Do You Know What You're Getting Into?

Nicole strolls down the hall of the hospital holding Sydney like a sack of potatoes. She walks up to Dr. Baker and scowls. "Are you glad to see me," asks Baker.

"No," says Nicole, "And, yes, that is a gun in my Pocket."

Baker says the job offer he had in Detroit fell through, "I used to play high school football, but now I'm a dumpy old guy with a bad arm. The Lions brass thought I was too good to be their quarterback." He says Nicole should be tickled pink he is back in Salem, "Because now Sydney has a doctor who knows everything."

"In Salem," says Nicole, "We're happy just to have a doctor who knows anything."

Mia flashes back to having her baby, but not wanting to see her as Will tries to hand Grace to her. Mia whines, "I can't."

Stefano walks into the pub and sees Phillip and Stephanie up at the bar, "Just what I needed. I go for a walk and come face to face to face with the bastard who murdered my son."

Sami shows up at the DiMera mansion with her condolences. She hugs EJ.

Nicole thinks this is her worst nightmare. Baker says her worst nightmare would be someone finding out about the switcheroo. Nicole tells him they are done. Baker says he can't leave town, "I need the income." Nicole accuses him of coming back to blackmail her. Baker says, "Well, I do realize if I were in need I have an old friend who would help out a pal."

Sami and EJ talk about Tony. EJ says he realizes he wasn't very kind to Tony over the last few weeks. It troubles him that when Tony died he felt neither EJ nor Stefano had respect for him. Sami tries to comfort him. EJ whines, "Knowing Tony is never coming back makes the DiMera mansion seem empty."

"I know that's the way you feel, but it's all in your mind," says Sami.

"That's empty, too," says EJ.

Sami asks about the memorial service. EJ says it was this morning and Stefano barely managed to get through it. "I have something that might make you feel better," says Sami.

"Oh, you're leaving," asks EJ.

Mia says, "Once you hold a baby you get all the feelings that you never knew were there."

"That's right," says Will, "Right now I'm feeling a little soggy."

Nicole snorts, "You are not getting a dime from me."

"You always did think small," says Baker.

"Once you've been with Lucas and EJ," says Nicole, "Thinking big is out of the question."

Baker tells Nicole he's going to gambler's anonymous and has his gambling under control. He has a nice job and a nice salary and is fine financially, "All things are possible. Isn't that a quote from the Bible?"

"The what? "," asks Nicole, "If you keep it up, I'll drag your sorry ass in front of the hospital board and I'll have your job in the blink of an eye."

"Sometimes," says Dr. Baker, "you are so smart and sly you scare me. Other times, you are just and idiot."

"I've been with EJ too long," says Nicole, "Idiocy must be contagious."

Somehow, Johnny has popped up at the DiMera mansion. Allie wanders the Black Forest looking for berries to eat. EJ bounces Johnny on his knee.

Stephanie offers her condolences. Stefano spews his wrath. Phillip steps up and says he understands Stefano is grieving over Tony and wants to blame someone.

"Not someone," shouts Stefano, "You! You little bastard."

"That's bionic bastard to you," says Phillip, "But I'm not to blame. The person to blame is his father."

Prevuze

Mia says she's 'sort of' been around babies. Will asks what that means. Mia sidesteps that one. She says she had a friend who was adopted and she always wondered who her real parents were. She was sad and lonely all the time. Will thinks that's a tough way to go through life. Mia thinks what Sami did was awesome. Will says he thinks so to and realizes he has been a jerk. He picks up Grace and suggests Mia hold her. "Maybe I will," says Mia. Oh, the breakthrough!

Baker tells Nicole now she has what she wants but she will go down if Baker loses. Nicole tells him to keep his voice down. Baker says, "I can be quiet as a mouse – or not – depending on the understanding we have. "Y'know, Sydney looks just like her mother."

"BASTARD!"

"Man," says Baker, "There are more bastards in this episode than there are at Mrs. Murphy's Home For Unwed Mothers. And I can be one. Or I can be your friend." Nicole says she doesn't want him as her daughter's doctor.

Well, they've dumped Johnny for a nap. Sami offers to let Johnny stay the night. Or a lifetime, "He really admires his father. He even has your accent down. He always asks for tomaaaaaato sauce instead of ketchup."

EJ asks, "And does he also call you 'Samanther?'"

EJ says tonight he just want people he loves around him. Sami tells him she knows family is important. EJ says he now understands why she adopted.

Stephanie tries to referee between Phillip and Stefano. Stefano spews, "Listen, cutie keep your mouth shut!"

Phillip goes into a rage, "If you ever talk to her like that again I'll cut your throat!" He turns to Stephanie, "Although, it's not bad advice." Stephanie steps in and says she will pray for Stefano and Tony. Phillip says he feels bad about Tony and he knows Stefano does, too.

Stefano growls, "You have no idea how I feel and you should pray to God you never do." Stefano walks out.

Stephanie and Phillip sit at a table. Phillip insists he's fine. Stephanie is worried about him. She says she knows Victor loves Phillip. Phillip says that may be true but he's never good enough for Victor, "Don't forget I'm out of a job."

"OMG," gasps Stephanie, "Did DOOL fire you, too?"

Baker wonders what would happen if Sydney got sick and she needed a blood sample form the mother. Nicole says she would handle it. She says she doesn't want Baker anywhere near Sydney.

Mia takes Grace. Will asks, "What's wrong."

Mia says, "It's just holding her... I don't want to let her go."

"You will when you discover what's in her diaper," says Will.

EJ says he didn't think Sami should adopt Grace, but Tony's death gave him an extraordinary sense of emptiness. He thinks Sami must have felt that in the witless protection program. They ramp up the mutual admiration society. He thinks she's a good mother. She thinks he's a good dad. "Because of that," says Sami, "There is something I want to tell you... about Grace."

Baker tells Nicole Mia is back in town, but figures Nicole already knows that. He tells her to focus on what's important. He wonders what will happen when Mia wants her baby back. Nicole insists that won't happen and Mia won't find out about the switcheroo. Baker says if she does, she will be upset. He leaves. Nicole stares.

Phillip says he couldn't believe it when Victor apologized. Stephanie says, "By firing you, your dad has given you your freedom."

"You're right," says Phillip, "I'm free to go to any soup kitchen in town."

"I wonder what you will do with all that freedom," says Stefano. Suddenly she gets and idea and squeals, "Come on, I'll show you!"

Mia says, "She's amazing."

"You know what else is amazing," says Will, "She needs a new diaper." Mia volunteers to step up to the plate and make the change, but gets a call and hands that ugly chore over to Will. Nicole tells Mia they have to meet. Mia hangs up, says she has to go and runs out the door.

Phillip and Stephanie skip off to parts unknown.

Sami says she doesn't want EJ to feel reluctant to talk to her. She starts to come clean, "I hope you're not a resentful person because..."

Stefano interrupts, "I just saw Phillip Kiriakis with his bimbo. He should be dead. Dead!"

Phillip and Stephanie have arrived at the Kiriakis mansion. Phillip says he has to get the hell out of the house. Stephanie asks, "Don't you want to sleep on it?"

Phillip takes her in his arms, "How did I get so lucky?"

Stephanie says, "How did you know getting lucky is exactly what I'm talking about?" Phillip drags her off and misses the note sitting on the table.

Mia meets Nicole. Nicole tells her Tony is dead.

"I'm sorry about that," says Mia, "but now he's not a problem for you."

"Now we have another problem," says Nicole, "Dr. Baker is in Salem. He knows you're here. He's not to be trusted, so you have to do exactly what I say."

Phillip and Stephanie have transported themselves to Stephanie's apartment. She tells him he can stay there as long as he likes. "I don't know if that's such a good idea," says Phillip.

Sami tells Stefano Tony's death was an accident. Stefano rages, "If the Brady's want to stick up for the Kiriakis' that's fine," says Stefano, "Just get away from us." Sami says it's wrong to accuse someone of murder when that person didn't do it.

"Hey," says Sami, "I know. It happened to me."

Stefano thinks that over, "I guess that's the one exception to the rule." He storms off. EJ reminds Sami she was about to tell him something about Grace.

Nicole thinks Mia came back to Salem for the baby. Mia says she kind of did, but knows she promised she'd stay away from Sydney. Nicole insists she is a good mother and doesn't want to risk what happened with Tony happening again.

Phillip thinks the room just got a little colder. He says he's tempted to stay there, but knows she lives with Chelsea and she's hooked up with Max. Stephanie tries to convince him.

Nicole tells Mia to stay away from Dr. Baker. She agrees. Nicole also tells her to stay away from the DiMera mansion and Nicole, too, "If you don't like those rules, you can just leave Salem."

Sami cops out. She says she just wanted to say she's glad EJ appreciates her adopting Grace. She wants it to be clear that their families need to stay apart. EJ reminds her she can't cut all ties because of Johnny, "When it comes to Grace..."

Sami reaches deep down inside of herself and conjures up one of her nastier personalities, "YOU HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH GRACE!"

Stephanie invites Phillip into her bedroom.

Phillip asks, "Do you know what you're getting into."

Stephanie snuggles up closer, "The question is... Do you know what you're getting into?"

And the Emmy for the least subtle double entendre in the history of television goes to..."

Mia agrees to do everything Nicole asked. She says she wants Sydney to be raised by Nicole because she will have everything. Nicole wonders why Mia doesn't leave Salem. Mia says it would just never work in Japan. Nicole suggests New York. Mia isn't interested, "I have to finish high school. I don't want to go to the Big Apple. I'm better off in Salem, the Rotten Apple."

Will tells Grace she's not half bad, now that her diaper is changed.

Stefano wanders around the scene of Tony's death. He sits and broods, "Anthony... Anthony..."

EJ says he can't figure out Sami's 180. "I switch poles all the time," says Sami. She goes into one of her patented rages and runs up to get Johnny. Poor Johnny.

Poor Johnny.

How about poor the rest of us. I do like fiesty spit fire Stefano and I have to admit - I am growing fond of Dr. Baker.

It's Friday, let's have some fun - here we go....

Today's challenge is to fill in the blank! Come on Leslie make it good :)

Here's mine:

She tells him he can stay there as long as he likes.
Isn't Chelsea living there now? Making all the decisions unilaterally is great for all relationships.

Nicole insists she is a good mother...
So much so that she gave the baby she adored away for a 'better' baby... though I guess that's a testament to what type of person she is rather than mother.

"If you don't like those rules, you can just leave Salem."
I don't know why Nicole is making all the rules, she's holding very little cards. Her very fragile plan depends on the relationship between herself, Baker and Mia. Being unkind to either of them is stupid.

"The question is... Do you know what you're getting into?
Well, that's pretty eww.

lol, Berg I didn't even realize it was Friday. Also, I liked Passions, more or less. Go Luis and Ethan. meh...

Baker says the job offer he had in Detroit fell through, "I used to play high school football, but now I'm a dumpy old guy with a bad arm. The Lions brass thought I was too good to be their quarterback."

Detroit has the big three auto makers and the Lions to bring them down, and Salem has – well – Nicole. If she can play quarterback, someone needs to put together a trade. Since future draft picks are unlikely, Melanie should be thrown in for good measure.

"I know that's the way you feel, but it's all in your mind," says Sami.

"That's empty, too," says EJ.

That leaves plenty of room for all the rocks in his head.

"You always did think small," says Baker.

"Once you've been with Lucas and EJ," says Nicole, "Thinking big is out of the question."

Ewwwww Prevuze, talk about a kick to the groin!

"Sometimes," says Dr. Baker, "you are so smart and sly you scare me. Other times, you are just and idiot."

"I've been with EJ too long," says Nicole, "Idiocy must be contagious."

Kick in the groin – part deux!

Well, there appears to be a whole lot of nothing going on in this episode. If anything is to be gleaned from this mess, it’s the horrible truth that the baby switch storyline isn’t going to end anytime soon. Who at DOOL actually thinks that stringing along the viewers like this makes for great TV and higher ratings? News flash to DOOL – you’re just frustrating and angering your viewers. If we want frustration and anger, we can just take a look at our 401K or read the Wall Street Journal. Geez!

Berg has put forth a challenge. Hmmm…let’s see…Sami switches personalities faster than a Barry Bonds steroid enhanced homer leaves the ballpark.

Chicken wire…I was wondering how those earrings were designed Bulldog. Thanks for taking one for the team Prevuze and TGIF!

To quote someone, "Kick in the groin – part trois!"

My "Huh?" moment today - Stephalip are at the pub. Then they're at the mansion. Why? Then they're at Stephanie's place. Why? Are the writers like local news directors who think a reporter must be standing in front of a building or out in a hurricane in order to talk about it?

I'm guessing they have actually moved on to a new day or else they had Tony's memorial the same day he died and Will had the longest free period in the history of high school.

Berg - Sami switches personalities faster than Lucas disowns Kate!

LOL over my favorite Prevuism today: "EJ asks does he also call you 'Samanther?'" HAHAHA

We made it to Friday! YAY! Thanks for getting us there, Prevuze. TGIP.

Seeing in Prevuze Previews that Dr. B was back in town I wondered if the Lions and D town were going to be dissed. lol

One of my favorite prevuisms today: "There are more bastards in this episode than there are at Mrs. Murphy's Home For Unwed Mothers.

Phillip drags her off and misses the not sitting on the table.

I hope that’s the “note” sitting on the table and not the “not sitting” on the table. At first I thought there was a “not sitting on the table” rule in the mansion that Phil missed. LOLOL

Stephanie snuggles up closer, "The question is... Do you know what you're getting into?"

And the Emmy for the least subtle double entendre in the history of television goes to..."

So, Stephanie's tasteless line wasn’t a clever prevuism but just a tasteless line?

I was going to offer, "Sami switches personalities faster than the DAYS' writing staff can ruin a storyline." But I don't think even Sami's personality switches are that fast.

I'm so thankful today. Friday is here. The sun is here. Prevuze is here taking one for the poor DOOL audience.

Anyone notice that Chloe and Nicole are wearing the same earrings for the last few episodes?

Also, wonder why Bo couldn't see Tony's death in his special mind movies?

Yes, it was supposed to be "note." I have made the change in the posting. Thanks.

Thanks Bulldog for explaining Nicole's faux pas in her taste of jewelry. LOL funny! I kept staring at her earrings(if you can call them that) and I coudn't for the life of me figure out why anyone would use huge pieces of crap metal to create such a horrid piece of couture!

Sami switches personalities faster than one can count the offsprings of an impotent male.

Have a wonderful week-end everyone. This eppi looks like a snore fest, I think I'll sleep in late on Monday :)
