God, Take Me Now
Belle and Phillip are getting ready for Sami’s wedding. Belle promises not to faint again. Sami wouldn’t be as understanding as Chloe and Brady were. Phillip comes out in uniform, walking. Belle is amazed.
Mimi yells at Shawn to hurry up.
Shawn wants to know how late they were up watching the movie. Mimi flashes back to the movie. As they watch, porn comes on the screen. “Hey,” says Shawn, “I don’t remember this part of Jurassic Park III.” Shawn goes for the remote to change it, then suddenly watches with interest.
Marlena lectures John, “If Dr. North goes, so do I.” John doesn’t want that. “Then,” says Marlena, “tell him you want him to stay and apologize to him.”
Will and Lucas talk. Will tells Lucas they just have to make sure Sami doesn’t screw this one up.
Sami tells Roman it would be great if the next wedding was he and Marlena. She asks if there is any chance Marlena would want to walk her down the aisle. Roman tells her not to get her hopes up.
Roman leaves and Lexie bumps into him outside the bride’s room. Roman tells her he is proud of Sami. He asks if things are better between Lexie and Abe.
“Well,” says Lexie, “we’re here together. That’s something. Is Kate coming?”
“No,” says Roman, “She wasn’t invited. I hope she has sense enough to stay home and not ruin Sami’s special day.”
At home, Kate talks to Lucas picture, “You are about to ruin your life.” There is a knock at the door. It’s Nicole. Kate tells her she doesn’t want to see her.
Nicole says, “Kate, we both hate Sami more than we hate each other.”
Kate ponders, “That’s true.”
Nicole says, “Sami could have stopped that wedding yesterday. When I tried to do it on my own Victor locked me in the bride’s room. I want revenge. I don’t care if it doesn’t get Brady back. I want to squash Sami’s dreams of marrying Lucas and living happily ever after once and for all.” This is also what she put on her application for a job as a DOOL writer. She was hired immediately.
Kate says, “Maybe we do have some common ground. This doesn’t mean we have the beginning of a beautiful friendship, though.”
Nicole raises a glass, “To Sami’s destruction. What is it with Sami and your sons? I thought Lucas was smarter than that. At least Austin saw her for what she really is.”
The phone rings. Kate picks it up thinking it is Billie.
“No, Mom, it’s not Billie, it’s Austin. My flight is delayed, I’ll be late.”
Sami is nervous. She wants to know where everyone is. Caroline points out maybe they don’t feel the need to be in church three hours before the wedding.
Bart paces, “The clock is ticking and there is no bomb attached to it yet.” He gets a phone call. “The count is counting on us. I don’t want to think of what will happen if we screw this up.”
Phillip isn’t going to try anything too strenuous. His new prosthesis is amazing. “I will be able to do the things I used to do.” He wants to sponsor a concert to help rid the world of mine fields. Belle promises they will do everything they can.
“After that mine exploded all I remember is asking God to give me one more chance to tell you I love you. I am so blessed to be alive and have you and our baby,” says Phillip.
Belle thinks they should finish getting ready.
Shawn and Mimi continue to watch the porn. Mimi gives him the remote. He flips back to JP-III. The movie is over. Mimi says they can still watch it since it comes on again in 30 minutes. Shawn gives her a peck, “You’re just, like, the best friend a guy could have.”
End of flashback. Shawn comes out. They tell each other, “You look hot.” Mimi reels him in and ties his tie.
John tells North he can stay. He chokes out the apology.
“Apology accepted,” says Alex, “It has been my experience, as bad as amnesia is on the patient, it can be worse on the family.”
“I just can’t believe how differently she is acting this morning,” says John, “Last night she was on the verge of a breakthrough. If I didn’t know better, I’d swear you did something to her.”
Alex flashes back to his escapades of the previous evening, “We know that’s impossible, since you virtually kept me prisoner in my room.”
Marlena asks Alex, “What are you talking about?”
In Salem ‘tis enough to talk,
To snivel, whine and shout,
But one never needs to know
What it’s all about.
Alex asks John, “Are you going to tell her or should I?”
John tells her about the monitoring devices.
Marlena says, “You were trying to keep my doctor away from me.”
Flashback to the brainwashing. Alex repeats over and over, “Alex will always be there to protect you.”
Marlena says, “I need him. He will always help and protect me. If you don’t get that, we will move out right now.”
“You don’t need to go anywhere,” says John.
“Well,” says Alex, “we certainly don’t want to be late for your daughter’s wedding.”
Roman says he knows he has been tough on Lucas, but he is the best thing ever to happen to Sami. He thanks Lucas. They hug.
Kate asks if Austin doesn’t want to reconsider going to the wedding, “The flight was delayed, maybe that’s God’s way of saying you should not be going.”
Kate hangs up. Nicole says, “Austin, huh? He’s a hell of a guy. I just wish we’d have met under different circumstances.” Flashback to Austin and Nicole. She has to let him go...
“Yeah,” says Nicole, “he’s something.”
“He’s off limits,” says Kate.
“The timing wasn’t right for us,” says Nicole, “Maybe now that he’s coming back...”
Kate says, “What, are you trying to torture me. Sami with Lucas? Austin with you? God, take me now. Why didn’t you just tell me what you had on Sami when there was time to stop the wedding?”
Because,” says Nicole, “She said she would help me keep Brady back. Do you want to know?”
“No,” says Kate, “It’s too late. OK, torture me some more. Tell me.”
“Sami was Stan.”
Kate chokes on her drink.
The loft crowd meets as they come out of their apartments. They can take Mimi’s car since it has been fixed. Mimi is amazed Phillip is walking.
Will and Lucas come up to the bride’s room door. Will announces the guests are starting to arrive. Sami slams the door when Lucas almost sees her. He says he left his x-ray vision glasses at home. Lucas and Will leave.
Sami tells Caroline things will be perfect. Caroline hands Sami the mirror. Sami drops it and it breaks, “OMG,” she says, “Seven years bad luck... starting right now.” Sami, if it’s retroactive, you have nothing to worry about.
“Time is wasting,” says Bart. A knock at the door. He picks up a bag lying there. “Excellente! Now all I gotta do is get this to the church on time.”
Roman greets Marlena. He tells her she is beautiful. “I know you and Sami talked about this and you said no, but would you walk her down the aisle with me? She has been dreaming about this since she was a little girl.”
Dr. North nods his approval, so Marlena agrees. John tells Marlena she doesn’t need to look to him for every decision. Marlena says she values his opinion. Marlena and Roman go off to tell Sami.
John tells Alex, “I don’t know what you did to her last night but, damn, you got to her.”
Alex says, “I used my alien powers to become invisible and get into her room”
John says, “Last night she wanted to be with me. Today, she’s walking around like a zombie again.”
“For her to become healed,” says Alex, “she must remember all the feelings she had before the accident. You don’t want her to regain all of her memory. You just want her to remember she loves you.”
John asks, “Why do I get the feeling you have some kind of agenda.” Perhaps it's his name badge, "HI! I'm Alex and I have an agenda!"
“All I want is what’s good for my patient,” says Alex, “but the stress of Marlena’s amnesia is taking its toll on you. May I suggest a good therapist.” John gives a quizzical look as Alex walks off.
Sami cries as Caroline cleans up the broken mirror. “I’m cursed,” says Sami.
“People make their own luck,” says Caroline, “There is nothing to be afraid of.”
Roman knocks at the door. Sami lets him and Marlena in. Sami’s so happy they are there and tells Caroline she is right. Roman tells Sami the good news, Marlena will walk her down the aisle. Sami thanks her, “You remember you love Dad, don’t you?”
“No,” says Marlena, “I don’t. But I do know we were married and you are our daughter. And the baby I lost was his.”
“Just know that baby was conceived in love,” says Roman.
Marlena says, “That dark haired girl that says she is my friend...”
Sami goes ballistic, “Kate Roberts is not your friend!”
Kate can’t believe it, “Sami was Stan? How?”
Nicole says, “Tony had this brilliant disguise made for her. He even had a device which would alter her voice.”
Kate panics, “We have to get to the church and stop the wedding. We have to tell Lucas.”
Nicole says, “There isn’t any proof, and he won’t believe us.”
“OMG,” says Kate, “this is why Tony said SAmi was the mistress of disguise. I thought he was talking about his lawyer. This explains everything. The disguise was in the car when it blew up.”
Nicole says, “Kate, the bitch got away with it and we can’t do anything about it.”
“Oh,” says Kate, “there is one thing.”
“You have a plan,” asks Nicole
“Absolutely.”
“What is it?”
“To get very, very, very drunk,” says Kate.
“To Sami,” says Nicole, “may she never have a moment’s happiness.”
“And rot in Hell,” says Kate, “The sooner the better.”
Phillip and Belle agree to meet at the altar. Shawn comes up as Phillip leaves. Belle tells him he looks great.
Shawn leaves. Mimi comes up and says, “You need to give it up, Belle.” Belle asks what she is talking about. Mimi pulls out a list of things Belle needs to give up. It’s the size of a giant roll of Charmin. “You need to see a shrink because you really have problems,” says Mimi.
Marlena tells Sami she looks beautiful in the dress. Belle comes in and is surprised to see Marlena there. “It’s true,” says Marlena, “I do have the two most beautiful daughters in Salem.”
“Are you remembering,” asks Belle.
“No,” says Marlena, “Sorry.”
Caroline hands Sami a blue garter. Something new and blue.
Belle gives Sami the pearls. Sami takes back all the nasty things she said about Belle. This takes a while. Marlena helps Sami put the necklace on.
The crowd assembles.
Shawn and Mimi sit behind John. Phillip asks Lucas if he is nervous.
“No,” says Lucas, “I just hope the wedding goes without a hitch.”
Belle walks down the aisle without fainting.
Here comes the bride... Roman and Marlena stand aside as Sami walks up. They take her arm. Glances between Sami and Lucas. Down the aisle we go.
John stares. North fidgets.
The priest asks, “Who gives this woman to this man in marriage.”
“We do.”
Sami steps up to the altar.
Roman goes to his seat and stretches his arm to Marlena. She stares at Chris/Roman and John/Roman but goes to Alex/Roman.
The ceremony starts, “Dearly beloved, we are gathered together to join in marriage Samantha Gene* Brady and Lucas Desmond Roberts...”
(*Thanks to all the readers who helped me with the spelling of Sami's middle name. I thought it was 'Jean' for sure).
Austin says, “I should have flown in last night after all.” The pilot announces they will land in about a half an hour. Which means,” says Austin, “I will miss the ceremony but get to the reception, IF the ceremony actually happens.”
Kate and Nicole drink in synch. Kate says, “We both know what Sami is. Why doesn’t Lucas know?”
“Do I have to explain it to you,” asks Nicole, “You know how men are. So is Austin really coming back to town?”
“Looks that way,” says Kate.
Nicole says, “Maybe I should go powder my... whatever.”
Kate says, “Don’t you even think of getting your money-grubbing claws into Austin.”
A knock at the door. Kate opens the door. No one is there. “Very funny,” she looks down, “What the hell is this?”
The priest continues, “Is there anyone present who knows of any reason why these two should not be joined in matrimony? Speak now or forever hold your peace. Sami looks around nervously. Will looks around. Pan through crowd staring.
After about an hour, the priest goes on, “Lucas, do you take Samantha to be your wedded wife, to love and honor her all the days of your life?”
“I do.”
“Samantha, do you take Lucas to be your wedded husband, to love and honor him all the days of your life?” Sami cries.

This time Bulldog beat me to my comment about the title of the episode. I thought Prevuze had finally gone over the edge with the stupidity of DAZE.
I loved the picture caption of Alex describing John's "jaw action" as a spastic camel. Much more descriptive than my name for it - CTF (Chewing the Fat).
And the "Lost Twins" was priceless. HAHAHAHA
Excellent post as always. You make it so I can actually enjoy the whole show and that is saying a lot. Even the worst parts are bearable because of your great humor. THANK YOU!
Only one tiny little thing, Sami is Gene (after Eugene Bradford), Roman 1 actually spelled it out on an episode when the twins were born.
Keep up the fantastic job. I so look forward to reading this every day.
Thanks for helping me correct the spelling of Sami's middle name. I'da never spelled it that way in a thousand years.
