Rafe finds Sami dressed and ready to bolt. He discovers she's wearing his size triple-x shirt and says he thinks it's awfully snug on her. Sami gets indignant and insists she's only gained a few pounds. Rafe gets a clue and figures out she's pregnant, "Why didn't you tell me? Have you told anyone?"
EJ continues to visit Nicole. We go through the same old garbage we have been through a thousand times. He loves her. She thinks he doesn't trust her. We really aren't sure how they feel but there is one thing we do know: they are experts at repeating themselves.
Nick the Nut obsesses. He stands behind Melanie and twiddles the knife as he remembers killing Trent. He finally zones back in. Melanie asks what he was thinking about. "Nothing," says Nick, "I was thinking about nothing."
"That's what I always think about," says Melanie, "Nothing... nothing... nothing. That's what fills my brain. Nothing."
Nick comes up with some pile of bull about what he was thinking. He insists he'd do anything for Melanie, and then he pulls out more presents. Melanie giggles as she opens the next one. It's a honkin' birthstone ring. He tells her to consider it a "friendship ring."
Lucas and Phillip storm up to Daniel outside Kate's room of doom. Apparently, Kate has asked to see them. The all hustle into Kate's room. Phillip asks, "Why does she want to see us now? Is she..."
Daniel interrupts, "It's a critical time..."
Phillip trumps Daniel's interruption, "Stop the chemo! Now!"
Sami is indignant and insists she's just gained a couple of pounds. Rafe apologizes for the way he's been treating her. Sami continues to insist she's not pregnant. Rafe wants to know why she didn't tell anyone. Sami says she told her dad and the two adolescents drop back into JBM — Juvenile Bickering Mode. Sami makes threats.
Bo and Hope interrupt EJ and Nicole. Bo says he has recommended bail, but that doesn't mean the charges have been dropped. Ho and Dope leave as EJ assures Nicole he will cover her bail. Smoochies.
Melanie stares at the rock of Gibraltar on her finger, "I'm speechless."
The audience cheers, "Give her another big present. Maybe that will shut her up permanently."
Nick the nut says he wants to take care of her and make her feel safe, "I want to do more for you than this. You know I've alienated friends defending you."
"That's nothing," says Melanie, "I alienate people just by existing."
Hope shows up. She sees the cake, presents and balloons all around the room, "Melanie... your birthday?"
"Wow," says Melanie, "You can't hide anything from a sharp detective like you."
The hospital drips with melodrama. Daniel goes back to work. Phillip goes for air. Lucas goes for coffee. Chloe heads for Oz in search of a brain.
Chloe stands in the hallway for a while. With no one else there, it only takes her several minutes to figure out she is alone, so she goes into Kate's room, sits and stares.
Sami lies like the best of politicians. She tells Rafe her dad knows she is pregnant and told her not to tell anyone. Rafe wants to call Roman to confirm. Sami says if he does, Roman will be upset with her. Rafe doesn't buy her story. He figures she didn't tell anyone. Sami turns on the water works, "I know I'm a handful, a thorn in your side, a piece of work. I've heard you say it over and over again, Agent Broken-Record. OK... don't call. I'll come clean."
Melanie goes for a walk while Nick and Hope talk. Nick gets in Hope's face, "She's innocent. Case closed. You arrested Nicole, so can you just lay off?"
Hope says, "Don't count on the charges against Nicole sticking. Bo and I were positive she was guilty and that's the next best thing to a 'get out of jail free' card. "
Chloe pours her heart out to Kate. She says her sons love her and are having a hard time watching her suffer. Chloe says she knows Kate is a fighter. She says she knows what it teaks to beat this kind of thing and urges her to fight.
Melanie bumps into Phillip, "Well, I just left one member of the 'I Hate Melanie Club' and now I've run into the president. You look like something is bothering you."
"Yes," says Phillip, "YOU. " Melanie thinks he has other things on his mind and says whatever it is, Phillip deserves it.
"My mother is dying," says Phillip.
Sami comes clean. She tells Rafe no one involved with the witness protection program knows she's pregnant. Rafe lectures. Sami bawls. She says she doesn't even have the chance to celebrate the life inside her, "The father and his family will destroy my child's future." She says she was going to tell the day she saw the mayor shot. Now she's stuck in this room with a guy who hates her. Rafe softens but says she has been wrong, stupid and irresponsible.
"Easy for you to say," says Sami, "You haven't had to deal with this baby's father. I'm sure you know who it is. He 's infamous, notorious depraved."
"So," says Rafe, "You're saying he's a DOOL writer? Who is it? Attila the Hun?"
"You're close," whines Sami, "It's EJ DiMera."
EJ and Nicole are back at the mansion. EJ asks why she is despondent. She says she's happy to be free and also happy that he thinks she's innocent, but she's upset that he didn't think that earlier. EJ asks her not to hold that against him. She says as much as she wants to be there she has to say goodbye.
EJ consults the Guy Manual, which tells him, "This is known as an escape valve. Grab it at all costs."
EJ ignores the advice and asks why Nicole is leaving. Nicole says, "I wanted you to want ME. Then you suspected me of murder."
"I thought we already had this conversation," says EJ.
"We did," says Nicole, "But on this show, even dead horses come back to life. I thought we were starting to connect, but then sensed your ambivalence. Emotionally, you just go away."
EJ goes away emotionally, "I know I'm not the most demonstrative of people but..."
Nicole whines, "You forced yourself to have feelings for me but then you go back to wondering how you got mixed up with someone like me." She turns and heads out of the room.
Rafe brings tea. Sami rants about EJ, "His father Stefano is evil so that's why I can't tell EJ."
Chloe tells Kate there was a time when she was so sick she wanted to let go, but then she stopped watching DOOL. Chloe gets up, turns and starts to walk out of the room.
Kate struggles, "Thank... you... Chloe..."
Melanie says she hopes Phillip's mother will be OK and runs off.
Hope tells Nick Nicole is still a suspect and the case is not closed. Suddenly she gasps, "OMG! You know something about Trent's murder don't you?"
EJ stops Nicole. He admits becoming distant at the jail and begs her not to go. He brings up the 'm-word' again. He says he knows he can give her love.
Daniel, Phillip, Lucas and Chloe all converge in the hall outside Kate's room. Phillip and Lucas go inside. Phillip rants about how the chemotherapy is making Kate suffer, "You don't have to do this."
Nick says he doesn't know anything about Trent's death. He and Hope go round the bend about Melanie. "I know you want me to chuck Melanie under the bus," says Nick.
A gal in the audience stands up and shouts, "So do we!"
Melanie comes back as they argue, "Obviously I've missed a few things."
Hope snorts, "You didn't miss a thing."
The viewers throw things at their TVs and yell, "That's for sure!"
Now that she's stirred the pot for no reason, Hope leaves. Melanie wants to know what's up. Nick tells her Hope was just fishing. Melanie thinks Hope was trying to ruin her in Nick's eyes. "I know the real truth," says Nutso Nick.
EJ tells Nicole if she stays it will take time but if they stay committed to each other they and the little squirt can have a wonderful life. Nicole is skeptical because of Sami.
Sami is relieved Rafe understands why she didn't tell EJ. She says she has to figure out a credible way never to tell him, "Thank God I've been given the time to do that."
"You haven't," Says Rafe.
Kate tells they boys she has to continue the treatment. Daniel watches as Kate says she thinks she's going to beat this. Phillip and Lucas are behind her 100%.
Daniel goes up to Chloe, "It was you wasn't it. You talked to Kate. If she pulls through, the whole town will blame you. "
Bo and Hope are back in Commish Bo's office. Hope tells Bo something's not right. She loves Nick but thinks his involvement with Melanie can only lead to disaster.
Melanie is shocked, "You know the truth? How could you know that?" Nick drools and zones. He flashes back to killing Trent. "You didn't do it," he says, "I know that in my heart."
Nicole tells EJ she accepts that Sami is the mother of EJ's son, but she can't accept being the second woman in his life. EJ insists he can let go of Sami now and forever. He moves in and kisses her.
Rafe says, "I respect your decision, but there is an infant involved to think of, and your baby, too. " Sami tries to grab his phone as he dials. She begs him not to call Roman. "I'm not calling your dad," says Rafe, "I'm calling my superior, but I'll bet your father as well as EJ will know you are pregnant in a couple of hours. I'm sorry. The truth has to come out." Rafe walks away. Sami snorts and huffs.

I haven't watched DOOL in awhile and have neglected my Prevuze for months. Sami is pregnant AGAIN? Doesn't she know what causes that? And is she sure it is EJ's? I find that hard to believe.Apparently she hemmed and Hawed so much she lost both EJ and Lucas.
Nick is now a psychopathic killer? Chelsea must have done her job right.

Hmm... I'd like to see Chelsea rescue Nick out of the mess he's gotten himself into. Then their relationship would seem a lot more balanced and they could fall in love all over again. We need some kind of romantic story line, and I'm not feeling it with any of the others.

I just can't believe that the idiots in charge are turning Nick into some drug crazed killer. He was the only one I don't fast forward through. Welcome back, Brendamouse. Nothing new since you've been gone. Ain't it great that you can stop watching the show and reading Prevuze, come back in a few months and NOTHING HAS CHANGED!!!! I got a text at work today from my kid who had off from school wondering what the hell the writers are thinking by changing Nick's personality soo much. Poor kid, she's only been watching this show since she was a baby (now a HS senior). I've been watching myself since I was a kid (30 year reunion this year)and I swear the writing just gets worse & worse. Rant over.

Great Prevuze as always.
First, I must say that Prevuze is the cleverest, most wonderful person/mysterious entity ever and I am forever grateful for the service provided.
2nd, I have a theory on Bo and Hope. Many agree that they have been a lot more annoying lately. I was thinking back to when it began and it may be related to Bo shaving his face. Maybe he needs to grow his beard back to become likable again. I don't think there is anyhope for the anorexic drag queen. They need to soras Ciara to a young adult so Hope has something else to do other than follow Bo around the cop shop. Maybe Ciara can start dating Uncle Max now that he is single.
Bo and Hope are annoying not because of their looks. It's this recent smarmy attitude the writers gave them. I don't even think smarmy is it, Bulldog can describe better than I.
They are condescending, self righteous jackasses now. And I think that's being generous.

On to more serious matters. EJ's a player! He says he can forget about Sami permanently? Pfft. Once she's out of the witness protection program, he will be drooling all over her again. Nicole is absolutely right to want to leave him -- he's only with Nicole because she's his flavor of the week. When things got serious, he flaked out. He doesn't love her, and he CERTAINLY doesn't want to marry her! He just wants to play 'Dad' to their unborn child. Nicole, please! Cut your losses and go get a job! Build a life for Elvis Jr. Jr. on your own!
PS, I also REALLY liked this zinger: 'Hope snorts, "You didn't miss a thing." The viewers throw things at their TVs and yell, "That's for sure!"' I can just imagine really over-emotional Days viewers actually doing that! LOL, :)
