deposit box.

Abe is skeptical, "So that's all. All we have to do is wait for EJ to die, or are you suggesting we kill him?"

Bo flips a coin at his bud John and says, "As fun as that would be, I don't think we have to do it. I think this plan will work." Bo gives John a bonding buddy punch.

Shawn says he told Willow she would have to lay low. She freaks, "I'm heading back to the 'Y.'" She heads into the other room. SLAM! She comes back out with a couple of her bags. SLAM! "I'll be back for the rest of my stuff."

"No," says Shawn, "I don't want you to go."

Victor is surprised to hear Belle say that. She says she misses Phillip as a friend. Victor says the one thing they know about Phillip is he is strong. He is sure Phillip is doing fine, wherever he is, "One day he will have everything he deserves." He sends her on her way so he can spoil his granddaughter, "I know exactly what she needs."

Belle leaves. Outside, Kate meets her. She wants to show her the picture in the paper. Belle looks at the article, "I prefer stories with lots of pictures, don't you? "

Lucas pulls EJ off of Sami and asks if she is OK. Sami blubbers, "He wasn't going to stop!"

"Spare me," says EJ. He accuses her of being a tease, "You showed me your true colors today. I'm a little disappointed but not surprised." He leaves.

Quivering Sami falls into Lucas' arms, "I thought he was my friend."

Lucas mouth goes a mile a minute, "I told you since day one he is trouble. I listened in while you talked to him. I was standing outside. What's all this about a break-in?"

Sami tells him what happened, "John called and asked me to go over and distract EJ. I went over there and he wasn't believing my excuse for why I came, so I kissed him. It was a stupid thing to do. I couldn't think of anything else. Now he thinks I'm a tease. That's the same thing Alan said to me. That's the only excuse he needed to rape me and you probably think I was asking for it."

Lucas comforts her, "No... You're amazing and I am proud of you. It took guts to do what you did."

"Look where it got me," cries Sami, "He will be back."

"Just leave him to me."

"Lucas, what are you going to do?"

"I'm going all out on this one," says Lucas, "I'll short-sheet his bed AND hit him with a stink bomb. Other than that, you don't wanna know."

Tek drinks. He orders another. Bottoms up. He sees Lexie come in. The sot gets ideas.

Abe yells at Bo and John, "Are you two out of your minds?" Then he wonders why he wasted precious breath asking that. "If Frankie gets caught he will get disbarred." Bo says if they don't do this now they may lose EJ.

"We can't let this slip away," says John.

EJ sits at his computer and works as Lucas comes in. EJ wonders what Lucas wants. Lucas dumps a can of paint all over him, "I just want to show you my true colors. Go near Sami again and the next can will go all over your coffin." Lucas leaves before EJ has a chance to beat the crap out of him. Outside he smiles and says, "Short-sheeting is for juveniles."

Sami is out in the hall. Lucas tells her what he did.

"You got paint on your shoes," says Sami, "Let me help you clean them up." They go inside. EJ comes out and drips.

Lexie looks at the menu. Tek looks at Lexie. He pays the bartender and goes over to her and slurs, "Dr. Carver, Do you mind if I sit down?"

Willow slams her bag. Shawn says he's trying to get his life together for Claire. He needs this job even if her and his dad are right about EJ. He can't blow it now. Willow says, "I understand... I understand I was desperate! Even I have my limits. Nothing good ever happens to me."

Shawn says he will tell Belle not to come by again without letting him know, "It won't happen again. In fact, I will go over to her place." Willow's mood swings in the other direction. The earth shifts on its axis.

Belle looks at the newspaper picture and says, "OMG! Is that Phillip?"

"I thought so," says Kate, "I don't know for sure. I showed it to Victor but he thinks I'm crazy. I think he knows more than he is saying."

Victor takes Claire in to see the mummy, "Look who's come to visit her daddy."

"DA-DA," says Claire. Victor sits down with her. Phillip extends a hand. Claire smiles. Victor stares.

Sami cleans Lucas' shoes. She thinks he ruined them. He says it was worth it. "It's been a long time since anyone stood up for me like that," says Sami, "I don't know what to say."

"You don't have to say anything," says Lucas. Kiss.

"Lucas."

"Don't say anything," says Lucas, "Just kiss me."

More kissing. They do the loveseat limbo. Lucas forgets all about those figures he promised Victor and concentrates on another figure.

EJ cleans up. He finds a tiny TV camera as he ruffles through the paint-soaked papers on his desk, "What the hell?" He looks into the camera. His image fills the porn-mobile, "Whoever you are, you're going to be damn sorry."

Abe OK's the operation, "Just give me something I can use. Roman says, "And don't forget... If anything goes wrong, the secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions."

Bo says, "Let's go see Frankie about a death certificate."

John says, "By the time we get done with EJ Wells he's going to wish he were dead. For starters, we'll have him spend some more time with Kate."

Roman wishes the dynamic duo good luck as they leave. He turns to Abe, "Let's hope it works." FF Abe.

Shawn lectures his mommy, "You're living with one man while you're having another man's baby. Clean up the mess that you made out of your own life and stay the hell out of mine."

Sami asks Lucas, "How do you feel? Do you feel anything for me that doesn't involve your lower anatomy?" Lucas checks out his lower anatomy while he contemplates his answer.

Tek careens around the room yelling, "Fire me, big man! Fire me!" Rocky Carver punches his lights out.
