Business Is My Business

Phillip comes to see Willow and tells her he debated not coming at all, "This had better be good."

Trouble in paradise... Belle wakes Shawn and tells him Claire has an infection. Shawn assures her everything will be OK. Belle reacts in the following manner:

a) Panic
b) Panic
c) Panic
d) All of the above

If you selected option 'd,' Panic, you know Belle pretty well.

Sami visits with Roman. Smalltalk. She thinks he needs to be measured for his tux. Roman reminds her they probably have his measurements on file from the last six times or so.

Sami blames herself for John's condition and Roman plays right into her hand by telling her it wasn't her fault that John got shot. Sami wonders if Roman has any new leads on what happened that night. The Salem PD, of course, wouldn't know a lead if it walked into the cop shop wearing a neon sign that said, "I AM A LEAD." Roman wants to know what this is really about.

Lucas comes into EJ's office with the "China" report. Unfortunately, EJ wanted to know how the company was doing in China, and Lucas' report gives detailed information on the type of china Sami has selected in the bridal registry at Nordstrom's.

Lucas butters up his new boss. He tells him he through he wasn't going to report directly to him, since he can't stand the sight of him. EJ says Lucas is only reporting to him for the duration of this project. Lucas hopes the little chiseler doesn't renege on moving out especially since he and Sami have moved up the date for the wedding. They have decided to have it in May. EJ thinks that isn't a lot of time to plan the wedding of Sami's dreams. Lucas reminds him that it is a recurring dream, and says he wants the baby to be born with his last name.

"With your name," asks EJ.

Lucas asks, "You got a problem with that?"

"Perhaps I do," says EJ.

Max returns to the garage to find Abby up to her ears in work. He's all shook up, "I know I shouldn't be telling you this, but I just have to tell somebody what's been going down. We found out who really killed Mimi's dad... Mimi did." Max explains how Mimi killed him and then blocked it out of her mind until Bonnie told her what happened. Bonnie will take the rap while Mimi takes a powder.

Mimi is in Arizona. Max tells Abby he took Mimi there before coming to the garage, "I took her to Arizona and dropped her off and then swung by New York on the way back to pick up some sandwiches at my favorite deli there. I'll probably never see her again."

Abby breaks into a few bars of the Hallelujah Chorus and tells Max how dreadfully sorry she is. Max is sorry he laid this all on her. Not to worry, Abby tells him... say it with me, kids...

"I will be there for you."

Roman tells Sami she should be thinking of getting married, not about EJ Wells. Sami says it's hard not to think about him since Lucas is working at Myth-Ick. She doesn't feel safe with EJ on the loose. Roman says they are working on it. He tells her it's top secret and he can't divulge the details of the new angle they are working on. He then not only proceeds to give her every detail, but takes a bull horn, opens her window and announces to all of Salem, "We know Shawn was working for EJ and are planning to have him sign a sworn statement saying he and Patrick were in collusion."

A wino lays in the gutter below Sami's apartment and thinks, "Tell me something I don't know." Sami reminds him Shawn and Belle are still missing. Little details like that don't bother Roman at all.

EJ goes through Lucas' convoluted genealogy and says he thinks Sami and Lucas' baby should have the name Horton. EJ is also going to be helpful and clear Kate's schedule so she can help with the big day.

"There is no need," says Lucas, "She's not invited."

Kate walks up behind him, "Well, thank God for that."

Lucas turns around and says, "We're not speaking."

EJ lectures him. He reminds him that they all work together and Lucas is being unprofessional. Lucas the diplomat tells EJ it's none of his business.

"Business is my business," says EJ. He orders the two of them to work this out and leaves.

Abby moves in like rats invading Chernobyl after the meltdown. Abby just wants him to know, if there is anything she can do... say it with me, kids...

"I will be there for you."

Suddenly, from the front of the garage, a voice slurs, "AAABBBBAAAAGGGAAIIILL..." Jed stumbles into the room, "Jusht the girl I wasssh looking for."

Shawn bounces Claire on his knee, "Someday all this will be yours." Meanwhile, Belle rips up every piece of cloth on the island to make a bandage for Claire. She brings a bundle of linen over which is big enough to be the daily laundry load at Sing-Sing, "Shawn, if this doesn't work, I really don’t know what we are going to do."

"Neither do I," says Shawn, "But I have a feeling it will involve a hysterical overreaction on your part." Claire cries as Belle wraps her wound.

Willow tells Phillip about her conversation with Hope. She runs through the twisted logic by which she has deduced Shawn and Belle are still alive.

Lucas tells Kate if she does anything to mess up the wedding he will disown her again. Kate insists Sami is keeping secrets from him again, "Your love for Sami has made you blind to the truth. If you don't wake up she will ruin your life."

"No, Mom, you are."

Roman heads downstairs. Out of habit, Sami goes through his files. Her cell phone rings. EJ wants information. Sami tells him now isn't a good time. EJ says, "Why don't you tell me – now."

Sami says, "If you call me again or ask me any more questions I swear I'll kill you." Roman walks up behind her.

Jed is there to talk to Abby. She says he hardly knows her and suggests he talk to his other friends. Jed asks, "You want me to tell the guys on the team my sister's a hooker?"

"Sure," says Abby, "Maybe business is slow. A little marketin never hurts."

Jed doesn't know what to do, "Maybe I'll drop out of school and move to Spain, or maybe I'll just jump off lookout point and kill myself."

"Let me know if I can help with that," says Max.

Roman wants to know what that was all about. Sami claims it was the florist bugging her about what color of yellow flowers she wants for the wedding. Roman thinks that was a pretty strong reaction over yellow flowers. Sami blames the hormones. Roman doesn't want her worrying herself sick. Sami vows to walk Lucas down the aisle if it's the last thing she does.

Kate wonders what Lucas would do if Will gets involved with a girl who has done the things Sami has done. Lucas would look beyond his own prejudices and try to see what Will sees in her and then BUTT OUT. Kate insists he wouldn't. She says he would do whatever it takes to save his son.

"When it comes to Sami, you're blind," says Lucas, "And when it comes to me you're out, for all the Days Of Our Lives."

Lucas' cell phone rings. "This is Reginald Guinness, from the famed Guinness Book Of World Records. We understand you have just thrown your mother out of your life again. We are happy to inform you that you have just set the world record for the number of times a son has disowned his mother. We will be including this incredible feat in the next edition of our book. We will also send you a plaque to commemorate this awesome achievement as well as a complimentary copy of 'Mommie Dearest.' Congratulations Mr. Roberts."

Willow tells Phillip if he doesn't believe her, he can leave. "How much," asks Phillip.

"One bedroom," says Willow, "In the mansion. A decent place for me and my baby. I'll help you and you help me. What do you say?"

The Kiddie Corps begins to realize perhaps they might not have thought things through when they decided to bring a baby to live on a deserted island with no food, shelter or medical care. Thinking – bold new concept. Shawn assures Belle things will be OK. Belle thinks maybe their luck is running out.

"Or maybe God is showing us at every turn that he is on our side," says Shawn.

Sami says, "I just want everything to be perfect for my wedding. Oh, God, how many times have I said that? I just want EJ wells to be behind bars for good." Roman says they are doing everything they can to find Shawn and Belle and will not stop until EJ is off the streets.

Kate thinks that was harsh, "Of all my children, you are definitely the most stubborn, and talkative. You never doubted that I loved you unconditionally. Have you ever doubted that Sami does... YES, you have, haven't you? I'm your mother. That won't change. And it really doesn't matter how many times you turn your back on me."

Kate leaves. Outside, EJ comes up and hugs her and asks what he can do to help.

Abby knows Jed is upset but tells him not to do anything stupid. Too late. Jed apologizes for the way their date ended, "I schtill owe you a goodnight kissssch..." He leans in toward Abby who literally throws him across the room. Max saves him from crashing into the wall, but refuses the kiss.

Phillip tells Willow no deal. Willow begs for a second chance, "I will do anything, anything." Phillip asks if Willow will be seeing Hope from time to time. Willow says yes.

Phillip tells her to see what she can get out of her, "I want proof that Shawn and Belle are alive, not guesses or intuition. If that information pans out, you'll get your reward."

"What reward?"

"One step at a time," says Phillip, "Until you have something concrete, stay out of my face."

Phillip leaves. Willow smirks.

Belle thanks Shawn for staying strong. She feels closer to him now than ever before. Claire wakes up and interrupts the tender moment.

Sami worries Shawn might not have enough information to put EJ away. Roman tells her they are working every possible angle to get EJ off the streets. Roman is actually glad Shawn and Belle are missing. For heaven's sake, who isn't? That way, EJ can't get to them. He thinks EJ would do anything to protect the DiMeras.

Kate tells EJ he hasn't come through for her in the way that counts. Sami and Lucas are still together and he should have had the power to do something about that. EJ tells her a lot can happen when the right seeds have been planted, and he believes he has just the one that will take Sami away from Lucas permanently.

Max tells Jed he can chill there as long as he wants. Max goes to work on a car. Jed says, "Max seems like a nice guy. It's him, isn't it? He's the guy you have feelings for. But he's still involved with that other girl." Abby tells him the other girl left town. She thinks it's over. Jed's world collapses, "So where does that leave you and me? Do you not want to see me anymore?"

Sami arrives at Myth-Ick. EJ thinks she looks radiant. Sami tells him if she is glowing it's because she's thinking about what will happen when the police lock him up. EJ says he won't get caught thanks to her intrepid assistance. Sami insists she's helping herself, not him. Sami, the changed woman, rats out Roman's plan and tells EJ about the cops wanting to get a statement from Shawn. She thinks Shawn may be dead, so EJ is in the clear and shouldn't need her for anything else.

"Congratulations, Samantha," says EJ, "Job well done."

Belle tends to Claire as Shawn plays with his squeaky horsie. Belle freaks, "She has a red line up her arm. Shawn, she has blood poisoning!"

Abby thinks it would be better if she and Jed just remain friends. He understands and says he has to go. Abby stops him. He's in no condition to drive. Drive? He's in no condition to walk. Abby decides to take him home. Max comes in as Abby goes to get her car.

Alone at last Jed asks Max, "Do you know how lucky you are to have a girl like Abby fall in love with you?"

Kate has gone to the police station to ruin Roman's life for a while. Roman doesn't know why Kate cares about going to the wedding since she doesn't want Lucas and Sami to get married in the first place. He reminds Kate they are about to share another grandchild. Lucas and Austin have never been his favorite people, "But your sons make my daughter happy. Someday she may collect the whole set."

Kate thinks Sami makes Lucas miserable, "Maybe they are happy in the short-run..."

Roman interrupts, "What you and I had was the short run. Austin and Carrie were in love most of their adult lives. Same thing with Sami and Lucas. If you count the times they switched partners, they are the most lovable foursome since the Marx Brothers." Roman suggests Kate let Sami and Lucas get married. If it works out, everyone will be happy. If it doesn't Kate can gloat and be there for her son. Kate thinks Roman might be right. Maybe she just has to accept it. If she really had the kind of power she thinks she has, she wouldn't have made such a mess of her life.

Roman is flabbergasted Kate would come to that realization. He thinks they are kindred spirits. Kate is afraid this time Lucas really wants her out of his life for good. They share a hug that lasts longer than their marriage.

Lucas rambles on with the longest and worst How-ard Cos-sell impression in history. He didn't back down from Kate, no sir. But Lucas doesn't want to talk about it right now. They have an appointment with Father Kelly to talk about the wedding.

EJ is on the phone. He needs to know the minute Bo and Hope get any information on Shawn's whereabouts, "I should have killed Shawn when I had the chance."

Belle holds Claire. The panic-o-meter jumps off the scale, "We need to get her off this island right now or she will die!" FF. Belle
