Nicole busts into the mansion wanting to talk to EJ. Rolf tries to chase her down and apologizes to EJ for letting her give him the slip. She tells Rolf EJ is her lawyer and shoos him away. She tells EJ she needs her divorce finalized – or rather her bank account needs her divorce finalized.

Sami comes in with Lucas, Allie and the cops.

Lexie and Daniel are hard at work in the hospital. "It sounds like you can't get enough of our hospital," says Lexie, "My offer still stands."

Daniel's eyes widen, "Oh, you mean the offer to work here." He starts to go but Lexie stops him and says she wants to speak to him in private.

John and Max are squared off for the big fight. Max screams, "YOU WANT A PIECE OF ME, OLD MAN? COME ON!" They head for each other like a couple of runaway locomotives, but Stephanie runs between them, smacks the stuffing out of both of them and tells them to behave.

EJ asks what happened. Sami tells him to ask Lucas. Allie screams. Lucas doesn't want him anywhere near her, but EJ picks her up and calms her down. Nicole goads Lucas as Sami drips praise all over EJ for the way he handled Allie. Lucas checks the Dweeb Manual to see how to handle the situation.

EJ asks what happened. Lucas flashes back to looking for the doll and losing the Allie, then to calling Sami from jail.

Phillip asks Victor how he could do this. Chloe announces she is leaving. Phillip tells her she's welcome to stay. Victor blows his stack at Phillip.

Sami tells EJ Lucas was arrested again for breaking the perimeter. Lucas tells him Allie wandered off and that's why he had to do it. EJ gets upset, takes Sami aside and tells her Lucas should be in jail. Nicole chimes in and EJ tells her to clam up. The cop tells Lucas he's leaving and warns him to stay inside the perimeter.

EJ announces he's going to go put the kids down for their nap. Lucas offers to do it instead and they get into it again. Nicole continues to provide the color commentary. EJ asks her to leave and they decide to meet over dinner and drinks. "Oh, goodie," says Nicole, a date." In keeping with the environmental theme on the show lately, Sami goes green.

Lucas and EJ continue to argue over the kids. EJ finally takes Sami aside, "Samantha, would you please make sure that he's not left with the children."

EJ wheels the buggy out. Sami and Lucas stare. Lucas revs up the mouth.

Stephanie continues to keep John and Max apart. Max gets macho and Stephanie tells him to back off. John growls, "Listen to your skirt, kid." Stephanie hauls Max off as Ava walks up. John shakes and stares at his wrists. He remembers his brainwashing. Ava asks, "Are you all right?"

John says, "Yeah, go away."

Ava says, "No, I can't, 'cause I know what you're going through. All those drugs take their toll, don't they? "

Lexie tells Daniel he's the only person she can talk to about this. She tells him about Theo's trouble at school. She can't get any definitive answers. Daniel hugs and comforts her. Chelsea walks up to the nurses' station and soaks it in.

Phillip tells Victor he can't tell him who he can see. Victor snorts, "I can't believe you would choose a piece of trash over your own family."

"It's impossible to tell the difference between my family and trash," says Phillip. Victor turns his back. Phillip turns and tells Chloe she should probably go. She says she'll be at the Salem Inn. She leaves. Phillip asks Victor if that was necessary.

Victor is direct, "Are you sleeping with her?"

"None of your business."

"You are," says Victor, "Do you really think that she will stay with you after she finds out you spent a half a million dollars on the drugs you planted on John's ship?"

Phillip says, "It depends on how much she likes cocaine."

Max and Stephanie come into the pub. Stephanie grills him. He brushes her off and goes to get ready to take his shift. Stephanie remembers the dust up at the dock.

Ava says, "I know a fellow mental case when I see one."

"John says, "Then a whole lot of people in this town should look familiar to you." He recognizes her, "You hold people hostage."

Ava knows him, too, "You're John Black, resident drug dealer." Ava asks if he wants a little company. "No." Ava thinks she could help him. "If that's true," says John, "then you are the only person in this town who could."

"That doesn't say a lot for your wife's psychiatric skills," says Ava.

Sami tells Lucas it would be best if he weren't alone with the twins. Lucas accuses her of taking EJ's side. EJ comes in and says the twins were exhausted and they are asleep. He leaves for his meeting with Nicole. Sami decides since EJ is gone, she can't go to the gym. Lucas says he can watch the kids, leading to another inane argument. Sami starts to walk away as Lucas goes into high verbal gear.

Victor asks, "What were you thinking?"

"Thinking," says Phillip, "I knew I left out part of my plan. I thought I would handle John." Victor thinks he left the family wide open for new attacks. He asks where Phillip got the drugs. "From an old friend of yours in Mexico," says Phillip. Victor should have quit while he was ahead.

Daniel and Lexie come up for air. She leaves and Daniel goes over to talk to Chelsea. Chelsea had no idea Lexie and Daniel were so close. Daniel thinks she's being pretty cool about it. "I'm cool with it," says Chelsea, "I'm a pretty cool person or I would have stopped talking to you after you lied bout having a girlfriend."

John breaks the ice and asks about Ava's doctor. Ava fills him in, "Daddy wanted me anything but sane."

"Daddy got his wish," says John, "But I empathize with you. A doctor once had a hand in making me a different person. I'm not the man I once was."

"I understand there is a little blue pill that takes care of that," says Ava.

"The Old John was a Boy Scout," says John, "I think I'm more interesting now..." Ava is silent. John figures he may have missed the mark, "Or not. People who knew me before don't connect with me now." John announces he is beyond help and starts to go. Ava asks him to wait.

Victor thinks Phillip is getting more and more like him. "We all get old and grumpy someday," says Phillip. This isn't the life Victor wanted for Phillip. Phillip says Victor did what he had to do to protect the family. Now Phillip has his own responsibilities. He asks Victor to trust him and not interfere. Phillip leaves. Victor stares.

Stephanie doesn't know what to do about Max. She figures she has to let him deal with it on his own. Max says he just had a bad day. Stephanie thinks he's having a bad century, "But I love you."

"I love you, too."

"I think you don't know what love is or you wouldn't keep shutting me out like this," says Stephanie.

"I think I know what peace and quiet is, so I keep shutting you out," says Max.

Daniel says he never lied to Chelsea. He was seeing someone. Chelsea supposes she is married and not available to Daniel. Daniel says he's been thinking about her accusation that he's drawn to women he can't commit to, "It's time to make a major change. If I commit to you, I won't be committing to a woman."

Chloe meets Phillip at the Java Café. Phillip clams up. He doesn't want to talk about his dad.

Chloe asks, "Does this mean our little arrangement is done?"

Ava tells John he needs to talk to someone. John feels less uncomfortable talking to her. Ava feels the same way.

Abe breaks up their little mutual admiration society, "Well, this is nice. I didn't know you two knew each other." Ava tells Abe they just met. Abe turns to John, "Then I would be wrong thinking Ava used her father's connections and helped you score cocaine."

"She had nothing to do with that, Commissioner."

"Since when do you call me Commissioner," asks Abe.

"Since I was told it's impolite to call someone a jerk," says John.

"I will be keeping my eye on you," says Abe.

"Not yours," says John, "Zack's." Abe walks off.

Phillip says their arrangement is still on. He says Victor is having a hard time letting go of control. Sami walks in. Chloe goes to talk to her. Sami don' wanna. Chloe begs her to give her a few minutes.

Stephanie has yet another flashback about Max and Nick's paper. She calls Nick and asks to talk to him about Max, "What should I do?"

"First," says Nick, "Stop having all those damned flashbacks."

Nicole meets EJ. EJ wants to chat about his little secret – that he and Sami are no longer married.

Daniel says he has always been a no-worries kinda guy, "But every once in a while I meet someone inspiring. On the other hand, sometimes I meet people like you. What you did for your dad was amazing. Since my wife died I've gone out of my way to avoid serious relationships with women. I've been an impulsive idiot."

Chelsea disagrees, "You're not an impulsive idiot. I don't find you impulsive at all."

"I'm attracted to you," says Daniel, "but the age difference, my wife and this other woman... I'm gonna deal with them on my own."

Chelsea understands, "I'm not gonna throw myself at you any more."

Speaking of women who throw themselves at men, Lexie flashes back to her lunch conversation with Abe. Abe comes in and snaps her out of it, "I have something important to tell you."

Ava and John stroll. John asks her to dinner. "Are you married," asks Ava.

"More or less"

"That's a yes or no question," says Ava, "I don't date married men. Take care of yourself, John Black." She leaves.

Chelsea thinks Daniel is making the right decision. She leaves. Daniel obsesses.

Abe says Lexie is right. The best thing they can do is have him examined by a specialist. "We probably should have Theo examined, too," says Lexie. "Now it's my turn to tell you something."

EJ says he was drunk when he spilled the beans. Nicole bets Sami would like to know his little secret.

Sami rants at Chloe for letting Brady become an addict. She huffs out. Phillip brings coffee. "Sometimes I don't know what Lucas sees in her," says Chloe. Phillip fills her in on the living arrangements over at the DiMera mansion. Chloe suddenly decides she has to go. She rushes out. Phillip watches.

EJ claims he doesn't know what Nicole is talking about, "Even if you are right what do you intend to do?" Nicole doesn't answer, but takes out a phone and calls Lucas.

Lucas answers. He finds out it's Nicole, "I'm hanging up now."

Nicole says, "You'll listen to me when I tell you what I have to say."
