Seaweed And Kiwi

Hope is at Jennifer's. Jennifer wants to throw Jack a party.

"Count me in," says Hope. Jennifer thanks her.

Jack collapses in the kitchen. Frankie finds him. Jack thinks this is it. The beginning of the end.

Lucas' doorbell rings. Lucas opens the door and there stands Eugenia, "Victor hired me as your new executive assistant."

Lucas drops his jaw, "He what?" Victor must have some heavy-duty faith in Lucas if he thinks he can't even hire his own assistant. Maybe he'll let him select the color of the water cooler in his office.

Lucas says there can't be any way Victor hired her after she plotted with his mother. Eugenia thinks Lucas should be grateful for saving him from Stan. He fires her. She tells him, "If you fire me I'll slap you with a lawsuit so fast your head will spin." Lucas' head spins.

Austin tells the girls he heard about a new skin care line, "Clear Visage." He wants to convince the inventor to go into business with them. Sami is delighted. Nicole is skeptical. She thinks they will have competition from Titan.

The inventor is Dr. Schnitzel. Sami thinks that's funny. Nicole lectures her to take things seriously. Austin wants to brainstorm. Sami wants to join in. Nicole takes her aside and tells her Austin won't be investing his future in her. "We'll see about that," says Sami.

"Isn't this cozy," says Alex, "Who would have ever thought the three of us would be living together?"

John says the arrangement is temporary. Alex says the information he gave Marlena will help her make the right decision. Roman is at the door with their divorce papers. Kate invites him in.

Alex/Roman and John/Roman say good morning to Chris/Roman. John/Roman takes him aside and says, "We have to do everything we can to keep that bastard away from Marlena."

Marlena reads the papers Alex gave her, "Now I know," says Marlena, "Now I know what I have to do."

Eugenia tells Lucas he can't fire someone just because he doesn’t like her. She suggests it wouldn't be a good thing to go against the 'big guy' when he is starting out. Lucas says OK, but he'd better not find her going behind his back.

Nicole thinks the first rule in advertising is SEX SELLS. Austin tells her to tone it down, "Schnitzel might be a science-type."

Austin works on the computer and finds Schnitzel is in Salem. Nicole thinks their market is 30 – 50 year olds. Sami butts in with a word for the younger set. Nicole asks how many wrinkled twenty year olds Sami knows. Austin breaks them up and tells Sami to take the day off.

Sami storms out and sees the door to Lucas' apartment is cracked open. She sneaks up and sees Eugenia in Lucas' apartment.

John/Roman fills Chris/Roman in on the papers Alex/Roman gave Marlena. Kate takes Chris/Roman aside. Chris/Roman just wants her to sign the papers. Kate tells him it's clear he wants a future with Marlena, "You'll have to take a number behind Alex/Roman and John/Roman."

Roman tells Kate there is no way Alex/Roman will ever be with Marlena.

Kate wants to know what power Marlena has over them that she treats them like dirt and they keep clamoring back for more.

John/Roman and Alex/Roman talk. John/Roman tells him those papers won't change Marlena's mind.

"No, it will just confirm it," says Alex/Roman.

No matter what you try the result will be the same. I will be with Marlena and you will be out of our lives for good," says John/Roman.

"Now that I know, I have to do it right away," says Marlena. She calls John. She tells him she wants to see him, and asks him to bring the other two Romans and Kate.

Jack writhes. He asks Frankie not to tell Jennifer this has started. Haul those zappers out folks. More of the same. Frankie vows silence.

Jennifer and Hope are planning the party when Frankie and Jack walk in. Jennifer gives Jack his green drink. Jack slugs it down. The drink itself almost kills him. Jennifer announces they are planning a party.

"A going away party," asks Jack.

"That's not funny," says Jennifer.

Hope and Frankie volunteer to plan the party. Jack tells Jennifer he wants to take her someplace special. They leave.

Sami listens to Lucas and Eugenia. Lucas tells her he has to work on the new skin line. Eugenia whispers, "The walls have ears."

Lucas opens the door and startles Sami. Sami asks how he could hire Eugenia. She tells him this is insane. Lucas wants to know why she isn't with Nicole and Austin right now. Sami says she just needed a break. She will prove to Lucas she can be successful, "and Titan will crash and burn." Sami imagines a scene with Austin after she has landed the Clear Visage account. Austin tells her Nicole is out. He wants her to be his new CEO, AND wants her to be his wife. He takes a knee, "Will you marry me?" Lucas busts in and says Sami's answer is no, she will work at Titan.

Sami snaps back to reality. Lucas says the three of them working together are a joke. Sami tells him they already have a meeting set up with Schnitzel.

"Schnitzel is in Salem? THANK YOU FOR THAT INFORMATION," says Lucas.

Eugenia tells Sami, "Girl, you are without a doubt your own worst enemy and you are going to be Austin's, too, when he finds out what you did."

Nicole overhears. She comes in and accuses Sami of having loose lips. Austin follows. Nicole tells Austin Sami spilled the beans. Chaos reigns. Austin bawls Sami out. Nicole tells him to fire her now.

Marlena thanks the motley crew for coming. She hasn't recovered her memory, but has had more flashes of her life with John. Marlena flashes back to special moments. John knew she would remember.

"I'm not done yet," says Marlena, "I'm not sure my decision is what you are expecting."

Jack and Jennifer lay on the hood of their car watching the planes take off. Jennifer reminds him of the last time they were there. Then, she thought nothing bad could ever happen to them. He has another surprise for her. He opens the computer, "It's a video scrapbook of all the Days Of Our Lives."

We run through memories. Christmases, pregnancy. Jennifer thinks it's beautiful.

Jack says, "It's kind of a remembrance from me to you. I want you keep it always, long after I'm..."

Jennifer shushes him, "Don't say that." Jennifer looks at the "remembrance." He should have given her an old vinyl record, broken, so all you hear when you play it is Jennifer saying over and over again, "I know what's going on, Jack."

Jennifer can't take it. Not to mention the poor audience.

Hope and Frankie plan the party. Frankie tells her he promised Jennifer he will stay as long as she needs him. Hope says he is in an awkward position. It might look like he's just waiting around for Jack to kick off. Hope knows Jennifer never stopped loving Frankie.

Marlena tells John/Roman the memories of their life together are sketchy. She tells Chris/Roman she knows their child was conceived in love. Back to John/Roman, "If I was in love with Chris/Roman I betrayed you. The question is who is the man with whom I belong?" Group stare.

Sami begs for another chance. Austin relents. Nicole ain't happy. Austin tells Sami when he told her to take the rest of the day off he meant it. Austin and Nicole go back to work.

"Poor Samster says Eugenia, "Looks like you lose again."

Frankie tells Hope Jennifer isn't in love with him. Hope says when Jennifer loses Jack the two of them might be good for each other. She hopes Frankie will stay on in Salem. Frankie tells her he promised Jack he would. Hope wants to know why Jack would ask him to stay in Salem. Frankie tells Hope Jack asked him to be there for Jennifer after he is gone, "He wants me to take his place. I just want to be there as a friend. But this is what Jack wants."

Hope is shocked. She thinks this is selfless on Jack's part, "When he is gone she will need you Frankie, more than ever."

Jack takes pictures. He tells Jennifer she can add them to her video memories. Jack has a spell.

Hope tells Frankie he was Jennifer's first real love. He has to keep his promise to Jack.

Jack recovers. Jennifer remembers his seaweed and kiwi shake. She goes to get it and Jack thinks about committing suicide. Jennifer brings him the shake and Jack swills it down. He tells her he loves her. Jennifer frets.

Lucas lands a meeting with Schnitzel.

Sami rants. She has to find a way to prove herself and have Nicole wind up in yesterday's trash.

Nicole tells Austin he should have fired Sami. Austin is determined to put a presentation together which will blow Schnitzel away. Austin checks his computer and finds out Schnitzel already has an appointment with Titan. Nicole says she has an idea.

Marlena is ready to resolve things. She says, "I know now the person with whom I'm going to spend my life." All the Romans stare.
